Ok my question is has anyone been able to get a sprint mogul onto the boost mobile unlimited plan?

and before someone comments on boost mobile being iDEN and sprint mogul being a CDMA phone i want to also mention tht boost mobile has 2 portions the iDEN portion and the CDMA portion tht actually runs off the Sprint CDMA network.

My question is basically if anyone has ported their sprint mogul ESN into the boost network . I am getting my titan on monday and wil try but want some feedback if anyone has any success .

I have a mogul that I purchaesed on ebay working on boost. It works great and I get Sprint Navagsator for free! First you have to get one of the 4 CDMA phones that boost supports. You have to buy a used one since boost no longer sells any CDMA phones since they no longer promo the CDMA side. I bought a Krzr on Ebay. I got it activated, then after around a month I bought a Mogul on Ebay (Got a great deal, a like new, just referbed Mogul for $106.00!) I called Sprint and asked change phones. The rep asked for the EIN, then guided me through programing. She said it may take a couple of hours to start working, but before she finished saying that, I got a voice mail.
One important thing, you have to call fromanother phone, since they first have to turn off your current phone, so they won't be able to guide you through programing.

I have the Mogul working on Boost CDMA. It works great.

The procedure:

1. Purchase one of the 3 original Boost CDMA phones first. I recommend the c290 off ebay for around $25 shipped. You can sell it again on ebay or craigslist for what you have in it after you are done.

2. Call Boost to activate. Remember that they want you to be in one of the 13 "lucky" states (Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Florida, Hawaii, Texas, Tennessee,
Mississippi, Louisiana, California, Nevada, Oklahoma and North Carolina.) If you are not in one of the 13 states just give them an address from Nevada (google a Dunkin Donuts in Las Vegas) as the taxes and fees are lowest there - your monthly total will be $51.82. At the time of your signup ask to have your phone number ported in.

3. Insist, ABSOLUTELY insist, on the free month/free activation promo. Call another customer service rep, if you must. They had a free month/free activation promo all last month, it ran out on 9/4. They are saying that in a couple of weeks the free month/free activation promo will be back again. Several posters on howardsforum have gotten the free month just for asking, so instead of waiting around just make it clear that you might not sign up unless you get it instead of waiting for another 2, 3 weeks.

4. Once you have your Boost CDMA phone activated wait a few hours and then call in with your Mogul in hand to do the swap. I claimed that "something is wrong with my c290" as a reason for the switch to the Mogul. Generally speaking there should not be a problem doing this, although in rare cases you may have to call back if the initial rep is not helpful.

The apps I use most on the Mogul:

Skyfire.

Best browser for multimedia. I go on justin.tv for streamed movies and sports. Also joost.com for movies and TV shows, TV.com for missed TV shows, htcradio.com for streamed music, veoh.com for music videos.

Opera Mini - 4.2 and 5

For your everyday browsing. Lightning fast and optimized for mobile view. Opera 5 is still in beta, but it has some nifty features, especially tabbed browsing, so you can open a dozen web pages in one browser and not run out of memory, with room to spare.

I suggest you use a cooked ROM to get the most out of your Mogul (including maximum memory and already built-in fixes/hacks/apps.) My favorite is ryanmogul's Sprint v2.1 Light, here:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=496982

When I first loaded this ROM I had around 27 MB available, even with all it already has built-in. Then the extra installs and it still gives me a good 24 to 25 MB of RAM, plenty for multi-tasking. It also has some goodies already cooked in, like a Java Engine, Opera Mini, WMWifiRouter (turn your phone into an actual WifiRouter, so you can tether a multitude of laptops and/or PDAs to your 3G network simultaneously, at the beach, in the car.)

Can you tether your mogul to a computer, and run dslreports/mobile? I am intrested in switching to boost, and hopefully get more then 0.10mb/s with cricket.

Could this be done with a Verizon Branded Titan?

Sorry for the delay in responding. I had completely forgotten about this thread, just now came across it by chance. If you still need the info:

Yes, indeed. You can tether. And, boy, can you ever. I use an application called WMWifiRouter. Check it out here:

http://global.wmwifirouter.com

You can get it free included in most of the "cooked" ROMs you see in this forum. Your phone turns into a WiFi Router, so once activated you can put the phone down and then, wirelessly, tether any laptop and PDA and also any other phone with wifi capability to it. It is stunning: You can be in a state park having a family picnic and 12 different folks can get on the internet with their laptops, PDAs and Wifi-capable phones (say, Iphone) because you provide them with the wireless WiFi router to do so in the middle of nowhere. Simultaneously.

Speed: Speeds on the Sprint 3G network are also excellent. Using the phone browser and www.mobilespeedtest.com I see data download speeds of about 1,700 to 2,200 kbps. A tethered laptop with WMWifiRouter still gets around 1,200 to 1,500 kbps download speed.
