So my story is I managed to sit my phone in a pool of soda many months ago. I let it spend several days drying but I didn't bother taking it apart to properly clean it (a bit scared to do it). As of about a month or two ago I started losing keypad functionality. I now only have a couple keys that still function. my camera takes extremely fuzzy pictures and my scroll wheel sticks sometimes.

Does anyone have any recommendations on cleaning the device? or is it even worth it? I want to get the camera working properly again, I doubt the keypad will function without a replacement (is it easy to replace)?. If I were to clean it is there anything safe to clean it with?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Heres the info, do as you please.
Do a search for the HTC Service manual Hermes. That will show you step by step how to take apart and put back together.
Use isopropyl alcohol to clean with. It dries fast and doesn't leave a residue. I use cotton buds to apply.

I'd give everything a clean as soda has a lot of sugar and other junk that may have started corroding things. It may just require cleaning.

Cheers...:D
