I googled the topic and found some stuff but could not achieve the objective:rolleyes: . i am running tytn2 by HTC with wm6.1 (phoenix 2) and dell laptop with a land line internet .... what i want is to use my laptop as server over bluetooth and use my tytn2 to access that laptop's internet connection. AGAIN I SHOULD MENTION THAT ALTHOUGH IS SOME STUFF BUT EITHER IT IS WITH COMPLEX TERMINOLOGY OR IT IS WITH STEP BY STEP GUIDE.
WHAT I WANT IS THERE SHOULD BE STEP BY STEP GUIDE PERFERABLLY WITH IMAGES SO THAT MANY NEW ONES LIKE ME MAY BE ABLE TO BENEFIT .... I KNOW THERE IS TOPIC IN WIKI .... THERE ARE MANY REASON FOR THIS INTERNET SHARING OVER BLUETOOTH .

Get a freaking clue, this forum is not your personal slave to do your bidding. And you have a history of cross posting or multiple posting. I suggest you learn some respect.

"the forum is not ......." that's true. but we all are the slaves of our needs .... the purpose of post was to facilitate the NEW ONES .... i shall learn respect with passage of time .... but ...... t the moment i think seniors should show a little respect (in the sense of guiding) to the ONES who just make mistake becoz lake of experience ..... NOT INTENTIONALLY

Hello all, I am relatively new here, and despite searching and reading the wiki , I am still not able to understand internet sharing or how to tethering. If some senior with more knowledge than me and a little time could walk me through this, me and other newbies having the same trouble would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks

Above, the right way, no colors, no demands, no big red upper case yelling, no THIS IS WHAT I WANT, DON"T TELL ME TO GOOGLE

i think we have moved away from the purpose ...... the purpose of my post was not to criticize the letter , colours and off course my mistake as it is going on but to help some buddies who have some how asked me about ics and it was just cool and i posted in funny mod. you guys seem aggressive. well perhaps that 's last post and last login of mine (i shall think 100 times before login)...
.................. many many thanx who took it positively and shared information with me .

someone other than OP asked about thethering.
i do this everyday and tried bluetooth and manual ics etc.

i tried many apps.

By far the very best out there is from wmwifirouter..
iir, it is from chainfire..

this is awesome app that has wep security.
there is freeware version. you should get the paid version if for nothing else,
the work and how superior it is--nothing else compares.

thanx

AFAIK he wants to do the opposite of usual tethering (access PC's internet from Kaiser, not access the net from the PC through the Kaiser).

The answer is: Install Activesync on the PC if not done, connect the phone to activesync via BT, and there, you have the net on the phone.

I am pretty sure this man(?) speaks the thruth. If not: most broadcom-based bluetooth sticks come with software that facilitates your needs. But if you want to share you PC's internet with a kaiser or whatever modern pocketpc. I suggest you buy some cheap wireless router/access point. They do the job much better and can be pretty well securable.

You might say: "I don't want to spend money on it". Then also ask yourself: "Do you want to spend time on it?"

cheers

In that case your right, activesync to your PC and surf away

so my shouting brings benefit for many new ones;) .... ..... let the people criticize while i and many otherS get useful info:p... i hope to manage the whole info in a step by step manner with images in future;).. the point is that it actually involves somewhat networking that the non professional people are less familiar with .... (that's what i felt) LET US LIGHTEN UP THE POSSIBILITIES BY BRINGING EASINESS TO THOSE WHO ARE NOT COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY RELEVANT..;)

LET US LIGHTEN UP THE POSSIBILITIES BY BRINGING EASINESS TO THOSE WHO ARE NOT COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY RELEVANT..

I fully disagree with this. If you're not computer technology aware, you shouldn't be even joining XDA-DEV forum (read my sig). Actually I was about alert mods on this, but a mod is already here .. ;)

Which part of the 'DEV' is not understood? Hacking and Tweaking needs patience and perseverance. One should read the basic FAQ, what XDA Dev is and respect the community and domain experts here. They are here not to spoonfeed.

If one is lazy, go and buy commercial product to solve one's need, or go and donate specifically to member here to make a tailor suited apps for one's need.

We @ xda-developers demand that our users do some of the work themselves, like searching and know the basics of their devices themselves.
It is called xda-DEVELOPERS for a reason.

Opening triple post, shouting, demanding etc. is non tolerated behavior.
