What Software Would U Like As A Panel

Is there any software on your x1 that u would like to have as a panel?

If there is please post a message with the path to the exe and i will try and make a panel.

If u can find 2 pics (one portrait and one landscape to match the software it would help.


ps. with a bit of luck some of the will turn out like my Google Maps Panel V2

(I will try my best but some may not work, and its only standard software, not plug in or UI)

An offer I can't refuse!

I'm not looking to have a specific program Panel-ized, but rather I'm interested in a panel that can disable TF3D upon entering(unless TF3D is turned off when you switch panels I'm not sure) and shows you a list of installed games or 3D apps. I Like to play games on my phone in short bursts and only when I need to kill a minute or 2, would be nice If it was a bit quicker to get right to the game rather than having to navigate several menus to disable TF3D and then opening programs and running the game.

If This is possible I would be greatly appreciative, also if it were possible to add/remove apps from its list either thru the panel or thru reg edit or editing a file that can be changed simply by adding a line with a link to the program I desire, that would be fantastic.

PS: I realize this is slightly different than what you are offering, but I figured it couldn't hurt to ask.

im using a standard rom, i dont know if your rom has a different path to the exe's, but will try and u let me know if they work on yours

im having a problem making it open the folder, for some reason when u tell it to autoload a folder it activates opera and shows u it as a page.

should be able to make any game autoload if u can give me the path (eg. program files - games -solitare).

still looking into the uninstall program (cant seem to find the exe in windows, if any one knows please let me know)

sorry, I didnt mean uninstall, I meant have the ability to add or remove a game from being listed in the panel since I hope to add more games to my phone in the future, but if you want to just have it open a folder with shortcuts to my current games I suppose that would be easier and you could just use the current windows\start menu\programs\games folder which should be the same for everybody. look in the romove program settings, see if the software is there.
could be lots of reasons why its not working:
it may not be made for wm6.1
it may have to be installed in the phone memory not sd card
(dont think its the size of the screen as it would still show up as an icon but would not work when u start the program).

is it the built in alarm u want or a different program (eg spb time)

to get the path i need just go on the file explorer and list the path from the device to the alarm.exe (eg = sd card - program files -handy alarm - alarm.exe).

i dont think its possible to do without knowing serious programing. it is possible to make a panel that u press on that has still pics for each app (3 apps = 3 still pics) that u can press on to send u to the app u want.

they are just the pics u see in the panel manager (pics i got from the web that suited the theme) it opens the standard panel manager in the 6.1 os but not the one u see when u go to settings

Ah, that's neat I don't know that I have a use for this one, but I'm gonna give it a try anyway. Also I tried the alarm one and all I get is a white screen whether I have an alarm set or not. Is this working on your device? If so I'll do some more testing to see if anything is causing a conflict on my phone.

Edit: Just checked out the task manager panel, works pretty well, probably wont use it often, but it looks nice in panel manager and gets me one closer to filling the 9 panels. Only thing I noticed wrong which isn't really that significant was when selecting panels to add to panel manager screen it says no image available, but it shows up fine after you've added it to panel manager. Keep up the great work!

PS. Is it bad that every time I view this thread I have an almost uncontrollable urge to dig out my SNES and start playing LttP

the clock and alarm panel works fine on my uk rom. i too noticed that sometimes it has no pic in the panel choosing option, not sure why this is.

There are 2 files, i think Opera9.exe just prepares the program, but OperaL.exe actually launches it.

Thing is they might be hidden as a rom file, depending on your rom.

And second I would like to have a second Today Panel that can be chosen seperately, so that i can run SpB Diary and PhoneAlarm on it.....

Hope these panels are useful to some people. i like panels so its good for me.

Please can u make all request for software that has a .exe file.

All software with a .exe file should be possible.

As i dont have some software, i cant always test the panel and i dont know the path (path is where the .exe file is located on your handset).

So please but the path and if possible 2 pics that relate to the software, 1 landscape and 1 portrait (i can look on the net for pics but would save me time in u could find good pics for the panel manager).

Please make requests with this post in mind;)

For example, if you install the skype panel you have to install skype himself to use the panel.

not 100% sure. i think it is using IE as every time opera starts the opera logo shows up on the screen whilst it loads up and that did not happen when i tested it

Thanks very much for the post, however it is not working. The program keeps saying Debug Assertion Failed Line:756 Expression: Vector subscript out of range and Line 757: Expression: ("Standard C++ Libraries Out of Range", 0)

Any other suggestions, plus i know the panel made just load the application but it didn't even load the application i just went to a white screen. Thanks for your help. If anyone knows how to make pandora work on the xperia x1 either with or without a panel please let me know, it would be awesome to have!

Wow... i have a wish list for a panel...

I really like the looks of "Inesoft Phone", so maybe it shuld be based on that. With the theme "Standard VGA" as default theme. But it dosent end there. The application launcher "Teksoft Glyphs" is (in my world). One of the most good looking app i have seen (the icons). So if there is any possibillety, it shuld be in the mix..
Then for start meny, i think "WisBar Advance 3". With the theme "Clear Gloss 3".
If there would be any way to mix these apps so it could be in the same panel, it would be dope.
Then maybe you would be asking: why dont you just install those apps and all themes you talked about earlyer?
Because, it so much memory and resource consuming apps that my system almost is down on its knees... So if i also start, for exaple PIE and start surfing the web.. My X1 is not a light, swift machine... As you surely can imagine.

not to sure, i use a different software manager program to kill process. the one that is in the panel is the standard wm6.1 version built into the rom (but for some reason never used as far as i know), not sure if there is an option or not to kill programs

if you install Fdc Soft TaskMgr wm2005_3.1.cab you will be able to kill the processes.

Its recommended to uninstall the panel, install the soft and afterwars reinstall the pannel.

As the cab is freeware, its postet with this message.

yes, only works once. if u try to install the cab again it will only give u an option to replace the version installed with the version that is on the cab (which will be the same).

i dont think touchflo detacher can be use as a separate panel as touchflo attaches itself to the main first today screen when activated. unless we can make a panel which runs "show tf3d" when activated and "close tf3d" when we switches to another panel.

not 100% sure but it should be possible through html code but the generator on the site that makes the panel cab has not got the code for it to be applied so it can only be done if u know how to develop a panel in c# / .net

Sorry, but i have just flash my X1 by Touch IT v5 final, and I already install ActiveX_Deployment_signed.CAB, and then i install all panel in this theard. But when I click one of them in panel manager I can't open it. It auto play by window media player and some warn "Cannot play the file. Hi guys, in opposite to what our friend here was asking, there is something that I'm not happy with the panel manager of my Xperia, when I change between panels every time I hit the panel botton the actual panel auto close and THAT I don't want. I can call me crazy but I have my reasons. For example, when I'm run the media panel for lister some music, maybe I want to run the facebook panel too in some moment and if I do that the media panel stops!

I know I can use other app for music or facebook, but I thinks is simplier to setup the panel manager for NOT to close the panels on exit. I don't care if later I have to stop those manually. Anyone have an idea? Thanks!

For example, if you instal the Point UI Home 2 PANEL you'll see that when you run the panel it goes so slow to start. But if the panel still runs in the background after you've switched to another, doesn't that consume additional memory? Imagine if you have a couple of panels open at the same time.

Yeah, I know that, but thing a little.. If you pay attemption to your system memorys you'll notice that almost all the time you have al least 40% free memory so, the memory shouldn't be a problem. In fact, every panel just take less than 1% or maybe 2% of the system memory and there are 9 panels, that is between 10% and 20% of system memory MAX! I most say, I'm sure I will not have 9 panels opened, but maybe 4, that is MAX 10%. Isn't that acceptable?

But if the panel still runs in the background after you've switched to another, doesn't that consume additional memory? Imagine if you have a couple of panels open at the same time.

guess a panel that would display games, either java or mswm format. :D

Or maybe an emulator panel, when they eventually get it to fully utilise the graphic acceleration on X1, but it is designed with a proper interface, not just a shortcut to the program.

Other thoughts for panels:

A panel that is designated for work like word, excel, powerpoint, outlook, notes, etc in the format of something like the media panel.

Matrix panel, ie with the green letters running down black background highlighting time & date, with shortcuts to msgs, missed calls etc, but mainly a cool/show-off panel, something like the the fish, but more practical, like the growing panel.

Paint panel, would be awesome with multi-touch.

Crazy thought here but dual booting/Virtual OS's, ie run WinMo, whilst WebOS/iPhone OS/Symbian on a panel??? Only if the internal memory, processor and RAM was large enough, hopefully X2 can accommodate this?

You just need to install it, then remove the text file, something like spbmobileshell.txt, voila, its in english.

Hello, if anyones interested if written some scripts (you need to install Mortscript 4.2 on your PPC). It changes the behaviour of the panel manager to switch between the processes you have running instead of different panels.

It displays static screens of the application (You need to create landscape and protrait etc) instead of the typical html panels.

When you start the scripts, with no programs running, all you see when you press the panel button is the home screen panel.

If you then start coreplayer, then resco explorer, and then open a notepad file then press the panel manager you will see three aditional panels with screen shots of each program.

Selecting the panel with the screenshot for coreplayer will then open the program directly. Closing the program takes you back to the panel manager and closes the panel, which can then be used by another program.

If anyone's interested i'll trying it and can offer any suggestions for inmprovement i'll upload the files for you

I'll buy my SE X1 this month, and I was wondering if is possible to make a html panel using Throttle Launcher. I don't want to install TF3D or change to a custom rom. I want to test the phone with stock rom + some apps, and if i am not satisfied I'll choose a custom rom. I like TF3D interface but with some themes, you can make Throttle Launcher like HTC's TF3D, Apple or BB interface.
Sorry for the question but i don't have the X1 to try.

Hey mate, had some ideas for a panel,
I was wondering if you could do a few more pet ones? Like the 3D fish panel just a bit more funner, You can get some HTML's for flash pets and everything i know that, And if you clock on the screen you can feed them, But one as a panel would be great, A pet panel :D they dont have to glow or anything! theres frogs,spiders,Fish and mouses. Im just not sure where to find the HTML! if you accept ill look my hardest for them
