View Full Version : Repetitive warning sound when battery low

Need a repetitive loud warning sound (Wav.) when my battery needs recharging.
I do have the freeware Batti 2.4 however this only gives me a single warning sound at Battery-low and one further single warning at critical, and then only when it’s not asleep. As I often leave my Diamond on my desk at home for two or three days at a time without even going to it (unless someone rings me) I forget to check if it needs re-charging, previously it has gone flat and turned itself off without me realising.

By playing with the registry I did manage to make visible under Sounds & Notifications /Event: the Low Battery warning settings (which has since disappeared again?) however when it was there I set a loud sound and checked repeat, but then the sounds at first come every few seconds (most annoying) when the battery had droped to 10% with their frequency gradually diminishing and then desisting after about 15 minutes (no good to me if I’m not in earshot during that 15 minutes) I would prefer them to continue indefinitely until I interact on the low battery warning.

Can anyone either help with the Reg Settings or suggest something to help please?

This should be a fairly coherent way of displaying/controlling the Low Battery warning on a Windows-6 PPC

1. Search for the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Notifications\{A877 D663-239C-47a7-9304-0D347F580408}\.

2. If you find this key, within it create a new String value, name it Default and set its value to Low battery warning.

3. Set Available Options to decimal (31)

4. Set Options to decimal (9) for a single warning, (25) for a repeated warning.

5. Now move to Start -> Settings -> Personal tab -> Sounds & Notifications applet -> Notifications tab, choose Low battery warning value from the Select an event drop-down menu and set whatever you want.

However the repeated warning is rubbish as at first it repeats annoyingly every 20 seconds tapering off to a final 5 minutes and then totally ceases. If someone could tell us how to amend this to repeating a warning perhaps only every 4 minutes this would be superb.
