Hi,

I've been searching around your forums and the wiki and I just purchased a HTC Touch 3G. I read the kaiser wiki on how to flash the kaiser and I figure the steps would be simliar. Will someone correct me if I am wrong?

If I were to want to run a custom ROM on my Touch 3g, I would follow these steps:

1.) Install HardSPL
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=483465

2.) Download RuRo (seems popular)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=486318

3.) CustomRUU - There seems to be information in the program that tells me how to do this, but what does RUU actually do? The readme pointed to the thread below, but no information. Does the RUU actually put the ROM on the phone?

Is there anything I seem to be missing? any small minor details that could FUBAR anything

Also, If I wanted to do anything with Manilla 2D customizer (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=427392), do I need to install Manilla 2D or is that defaultly installed on my phone already?

Thanks.

Hi,

You've got it all OK so far. :)

You might not need to download the custom RUU. It is normally included with the ROM download. If you just download an NHB image file, you'll need to download the Custom RUU to flash it via Actice Sync.

As for Manila 2D, it depends on the ROM. Some ROM's have it cooked in, some dont. Have a look at the ROM thread and screen shots. RuRo has it (see the top left piccie in the thread).

Hope this helps,
Dave
