Hi there,
My first ROM release.
I hope some of you like it.
As it is my first release I'd like to have feedback on it.

The ROM is cooked with the Phoenix Kitchen from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=476015

Wm6.1 21109 rom.

I wanted to make a fast and stable rom without things I didn't need like MS voice command. I also took out manilla2d and chose to use HTC home instead.
the rom had a 3g Dialer with full video calling support.
Included Programs are:
HTC audio manager, iContact, G-Alarm, Pocket Notepad, NoData, Opera, ms voip plugin, Pocket RAR, S2U2 1.62, MS office, Camera 5.xx, Quick Position,
Total Commander, Advanced Config, Connection Setup, 9 button action screen on long press send button, 8 button comm manager (same skin as Dialer), Hardware keyboard speed increase tweak.

I also included a few freeware games, Rhodium Ringtone package ( and took out most standard windows mobile ringtones). and I took some drivers/packages out for things I never used or thought not necessary, packages are (from SYS folder): IPSECVPN packages, IRDA, Onenote, Remote Desktop, Transcriber and MS voicecommand. (These should be installable with standard cab files.)

I get 82.68 MB total Program Memory after hard reset, and 47,82 free after installing everything I use (like Igo8) and softreset.
Pagepool is set to Dynamic (if anyone has any suggestions about pagepool I'd like to hear it.)

Some Registry tweaks from the standard Phoenix rom are also still included, like setting camera shutter delay and end call delay to 0 ms, glyphcache, powermanagement tweaks, added Igo8.exe to S2U2 exception list, Disabling sliding sound.

Credits go to the Phoenix Development team of course for releasing their rom and their kitchen and for answering my cooking questions!
To Anryl for the Original Port used by the phoenix Development team and to Bepe for releasing the great kitchen tools I used!

I also have to thank A_C for his work on making S2U2 even better with his new password protection and Notification add-on.

and of course everyone who released freeware programs/packages/cabs/anything else I didn't make myself...

Wonderful Mr.Josh, You are really a darling for novice like us. I was scared coz someone told me that modifying an already released ROM is not allowed. Thanks & Kudos to poster again.

I hope it's alright with them, as they released a kitchen with their rom as a basis....

congrats man...ill try it..sounds tight..

although i cant speak for parley p (the phoenix chef) that he will be alright with it or not...he is one hell of a nice guy, not just an amazing chef...and i dont think that he would mind this being a modification of the kitchen he released to everyone...but....i think maybe u could change the name?
u see calling it a "modified phoenix" is kinda confusing as ppl might think it has something to do with the original PHOENIX rom series...sorta like copyright infringement lol...

so i think maybe changing the name of ur rom....and then keep the explanation that it is based on the PHOENIX rom kitchen..

just my humble 2 cents

congratz again

haha, I don't think Parley would care, might want to give it your own name, so people don't get confused. Parley wouldn't have released a kitchen if he didn't want people to modify the ROM, if you make something good, release it. You credited us for the kitchen, which is credited to bepe and Anryl as well, so it's all good unless parley thinks otherwise.

I flashed this rom 4 times (each time with a lil change) and active sync works normally here,
I did have some problems with it a few days ago, but after going into task manager and shutting down "wcescomm.exe" "rapimagr.exe", shutting down active sync on my kaiser and then reconnecting problem was gone!

If problem stays, you can always flash from sdcard, just copy a rom to it,
rename it to KAISIMG.nbh and restart your kaiser

About a name... well if anyone has an idea, I didn't have much time to think of one cause I should be learning for a test tomorrow ;)

well if u call it the good rom it wont sound so cool...where as bonus...meaning "an extra thing or unexpected addition or gain or prize"...that sounds nice...and people would say: oh i get it!..."bonus coz his name is bonusbart"

I am happy to see this release. We want people to use the new tools and make better roms. As long as credit is given--on the origin of the rom/kitchen I have no issue with this. I do suggest that you think up a name for this instead of modified Phoenix. It is ok for the short run but really should be your creation.

Also, giving credit to Anryl for the original ports and Bepe for the tools would be a good idea.

About the name, I'll think of one, just hadn't had anytime yet. When I have time to make a splash screen and a theme for my rom I'll add a name to it so that it's really a "new" Rom

huh... thanks... that's the word that i'm looking for... just really forget the term... only remember "tri-color screen" and searching using it doesn't yeild any good result..

anyway, i can sync now.... problem with my laptop... (which is weird), flash tens of roms before....

I like this rom... fast and stable so far... with PDC and SpbDiary on the today screen, quickmenu as task manager, and batti... (and few other software)... i'm good to go...

thanks for good rom.... i've become so addicted that i flash every other rom that get posted, and i'm going to keep this for a while...(busy with schools)

I took some drivers/packages out for things I never used or thought not necessary, packages are (from SYS folder): IPSECVPN packages, IRDA,

sorry... just reread your first page, does anybody know what IPSECVPN is doing... Actually i flash with 6.1 (after playing alot with 6.5), because i want to connect to our university wifi network... on of the requirement before we could start browsing, is to connect to VPN....

if i already got a vpn client on my kaiser, can i get through? (i'll go to school in about an hour... then i can test...)

I need a seperate VPN programm to connect to the university's wifi, the build in vpn capability's suck...
I don't know what VPN server your university uses, but software like BluefireVPN worked for me (although not 100% stable) you can download a trial on their site.

just installed your rom. Love it. Really nice to use.

Theres only one thing i don't like... it didn't change the initial splash screen from the HyperDragon screen of my last rom :(

but yeah, great rom. If you ever need a mirror i've got a Rapidshare account that i'd host for you, just drop me a PM.

I just tried the BluefireVPN, but doesn't get through since i didn't know the exact setting... btw, i'm in japan, so finding a correct setting in a foreign language is a problem. for desktop they just use Cisco VPN client.

btw, i notice activesync running in background, eventough i closed it several times...

I noticed that too, active sync keeps restarting, I don't know why, I'll try to solve this in my next release ;)

About the VPN, send me an pm with more details, maybe I can help you there, I got some old profiles I could send you.

nevermind... i just give up try to use those vpn...

please look for activesync issue... i feel very comfortable using this rom... maybe it just need a little exposure, then only more people will try... or maybe not, it seems they are more excited about WM6.5...

other than that, i found i rather slow to switch between keyboards... i use lingvosoft japanese dictionary that switch keyboard automatically... they switched much slower than... ROMeOS...

anyway... i keep this longer than i keep the original pheonix...

I know everything about how shitty the WM vpn functions are...
I am glad my university now uses EduRoam besides their nomal vpn, this works perfectly.

About the active sync, I found a half solution for it in the Universal forum...
Open active sync and choose configure server(or add server?)
there just fill in "fake"everywhere to setup a fake server.
After that you can click the menu point "schedule" to setup the sync times.
If you set these to manual active sync shouldn't start up anymore.
(at least not as often as it did...)
this solved another solution for me, I set autodisconnect in Advanced config to 2 minutes, but this didn't work with active sync active.

I'll try to solve these problems before my next release, but I'm moving right now so I don't have a lot of time until next week:)

About wm6.5,I tried the Hyperdragon rom from SJ, but I didn't like it (wm6.5I mean, I love SJ's Roms, I flashed almost all of them since he started with HDIII series).I Just can't stand the new start menu and I think the Today plugin they made for it just sucks...
I hope it can be disabled in the full versions of wm6.5.. I must say I liked the new ie.

Can you be more specific about the keyboard issue? I use the hardware keyboard most of the time so it might be I just didn't notice it?
I just tried changing between keyboard/"block recognizer"/"Letter Recognizer/"symbol pad" but those change as fast as I remember from other roms...I think...

any other problems you noticed? or things I could/should change?

Re: Actice sync

I found this not sure if works as not got the problem but thought i'd post it for you to try.

another solution by bradipo.xda

I found that many of the latest ROM cooks of WM6.1 have the annoying issue of Activesync always starting itself every minute... i searched a lot and found the best common solution is the fake account with manual settings...
After playing around with the registry i managed to find a better way.
Just open your favourite registry editor and set the value:
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\ActiveSync\KeepAlive
to 0

Thanks for your tip, but I already searched the registry for a solution, and KeepAlive is already set to 0...
