How to customize the Chome WM 6.5 ROM

Here is a little tutorial to customize the Chome WM 6.5 ROM , this discovery is credited to sebastien13.
First go to Xda and download this tool:

It will enable / disable the tables and put in the order that suits you.

Disable Chome Today the once unzip the folder, copy "cmhomeres.dll.0409.mui" in Windows and "mxip_WWE_CHome_Programs.provxml" in My Documents. Launch "AdvancedConfig" Menu-Import. Provisioning XML, then click My Documents, the box at the bottom click mxip_WWE_CHome_Programs.provxml, wait 5 seconds and then "OK" and "Completed."
Today's Chome reactivate, you will have a "Programs" and in addition by dragging right or left 9 programs will appear.

You can also change the programs and the order among 9.
This example is for the left softkey:

This is exactly what was missing for me with CHome ... and I had been trying very hard to do this with the launcher panel in TitanWeather but with little success.

Quick word of warning to other users though -> Edit the Provisioning XML before you go and import it!
(lol, at least read the thing before you import it and then come one here posting complaints :p )

In it's current state it is a great example of how to customise your "Programs" panel but I imagine most people are going to prefer to keep "Contacts" as their SK1 key (whereas this xml will change that to be Calculator ... on every panel) ;)

I have been setting up the Programs panel, and I am trying to work out 2 things:

- What is the "ADC" page for? (i.e. why "ADC", not "page10"? can I just use any name? etc)

- Why is my "Page2" page no showing up?

I noticed that in the registry all of the other (visible) pages have two things under their reg entry:

(1) These two keys (although the PICTURES value ranges from 2500-2509)
"PICTURES"="2501"
"GUID"="{2F710F22-9F19-43fa-8F35-9927D246B078}"


(2) A sub folder called "0409" which seem to be remnants of the original WelcomeCenter panel. eg:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\CHome\CWelco meCenter\Page1\0409]
"TEXT2"="Set date and time"
"TITLETEXT"="Getting Started"
"TEXT1"="Clock"
"SK2TEXT"="View All"

:o Actually, nevermind about "Page2", I just fixed that by manually creating the GUID and PICTURES keys myself (GUID is the same for all of them and I just gave it the PICTURES value of 2502).

Still curious what the deal is with "ADC" ... :confused:

Also trying to find if there is a way to set specific icon pics for each Page (instead that default one from the original WelcomeCenter pages).

I found that you can keep importing the provxml into AdvancedConfig over and over (whenever you make changes). No problems.

I have a problem :( i have xda2 6.5 on my wizard ,and i installed Chome configurator and titanium customizer , and pretty much messed up the things is there a way different than a hard reset that i can restore my chome default settings and try again :) thanks !

For me i deselect CHome but ican't copy the file in the windows folder, i always got an error (file already in use) ?
I try to softreset with chome desactivated but it hasn't worked.

Total Commander is good for copying files to /Windows as you can do it without needing to browse /Windows (which takes a long time to refresh dir list).

1) Either select file and click "File" menu, then choose "Copy/Move" OR
hold-click on file and choose "Copy/Move"

2) When "Copy/Move" window comes up, click "Tree" button and select /Windows as destination (will be listed as /Windows/*.* )

3) Click "Copy" button

To disable CHome you have unchecked "Windows Default" item in "Items" tab of Settings-->Today ?

This also happened to me, but a typo in the file was to blame. Fixed the file and all was well again

What is your Rom ? If you have a shortcut in Programs you can try this :
\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\your program name.lnk

I am using your cool WWE ROM, (WM 6.5 OS 21202) duke! As I mentioned, your ROM makes my Trinity reborn! :)
I mean, how can I go to the Speed Dial dialog screen directly, without first launch the phone dialpad and then click the "Speed Dial" button?

is not simple and intuitive but it was exactly what I was looking for!
this tool with the WM 6.5 rom is really excellent!
inserting different address on "TEXT2" "TITLETEXT" "Text1" and "SK2TEXT" "SK2URL", you can run less than 17 different programs!

I am having the same problem.
I already have opera and weather panels done.
And Would like to know if this typo is messing mine up too.
