imo IE is buggie on every 6.1 rom on the wings (i.e. in xuque and alcalyne roms) so if you couldn't fix this issue, could you definitly and totally replace IE with opera (not mini)?

Opera Mini Has The LCD Font Bug It Seems.
Opera Isnt Free And I Dont Want To Include Trial Software.
IE Is Working But Behaves As Though Its A Pocket Pc Version. (No Way To Select Links)
Also The Comm Manager Wont Let Me Toggle Wifi Mode When Skinned.

which kind of kitchen are you using to cook your rom ??? I've a lot of problem with mine, I'm able to extract all the XIP, OEM and SYS, but I try to 'cook' I have a problem with g'reloc ....

Also Switching The JBED Allows Opera Mini Without The LCD Font Bug.
Im Going To Try To Replace IE With Opera Mini.
Hopefully A Beta Should Be Available Later.

which version of SmartToolkit have you running on your S730? I have an older version for my HP 514, but it won´t work on S730. I use the ROM 20279 and it works great. But with SmartToolkit... :rolleyes:

Btw, what´s the difference between the 96dpi Rom and the other? The resolution?

96DPI Jus Scales Things Down So You Can Fit More On The Screen. (Shrinks Most Aspects Of The Gui)

I just cant wait to be able to test new version. I have just flashed to orginal rom, when I found critical bug in Alcaline version - in video call, there was something strange going on with camer. First fiew seconds, video was fine, after that - like in night mode or something. About browser - I had an idea, that you can set Skyfire (http://www.skyfire.com/) as default browser. It is free.

yeah skyfire is a right substitute for IE, it allow to view some flash site and to see the videos on youtube.
it is free and run as a charm on wings.

Sorry For The Delay. Ive Spent The Last 3 Days Or So Installing 64Bit Gentoo Linux On My Laptop.

Just Tried SkyFire For The First Time And It Seems Pretty Good.

The Problem I Have With Both SkyFire And Opera Mini Is That They Wont Access My Internal Network Sites As They Use Their Own 'Proxy' Servers.

The Commanager WIFI Bug Is Fixed. (AFAIK):rolleyes:
The Rose PhoneCanvas Is No Longer Overlaying Its Gfx. (Im Sure It Used To):confused:

Im Going To Have To Configure My Dual-Boot And Boot Vista To Apply Some Tweaks To The Beta.

Hopefully This Will Be Tonight. (Probably Quite Late As Im Up Pretty Darn Late):p

Good News Is My ISP Has Recently Improved My Internet Connection So The Upload Shouldnt Be A Pain.:)

The Upload Was A Pain Due To Mediafire Uploads Crashing Firefox Under Linux.

Comm Manager Is Working Without Issue For Me. ( It Was A Bit Funny Until After The First Few Reboots)
Wireless Toggle Is Installed So Just Hold The Comm Manager Button To Enable Wifi If Your Having Issues Enabling WiFi.:)

yes the boot take a long time but
works fine, fast and stable

volume system is really cool!
audio manager panel instead of the wmp is perfect!
weather panel works!

i have a problem using modaco nodata to kill the gprs connections (ie the autoupdate weather)... it give me an error
the settings shortcuts in comm manager doesn't work
i am sorry that the rose phonecanvas doesn't work, but it doesn't really matter

finally this is a great beta, i like it, i'll use till the next version :D

Oké, thats funny. wifi is enabled after long press on commbutton, but in comm manager itself, it is in grey. Anyway, I have wifi back :).

Now the folowing issue. I am able to enable bluetooth, but I am not able to pair. I can't get in the bluetoothmenu. In comm manager I click ''settings'' than ''Bluetooth'' and than nothing happens.

Any idea?

Great ROM, Ilike very much the 96dpi, just a few things like games are missing (I've got only the shortcuts), weather won't work for me.

@znial : the 3g umts hsdpa features are working fine for me alltough I had to install HTC NetworkWizard (the one I use on my BlueAngel) to set up my provider.

WiFi was grayed out in commmanager but after several softresets is was there functional????strange.

I think by removing WMP you also have romoved A2DP.
Could that be?

I can't get music with my stereoheadset.

After installing a cab I found here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=277352&page=2), I am able to listen to my music via bluetooth.

I Would Like You All To Know That This Is My First ROM For The Wings, Not To Mention The First Rom Ive Ever Ported.
Im Not An Expert At Cooking Roms, Just A 23 Year Old Computer Enthusiast With A Lot Of Experience With Fiddly Computer Issues Etc.

I Have Been Unemployed Since December And That Is What Has Given Me The Time To Do This.

The Rom Itself Is Ported From The Vox 20757 96DPI Kitchen With Heavy Modification To Enable Its Use On The Wings.

Games Werent Included In This Rom,
The "Solitaire" And "Getting Started" Links Are Merely A Cached Registry Of Recently Loaded Start Menu Programs,
As Such Dissapear After You Have Used A Few Apps.
(This Was Going To Be One Of The Final Tweaks That I Didnt Have Time To Do.)

I Am Aware Of The CommManager Settings Links Doing Nothing.
(Probably Not A Big Issue To Fix)

The WiFi Bug As Mentioned Seems To Fix Itself After A Few SoftResets.
(Probably Need To Fix Both These Bugs With A Different Version Of CommManager But Since This Bug Seems Intermittant Its Been Hard To Find What Causes It)

WMP Has Not Been Removed, This Is Probably Just A Missing A2DP Driver.
(Shouldnt Be To Big An Issue But This Is Something I Definately Require For My Bluetooth Car Stereo.)

The Weather Plugin Can Be Set To Manual Update. (Thats The Way I Use It Due To Only Having My WIFi For Internet Access)

The Dialer Is Bugged And I Dont Belive It Supports Video Call As Is Atm,
(Phone Calls And SMS Work, Arcsoft MMS Is Included But I Haven't Tested It)

This Is Probably Another Small Issue, (Most Likeley A Bug With The T9 Input System)

yes, the keylock is missed in the quicklaunch, but you can do long press on the red button (hang on) to lock the keyboard
(or set an autolock with smarttoolkit)

Was it always a standard function for WM? I use WM for over 2 years, and now you learned me that long press red button gives me keylock :p.

I had solved this problem with an app called ''automatic keylock''.

But thanks for your advice. long press red button is way quicker than 30secs automatic :p. And setup 10secs automatic keylock could be iritatable (is that a word? :p), that would be too quick.

(This Is What Took The Longest, I Had All Sorts Of Problems With The Qwerty Keyboard Not Working)
Lock Item Has Been Added To The QuickList.
PhoneCanvas Is Working Too.

Internet Explorer Should Have Worked But I Forgot To Include The Keymap So Its Still Unusable Atm.
(This Is Easily Fixed And Will Be In Beta3)

The Password Is The Same As This IS Still A Beta Rom.

Yep I've got the same problem with playing music in WMP and AudioManager, .wave files seems to play in both players.
Besides the other already mentioned bugs its a very nice ROM!!!!

edit : the CorePlayer does play music (MP3).

1. The system text is small.
2. The power management is not working.
3. The wifi button in comm manager is not working if connected to computer (Activesyn).
4. The settings in the camera is not there, only digits are appearing.
5. the encryption is missing.

a little walkthrough to use wifi with device connected to AS:

wi fi works with s730 connected to AS
but you have to toggle wifi with a long press of commmanager button
(cuz the link in comm manager doesn't work if you are connected to the pc)
then you'll connected to pc with wifi on

how to change or remove the slidingqqwerty sound? i cannot find it in the sounds settings...

Weird Bug With Mp3 Playback.
Im Trying To Track It Down But Is A Difficult One.
The Strange Thing Is If You Rename The File Extension to .mp3d The File Plays.

The System Text Being Small Isnt A Bug Its A Feature This Rom Is 96Dpi.

System Encryption Is Something I Dont Bother With As It Can Cause Many Problems Including Loss Of All Data.

Looks Like Ive Messed Up My Kitchen Building Beta2.
I Changed The Rom Base And As Such Have Brought Many Problems To Beta2.

Beta 3 Will Take A While As I Try To Stabalise My Rom Base.

yeah OllieD a part the mp3 playback problem (i am going to rename the hundreds of mp3s on my sdhc ^^) this is the great rom i have ever tried
i really like the new iconbar, the new phnecanvas and the 96dpi is wonderfull (text isn't little imo... everything is littler, and more clear! de gustibus non est disputandum)

I also noticed that when i connect the headphones, it shows half headphones icon in the iconbar and the sound is comming only in one side.

Hello Ollie, thanks for your hard work so far. Unfortunatelly, I see few major problems with beta 2 - first, there is nothing but white screen when you dial out the number or contact - I assume this is because of white text on whitew background. The other one is, when receiving call, the screen I get is full of garbage - avatar is broken, text is misplaced. however this time its black text on white backgroung so I can guess whos calling. The third one - the system font is reallly small to be read on dailight. Maybe a suggesting - could you make both 96 and 122 dpi versions?
Or - is there a chance to swithch from 96 to 122 DPI on running system?

There's one thing for me and one thing for you I think you might want to hear...
Browsing in IE isn't possible (for me anyway) because it doesn't highlight the links.

The second thing is the Mini Opera, which works great btw, but when I entered GMAIL I ran into your (or someone's anyway) mailbox because cookies were set..... :eek::eek::eek:

Pls anyone, Remove cookies from Opera at once!!!!
or better - change your password whoever is owner of the mailbox...

Do anyone knows whether I can have Traditional Chinese (TC) inputs selection like this in this 6.1 rom? Here I have my phone using regional settings "Hong Kong" and "English" language, I could choose to input Chinese like this. (DSC06274)

The "TC CJ" IME is all I need.

Also, I wonder if anyone could test for me by visiting "hk.yahoo.com" with Opera Mini, to see if Chinese characters could be displayed correctly as in my picture (DSC06275)

I've just installed it, works great so far, everything is working. Gonna try soon to put the LEng for Enabling Hebrew and if that works, then it's perfect for me! :D
EDIT: Found that i can't play MP3's using nither Windows Media Player or the Audio Manager, but i can play with TCPMP, also it seems to be rather full (can you guys do one without that voice control?) and hardly space free for anything to be installed :-/

and No there are NO italian (lang, t9 and keyboard layout) you could add your languages dictionaries but you cannot translate the system language...

Are you still working on it? Thanks for beta 2, I'm currently using it and it's fine apart few problems...
1. Won't connect to hidden Wi-fi network.
2. Can't shut the keyboard sliding sound.
3. Even using Oxios CloseApps I can't manage getting more than 13 MB of free RAM (after soft reset); after 1 day of usage I couldn't get more than 3 MB of free RAM.
4. Smarttoolkit RC09 won't work for me; RC08 works just fine!
