New forums are REALLY hard to stay with.

How about a forum for upcoming devices like the Toshiba TG01

Also, might be worth having it work for unregistered users initially. So that you get some comments on. Most people (including me) don't feel like registering on a forum unless it has a significant amount of content to it.

I'd suggest leaving it as unregistered posts allowed initially, with some anti spam measures switched on and heavy screening (assuming you have time). Later of when/if it becomes established, then registered only could be looked at.
