GPS is in the hardware - either you got it or it's broken.
What rom and radio are you running?

That's all standard HTC supplied stuff so that won't be your problem then.
What navigation software do you have installed? Tom Tom, CoPilot etc?

No additional driver needed. Try to activate the gps in google map, it's the easiest way to test it.

HTC does not make hardware modifications to phones sold in Egypt. They use registry settings and remove certain DLL files in order to disable the GPS chip. Once you flash to a generic HTC WWE ROM, your GPS chip will work.

Erf ok... Sorry for the bad advice ^^
About installing a ROM you can begin here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=381600).
About the ROM you could try this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=472351) or this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=459826) for example.

It's possible that there will be a problem with your product warranty when you change to a custom rom. There cab never be a problem with your operator. You can apply any operator you like to any custom rom. There is one very important step though, you have to perform a hardspl before you flash a new custom rom!!!!!

Just a few more questions before i set go. First of all i will hard SPL . Then iw will download a custom rom and flash my mobile with it. like i was thinking this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=459826&page=3 .
Is there any other thing i have to do , also is there any good custom rom for my polaris that you might have and recommend. Also i have read that after flashing HARD-SPL , its recommeneded to flash some original ROM before CUSTOM ROM. So is that really needed or its just with someCUSTOM ROMS. Also what if i want to download WWE WM6.1 Original can i do that ? ( i cant download this from HTC Website , cuz they say device is not supported) . Thanks for your help /.

In fact I'm using the rom you where thinking of (the full version of 3lit3 VI) and I'm very pleased with it. Very stable with nice apps. There's a build in tomtom version 7.910 and it works good. Furthermore no real bugs in this rom. It's in fact true that you'd better flash a official rom first beacause the custom rom is often more stable then. You can find the links here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=431738. You must download the file to your pc and run the RUU (by double clic) from there with your Cruise connected with active sync.
Good luck.
