Hi, brothers! Today i make new ROM from 'Snap' build 21040. I'm will be test it 2 days and if all be ok i'll upload it at wednesday (I have no an opportunity to upload it earlier). Now don't worked bt, i'm will be make it. Maybe i find some bugs else. Also i will be added some progs. This version of ROM inc english only. Maybe later i'm inc over langs.

The year is not taken in consideration. By exemple the messages sent in December (12) 2008 are showed after the messages sent in April 2009 (04)...

Hey I have noticed a couple of things after install and a hard reset

1.) the wireless network driver is not loaded thus causing it not to turn on in com manager

2.) did you use the page pool app, because it did increase the amount of memory on the device but the internet moves twice as slow and so does the rest of the apps. is that the drawback to having more memory? Or is it just me

3.) this is minor but you have like 2 or 3 start up images that shows up before you get to the home page

4.) what is the Sim sap setting? what does it do?

5.) It would be nice to have the rest of the chome apps and Opera Mini that are included in the rose 1.7a ROM.

6.) could you please tell me the difference between the new snap ROM and the old one?

7.) oh BTW is the keyboard setup in English or European, i asked that because I was trying to setup my email and the keyboard would not respond correctly. It would give me a different letter than what i wanted

You need copy wifiinit.lnk from windows dir to startup dir or just run this app.

No, i didn't use it, but i think PP was changed before me. I can change PP back to 12 Mb.

I don't know what does it do. Just i don't del it- its standart app and maybe somebody use it.

It is unique Snap ROM for Excalibur. Old versions does not exist.

3. In the next version I will move WiFiInit in Startup dir.
4. Snap Comm Manager is inconvenient in use.
5. Options eT9 - at typing press Fn+Spase, there will be a eT9 menu and come in Settings.

PIE seemed to act strange not able to select every link on page using the preset live or Google.
Infact to get Opera Mini in end used direct address.
Opera Mini not able to install the signed version "Will have play and try and find my old Java to see if that's the issue?"

Pagepool can also be changed by user by using the attached Pagepool Changer, extract the .exe with 7-zip then open up PagePool_Changer.exe navigate to .nbh you will see on 4.5 change to what want press change to, now flash via normal process.

This is also the reason why I'm not thrilled with the maple/snap/captain (whatever you want to call it). There's nothing special about this but, a clean looking rom, a lot like the rose rom. I think we're hitting a plateau on the 6.1 roms. :(
I want to make it clear , I apreciate and give mayor props to all the chefs and the people that work hard to make this happen, I know these roms are a lot of work, but does anyone remember the feeling of a leap forward, or upgrade if you will, when you went from 6.0 to 6.1? Big difference. I dont see that anymore, even though these roms are different , they are still too similar. (for my taste):)

Because you get the best of both worlds.

Well, this ROM is built on the 21040 core, while the Rose ROMs are built on 20282... though I'm not very sure what the differences between the two would be.

Maybe Alek or Styles can fill us in on the benefits of the new core... if there are any? :)

For what it's worth, I'm always interested in new ROMs.

Alek, great rom! i like how clean and stable it is. i loaded it last night so about 12 hours of testing so far. one thing i can't get to work is WLAN. it says the "Driver is not loaded." in the connection status under WLAN settings. other than that, i have not ran into any other issues.

So can we start hearing some impressions from those of you who have flashed to this ROM? Perhaps comparisons with the Remade Rose v1.7? How's the 4.5mb pagepool working out (it slowed down the Rose rom a lot)? What applications are included? etc...

Also, if someone could explain the differences between the two cores, that would be great.

Oh and AlekSS, is it possible that you could upload the rom as a rar/zip file instead of the exe so we can manually change the pagepool sizes to what we want?

Just unzip .exe, run PagePool_Changer.exe and press 'Select' button. Select path to RUU_signed.nbh from unzipped .exe. Set pagepool size and click 'Change to' button. After it you can flash rom with changed PP.

post #54 is a working download link. its in chinese when u first install but the zip file offers a batch file which will switch it to english for you after the install is done and phone is synced. oh and your going to want to change the "Locale" under "regional settings".

I have that problem too. When setting up my hotmail account it got to step 2 and it kicked me back to the home screen.

I have a standard battery and sitting on my desk with little to no service by the end of the day I have about 92% left. I go home and play with it for a hour or two with the wifi on and end up with 70% before I recharge it over the night.
I haven't seen the random battery draining problems I had with all of the versions of NRG's rose rom. Seems to be more stable but 2 days is too soon to tell. Its not quite as responsive but I haven't seen the frequent hanging I did with the rose rom. The installation was smooth everything worked the first time except the wifi and hotmail.

While I agree that NRG's rom looks great I don't think that it's cool to talk up a rom that's not the rom that the thread is devoted to. Just doesn't seem, er, friendly.

There is no hatred, the point in question is adverising on someone elses thread, i'm glad there are new ROM's so don't take it personal as my point would have been made to anyone crossing ovet to a new thread to point to there ROM, no mention of competition...........
If i did have hatred towards you then there would be a reason? i don't as don't give a stuff, nuff said.

Not to rehash this, but I don't get you guys... he simply responded to another poster's comment about wanting a new ROM. Why call him out for that? He didn't say anything playing up his ROM as being better or anything like that.

If he had started denigrating this ROM and touting his as better, etc., then I'd see your points. But all I'm seeing is that some of you have a hard time letting bygones be bygones and are still holding an animus toward each other.

Just my $0.02... not looking for a response.

I am currently using NRG's newest ROM. I've got no beef with him or anyone else. My only point was that, in my opinion, it's not cool. For example, I like McDonald's but I wouldn't go into Burger King and tell the folks in there that McDonald's is better.

there is no problem with that its just an opinion all roms are great in a way depend on the person which one they like or comfortable with

It is difficult enough for readers to wade through what will inevitably become a long thread looking for information on the ROM without having to deal with added noise.

Maybe your wifi driver is not loaded :confused: have tried a hard reset? Make sure you the wifiinit.ink is in startup windows folder and also the wifiinit.exe
