SMS Bugs I need help..!

Hi , i have a problem sending SMS, i write in spanish, the mostly words have "´" for example "día" , "Canción" , etc , when y write this words the chars counter reduce the amount so much, one SMS has 160 caracters , well when i use this words , it reduce to 20, for example:

Here i am using the same word " dia " can you see SMS-chat show "1 SMS (109)"

its a big diference in the same word, i test in 5 diferents ROMS and i have the same problem, and when the other person receive the SMS its arrive in Two or Three litlle parts, i hope anyone can suggest something with my problem.

I reread your post and now I have an idea of what may be the issue. The SMS protocol only has a limited number of bits to work with. When using "normal" english characters it can consist of 160 7-bit characters. When using international characters the system must use a different character set which uses many more bits per character. According to Wikipedia it is limited to 70 16-bit characters. There may be other overhead as well. 20 characters does seem much lower than 70 characters but your normal 120 characters is also low compared to 160 characters.

Main point: avoid using international characters to be able to send longer messages.

Hi, i fix the image, can you see the bugs now? the bugs happends with chars like "Ñ" to ,when the SMS arrive to other person only see rare chars
