So I haven't upgraded a Titan in while, but a friend wanted me to upgrade his. It's a US Cellular and I put DCD Reloaded on it and forgot it didn't include the radio. so here's what's going on.

As I said before I put DCDs 4 Reloaded.
I had loaded Nuespl 2.47, BUT now THr bootloader is saying it's back too SPL 1.07.0000.
The RADIO is 1.64.00.
THe ROM is 3.2.6.

It stuck on the HTC load screen. I have tried to load the 3.42.50 Radio via SD, but it will say loading and nothing happens. The SD is formatted FAT32 with 1024 allocation. Being US Cellular I don't have access to the stock ROM. Soooo, in short what do I do from here?

Did you name the radio TITAIMG.nbh for flashing with micro sd? What you could do is re-flash the bootloader (use olipro 2.40). When that is done flash a Official Sprint ROM GPS v 3.35 and up. Then flash the titan reloaded or whatever GPS enabled rom you are flashing.

Hope this helps, I would guide you through all the steps but I am exhausted. You can find all that stuff by searching here or ppcgeeks. The olipro 2.40 is on my share site. Sprint ROMS you can get some from htc and some from searching forums.

I have been trying that. OK so with the SD flash which I have never done before this time. Do I put the Unlocker and the Radio on the card at the same time or do I do them one at a time? Thanks in advance.

One at a time. It is not possible to have two files named exactly a like on a card at the same time.

Ok but the unlocker and the Radio DO have different names. Though I have been trying to added them one at a time, however on the bootloader screen it will say "loading" for either half a second or will freeze on "loading". The end result is still nothing changing, same SPL and same Radio. Im following ever thing to the T form the wiki, but it doesn't seem to work as they say it will.

I do this and it doesn't "update" anything I formated the SD in FAT32 w/ 1024 allocation, put the unzipped unlocker onthe card boot the phone in to the boolaoder mode it will load for like a half second and go back to the bootlaoder but the SPL doesn't update it stays stock 1.07.0000. I don't get what I'm missing?

I really don't know what unlocker you are using. But I haven't heard of an unlocker that can be run in bootloader. For example 2.47 can be opened in WM. I thought you might have found the .nbh for a unlocker but it sounds like you are putting a zip file on the card which won't work.

I'm following these instructions.

Upgrade via the microSD (<=2GB) card
(Thanks to No2Chem - donate here)

IMPORTANT: The nueROM web site indicates that nueSPL version 2.47 is designed for the HTC Titan with GPS enabled only (ROM versions 3.xx or higher). Any other device will be permanently and irreversibly damaged by this version of boot loader. (Please use your OEM's latest signed radio ROM to get to this version or higher before trying to install.)

Copy the nueSPL-2.47.exe file from the nueSPL-2.47 package onto your device. (A PDF file with instructions is also included in the package.)
Using File Explorer, run the nueSPL-2.47 application from where you copied it, read the license agreement, then press CONTINUE if you accept.
Read the prerequisite screen carefully. If it indicates that you do not have a FAT32 formatted partition, you will need to format your microSD card by pressing FORMAT (WARNING: this will erase any data on the microSD card).
If you meet all of the requirements, press CONTINUE. It will take approximately 10 seconds for nueSPL to copy the TITAIMG.nbh ROM to your microSD card, then nueSPL will automatically reboot your phone in order to load the ROM.
After the reboot, you will be prompted to press the POWER button to begin updating the new SPL boot loader. Once the installation is complete, the phone will reboot.
Allow your phone to fully reboot. Once your phone is rebooted, open File Explorer and inspect to see if your storage card contains the file TITAIMG.nbh. If it is present, delete it before continuing.
Press and hold the CAMERA and POWER buttons at the same time and hold down the RESET button (with stylus) until you enter a multi-color bootloader screen. You should see a screen that says SPL-2.47No2Chem Titan SPL EVT. If you see this text, your SPL has been sucessfully updated. If you do not, press the RESET button and start over from step 1.

I don't get where I'm going wrong?

Are you able to boot to windows to even run the .exe?

gator2k83
16th April 2009, 10:35 PM
if you are unable to boot the phone bc the rom and radio do not match and you say that the spl is stock you won't be able to change it to unlock without being able to boot into the phone to flash the proper spl onto it to ublock it. Here is what your choices are.

Go to HTC's website http://www.htc.com/us/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=75&cat=2&dl_id=73 scroll to the bottom of this page select the sprint tv win mobile 6.1 upgrade and then a us server then click download.

Let the file download.

Run the file and let it get to the welcome to the rom update utility screen. Minimize the window do not close it.

Go to my computer and do a search for RUU_signed.nbh you should see one come up in the list if not you need to find your computers temp folder inside of your user profile. For example mine is C:\Users\Gator\AppData\Local\Temp (windows 7 vista and xp might be named a little different) inside that folder in the same search again.

Once you find that file rename it and to TITAIMG.nbh and load it onto your sd card. Put the card in the phone and put it in the boot loader mode Power + Camera held down + push the reset button in. The phone should load the rom and you will see the press the power button to begin the update.

This should work because the rom is signed.

Upon the first boot of the phone calibrate the screen yada yada. When u see the device will automatically customize in 3 seconds soft reset the phone.

Take the storage card out and put the nue spl 2.47 file on it. Run that to unlock the phone if it does not work it just means u need to load .net 3.5 on the phone b4 running the utility. http://rapidshare.de/files/39254419/NETCFv35.wm.armv4i.cab.html

Once you are unlocked and good to go u can now download whatever rom ie the dcd reloaded rom. Take the file zip or rar open it copy out the RUU_signed.nbh file rename to TITAIMG.nbh load it on sd card and do the bootloader process it will flash and u are good to go.

That would be the best way to do it i think as trying from the computer always leads to complications with the operating system or the user or the ppc giving you update errors.

You can try if you cannot locate the RUU_signed.nbh (that gets placed in a temp folder). To put the phone in the bootloader with it hooked up to the pc you will see it say usb @ the bottom instead of serial. Load the sprint udate utility that you downloaded and go through all the checks and nexts till it tries to update the phone. It will not show the current rom info but it should be able to flash the phone as all the utility does is put it in bootloader anyway b4 flashing.

Good Luck.

It's giving me an "Invalid Vendor" error. THe phone is a US Cellular model.

Also is there any way to go about this via usb from the booloader screen? The bootloader is stock 1.07.000.

Thank you all for your help, I've done this all before RIGHT but now that I have a Vogue I'm a bit spoiled but the ROM/Radio combos.

You cannot flash that new sprint rom and radio with that bootloader. Simple. I told you put olipro 2.40 on there via its own RUU. Its a exe how simple? Then you can simply from there flash a gps radio using RUU or MicroSD, Then flash a custom GPS enabled ROM using RUU or MicroSD. Each file needs done one at a time obviously. For RUU flashing the .nbh file should be named or renamed RUU_signed.nbh, for using MicroSD the .nbh file should be named or renamed to TITAIMG.nbh

And here is a PM I sent lacrizzle

Make sure your computer has htc drivers on it first. Then plug the phone into the computer and make sure it connects to active sync. Then run the OliPro 2.40 unlocked bootloader. Then install official sprint ROM with gps Radio, Then flash custom ROM, then change spc code to all zeros. Its not that difficult.

You could also try extracting the .nbh from the Olipro 2.40 exe. Some exe's have extractable contents and some are not. Use winrar, or 7zip. Olipro.exe is extactable and you will fine the .nbh in there. Then rename that to TITAIMG.nbh and flash using microsd method. This way seems to work when people are really really having problems. Then complete the other steps to get back to custom ROM.

There is no need for him to install a Sprint rom that wouldn't help him any. Unzip and add put the attached 2.47 Nue unlocker .nbh on your sd card and put the phone in bootloader. After the new bootloader is installed just update your radio by sd card and you are good to go.

Any reason why It took you four posts to realize a solution for the guy? Now all of a sudden you know of a unlocker that can be ran via micro sd in bootloader. Now all of a sudden you know the stock sprint ROM will not help him any.

Well seems like you may have been doing a little reading, and re-emphasizing since then.

We are all eager to help and are providing different solutions until his problem is fixed. I have posted and PMed the user several solutions including updating the bootloader first then the radio, then the custom ROM. Hopefully with all of our answers and knowledge the user will get his problem sorted out.

It is the same unlocker as before I just took the time to extract the .nbh from the .exe of the unlocker.

RyanMogul

Whats the chances you found out that you could extract the .nbh from my post above? Then just applied it to the no2chem 2.47 unlocker?

You could also try extracting the .nbh from the Olipro 2.40 exe. Some exe's have extractable contents and some are not. Use winrar, or 7zip. Good work though, maybe flashing the 2.47 unlocker via micro sd will work out for the user. I always use olipro but I guess thats personal preferrence.

To bad that wasn't the case since this .exe is a wm executable so I wasn't following your instructions. Sorry about your luck

RyanMogul
17th April 2009, 05:50 PM
Very true, I didnt know that it was a WM exe. But like I already said I may have turned you on to the idea of extracting the .nbh from there wether you can use traditional methods or not. I also have never used that (from what I hear and read) buggy no2chem 2.47 unlocker.

drewcam888

But like I am saying you didn't turn me onto anything.

RyanMogul
17th April 2009, 05:57 PM
drewcam888 you are right I did not turn you on to that idea. In fact, you knew that 2.47 was a WM exe and I did not. So I take back everything I said. drew obviously knows his stuff, about extracting exe's and such.

He took it to another level as described below though.. If you read all the posts of his on this Forum, they are all bantering, and disagreeing, and you didnt do it right kind of deals. So he didnt take very kindly to me giving the same attitude that he gives to others to him. So much as to go into my threads and rate them all 1.

You are very sad for rating my ROM's and you are not even using them.. Thats ok, least I have ROM's and real work I can call my own. Not just bantering throughout peoples threads like yourself.

Good luck, but I forgot to ask or mention because I figured you knew.

Is the Micro SD card you are using to flash 2gb and under? The unlocked bootloader will not work right with a card larger than 2gb.

Maybe this will help you sort it out.

Still not working and yes I'm using a 512mb SDcard, Formatted to FAT32 w/ 1024 allocation. Says loading, but againnothing happens after that. Same SPL as before 1.07.0000. Maybe if some one could post a stock ROM compatible with the 1.07.0000SPL, I can get to load back in to Windows to unlock it to load the correct Radio and ROM. Just a thought, however the it needs to be able to load to a US Cellular phone. When I tried a stock Sprint ROM I got a "Invalid Vendor Error" in the RUU load mode.

Below is a link to a verizon rom for that old bootloader. Just don't let customizations run after it installs.
Unzip RUU and place RUU_Signed.nbh in the RUU folder. Then run ROMUpdateUtility.exe. Don't worry about the relocker.

It looks like you are having issues...It looks like the bootloader WANTS to load the rom file. It sounds like it just is not locating it.

I see that you have FAT32/1024...

Are you absolutely sure that you are naming the rom file TITAIMG.nbh (Note that is not TITANIMG.nbh?)

I had that issue in the past... Another thing to try, make sure that you have windows set to SHOW file types. You might unknowingly be naming it TITAIMG.NBH.RUU (or similar)

If my tips did not help, or you have already tried, then i apologize....
