hold POWER/SUSPEND button and press RESET with stylus pen
be sure to backup cos it will erase all data (programs, contacts and etc)

hi this is raju reformat ur imate-jam? then instal windows mobile 6.0(OS) in your device. i done it yesterday it is good working and goodlooking simple to do it.

hardreset=power+reset(before done it backup all ur data

i just want to ask that what kind of data is lost on reformat??
all the phone memory,memory card or anything else?

i happen to stumble upon this thread and saw your post.
something went wrong with my imate. i connected it to the pc via usb then the pc detected it and asked if i want to format it. i dont know if it was talking about the phone or the internal memory. i formatted it and then poof! the screen goes red blue and green. i've tried to turn it on a couple of times but the screen is still stuck to RBG. the memory card only had my files (songs and such) so i dont think it matters. the phone memory has it all (utilities, etc.)
please advise. thanks.

you try a soft reset ==> press the power button with the stylus reseter,,, your device must be normal again Okey korume :p
