request how to do a backup of an htc opal and how to extrackt spl etc..

i have just bought an mda basic, the opal t-mobile branded, this smatphone mount the system 1.35 and also the spl 1.35, i want to change the language and so in order to to this i must extract my rom so as to take the spl and the otjer thing, in this way i can change the my spl whit another rom whit an spl older and the game is done....
but how i can do this backup... please help me...
