keyboard. Currently its englisch per default , i wanted to change it to german
layout - but the option is missing.

1. install fingerkeyboard2 to support Russian input.
2. install inesoft phone to support Russian input in the phone
3. make a menu in the 4 column
I suggest you consider the option of inclusion in your firmware 4 columns menu by default.
In attach - menu screenshot and file with changes

btw, run 1st menu item after so changes take effect (currently only keyboard issue) or simply restart...

thanks, but to me it looks a bit to much...
since its a simple personal thing, why dont u just make a cab, make a folder called autoinstall in memory card root, put that cab in it and let the magic happen ;)

some questions i want to ask:
1) what about config tool for Sense shell?
unfortunately, wm6.5 default home shell is not useful to read, compose and manage SMS, and Sense have too much useless (for me) tabs.
maybe you do not need to add it to ROM and url will be enough.
i've found out in advanced config (more settings -> TouchFLO 3D), but it does not work for your Sense version.
2) what do you think about this:

Thank you for your work.You seem to be the last dev dedicated to Polaris working to make it better even if this device becomes older regarding what HTC has recently released...i keep mine because i love "play" with and it i use it for my daily work.
The rom looks fast and very responsive just after reboot (i've just flashed it) even if it is marked as a beta version.

- Volume ... does not show at the first flashed, but has no problem after reboot once.

- Word ... I tried to make defualt to save on storage. But it can not change, except Excel. Not sure because of Office or ROM.

Email issue: yes, kind of a lot when slide up-down the list of email.
But no problem when read the body message

and thx for word issue. ^^

note: I do not sure the ROM will be concerned with the GPS signal or not, except radio. But it seems faster to capture the Sat. on the same radio with the older rom.

standard behavior is lock on screen off...delete shortcut on startup folder and it will not lock...

1.59.xx.xx was made for polaris above that i dont recommend cause its normally kaiser port...but since some work...just try another radio version...

its not a rom issue, and 29020 is lastest rom, its radio related...1.65.38.14 is not the same as 1.64.08.21...all 1.64.xx.xx are kaiser ports...

2. Sound was an issue..but not too low as in the earlier ROM. However had to disable the dll to bring back normal volume behavior.

A major bug appeared at least on my phone: Suddenly I could not have a speaker phone conversation because he couldn't hear me.After several attempts I gave up and I installed the alpha rom and problems resolved.
From what I noticed the battery life of rom beta is less than alpha rom.
And I repeat again, the phone is loaded with unnecessary programs that will not ever use them.

- extract mscr file (TitaniumWeather) below and copy into the folder where you installed the weather program on your device
- to determine the location of weather --> open weather options -- > and enter your city location code in column Zip or Location Code, such as the EUR | PL | PL010 | Bialystok

24hrs is a very long time, did you use quickgps 1st? try that, should speed up things alot...

if all fails, flash original rom, check if gps is working, flash rom again and re-test it...

Flashed original rom; GPS works fine with fix obtained in approx 70sec.

re-flashed 29020; updated with quickgps; can see 8 to 10 satellites but NO fix at all.

left the phone in the garden with clear site of the sky... can see the satellites changing positions but no fix?

A hard reset was performed in between every rom update and Radio updates.
re-flashed original rom with Radio 1.59.42.15 obtained fix in approx. 85secs

Again re-flashed 29020 rom with Radio 1.59.46.12, can see 6 to 8 satellites but no fix.

you Have set helvetica as the default Manilla font which doesnt support my Lnaguage (ARABIC). Is there away i can set the font to Tahoma for example?

fixed: font issues on regedit on dotfred taskmanager, email on wifi issues, incall volume should now work, action screen squares instead of fonts fixed...
new: wallpaper, new lockscreen lock and alarm screns (unfinished-portrait only), rscreen rotation now possible via long green press...
removed: media control from lockscreen (still trying to find a way to make "pages" on lockscreen)

dual boot with android is not yet implemented...


Important Note:
if you have radio 1.65.xx.xx installed on your polaris, downgrade the radio 1st...
it will not allow you to flash any other ROM (i couldn't even flash official HTC ROM when i tried a ROM with that radio)

There seem to be HR and MC losing data issues with some roms, so i recommend flashing a htc original rom and only then this one, before proceeding as always make a backup of all data before attempting to use this rom...

This is released as "WORK IN PROGRESS" so you can if you want, post what works/what doesn't...
in time i'll correct bugs and release when it seems fit...meanwhile i'll actively answer all major questions, giving all support which is always nice to have...hope you all like it...

Radio included: no radio included but has to be 1.59 and above
OS: 5.2.21911 / 23569 / 28014 / 24001 / 29017 WWE (thanks to the people that make them available)
OEM Drivers: 3.19/1.60 (thanks to Cmonex and chavonbravo) or 3.19 untouched (htc)


NOTES:
You NEED HardSPL (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=351964) installed before flashing any ROM...
Don't forget to make a backup of all data before trying it out...
1st boot takes long time to complete...
Hard Reset after 1st Boot (when it gets 2 calibration screen) to minimize problems, this is always a must as most problems are do to not doing so...
use compatible Radio depending on what version you download...
3G an H are disabled by default for max battery...
some programs have been tweaked, so if you feel they are slower or got bugs, please report them...
support will be provided, here in this thread ASAP...
the (Beta) is due to the fact that wm65 is not released yet...
Tested incoming /outgoing calls... but cannot speak or hear...plus camera all black...change the RADIO to supported one...
2G dialer is made for portrait only
iGO hangs...disable AGPS

do not flash if you cant handle BETA software, this 6.5.X has issues, lots of them, its normal to be so as its still in development

i also tried android on my polaris installing via sd card but it's so much not stable some times the contacat gone away and some application won' work
i tried to install also wm 6.5 via the card and i discoverd it's not stable also
so i think if think if there is a way to install it using ruu sign it will work good

29020 rom with Radio 1.59.42.15, can see 7 to 10 satellites but no fix.
29020 rom with Radio 1.59.44.02, can see 6 to 10 satellites but no fix.
29020 rom with Radio 1.59.46.12, can see 7 to 10 satellites but no fix.
29020 rom with Radio 1.65.38.14, can see 7 to 10 satellites but no fix.

A hard reset was performed in between every rom update and Radio updates.
re-flashed original rom with Radio 1.59.42.15 obtained fix in approx. 85secs

Again re-flashed 29020 rom with Radio 1.59.46.12, can see 6 to 8 satellites but no fix.
Alpha rom with Radio 1.59.46.12, can see 7 to 10 satellites =50-70 sec.

as for your questions...

you can change all settings related to utask "task managing" by long pressing on that key on home screen...

my kitchen and settings will only be released when i stop supporting this device so that other people can continue this work, till then you will only get roms, also currently my kitchen has more then 2GB of used space, sharing it will not be easy, ill have to put it into a diet before ever sharing such things...hope people understand...

I guess I'll have to wait until you're no longer interested in Polaris then. :) I'm not really ready for that Kitchen/ROM building from scratch thing, although it's really easy to do some minor tweaks to the existing one (I've tried that already with a kitchen/ROM from some other guy and it worked flawlessly)

As for the russian keyboard, I haven't seen a single free keyboard app (or even paid of those I've tried) that would have just as tolerable system load/response as the HTC's EzInput, so I don't think cooking in an alternative really solves the problem. In addition, my problem with messaging is not that I can't read, but writing them in cyrillic (even worse is not being able to google smth.).

Oh, yeah, another question I forgot to ask:

In other WM6.5.x ROMs I've tried there was a nice menu for choosing the alarm snooze time that could be called up by pushing the Snooze button when the alarm was sounding. In your ROM it just snoozes for 5 minutes. Is there a way to get that menu, or at least edit that 5 minutes delay you have set?

Thank you for your work, consider this the best firmware. There's just incomprehensible phenomenon, very rarely after pressing the red button goes to the PDA itself, only soft reset helps. Radio 1.65.38.14. May prompt why? And still have not found how to activate the Russian T9 in your firmware?

I installed 9022 yesterday

and when I installed it and started Opera (tried just once) it was working. but after a few hours when I tried to start, it just said: "Could not initialize Opera"
and it's like that since then.

I did not install anything before that, just set up synchronization with business exchange and my gmail, and started sense instead of titanium.
I didn't even restore anything with pim backup or any other tool.

opera doesn't start also if I try to start exe in windows folder.

I had this problem with previous pcarvalho ROM (not sure which one) and this was one of main reasons I upgraded to 9022.

any help would be appreciated.

P.S. pcarvalho thank you for great ROMs and wonderful support.

I have some strange problems with internet connection.
I disabled data connection in comm manager but I still got some mails after that.

and when I switch off data connection it also switches off Push mail, even if I have Wi-Fi on.

when data connection is on I can't update weather in Sense, but I can browse Internet and get mails. When I switch on Wi-Fi, weather updates fine.

if I remember well, there is no good enough QVGA Dialer application with Video calls, so Pcarvalho doesn't include one in ROM.

but maybe you can find one and install it by yourself. I think there was even a link to one in first or second post.

This would solve another problem with Russian characters on the buttons in the standard dealer.

I am trying over a month now to increase the speaker volume DURING RADIO listening. I don't use earplugs just an adapter from mini USB to 3.5 jack which functions as an antenna.

However the speaker volume is too low. Only in the office the sound is OK. On outside enviroment isn't OK. In all other situations (ringing, mp3playing and radio through earplugs) the sound is excellent and all registry settings i tried changed the volume up or down. I switch them back to the default of your rom since i only want to increase the radio spaker volume for whitch i didn't manage to find a registry setting.:confused:

as always another great rom from the great cooker , i talk about the latest one 29022 beta , it is very very good

but there is one bug for me

some applications (with arabic language) it`s menu appear as squares and can not be read until i change the menu language of the application to english

unless this little bug the new rom is very great , and every thing work smoothly , the sound is very loud in the call , GPS working fine and every thing until now is perfect .

thanks again for your great effort to make us fill happy with our old cruise .

- Remove the battery during a few seconds
- Put it on
- While pushing the camera button, turn your phone on.

you Have set helvetica as the default Manilla font which doesnt support my Lnaguage (ARABIC). Is there away i can set the font to Tahoma for example?

get whatever font that supports arabic...rename it to something started with a and reboot device...i remove a font file cause it broke some apps...try this and let me know what happens...

Today found small bag, but for me it was very stressful
timezone on my device with latest ROM has changed automaticaly to my mobile operator time.
Problem is: my time location different with time of my mobile operator
I was late on my train yesterday morning, too sad, my employer too strong ....

You can check it:
set other timezone
then switch on - air plane mode
then switch off it
time in your phone will change (previous version didn't has it)

it is big problem for me, could you fix it please, if it possibly

The first time you set the program and had to choose weather city, you have to tick that you agree that certain information is used by Google to improve the program (they say). If you have not checked the box that you may not work, I just happened to me..Si from what I saw not much of what they do than if you hard reset.
Instead it works the other weather program.

i just installed WM65_HTC_Polaris_23569_WWE_4th. when i tap on the top bar of screen, where are located four icons ("plane", "no sim card", "volume", and "battery"), then notifications window is opening, where located only two of these ("no sim card" and "battery"). for what this window is needed? in older versions when i pressed on small icons on top bar there was opened a big bar with large icons and i could click on each of them to change its settings. now this bar appeared only when press on left of top bar, but if press directly on icons, it open "notifications". i think this window is useless, or it need to be not there. can i disable it?

and i have troubles with activesync - it works with small directories, but when i get into windows directory then active sync hangs up and does not responding. on mobile device all is working very slow (taskmgr shows that rapiclnt.exe takes all cpu usage). and when i copy something to pda device it hangs up too

and where i can get stable windows 6.5.5 rom for this device with no additional software installed? i prefer to install software on my own choice. or delete something from this. for example, it may be available as fresh system and packages which you can install or not, instead of including them directly in firmware so you can't do anything with them
