Hey Everyone,
I'm having a major problem with my iMate pda2k. First off, it won't sync with ActiveSync, and it comes up with a message saying 'Cannot open the connection "USB'. This connection is no longer valid or does not exist. Select a different connection and try again." Ok. So I thought a hard reset would fix the problem as it resets everything. Oh wait, I tried it and it just appears as a soft reset. I can't hard reset it. This also means I can't update to another ROM, as I was going to update to the new xplode 6.5 build 21202 rom. Someone please help!

EDIT: Yes, I have already read the Wiki.
EDIT2: I just hard reset it using the bootloader which thankfully worked. ActiveSync still doesn't work.

Ok. It's all alright. Upgraded the rom by putting it into Serial mode and it got recognized after I fiddled with a few things. Upgraded to 6.5 and ActiveSync now works.

@howie,

If you read the wiki as you said you did, then you probably missed the part that says that you must put the device in bootloader mode in the BA in order to do any kind of up/downgrading. In fact, in order to up/downgrade you have to kill ActiveSync (end wescommgr.exe and rapimgr.exe from the Task Manager). You may want to take your BA to a higher version rom. d-two recently posted 23053, which is pretty much flawless so far. There have been a few releases which had several issues with ActiveSync.

Second of all, you might have also missed the rules of the forum which state that in order to open new threads you must contribute to the area in which you are posting. In the case of the BA section, roms, programs, skins, hacks, tips on how to fix things are all welcome. Threads with questions... not so much. There is a fully dedicated Q&A thread in this area of the forum for this kind of stuff. Post there, most Seniors in the BA section are always monitoring this thread.

Don't mean to sound like an a$s, but we all have to obey rules. That makes a community more organized. Thanks for understanding and I hope my little advice on the rom helps you some.

@kevinrogers1977,

Go to the wiki and look for the tutorial on upgrading. Also, it isn't that you have to connect to a serial device. What howie was taking about was that he put his device in bootloader mode, which displays the word Serial in the screen of the BA (this changes to USB once you cradle the device).
