I'm a tech guy. But not when it comes to WinMo in depth. My tech areas are other than PDAs, so forgive me if this sounds rather elementary.
I'm curious about trying one of the WinMo 6.5 builds on my Mogul. BUT! I am lost by this talk of using a "kitchen" and unlocking, etc. etc.
Is there an easy "If you want to try it just as a user" build out there that is easy to install, or am I better just sitting back, and waiting until I upgrade my device when my contract expires in July?
Thanks gang. You guys lose me sometimes with what you discuss, but I enjoy the heck out of it.

Try the 21202 Beta 1.0 ROM here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=497303
I am using it, and it works quite well. It's still part of the WM 6.5 betas, but it's a well built and functional ROM. TPlane37 will be releasing a new build based on the official WM 6.5 builds soon. No kitchen/cooking necessary - it's all done for you.
And if you haven't ever flashed before, make sure you read the wikis and guides on how to properly unlock your phone.

Thanks, BTB. Unlike my PCs at home, my PDA is something I have to depend on. I can hose a PC and rebuild it, no sweat. But I don't have the same PDA background, even though I am a HUGE believer in them.
I'll re-read the wikis and see what there is on unlocking, but am getting the feeling again I am better waiting until a proper one gets released. I'm chicken **** that way. LOL But I am still open for feedback!

By the way, why 21202 instead of 21501? 21202 says Verizon in the 21202 Beta 1.0.TXT file.

21202 is not actually carrier specific. As long as you have the proper carrier cab, you can use it on the provider of your choice. I use it on Alltel for example.
And I am using 21202 instead of the Official 21501 because it's been tweaked. Once TPlane37 releases his next actual build I will definitely upgrade, though.
