Looking for a ROM with WM only

Hi,

First, I have a question about cooking ROMs. A ROM is made of the Windows Mobile OS and some Applications, right? So where do you get the OS included in cooked ROMs. I would like to have a ROM with WM only. Like a formated PC with the OS installed after the first boot. This status I would like to have on my Touch Diamond. Does anyone know how to get this working?
I ask because I've seen a cooked ROM with CE OS 5.2.21042 and on my TD i have version 5.2.20764, but Windows Update reports, that no updates are available.

if you want a rom with nothing preloaded check out swtos's thread...

but with nothing loaded is barely usable (i'm talking about not having tf3d)
goto settings/today and disable Touchflo... thats what 'bare WM' would look like... and function like...

And is there any possibility to get just a wm update, that I have the newer OS Build, but without having to flash a new ROM?

no, just flash the new 6.5 rom, there is one with 120mb free which sounds like what you are after

Well they are all not really what i am looking for, but thanks for the suggestions. I still have one question left: Where do ROM cookers get the OS the build in their ROMs?

usually xda-member posts both XIP and SYS of the latest build.
usually after rom cookers release their ROM first.
