The first Rapidshare link gave me a bad rar file but he one posted by hex works fine!

Flashing was uneventful. The UI takes some getting used to, but on the whole I like it. It does seem slow, though.

I applied the tilt keyboard patch from a previous download, but the @ and ! are still switched.

Wi-fi configured and connected OK, as did T-Mobile (voice only:( )

Did you soft reset? I have experienced the tilt keyboard fix not working on newer builds, especially 6.5, unless I install it a couple times, then soft reset, and even then I have to do it again and soft reset again with my last 6.5 flash to get it to work.

I have also found a couple different versions, and have my best success with the one titled:

Tilt_keyboard_fix_Updated.cab

Yeah, TaurusBulba was the original version the update was based off of... I have found 5 different versions, and the one you have is the most up to date version of it.

Soft reset should do the trick, if not try installing a couple of times in a row, then a soft reset and so forth until it works or you want to throw your phone, which ever one comes first.

The ROM seems quite ok minus the scrolling feature. That sucks in my case although, dont know if you got it right. Overall 6.5 is a pleasure I must say with its added features, along with it you can say its just a great thing to try on kaiser. With added features like better scrolling & page swooshing, I am going in love with this new WM avatar. If people wants to have a better stability & lock feature I suggest them to disable the phone skin. It doesn't seems working well with phone canvas.From series 1.65 XX Almost Radio's are although working well as per my knowledge. Good luck guyz.

Cmonex 3.29 hard 2 or hard seems to me working with almost all releases I had. Try it & see yourself. You have to find the best radio & spl for you. Believe me nothing can be generalise here.

2. Version 3.29 of hard spl worked fine.
3. The download link pointed to by hex on page 1 is the only one that worked for me. I tried all 3.
4. Thanks for the tip on the splash screen.
5. The UI takes some getting used to, but I am liking this ROM :)
6. I'm pleased with the WI-FI performance so far. Battery drain seems OK.
7. I can't comment on Cellular Data since I don't have the service.

Edit: I just re-read sakshamkatyal's post about scrolling. I don't like the finger scrolling concept much at all. I tried this rom since I was looking for an alternative the M2D interface that seems to have taken over. I find that using the stylus on the extreme right-hand edge of he screen, actually sliding it against the frame, that the scrolling is fine for me, just in the wrong direction. I've gotten used to that in less than 1 day.

Actually, to all of you who have scrolling issues, you should try getting kaisertweak. Unzip it, run it on your device, and find the TouchFLO settings. Then, for the Scroller option, set it to Disabled. Reset the device, and you'll find that finger scrolling works so much better, and has a nice kinetic scrolling effect.

Is there a way to change the order of the items on the start menu? There doesn't seem to be any logic to it, except that applications I install wind up at the bottom of the list.

Maybe GPS is working - When I run live maps it says "getting GPS position" but cant... no surprise given Im in the office. However QuickGPS will not run from the start menu still.

Anyone able to actually get their Live Mail accounts to setup correctly? After going through the setup wizard I accept the terms and conditions as you are always asked to do and then it spits be back out to Titanium and closes the entire setup process.

I've performed multiple hard resets and this point so it's not that. Anyone having any success with this? For whatever reason the links in the "Get Started" menu are not working at all either. Not that I really care but I just thought that was interesting.

My Touch HD just failed on me and I had to revert back to the Kaiser and this is my first flash in recent times on this device. Hopefully there is an easy solutions for this as I need access to my mail on the phone. Thanks in advance.

Great rom. Just two minor problems. Everytime I do a soft reset the sim card numbers show back up under contacts. I have used both registry editor and Advance Config with no luck. Second problem is excessive battery drain. Has anyone else had these difficulties and have you been able to find a fix for them. Other than that I am very pleased with the rom. Not a big fan of the Chome but I like the honeycomb with the M2D. Thanks and keep up the good work.

Yeah, the battery life on my device seems to have gotten shorter too, but I mean it's beta software, so there are always going to be little problems like this. I would say it's all the visual effects or the data connection that are draining the battery. Alternately, you could flash a different radio, that might make some kind of difference it its battery life.

Get kaiser tweak (or maybe advanced config does this, don't know) and set the data connection to turn off automatically after a few minutes of inactivity. I'm trying it now, I'll report back later and tell if it makes any difference.

Although if you're comfortable running MORE beta software on this already beta ROM, you can head over to Development and Hacking (http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=260) and download the WM7 titanium program (or you could just search for it). It changes the look of a lot of things, but in a good way. It also includes the Titanium Weather panel, and replaces the Getting Started panel with a program launcher (which doesn't really work well for me).

That's disappointing. I am also finding that Live Mesh doesn't login and produces the same results. Other than that things seem to be working ok for me.

i have the at&t stock 6.1 rom (7-17-08) and stock radio (1.65.21.18) would i be able to use this ROM or any other 6.5 roms without making any other changes to my phone?

To use this, or any custom ROM, you will have to install HardSPL first. Just follow these instructions (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=433835) word for word and everything should be just fine.

The problem actually seems to be that TouchFlo is ALSO running. Download KaiserTweak and disable the TouchFlo "scroller" or "scrolling" setting and it'll be working exactly how you want.

Very nice ROM so far. Stability seems a little iffy, but that's only to be expected. All the hardware (phone, data, wifi, camera) seems okay, but I haven't tested my GPS yet.

I like the finger-friendly menus in this ROM. They're smoother than the ones other 6.5 ROMs are using.

My only complaint / question: is there any way to get rid of the numeric battery meter icon and set it back to the default one?

Having spent a little more time with this ROM, it definitely seems a little more sluggish than some of the other 21501-based ROMs. Both Anryl's and Josh's ROMs are a bit snappier.

Yes, it's actually incredibly simple. Just find a theme you like that is for WM 6.1, 5, 2003, etc., and just select it as your theme. Except for the Start Menu/Launcher, it makes everything old looking again. In the Today settings, select the Windows Vista Black as your theme, hit OK, let WM do its thing for a sec, and when it's done loading, it's old and stylus friendly again. Some stuff, like the menus, are still slightly bigger than they would be in a 6.1 ROM, but it's as good as you'll get.

Hello all i have tried two different wm6.5 roms but i seem to run into the same problem. When i first install the rom everything works fine but after a few sms or emails are read ill pull up my email or sms and i can see the messages listed but when i click on one it acts like it opens but nothing is displayed. This has happened with this Rom and another one i have tried can some one help please?

Hi, at first very good work.

two points:

1) Clicking on Favorites and History on default open page of internet explorer (default_0409.htm) it opens "file explorer" on \windows directory.

2) using the hardware keyboard the key "fn" + space (symbol àèé ecc. n italian keyboard) doesn't work (nothing happens) (it should change the previous char from a to à for example).

Out of all the ROMS ive tried i really do like this one, the onlu problem is not being able to get windows live to work, which is one of the main things i like about having a windows mobile device.

I also cannot get the getting started screen to vanish off the today screen.

Please can you get these fixed, at least the windows live (probably remove it from the cooking pot?) and I will donate some $.

Reinstall a seperate Windows Live cab in order to get it to work. .34 is the only one that I have ever had working. Hope this helps with your issue.

I cant, to install a new Windows Live Cab the system tries to uninstall the old one, it cant uninstall the old one because it is cooked in the ROM and read only. Is that the problem why it isnt working cos its read only in the ROM?

I've discovered that I just can't Opera working on this ROM. I've tried at least three or four different builds, including the officially-released 9.5 beta with Gears. All have the same problem -- the program will run, but nothing renders. The "page" area of the screen isn't visible. It's not frozen, since you can actually access the menus, but it's completely unusable. And since Skyfire won't run on 6.5 (as far as I can tell), there's no useful web browser available to me.

I've also seen a couple smaller problems. I haven't been able to get the Tilt keyboard fix working, and Internet Explorer won't transfer any data over wifi. But the web browser issue is a big one.

I'll have to try this again -- my skyfire cab immediately "fails to install" when I start it. I was under the impression that Skyfire had an issue that prevented it from running on 6.5. It's nice to know I can at least use Skyfire, but not having both Opera and Skyfire available makes this ROM a lot less appealling, even though it does everything right configuration-wise.

Sounds like radio issue at least, possibly need to hard-reset or complete re-flash. Regarding Office, mine is there and works. Not worth the time to figure out (I know, I've wasted tons of time with these types of problems) what is causing the problems with lockups and camera problems, just start over as this rom is a solid rom, so it's not the rom. I solved 1st and 2nd problem changing the radio version. In my system office is present in "office mobile" folder (word, excel powerpoint).

I can send and receive text messages no problem, but everytime I send a message out the person on the other end complains of multiple copies of the same message. My friend sent me a text message and she got the same text I had sent her an hour ago again. Any Ideas? By the way this started happening right after I flashed 6.5 onto my kaiser.

Does anyone have a way of making the IE zoom out properly? In the screenshots I've seen on the web when you access a page it can zoom out so the whole page is visible (if not readable) on the single screen. The zoom bar seems to be stuck about 1/6th of the way up thus preventing zooming out any further than the initial view when you open a page. I'm assuming that something is set to work on a VGA screen and finding the necessary tweak will make it look right on QVGA.

A tip for anyone finding windows media player performing badly with a large number of tracks on your SD card. I have around 2500 songs on my phone and when I press Play All on the new today music widget it takes ages to find the first track and then takes ages to find the next one when the first is finished etc. If I go into WMP and select a single album for play it works just fine. The problem is to do with the WMP UI plugins which seem to not cope with large play lists. There is another plugin called ResumePlugin.dll which lets WMP remember where you were up to if you shut it down part way through a song. It also causes the phone to lock up if you are doing a Play All with a large song base. So I think that WMP isn't really built for large play lists and the plugin API certainly doesn't cope well. The only solution I could find was to disable the CHOME plugin which can be done using the registry editor:
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\UIPlugins and look for the one with description beginning CMHOME and change capabilities to 0. You will no longer get the track information in the Music widget on the Today screen but WMP will also be able to play large playlists again. I read somewhere that Microsoft will be porting their Zune player to WinMo which hopefully will rectify the problem with this sadly out of date media player.

Anyone else have this problem? I fell in love with this ROM, but any time it freezes and requires a soft reset it does a hard reset. I have to do the screen alignment and date/time settings all over again, not to mention all other settings for e-mail, phone, etc. It's frustrating... And ultimately worthless for me.

Yes, you must get a different radio. I had this issue with Anryl ROM, and I clicked the search button and found what I needed. Hope this helps!

Akporta, that could be a bad flash. Try flashing a carrier ROM, hard resetting, flashing this one, hard resetting (before you even initialize it), then setting everything up again, like radio, programs, etc. Good luck,

I've successfully found a way to install Hebrew with this rom. You need to make sure you do a Hard SPL and flash your stock rom first, then you can flash this rom and add the Hebrew files. You can find them throughout this forum... just find what suits you best, and keep trying different combinations. Good luck!
