update programs intergrated inside a cooked rom?

hi all,
i have a rom which is two months old. it came with opera, however there is a later opera version which is really nice.
how do i remove the old opera to install a new one when it does not list in "add / remove programs" ?

there are other programs too, but im using opera as an example.
if it simply cannot be done then fine.. i hope for a decent WM6.5 rom soon :D

that's why it's better to have a clean ROM to begin with :) unless you flash 3-4 times a day like some of us here ;) :D

What interests me is the Name of this thread.
why don't chefs integrate Device Update into their ROMs?

that would make sense,
or why not have the programs installed but list them in add/remove programs so they can be updated individually.

just a thought, but may be it saves disk space or something having them fully integrated as one phone ROM..?

i suppose i should learn how to cook :/
