Currently I am running V8 and d/ling V9.. Great job on this awesome Rom abusalza!
Only problem I have is when in Landscape mode, the X in the upper corner is hard to get to activate and sometimes the slider don't work(eg. using Chome editor). I did not notice this problem in previous releases. Is there a fix for this or is V9 having this problem too?

Question 2: is there any guide on how to make full use of the Chome Editor yet? Working with it for a while I have figured out alot, but still would like to know more.. and Registry locations for editing some things and especially doing back-ups of panels for easy upgrades to v9..v10..etc..

I have one problem with this ROM. Before I go sleep, I set alarm to 7.45 and alarm doesnt work. Date is ok, hour also. At night kaiser was plugged in to charger.

Anyone have problem with alarm ? This problem I have also on olders PDACorner WM6.5 ROM (pdacorner ultimate , i use only this roms).

Any solutions ?

also, I'm trying to figure out why M2D is laggier in the 6.5 roms, I've installed all the different drivers and used gfxboost, but it still isn't smooth like some of your wm6.1 roms were. Try moving a tab from left to right with your finger. Unless you're doing it slow, it lags.

Been reading a lot about this flash stock then flash custom thing.
I flashed stock before going to X2 V8. Now I am going to upgrade to X2 V9 and I know I need to hardreset etc before during after and etc but I dont need to flash stock between V8 and V9 do I?

Finally great Rom. I have only had two others on my phone in the last 18 months other than the stock which lasted all of 3 days. Those two were Dutty's and Laurentis's and yours is definately a worthy upgrade.
If I was in a better financial position I'd donate but every penny counts with a young baby and only one wage, so apologies.

But I have one Problem everytime that I install hebrew and make restart I can't make a call and I can't receive a call I got no network no single and I do not know why and I try 4 Different hebrew version.

Speed seems much better in V9 (and I thought V8 was quick!)

I've got a few problems, probably both related to the dialer:


When calling someone you cannot read the status of dialing as it's black on black
When on call screen stays active so my face touches the buttons
When in landscape mode new message notifications look like they're offset for a larger screen so can't be clearly read
Manilla sms screen shows 1/2 when I have 2 texts but even when i move to text 2 it still shows 1/2 is that a bug ?


Can anyone tell me how they get on with IE I find the zoom out just doesn't go small enough, I'll be sticking to firefox.

Also is it possible to not have the larger menu's you've put on v9, I found my fingers small enough to use the ones on v8 is there a cab or mortscript I could run ?

I managed to Activesync mine fine using Win XP Pro and latest version of ActiveSync. I have had issues syncronising the Notes item though strangely.


On another note it seems some functionality has changed as everytime I go into Settings and select an item I want to change a setting in and click OK it goes back to Home screen instead of the previous screen I was in. What registry setting do I need to change to go back to the way it was done in 8 please?

You have probably installed the "new heb support only"
try to install the earlier version (without the wince.nls)
Then you will get support in this last version of x2
I got the same problem like you but solved it by this way.

Can we have the Settings menu not closing everytime you go into an item and click OK. In V8 it would drop you back to the previous screen instead of hte Home screen... :)
And I must be a wierdo but I liked the V8 dialer as well (apart from the lack of smart dialling) - I liked the way when you hit the green dial button it would auto flick to Call Status (is there a reg edit for that setting anywhere?)

ROM is very nice looking and seems pretty smooth so far. Some notes of issues I've had so far are:

* - when I do a soft reset, many times it boots up to the 'Batter/Backlight/Advanced' Settings page.
* - the side 'OK' [long hold] to adjust volume only works in M2D. When in CHome it does nothing, unless I actually open up the 'Button Plus Settings' app, and then it will work with that open, but not closed. If I switch back to M2D, the OK works fine. Clicking on the top icon bar (signal/volume/clock icons) only produces a new 'Notifications' screen (whick I like the look), just would be nice if there was a Volume option to click on from there. Not sure if this is an M$ thing or what?

******** (UPDATE: I've noticed that now I have to press and hold twice before the volume will selection will appear in M2D. In CHome, I have to press 1 short, which brings me to Start Menu, and then if I press and hold OK, it will bring up volume changer - quirky!)

* - I also noticed, that when the Volume is opened up via the OK hold, it increases the volume by about 2 notches - which is annoying.

I did install the XDA OPAL Control cab, to give me seperate volume controls for system and ring. I realized afterwards, that if you are in M2D, and go to the settings panel (far right icon on M2D slider), there is a option under Sounds, to turn 'Single Volume' On or Off. - so the OPAL volume install is really not needed, if you are in M2D. In the above situation where the OK brings up the volume controls in M2D, it resets the ring volume to about 50%,

Like the add of the Microsoft Tag app - I recall M$ doing some development way back, and didn't realize that it appears to be revived again. Did some testing, and it works flawlessly!!! Can only hope the rest of the world moves this way - and the fact that it's not just a WinMo application, makes it much more adaptable. XDA-ers could start posting download links with just a Tag picture and would make it super simple to do cab downloads, or go instantly to web pages by just putting the phone to my computer screen. It's detection capabilities of a custom tag, are lightning fast and very impressive!!

Also, I presume the M2DC Customizer app was not built-in? Which is fine, I have an install, I just was used to it being cooked in, and thought maybe I wasn't looking in the right place.

Only been testing for a few hours, so hard to say if I'll run into any other bugs. Love the new M2D theme - usually like the CHome better, but seems the M2D may run a little better in this version over the CHome

"Cannot read settings from the network. Try viewing settings later, or disconnect data and try again". I get this everytime on Voicemail and Text messages menu and occasionally on the others.

And I have seen that situation where the power menu (battery menu) loads on its own seemingly, this seems to happen when the phone connects to the network oddly. You can replicate it by switching off 3G and wait for the GSM/GPRS to connect and it should display the page.

Think I may go back to V8 for now. Unless you want any more testing info from me?

I'm experiencing the same. Data Network is unavailable at random times in 3G mode. Although it says its connected in the notifications menu. I manaully switched to Edge only and it works. I'll see if it is only a problem in 3G mode.. not sure yet. I applied the ATT Media Net settings cab to test as well but it didn't alleviate the problem. This is a show-stopper for me.

I know its too hard to bring/satisfy everyone likes or wants. I love all abus rom: but i want to suggest (from a simple user): a network pluggin is needed; a wifi share connection too...and maybe...for all those noisy people like me, some kind of dialers and keyboards should be in cabs for people´s choice, without include one specific.
Its the same with opera...some guys here (includin me) thinks that its no need to put opera in the rom...other people wants: solution its to bring the rom with cabs for choice...same thing happens with the chome and manila stuff (now we have roms with both). That's because some little details like never gonna satisfy everyone.

Have to say nice job to the PDACorner team love your work. After 6 mouths with a cracked screen has sucked real bad but know I fixed that. And back to flashing ROM's once again. Only one thing I would like is in the call menu is the finger slide up and down menu. Cause some times cheek well mute the phone but no biggie. Keep them kick A$$ ROM's coming.

From the other perspective, once you're done with the intial configuration, you might prefer that it return you to the top menu.

Hi abusalza, I'm afraid I'm still having the some problems I was in V8. I tried all the different registry edits but still was not able to adjust the volume during a call. Also, it seems the direct draw drivers may still be slow, because M2D lags when slidng the tabs. (I've flashed to TPC rom and these problems were fixed, but I'd still like to your roms)

I was just wondering if there was a cab for the start menu that is used in your rom. I know there's one that has 4 rows, but doesn't have the cool designs like yours, how do I get those designs?
Also, is there a cab for the large menus with the left and right softkeys?

Not a big fan of the notification enhancement app thats included, because it makes changing volume difficult. The long press on the OK to adjust volume doesnt always work for me for some reason in 6.5.

The dialer could be better as well.


However, the new notification system for incoming sms looks pretty pimp juice :)

When set to Windows default I am not getting the apps that were preinstalled with the Rom. I have tried to locate these or turn them on but am having no luck.

I did the same thing and also changed my bronzeres.dll so it meant having to reinstall some of the plugins myself. If you cannot enable the plugins using CHome customizer, search the Dev and Hacking forum and reinstall the ones you want. That worked for me...screen shot is Abu's latest with default Titanium and Godzsons Hero bronzeres.dll

I personally would like to have the phone canvas that was in V8. I thought it was the one from the HTC Mega, but the dialpad is not the same. Better (IMO) than the one cooked in V9, but not as big as they were in V8.

i copied and pasted a text earlier and worked perfectly...... and nor am i having any of the other issues at all.... try an att flash and then flash x2v9.... and for the last comment i dunno i dont mind it but i am sure theres a cab somewhere u can install to change it ...and for ur contact manage question i cant help u there :-) sorry haha.. someone else should have an answer... good luck...
abu all i got 2 say thanks i love the rom....i jsut need to figure out how i got the lock screen to start up faster like i had on v8 .. i installed some cab to change the look of the lockscreen and all of a sudden the speed of it 2 come up was SOOO much faster...thanks again ABU!

X2V8 (and X1V8) all correctly rendered Chinese language. In X2V9 only displays rectangles.
Reflashed ROM twice.

Anyone else NOT see this?

Other comments: The new pop-up notifications are cool as is the overall interface of X2V9, but X2V8 is still "king of the hill" for now.

Anybody use the RSS Hub Feed app?

I use it religiously...for over a year, and never had a problem with this app on any ROM.

On V9, I now get 'out of memory error' if I trie to download a podcast, or if try to divert the files to the SD card, I get 'Access Denied'.

Any thoughts? I flashed and reflashed (more than 3 times) last night, and still an issue. I did the full Stock rom/HR/v9/HR each time.

Really strange. The only thing I can point to is that my Tilt is ready to die? :mad:

The first I noticed it yesterday, and then the whole system started crashing, and then could do much of anything - multiple errors. Thought maybe a bad flash or something, but after doing the tedious task over and over - still get same results with RSS Hub. I used this app immensly for tech news, and keeping up on things for my job.

I even relashed SPL's, tried various ones...etc. The only thing I have left to try is going back to 6.1, and installing the app, and see how it works.

I am having a great deal of trouble with GPS reception. It takes FOREVER (over 30 minutes) to get a GPS lock. I've tried a couple different radios; and will now try Hard SPL 3.34.

I'm using a Tilt with v9, and currently running radio 1.65.21.18 (I've tried all of the 1.7x radios...)

There should be 5 Pins along the top use a good magnifying Glass to see if any are bent, One of mine the middle one was bent down and i used a pin to bend it back up but be very carefully they break very easily roomer has it HTC used a substandard USB PORT if you go onto HTC website there are loads of complaints about the pins breaking and HTC not willing to fix it :)

I am still having trouble getting a timely GPS fix. I have upgraded to Hard SPL 3.34, and have tried a number of different radios. I am using AT&T here in Chicago.My GPS fix should be 15-20 seconds at most, and its more on the line of 30 MINUTES plus. I have downloaded Quick GPS and Quick Position files (and did before my last post); and it just doesn't seem to help.

Is anyone else having GPS fix issues? What has been/has not been working for you? Please help, as I use GPS regularily and would like to be able to use it on this device.

True: I didn't notice that except that the top right is video call.

I have an AT&T Tilt running V9, SPL 3.34, and radio 1.65.21.18. I just tested with two different versions of AT&T navigator and after a Quick GPS sync both got a lock in less than 3 mins. That is slower than stock 6.1 but much faster than you are reporting. What is your Speed Test results for the internet?

That is about normal for me with TPC or ABU's roms. However, with ABU V9, i got a LOCK on the GPS TEST program in about 30 seconds! It is the fastest that I have ever experienced.

For those with phone canvas issues, I use the PimpUrPocketPC cab. It has some nice colors, large buttons, easy to see & works in Landscape. The only thing missing is video call but I don't use that anyway.

FLASH WITH SD. I always flash with the SD card. It is much safer and does not have issues with leaving the SIM card in. BTW, you do NOT need a second SD card. You can use the one that you normally use in the phone. I use a second one to speed up flashing: I keep the ATT357 rom on my normal (8gig) card in the phone. When I get news of a new rom that I want to flash, I just go ahead and flash the ATT rom while I download and extract the new rom to my 4gig card. After flashing the ATT rom, I switch SD cards and use the 4gig to flash the NEW custom rom. Later, I flash the new radio and all is sweet!

Did not install any software, and when I tried to do a soft reset it hangs at the boot page. Only option was to do a hard reset.
I am using SPL 3.34 and 1.71.09.01 radio

The STORAGE memory probably refers to your SD Card. Is it full? Put it in an adapter and use your computer to check the card. Remove enough files to give the card at least 20% of its capacity FREE. That will generally provide sufficient operating room for the card.

Your device also has storage memory and you can read both with the Settings/System/Memory applet. But if you have not installed any additional software then the device storage should be fine. Where ever it is FULL, you must release some space. If it is the device, use the Settings/System/Remove Programs applet to remove unused program and free some storage space. If that is the case, after uninstalling programs, try installing them to your SD card instead of device memory.

I installed Opera 9.5 on your V9 rom but the M2D "Internet" panel still calls IE. From your post, I thought that it would automatically call Opera after I installed it. What am I doing wrong?

Edit: I uninstalled the version of Opera that I had and then installed YOUR copy and it does indeed call Opera. However, I get a dialog that says that it cannot find the file. I am uninstalled (again) and did a soft reset; install your copy again; soft reset. And, although PDA Corner Opera shows up in the "remove programs" applet, I cannot find a shortcut anywhere in the menus and the error message still report "cannot find the file specified".

Edit2: I installed Opera 9.5 build 2128 on top of the version from your site. This gives me an icon in the start menu which works. However, the M2D panel still fails with the dialog, "cannot find the file specified."

Also, the "x" in the upper right corner does not always CLOSE an app (like mail or TotalCommand, etc). I check the options for it but it is still default (allow to close with click the x).

I'm not sure if it's something I've instaled but when I boot up I have 41/42% free ram, if I don't open anything just lock the phone and leave for a while it goes up to 46%

I've used SMS and email today, all apps closed it's at 50% and starting to perform sluggishly

I use the right SPL & Radio and flashed via SD, pulling out battery first then stock, hard reset, then PDA corner rom hard reset which has worked flawlessly every other time

Anyone else finding the same issue ?

After flashing with a stock ROM, I can not send SMS and receive without a soft reset. The ones I sent are waiting in the Outbox whatever I do; and I can only get the new SMS's after a soft reset without sound.

Any ideas?

I installed Opera 9.5 on your V9 rom but the M2D "Internet" panel still calls IE. From your post, I thought that it would automatically call Opera after I installed it. What am I doing wrong?

Edit: I uninstalled the version of Opera that I had and then installed YOUR copy and it does indeed call Opera. However, I get a dialog that says that it cannot find the file. I am uninstalled (again) and did a soft reset; install your copy again; soft reset. And, although PDA Corner Opera shows up in the "remove programs" applet, I cannot find a shortcut anywhere in the menus and the error message still report "cannot find the file specified".

Edit2: I installed Opera 9.5 build 2128 on top of the version from your site. This gives me an icon in the start menu which works. However, the M2D panel still fails with the dialog, "cannot find the file specified."

Also, the "x" in the upper right corner does not always CLOSE an app (like mail or TotalCommand, etc). I check the options for it but it is still default (allow to close with click the x).

Update: I did a HARD reset and just allowed the rom to configure. Then I installed PDA's Opera that you uploaded. Then did a soft reset. I still get the message that "OperaL - the system cannot find the file specified." It even happens after a SECOND soft reset. The HTC screen appears then quickly the error dialog box shows and as soon as I "OK" the dialog, the HTC screen disappears and it is back at the Internet tab.

Update 2: It is now working. I am not certain what changed it but here is what I did: Since there was no link in the Start Menu/Programs folder, I created a shortcut pointing to the Windows/Opera9.exe file. But that file would not execute. I played with this for a few times but it still would not load. THEN I discovered the OperaL.exe file in the windows folder (I am CERTAIN that it was not there previously). I created a link to that in the programs folder and it does execute AND when I tried the Internet panel in M2D, it works also! WEIRD!!! Well, I will just configure from this clean rom (instead of using my backup file).

SUMMARY: Somehow, the Windows/OperaL.exe file is not immediately available when the program is installed. I did several soft resets and used Total Commander to attempt to execute the Windows/Opera9.exe file without success. I created some links and tried those then the OperaL.exe file appeared and everything started working correctly.

Update (again): Even MORE WEIRD - Since the M2D Internet Panel was working correctly, I began to configure my phone and set up email and exhange server; added a couple simple apps (not related to the Internet) and now the M2D Internet panel HAS STOPPED WORKING. It is again giving the "cannot fine the specified file" error. If I call up the shortcut, the HTC version of Opera loads fine. It also loads if I try to view an xml or html file. BUT it will not excecute from the M2D panel - even the shortcuts there give the same error!

There must be a simple solution to this. Is there anyone else using Opera? Does the M2D panel work for you?

I love the new Smart Lock. I prefer to use it than the S2U2 I was using with previous ROM. However, it comes so quickly and I cannot config the starting time of that lock. Is there anyway I can set the time before the lock turn on, maybe 30 seconds (now just 5 or 10 seconds).

I LOVE your roms! I've been trying different ones, both 6.1 and now 6.5. I finally was able to install Hebrew support and the finger keyboard successfully, but in doing so, I've lost the ability to compose new SMS. The compose screen doesn't pop up. When I tap Menu/New/SMS, the screen remains on "To create a new message, tap Menu..."
Is there a fix somewhere?

It's not the Hebrew. I installed PIE instead of IEMobile and that's what stopped the SMS from opening.
I need a web browser that will work! I tried the .cab of Opera that you posted, but I can't get a keyboard to pop up. I need to use FingerKeyboard with Hebrew.

I have an AT&T Tilt running V9, SPL 3.34, and radio 1.65.21.18. I just tested with two different versions of AT&T navigator and after a Quick GPS sync both got a lock in less than 3 mins. That is slower than stock 6.1 but much faster than you are reporting. What is your Speed Test results for the internet?

I am registering HSDPA and have a strong signal with all radios I tried. I reflashed the ROM with v9 and radio 1.71.09.01 eMo, and while its not THAT quick, I am getting a GPS lock in about 5-10 minutes now... much better. Not great, but much more reasonable.

Thanks! :) I went with the Diamond, but I still wish there was a way to restore the carbon fiber throughout the menus. I really liked it.

About the ROM - it is amazing! It auto-detected all of my POP email info and set it up with ease! MS Exchange connection was about as easy as it gets. AT&T Navigator installed, launched, connected and ran flawlessly. It connects better to WIFI (at home and at work) than the stock HTC/AT&T WM 6.1 ROM. For pretty much everything I do - this things is awesome! Thanks for all of the hard work that goes into this and look for some coffee $$ from me soon.

P.S. Can't wait to see what V10 looks like!!

finally i can configure my yahoo email, before, when trying this ROM at the first time, i cannot connect trough my yahoo mail, i guess it is from my provider, but, i can browsing trough my IE, it means, my internet connection is no problem, then i remember the main things if we use yahoo mail :

Incoming Mail Server -> default is "yahoo.com", this should change to "imap.mail.yahoo.com"
Outgoing Mail Server -> default is "yahoo.com", this should change to "smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com"

and now my email working perfectly.. hohoho..

Okay - I figured it out - quite by mistake.

1. I took Highlander11's advice and switched my theme to Diamond.
2. I then went into "Remove Programs" and removed the listing for "Ultimate" (which was the carbon fiber theme.)
3. I then did a soft reboot and everything came back with Diamond as my theme.
4. Next I went back into Themes and changed back to Ultimate, did a soft reboot and - presto - back to the original theme!

My understanding is that the landscape mode of all newer manila versions is a hack by the DEVs here since the new manilas are ported from devices without physical keyboards. None of the hacks work very well. Just enjoy what you have and use portrait mode.

I notice that several people have asked about the zoom level in Pocket IE not going out far enough. A few months ago I tried a ROM very briefly and noticed that Pocket IE worked correctly in that it zoomed right out so you could see the full web page. The ROM can be found here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=516984). I don't know what the chef did to make it work correctly but maybe someone cluey could figure it out and make it work on other ROMs. I haven't flashed the latest PDA Corner ROM yet so maybe it's already fixed in which case this post can be ignored.

so here is an issue im having:

-someone texted me who i didnt have saved, and so i clicked on their number and then a prompt shows up asking send a new text message, make a call, or save to contacts. When I click save to contacts, make a call or new text nothing happens ....the screen stays the same as if i didnt click a choice.


I'm going to flash 6.1 stock then reflash this rom and see if the issues resolve themselves.

I can't seem to get into Google/gmail with this version of IE. And when I install PIE 6.1 which is a browser that really works, I loose my SMS capability. I can't use Opera because I need a mulitlanguage keyboard and Opera doesn't support that.

the files all begin with "StartMenu_"

I've searched this thread and I haven't found a solution yet. I have a Parrot CK3300 and when I shut off the car I get a notification on the phone that the bluetooth had disconnected. I would rather not receive these notifications. This ROM is the first one I've seen this and I do not know where to disable this notification. Anyone know where it can be disabled?

this version doesn't have function to save contacts option... maybe using mega version would be nice even it's not support landscape... ;)

Is there any temporary solution by installing a fix .cab or modifying the registry? I am happy with any temporary solution for v9 now.

What version are you using? This happened on older versions but was fixed on V8. I haven't tried V9 so can't comment on that one.

ok. on v10 so far:
- using dialer from mega and fix almost all issue regarding with it.
- fix vibrate issue (dialer key and when connecting, also on manila tab)
- manila tab now smooth scroling.

Go to Advanced config-Miscellaneous Change Volume Level to Loudest

this was also the problem with X2.V8. Abu wasn't able to fix this. install attachment, go to settings --> sound and notifications --> bluetooth warnings.
