if you add folderview.exe to "terminate process" list in task manager it will work! go to here in registry...


[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\TaskManager\Termina teProcess]

and add this...

"folderview.exe"=dword:00000001

do a soft reset as soon as you make this change....and it should work.

from where do you set the alarm to repeat?

from clocks and alarms, click on little bell, will bring up area to choose alarm sound. 4 check boxes: 1 play sound, 2 repeat sound 3 flacsh light 4 vibrate. Even if I have repeat sound checked it will only play through sound once.

nope, just applying the file in cab should do the trick...but remember i am trying to fix things in a kitchen thats not mine so im doing the best i can with what ive got sorry.

Hello all,

I've installed via .cab Windows Live Messenger and Hotmail but I am unable to get it to work. Once I accept the terms of use and insert my credentials and hit next, the application stays there a few moments and then returns to the main sign in screen displaying with the string "Sing into Windows Live".

If I click again on that link, it loops me again through the terms of use, credentials and back again.

I've hard rest a few times and installed WL from the cab but of no use.

Has anyone experienced this issue and resolved it?

extract the cab file. if these file name AudioPara3.csv than u need to rename it to AudioPara4.csv. put the file into windows folder (overwriting), soft reset.

Anybody have any luck getting BB Connect to work with this release? I can't seem to hold a BB connection (or get an IP) long enough to synch anything. Tried setting My Blackberry as my #1 connection even and nothing, connects for a second and then drops it before anything can happen.

abusalza, I am glad your situation is better :o

I had a similar problem to a couple of others with X2.V3 where I restarted the phone to find the message that it was being started for the first time.

Prior to restarting the phone I had put it in standby with camera app open. Once the phone woke up the camera app worked as normal. I then quit this app, hit the mail hardware button and got an error similar to "\windows\start menu\connections\messaging.lnk cannot be opened". Thinking a reboot would clear it i held power button in to power off, then turned back on.

It didn't actually go through the setup process, though, it loaded a blank today screen, and the time was still correct. Start menu/top icons/soft buttons were unresponsive.

Not sure if any of that is useful but hopefully something there will make some sense somehow?

I have gone back to your last 6.1 roms in the meantime but will keep a close eye on this one :)

What i have heard it stems from older htc devices you had to flash stock every time before you flashed a modded ROM but with these up to date Roms its not needed but i have heard people say that if you are having a lot of probes with different Roms then flash the stock what it does i don't know some kind person will tell us

By the way i read this thread every day and see all the problems people are having and i don't seem to suffer with hardly any problems wonder why some devices are so trouble sum mine is super fast with V3 and no probes not even 1 strange

yes so i flashed v3, and yes it was very slow so i reflashed to v2, then i read this post by lufc and made me wonder, so i reflashed v3 and it is as fast as ever :D so i'm keeping it...very strange :rolleyes: hope all is well with you abz

Sorry, the screenshot was a misleading. It IS in the TerminateProcess folder. Anyway, thanks for the help!! Even if it is not solved, it is always nice for a noob like me to get help. :-)

The start menu is 2 columns and when you move the Dpad up or down the selected icon doesn't change. So I can't tell which icon is currently selected.

Reza, do I have a way of fixing the All Programs tab problem. I am running version V2 and would prefer not to flash again for V3. Maybe a CAB?

I experienced the same thing also. I am using X2.V3. Sometimes it locks up and you cant do anything but softresetting the phone by pushing the pin at the bottom of the phone. And when you do that, the phone HARD RESETs.
I hope this has been fixed in X2.V4. Thanks a lot for your support. Your roms are the best IMHO

Not sure about 1st question. But for home screen get some plugins and Chome. I have a few in my 4shared ad check the development and hacking forum for the 6.5 stuff stickied thread. Tons of info there.

Thats cool. I was just wondering. I used it for awhile but then became hooked on V19. I still flash to it every once in awhile. Its a rock solid rom and stable as can be.

Have you tried either 3.31 or 3.34 HardSPL? I seemed to have gotten alot better speed and less glitches with those when im running 6.5.

I say there is no need to unless you start to have strange issues you cant sort out. I havent flashed stock in quite a few flashes lol. No issues so i see no need to do it.

Have you used button plus? I only get it right after a soft reset but i setup button plus so i thought that might be it. I dont think its a issue yet just something still loading in the background. Im still searching for what it could be though.

Has anyone noticed what GFXboost actually improves? I disabled it checking the start menu delay after first boot. Didnt help that but i seem to have much better scrolling now without it on. Maybe im not using whatever app its for? Weird lol.

Maybe it's a bad flash. Try reflashing it.
If this doesn't work out I think that's a good example of a problem that could be sorted by flashing a stock ROM.

For many here English isn't their first language and sometimes it is a challenge to understand what is being said. Having said that I hope that I didn't hurt anyone's feelings after all if english isn't your first language that means you speak more than one and I for one can't say that but I can cuss fluently in spanish. :)

I must use a proxy into my HTC but when i connects it to PC by usb port and activesync, the proxy is cancelled (the field becames empty) and anytime i must reinsert it into connection setip of HTC.

I don't have this issue. The only CABs I've installed so far are the ATT Settings CAB and the Tilt Keyboard Settings CAB. I haven't noticed any bugs so far. Ran slow at first, but after restoring my PIM backup and soft resetting, it's running fast and bug free.

Edit: Just did a soft reset to confirm the above.

Edit #2: One thing I have that may be different from others is a "welcome.not" file in the root directory of my SD card. Keeps me from having to configure my screen, but may affect other things as well.

Wow. What a ROM. Tried V1 and actually kept in on my phone for a month, then started needing my flash fix. Keep these great rom's coming. As far as getting a hard reset on a soft reset, I just did a soft reset on mine and it started back up correctly. No freezes, no bugs, no problems. Will post if I run into any issues. Again Thanks.

I haven't checked yet to see if there's a built-in CHome editor, since I just switch straight to Manilla after flashing. Advanced Config, however, is under:

Start Menu --> Settings --> System --> Advanced Config.

There is a built-in weather tab for Manilla, but not Titanium. You have to get that elsewhere.

No its not built in. Doesnt increase speed at all. Its all connection dependent. So nope no benefit to cooking it in. None of the plugins work better cooked.

Under advanced config. Power managment. Set AC resuming from suspend to custom. And the battery resuming from suspend to custom. If that doesnt work you can also set SD memory to disable....and SIM memory to disable

k guys found a bug that's pretty annoying.

if i set the rom as is and use iGO8 or iGO Amigo it works fine.

then if i set the data connection - still works fine

now after i set my push mail via activesync those two progs will never boot they just hang at boot screen for the program and would never boot even after soft reset or hard reset.

tried reflashing original rom then using the recommended radio and also same spl 3.34 but same issue, i think it's something to do with active sync as it does not happen except after setting up activesync.

any resolution abu?

Ok, I played with so long until I figured out what the issue is. It is my new SD card.
I recently bought a new 8GB class 4 Micro SD card. I connected it to my PC and formatted it to FAT32. Then copied all the data from the old 4GB card to the new 8GB card. When I use the old card, the ROM runs like a champ, but the new card, makes the ROM hang often and when I soft reset it, it HARD reset the phone and wipes out everything.

Does the ROM support 8GB class 4?
Did I format ir right, FAT32?
Did I copy the data correctly?

When in landscape mode after I am done texting someone, When I click the "OK" button to go back to the main threaded text directory, the screen won't comply with me pressing the ok button?

I flashed V2 -> V3 -> V2 -> V4 over about three weeks. V3 was troublesome so I went back.

V4 is trouble free except for intermittent double-push of power button, which I don't mind at all.

I've noticed with all 3 versions, that the built-in Advanced Config does not turn off Slide-Awake properly, but Kaiser Tweak does. (Soft reset required).

It would be nice if one of the config utilities had a way to select the sliding sound, rather than having to edit the registry.

Questions:
- What does the build number represent (like the 21900 in V4)? Is that a build number from Microsoft or HTE, or do the chefs compile the kernel each time? If so, how does one get the source?

- Is Chome is another name for Titanium, and is now the default UI? I like it.

- I can't see any difference between M2D and M3D. Are those "version" numbers, or is there a visible difference? That's an academic question since I like Chome better than either one.

- Is there any reason for using a "lite" version vs. a "Full" one, other than conserving ROM space? I think that since WM 4, programs reside in a section of memory that behaves like a disk drive until they are run, so having lots of stuff on your "disk" won't really result in any performance issues for tohoe programs that are actually running at any given time.

Guys i hate to be a newbie, but im really stumped with this problem, ive scoured over the forum and searched but could only find this problem related to other phones, since ive never had this issue with anyother rom before im guessing there is some weird configuration problem.

Basically i was happilly using my phone for ages then i left it and came back to see that my programs were'nt working, i checked the 16 GB storage card and to my astonishment everything was gone, i have 4GB's worth of data lost, i started to panick so i checked the space on the card with my pc and it still had 4GB in use out of 16GB, i checked the hidden files setting, ive reset many times, ive selected show all files in file manager, but nothing, can anyone explain this sudden disapearing act of my data, the fact is its not missing its just invisible.

Ive tried looking at the encryption setting in settings but that wasnt even selected so im quite stumped.

It is probably not gone. I had the same thing to happen on my sd (ATT Tilt) and it was just not showing up. I just can't remember the file on the sd that was corrupted. Once it fixed that, all the data was still there.

One thing I have found to be indispensable. My PC doesn't have a micro SD slot, so I bought a USB adapter to accommodate it. That way I can access the SD card directly from the PC without going through Active Sync. It's lots faster, and makes it a snap to back up the SD to the PC hard drive.

The only caveat is that some files require format conversion, so you can't do something like copying a MS Office file directly to/from the card and expect it to work on the other platform, but for backup/restore it works very well for me.

sorry to hear your problem, bro!:( but try refreshing your phone with stock rom for a couple of days and install all of your stuff.

Thats some strange issues man. Ive been using it since it was posted without any issues at all. And i have pocket player. Titanium notification..facebook..twitter..system..weather and a bunch of themes installed. And custom status icons and start button. Its been rock solid. Try what reza said and also might try hardSPL 3.34. And flash from the SD card. Thats my setup and like i said its been rock solid.

I have been having intermittent hard resets when doing a soft rest or a power on. For me it seems to happen whenever I reset or turn the device on with it plugged in (recharging). If I pull the recharger out first, it seems to soft reset/star tup fine.

I say 3.34 spl for any 6.5 rom. And radio just what works best for you.

I believe there was already a post regarding this, and I'm not sure if my screen alignment issues (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=518451) are to blame, so more feedback from other users would be helpful.

My only suggestions for features to include in the full version of X2:

1. Microsoft Voice Command
2. HTC Footprints Tab for Manilla

I have just finished flashing V4 after running V1 since Reza released it. I am seeing a very similar problem but not just in landscape mode, also in portrait. The OK/X in the upper right either does nothing or opens Batti, I didn't have this issue in V1 and I had Batti in both.

I have also noticed that the touch screen is less responsive in V4 than V1 and as in V1 I can't get Chome to work right doesn't bother me any I prefer Manila anyway. I will post more finding as I put V4 through the wringer.

The only bug I've experienced so far:

When using a program in landscape mode with the keyboard out, tapping "Ok" and "X" buttons in the upper right corner of the screen seem to register as uses of the vertical scroll bar, and do not close the program. I've so far observed this in SMS windows, e-mail windows, and the contacts list. I believe there was already a post regarding this, and I'm not sure if my screen alignment issues (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=518451) are to blame, so more feedback from other users would be helpful.

My only suggestions for features to include in the full version of X2:

1. Microsoft Voice Command
2. HTC Footprints Tab for Manilla

I use the .cab fix in TPCs thread. It places the new weather in a folder named TPC and i just copy and paste it into titanium folder and it works. Maybe the same with the one you used.

you have to edit the titaniumweather.mscr because accuweather changed the link after the app was released. go to the titanium weather thread they have the files there im sure, if not look through my thread i posted it there as well.

k guys found a bug that's pretty annoying.

if i set the rom as is and use iGO8 or iGO Amigo it works fine.

then if i set the data connection - still works fine

now after i set my push mail via activesync those two progs will never boot they just hang at boot screen for the program and would never boot even after soft reset or hard reset.

tried reflashing original rom then using the recommended radio and also same spl 3.34 but same issue, i think it's something to do with active sync as it does not happen except after setting up activesync.

any resolution abu?

What SPL do you have? What radio? Install many apps or is it stock yet? Seems that a handfull of us have a great rom while others have this issue. I have not flashed a stock rom for months and months. Have flashed at least 50 cooked roms as well since not flashing stock. I always flash from SDcard. V4 is working great for me.

This is my first flash on my Kaiser, and I'm happy with this ROM, Thanks!

But I have a problem, my outlook notes are not been sync!, everything is configured to do this, "Sync Center" is not sending any error! But no notes on my kaiser!

I donloaded 3 times an flash 5 times, everythig is working great, but notes are not been sync.

Any one have this problem!

I have to say that I have not had any issues after a soft reset. I flashed the rom via USB and did a hard reset at first boot. I also have never flashed back to a stock rom before flashing a cooked rom.

With that said, this is the smoothest and fasted rom yet; I love it. Great job Abu!

I think it has to do with connecting the phone through USB port for syncing or charging. Because I noticed every time I connected the phone, it hung and then when I try to reboot it, it hard reset itself. And then you have to start all over again. My spl and radio is mentioned in my signature.


I have been having intermittent hard resets when doing a soft rest or a power on. For me it seems to happen whenever I reset or turn the device on with it plugged in (recharging). If I pull the recharger out first, it seems to soft reset/star tup fine.

You can easily get that lock screen by simply replacing (overwriting) the existing LS_LockScene_240x320.cpr file under Windows directory with the one attached.

just unzip, copy and save (overwrite).

BTW, great rom releases, Abu.
I'm still on X2V2 and I'm extremely happy with its performance as all my apps are working flawlesly.
I'll give this new one a shot shortly.

can not understand ... ROM works ok but suddenly hung when plugged in for power supply. I did a SR but it happened to perform a HR ????? Apparently I am not alone in this situation.

I must add that I am using a high capacity battery (twice the normal size) and that I had no other softs installed except those in the ROM.

I got it running again, but had to completely reinstall it.

Still kinda tweaked about the approx 2-hour reinstall.. I'm used to Tom Tom, and it worked on this one, as every other one with no reinstall. Just got the Garmin, first ROM flash, and had to reinstall... is that normal?

since i got the kaiser, i never flashed a stock rom, i've flashed over 20 times custom roms.
i've installed garmin a month ago or so on storage card, since that i've flashed several roms and garmin still works.
with v4 i've encountered 2 freezes, one in internet explorer and one in totalcmd, a soft reset with the stylus did it and none of the data was lost, so the automaticly hard reset like in the v3 didn't happen.
another bug that i've seen in v4 is when pressing the x icon to close a program it doesn't work sometimes, it acts like i would press the sidebar for scrolling (acting like a bad calibration).
and also sometimes the phone vibrates without sound when someone calls me, that happened also in v3, it acts like that sometimes when i have open a application that uses alot of ram, or something like that(sorry for my english or the repeating of words, i'm a little drunk:)) )

Reminder notification check box for 'Repeat' was inactive or greyed-out.

To return normal functionality, locate the following registry key:

Change the value "Options"=dword:

from 00a3ffd9 to 40000009 (hex).

Its alright. I did some testing since i thought even i was going crazy lol. I started testing SPL with V4. With 3.56 i think it was i got the hard reset issue as well. Rom seems to work ok with 3.29 just a few hangs but no hard reset. 3.31 and 3.34 seem to speed it up a little with no hangs at all. Only hang i have is when first booted takes a few seconds for the menus to work. Hope this helps.

3G switch is not there in Comm manager. It is very useful toggle between 3G and GSM, when you are in poor 3G reception area.

I like the way that programs and apps have been arranged but you will feel bit slowness of touch respond.

i am not sure if im missing something here but ive been using many different roms and only until now i am experiencing a problem in which when i shut my phone off it reboots as if for the first time. basically erasing all my prgrams and stuff and it goes into the initial setup. it almost always happens when i hard reset but rarely when i soft reset. i am just wondering if there is a bug or something or if its just my phone.

Hello, this ROM is super in theory but it often gets hung up and hard resets on its own whereby deleting all info installed. I have 3.34 spl. This has also been a problem with other 6.5roms. What gives?? Keep up the great work guys! But I may have to go back to 6.1 until these bugs get worked out.

just use v2 I've tried a lot of things to get this working including switching to 3.34 spl but it still hangs and I've had to reset it twice since I've installed it (this time, which means in about 2-3 hours) I'm not really sure what's up with this but this version is a no-go for me.

Ultimate-X2 is the name of the ROM. As for the "lite" version, I believe it just lacks Manilla 2D, opting, instead, for CHome. I, personally, don't see a need for a lite version, especially if you have a reasonable size SD card. I doubt there's any difference in speed. I, for one, prefer M2D over CHome, so I doubt I'll ever flash the "lite" version of this ROM. If anyone here has flashed both versions, are there any other differences?

P.S. Try the "Search Thread" utility. Can't expect the first post to say everything.

I got a great trouble with these latest version: pushing soft reset hardware button, at the bottom of device, with stylus, cause an hard reset instead of soft reset. so how to make a soft reset? removing the battery??

V4 Very Stable Here... Hard SPL3.28(v2)

Suggestions:
Install from SD card. After loading, remove sd card and hard reset.

Once loaded, I selected Rhodium appearance and TouchFlo only.

After synching to exchange server, loading Mobem's CE Star, soft reset. No problems.

Then tweak Manila with M2DC. Tweak remaining settings with KaiserTweak (20080613) using most of the (Advised) settings. This helps issues like slow touchflo response, tcp, location and bluetooth performance.

Have had up and running without any hard resets for 3-days. I do use SBSH's Phoneweaver to soft reset the phone every morning. No resulting hard resets.

Only bump have run into so far is PI8.5 won't install on wm6.5 rom. Coder says too much trouble to support it on an unreleased OS.... so, we'll stick with SBSH Calendar for now.

Just thought i'd drop this in incase you don't know? You can get SBSH Calendar to show upcoming appointment in M2D via copying SBSHCalendar.exe and renaming Calendar.exe use Total Commander to copy to Windows, now when tap on Calendar on M2D SBSHCalendar will opend and it also displays next appointment :)
