I just flashed the lite version. Only thing its missing is m2d. Still has the delay for menu but no biggie. Still no hard reset issue as well. I dunno. Good rom reza

I use V4 and I have the similar problem. More than that, my voicemail-messages are dated: 7-30-2009 (difference of 1 month).

Now that is strange.Try the settings in advanced config. See what happens. I dont have any of these issues.

This issue was discussed extensively in TPC’s thread. The end result was the conclusion that its due to the service provider’s server. They were able to fix it with the attached cab which also worked for me on my Ultimate X. V8. Worth a try.

Is there another CAB that can help me to just get the Call announce function of MSVC as rest of the functions are working very nicely on my phone with “Voice and Speed Dial”.

Didnt want to quote and clutter the page. But with rezas roms under start settings personal.the phone you can select time servers. put a X in that box and let me know if it fixes it. Its the first thing i do when i flash so i overlooked it.

I tried using V3 and V4 and it is happening on both. I tried the CAB and it didn't work. I also tried changing the daylight savings time in Advanced Config and it did not fix the issue. I noticed that each time I re-flashed it showed that I was in pacific time when I am in mountain time and I corrected it, but isn't the time server supposed to automatically detect what time zone I'm in?

I'm having trouble with wifi. I've had the same problem in versions 1 to 4 of Ultimate X2, and several other 6.5 roms out there.

The first image is what I see after soft booting and trying to connect to a wlan. The second and third images are what I see after fixing the problem. The first image is missing the tabs at the bottom.

Here's what I know about this problem.

Everything works correctly for about 24 hours after I do a hard reset. I installed every app that I use, sync'd, and connected to every SSID that I use and it worked correctly all day, and I soft botted about 20 times testing it. The next day (this morning) I soft booted and the problem was back.

I get the tabs to come back by setting a junk static IP address (1.1.1.1) then going back to DHCP.

I've tried clearing all wlan settings but a soft reset repeats the problem

I have tried 5 different radios and they all show the same problem so I don't think it's radio related

I've tried 6 different WM 6.5 roms with cores 21232, 21234, 21814, 21900. All seem to have the same problem.

I've used Task manager to look at running EXEs, Services, and Devices before and after fixing the problem, but I see nothing added or removed.

I've spent several hours trying different search variations on these boards looking for similar problems, but either my search skills suck, or no one is describing the problem with the same terms I'm using.

Odd -- wifi and networking tabs all fine here. 4th-day with no hard resets. You said you've already tried different radios. Which SPL are you using? Not sure that it matters, but using Hard SPL 3.28 here. If that's not it, then maybe an app that doesn't play well with 6.5? Might try hard reset and wait a day or two to load the rest of your apps. Lastly, might consider one of Reza's recent suggestions to another poster -- load a stock rom for a while, then reload 6.5.

Sorry, I can't reproduce that either. Do you have any networks set up to automatically connect? My home and work networks always connect when they are within range, and the only time I need to visit the WiFi config screen is after a hard reset (which usually means after flashing a new ROM. I seldom need a hard reset otherwise).

well, FYI my isssues with v4 bleeded over to my v2. I'm not sure what the problem was but it's not the ROM (since I flashed one that I had been using a while and another one that wasn't even PDAcorner) and it's not the SPL (I tried 2 and they didn't fix the problem) and it's not the radio (I tried 2) so now I'm flashing a stock rom, as suggested, and I'll post what happens. Some of you have said that fixes the problem.

BTW for those of you who don't know, I'm talking about the "Hard Soft reset bug" yup that's right I coined the phrase! It's pretty much when the device hangs and you do a soft reset and it thinks you did a hard reset so it wipes...O_O OMG I just thought of something. What if this bug is happening while the phone is on??

I've seen this happend a billion times already and I never thought about it till I was just talking about it. I've noticed that right before it happens all my keys no longer link to the programs and it give and error saying that the shortcut is no longer there. Also, the today screen color returns to blue (PDAcorner default is grey-black). So there must be something activating deleting everything on the phone storage while the phone is on, so when you soft reset all the info is gone then it thinks it's a new install.

I don't know if that helps (and I speak frangmentedly just like I post LOL ^_^)

Just thought i'd drop this in incase you don't know? You can get SBSH Calendar to show upcoming appointment in M2D via copying SBSHCalendar.exe and renaming Calendar.exe use Total Commander to copy to Windows, now when tap on Calendar on M2D SBSHCalendar will opend and it also displays next appointment :)

Testing V5b now for a little over an hour now...

The first thing I notice is the speed. Wow! What an improvement over V4! This ROM is very fast! No lock-ups, or power button problems that I've experienced in the previous V# ROMs. Not to mention the fact that my TomTom now acquires 8 satellites in right around 30 seconds now instead of the almost 2 minutes that I've seen in previous ROMs. If this is any indication of the final product, I'll be throwing more $ your way, Abu! Thanx for all the hard work!!!

Both from what i have on the beta. And i gotta add that i disabled the screen shutoff and had wifi on this whole time. Maxed out on performance of course. I started out on 89 percent battery and im at 78 right now. For me that is unheard of. Plus the speed is the same so thats not it.....and i have been uploading alot of junk through email. I am going to let this charge overnight and set email for every 5 minutes. I will report once im off work. Oh and yes i have all my plugind installed. Noti..weather...and twitter and facebook. All on and ready. Gotta get to bed. Later all..................................

reza, here are my first impressions of V5:

No problems flashing from SD card with SPL 3.29

In Connection Setup, the softkeys do not function. Used screen taps.

Slide Wake still can't be turned off using Advance Config. Kaiser Tweak works.

All of the software I installed from CAB files on the SD card worked fine.

It's just a preference, but I think the Microsoft Office submenu should be just that. Remove Acrobat Reader and other non-office applications or rename the submenu to something more generic.

Syncing with the Mac using Missing Sync worked fine.

Wi-Fi connection works fine.

I did not have problems with the Hot/Cold boot bug in V4 or in this version.

Randomly, I have had to push the power button twice to turn on.

Speed looks good

All in all this is a really good build. Thanks for the hard work :D

I'm getting "bad vibrations". Ever since I got the beta every text message has sent my phone into a vibrating furry (it keeps vibrating and I have to reset it to stop). Good news is I'm not getting the hard soft reset bug.

I installed a whole bunch of apps which I normally do and every thing is working flawless ... :D. The rom is very responsive and has a lot of juices (speed). Battery life is great and actually all your roms have great battery life :D. Personally, I prefer the original WM6.5_StartMenu (which you provided as a cab in the folder .. thanks) which bring out the beautiful icon set you cooked in the rom .. awesome :D

Two very very very minor points:
- missing touchflo sounds
- duplicate 'MS My Phone' shortcut - one in start/settings and one in start/

Keep it up ... bro. Will show my appreciation $oon :D

There are several issues that need fix.until now, the v5 is the best in your series rom 6.5.
connections are working fine
IE Mobile has worked very well so I dont need the added opera mobile,but also to the good only:)
interface dialer and comm if black skin will be better :D
overall look, my Kaiser is working perfect on v5b

Oh I forgot to mention. It is blazing fast and I love it.
As Smokestack mentioned the screen is off a little and you notice that especially when you are using the soft keyboard. But after manually aligning the screen it works perfectly.

How do I disable airplane mode from the end key in this rom? I tried doing the reg edit from a post I found through a search, but the item I needed to change the value of wasn't listed. Basically, I want it so that whenever I end a call and hold the end key too long, it shouldn't go into airplane mode. If you find a fix let me know.

Also, how to I make the send key go to the phone? I want it so I don't have to go to the phone tab just to call someone. I want to just hit the button and be able to see recent calls and then call the person. I am not sure how to do this as well via AE Button Plus. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

my issues are:

-- When in landscape and in SMS inbox, pressing the "X" button to close the window seems to perform a "page up" "page down" instead...

It seems just if the landscape resolution has some problem and the "X" button" triggers a click in the vertical scrollbar area (outside the scrollbar button).

When in portrait mode, closing works just fine...

-- Other programs close fine in landscape... but Manila returns to portrait orientation even though the qwerty keyboard is still out...

-- some windows (like the CommManager's for example) do not obey the close-via-ok-button and just go to the background...

-- in landscape mode, Manila's "people", "Messages" and "Mail" tabs are empty. In portrait are OK.

Go to your \Windows directory (making sure you have "Show All Files" enabled in file explorer) and look for an executable called "LongPressEndKeyApp.exe", and tap on it. Then, choose whatever you'd like it to do. Unfortunately, there is no "nothing" option, but you can choose something else at least. Hope that helps you,

I think you need to uncheck vibrate mode under start/settings/sounds & notifications/sounds/new text message

I did some more testing with beta last night...
MS push works fine, wifi works fine, GPS works fine, very fast. This is a super rom, reza. If you have not completed the final version, could you please include the latest version of google map? thanks

Okay. It was set to "Jog Wheel patched" and I went ahead and changed it to "HSUPA patched (default)." However, after a soft-reset, it made no difference.

Just so that you know -
In the states recently the LIVE SEARCH told me that there was an automatic update and I allowed it.

It updted to BING - Live Search became BING.

The menu no longer will call up the program with the live search option - but BING is there and you can start the SAME PROGRAM now with BING. It actually works faster and better I think.

I am intrigued. I moved off of the buggy-as-heck death roms a month ago to Abu's 6.1v4 and I love love love love it. It's rock solid; but future releases were deadly buggy. I seems that 6.5v5 may be solid. Time to move again?

I was wondering if the zoom on IE is working correctly in that you can zoom right out and see the whole page. A lot of the ROMs with this version of IE only allow zoom out to the level shown in the screenshot at the start of the thread and zooming in makes it way too big. Its as if its designed for a VGA screen rather than QVGA. I was wondering if its been fixed for this ROM.

Anyone able to get twitter to work with V5? Also this is the first rom to ever go haywire with screen freezes from shutting off file system cache. I didnt have any of these issues with the beta. Guess i gotta start trouble shooting :D

I installed a whole bunch of apps which I normally do and every thing is working flawless ... :D. The rom is very responsive and has a lot of juices (speed). Battery life is great and actually all your roms have great battery life :D. Personally, I prefer the original WM6.5_StartMenu (which you provided as a cab in the folder .. thanks) which bring out the beautiful icon set you cooked in the rom .. awesome :D

Two very very very minor points:
- missing touchflo sounds
- duplicate 'MS My Phone' shortcut - one in start/settings and one in start/

in V5 is there a fix for the themes not showing correctly? there are grey boxes on most of the screens and the whole screen image appears darker. this was not a problem for me on version 4L.

or is this a problem with the builds still, as i read in an earlier post microsoft have changed the way the themes are set, shown etc?

Love the ROM :) I think it is the best choice for Kaiser. One suggestion: Tho it is a matter of preference...Can you make the boot screen prettier? The default PDACorner screen looks kinna...um... ugly, has to replace with the BIOS bootscreen from here all the time: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=421572

Also does anyone experience with loosing data to a point where it hard resets when you do a soft reset? My Kaiser has been having this issue now repeatedly... Any advice on that would be awesome.

SMS and MMS doesn't work in v4. And also, windows mail client is unable to sync to public emails. It lets configure you them, but when we try to sync it, it complains saying cannot sync with current settings. However, current internet setting will work and browser is able to connect to the internet.

I've had a strange problem happen twice, phone stops responding so I had to reset with button, first time would not boot, goes past pda corner screen and light flashes but never progresses

I'd just installed nueled so thought ok maybe it was that, so I hard reset

Second time no additional software installed, I set timezone to UK, then configured active sync to sync calendar and contacts to google, went into mail configured that to google, went into advanced to set download size then schedule and the phone lost it's 3g / data connection and froze, reset button again but this time it hard reset! Strangely I think this is what I was doing when it stopped responding before

After it rebooted it displayed a window with the following error message

Error Run XML \windows\menu_operations.xml failed code 0x80004005

I'm on spl 3.56 hard 2 and radio 1.71 so going to try spl 3.34 as others here are using and then reflash.

I flash from Micro SD but it's always worked before any other ideas ?

Unit hard reset 4 times after installing rom. I am going back to 6.1 rom, I would ask you to develop 6.1 rom better, This one has bug which can not be fixed, I have tried earlier versions. They had the same bug.

This seems to be keeper!!! I'll just need to some help with that email sync error. Please help!

When trying to check mail I get:

"Error synchronizing"

Cannot connect
Cannot connect with current connection
settings. To change your connection
settings, tap settings.

After flash Connection Setup went fine and settings are ok (setting looks to be same as with Ultimate-X.V8). Opera and QuickGPS connects just fine.

With PDACorner Ultimate-X.V8 everything works great.

Solved: Well not actually know the reason for the sync error but this time that get fixed by doing second hard reset. I did hard reset after also flashing
but email didn't worked. Now I just did hard reset again and run connection setup, setup my email accounts and YES... it's working now!!! I also used my wlan connection
when I first time received email from one of my accounts. After that I tried with grps connection and then I got this sync error. Could that be reason for the sync error?.

Yeah it's amazing , speedy and stable though it crashed ( hardrests ) 3 times but I overcome that by flashing stock rom first :)

BUT

Have someone noticed something when a call arrives while the device is locked !!

To answer the call you have to do 2 steps ,, Slide ( dilaer ) to answer and then slide to answer on the lock screen. I love having the later only , So is it possible not to show the first while locking the device ?!

I dont understand how users are still having the hard reset issue with V5. The only quircks i have seen is pocket twit wont work and you cant disable file system under performances in advanced config. I even flashed SPL 3.56 to try to get it to happen. Flashed with no hard reset after and still nothing. I have noticed that with each boot connection setup is running in task manager. So i started flashing radios. Still no hardreset issue.


I can only suggest flashing stock rom a few times and see what happens. I thought we were passed that hurdle :confused:

Flashing the stock ROM seems to have cleared the hard resets up for me. V5 working for several days and resets now with no hitches.

T_T nobody is using my "hard soft reset bug" term.....all well, Anyway yeah it seems that if you flash the stock ROM you'll be fine, it's not in any other build besds v4 and possibly 5 BUT after you flash them if you switch to everything else you will have the same problem regardless of what rom you flash. so just keep a stock rom on you just in case.

After alot of testing this is what seems to work the best if you are using a older SPL. As well some other members have reported stock rom helped them. Ok anyhow. I went back to 3.56 SPL and it really sucks with 6.5 BTW. I tried a few different ways but this seems to work best. Flash to 3.34 or 3.31 and 3.29 works as well but doesnt seem as fast. Then flash STOCK ROM. Maybe even flash it a few times. Then whatever rom you want. This even cleared up all issues with V4 fo me. Not to mention it seemed to make mine run a little better. Seems snappier. Although could be because i got to remember how slow the stock rom is again lol.

Folks, PAY ATTENTION,READ THE TREAD, this rom is superb, all of these issues i'm reading about can be solved by the simple processes of how to flash a rom, i read on numerous occasions where Smokestack has basically given short tutorials on how to flash, suggested radios, and spl's, READ THE THREADS, if you can read well enough to get info on the rom then you should be able to read enough on how to flash CORRECTLY

but when i installde the language suppurt (hebrew) that worked fine in all the other roms that i used the phone went dead.
i couldent even get to the dialpad, the signle was dead too althoug i was connected (i saw the g sighn but no signle).

Thats because its no included in the rom. Plugins are for the user to install.

Now for more info no one will read or see lol. The ap Gfxboot does nothing if you have SPL 3.34 flashed other than slow it down. I tested this every which way. With 3.29 it brings scrolling up around 3.34 speed. But like i said works opposite the other way. The issues i had with twitter was from the noti plugin i had installed so i got that figured out. I was just kinda stumped why everyone was cooking that damn Gfxboost into there roms.....Reza you still using 3.29?? Switch to 3.34 as im kinda sure you are lol. Oh and the file system was also the noti app i had. Still havent searched for a newer one but it caused all kinda messes with V5. Anyhow maybe someone will read this and get some use outta it. Been busy with tons of flashing....cooking on the grill and drinking lol. Ok going back to drinking now since im all alone in the garage with my grill. Watching the rain on this lovely 4th.

I have an odd problem while running X2.V5. No sound. I *did* successfully receive a call since flashing directly from X1.V8. I first noticed it when an alarm didn't sound - there is now no sound on phone calls either. I guessed it was a strange radio rom problem (was using EMO rom for months prior to this). Wifi connects fine and camera works. FWIW, I get a "Wave device: Output error" when playing audio with coreplayer.

I have just tried the 1.71.09.01 radio, same, reflashed 1.70.19.09 emo, same, then 1.65.21.18, and same again. I'm guessing a full hard reset and/or reflash of rom will fix it - but was wondering if any lurkers had had the same issue :)

And then five minutes later, it occurs to me I installed the WOW SRS HD cab about the same time.. uninstalled this and all working. Made that a bit hard for myself :D


I have noticed a strange glitch with reminders/alarms though, which was the same on X2.V3. When setting an alarm via the clock, Alarm5 sounds as set in alarm window, but then my "reminder" sound (a different mp3 file) plays directly afterwards. I'm not sure if this a WM6.5 thing, but I've never seen it in any official or cooked 5/6/6.1 roms before

Have gotten to the point where between Arthemus Taskbar and Minimal Dialer, one of them is messing up the connections on my phone. I did click the direct push and the ATT settings came up. Didn't help with the probs I was having so I have been starting from scratch again and again to find the culprit....lol.

I had this same problem in V2, V3, and V4 it followed to V5. If I use Button plus to assign "lock device" to the side OK button, Short press. It works fine IF TF2D is running, but if I go to Titanium a short press of the OK button is the same as pressing the windows icon.

Any input (no pun there really) appreciated.

with the titanium weather cab install you need to place the titaniumweather.mscr into programs/titanium weather for it to work ;) just thought i would help lol cya :D

For me as well, it downloads the file just fine. But when I unzip it, it gets to 90% and says that the file is corrupt/broken and doesn't finish unzippint it.

It says this each time and I've tried it several different times from several different computers trying both 7z and winrar. Nothing helps.

You have probably installed the "new heb support only"
try to install the earlier version (without the wince.nls)
Then you will get support in this last version of x2
I got the same problem like you but solved it by this way.

Is anyone having a problem syncing their Notes(part of Outlook not Lotus Notes) with Outlook on the version 4 and 5. I noticed this and when I went back and flasjed the stock Rom before going to V5, i was able to sync notes and contacts. Flashed and again, no notes but i do get my contact list...Great ROM's otherwise though

I tried to do several hardresets in a row just to be sure, but after changing some settings wich needed a softreset. The hard reset kicks in again.

I think i wil go back to v2 for now and see what happens.

NB: i upgraded the conventional way this never caused any problems so far, (not first a stock ROM or from SD card)

sorry to dissapoint you but at some point the v2 ROM will do the same thing this "hard soft reset" bug as far as we know can only be taken care of my flashing a stock ROM then flashing the v5 ROM (give up on v4 if you're tried). I don't think anyone know's what's causing it but at the moment this is all we can do about it.

I've downloaded the file from the link for Ultimate-X2.V5 in the OP three times and it says the file is broken each time I try to unzip it. I tried from multiple computers both this morning and tonight.

It seems somehow a few of you have the working file. Could you please post a direct link to it. Thank you very much.

I just downloaded it and unpacked it using 7zip. Worked fine for me.

What I did was:
First HardSPL-3.56

1.)flash stock att 6.1 rom
2.)tap screen when prompted
3.)hard reset
4.)tap screen/then do the screen alignment
5.)let the customization process do its thing
6.)after it's done and reboots i do another hard reset
7.)flash custom(cooked) rom
8.)tap screen when prompted
9.)do hard reset
10.)tap screen/then do the screen alignment, and i proceed from there with installing my aps and all
11.) flash radio 1.71.09.01

Works beautifully until I install my custom PDACorner_AKMark.cab file. Once I install that .cab my Kaiser becomes very slow and stops responding to screen touches.

Reading release notes, what a concept! I used to run a software R&D lab for a major company, the idea that you can just drop anything on top of anything seems so totally odd to me. :p

On the same theme SmokeStack76 points something out that EVERY V5 users should do: Disable GfxBoost and Flash SPL 3.34!!!!!!. I had a very flaky V4 running for several days when I saw his post. Before I flashed V5 I disabled GfxBoost and most of my issues stopped. So when I flashed to V5 it was the first thing I did I haven't had one slow down, soft reset etc in about 12 hours of testing.

Thanks TwoPump...like I said before; Why is this thing so hard to configure? The weather data configured in the titanium panel should auto-populate to the radar panel. But at least there is a fix... now to find a valid URL that works!

I followed the directions on the post you provided and through a little trial and error got it working. For US users, it appears that yahoo weather is the easiest to configure. I will play with it a bit over the next few days and see if I can find a better source of images.

The real trick is to make sure your enter the entire URL, in the post he uses weather.yahoo.com/XXXX you have to enter the http:// or the app won't find the URL. That would be obvious to some, not so much to others. Also make sure you right click on the image you want to get the correct URL, it has to be a .jpg not .html for example: http://weather.yahoo.com/images/us_dca_metroradar_medium_usen.jpg will work fine for the Washington, DC area but:
http://weather.yahoo.com/img/us_dca_metroradar_medium_usen.html will NOT. notice not only is the file extension different so is the file structure.

I will post more information on this as I dig it up, thanks again!

the way I do it, go to start>settings>system>button plus and reassign the side OK key to device lock. Makes it quick and easy to lock the device, HOWEVER, this only seems to work if you use TF2d, even if you reassign the button it will launch the start menu in Titanium.

After alot of testing this is what seems to work the best if you are using a older SPL. As well some other members have reported stock rom helped them. Ok anyhow. I went back to 3.56 SPL and it really sucks with 6.5 BTW. I tried a few different ways but this seems to work best. Flash to 3.34 or 3.31 and 3.29 works as well but doesnt seem as fast. Then flash STOCK ROM. Maybe even flash it a few times. Then whatever rom you want. This even cleared up all issues with V4 fo me. Not to mention it seemed to make mine run a little better. Seems snappier. Although could be because i got to remember how slow the stock rom is again lol.

Is anyone having a problem syncing their Notes(part of Outlook not Lotus Notes) with Outlook on the version 4 and 5. I noticed this and when I went back and flasjed the stock Rom before going to V5, i was able to sync notes and contacts. Flashed and again, no notes but i do get my contact list...Great ROM's otherwise though

Stock rom means whatever came with your phone. Seems to clear the memory better.no one is sure why...or how but it just does. And dont forget if you change SPL to reflash the rom as well. Makes a big difference. Thats why i say SPL then stock then rom. Not sure if the ROM gets info from the SPL when flashing but it kinda seems to. Wish i had a PC right now as i could test all these theories of mine.....but this is all that works the best for me....and so far alot of other users.

on the serious side, keep in mind whatever Stock ATT ROM you flash will also flash the stock radio so you will have to re-flash the radio of your choice either before or after you flash a cooked ROM.

on the humorous side, Smoke, I didn't chose to get a BB, it was issued to me. That's what happens when you get a job with a government contractor. It is my plan for this week (after hours of course) to get BB connect working on my tilt so I can give the damn thing back. BlackBerry may have it's good points, but I haven't found any yet. :rolleyes:

Ok here is the last bit of info i can provide for awhile. I was always big on the whole why flash STOCK rom..Well with almost all of the newer 6.1 roms and im sure alot of the 6.5 roms they use the nk.exe hack...or mem hack. From the limited testing i can do it seems that there are alot of mem blocks completly relocated....duhh right? Well there is no way to clear them other than stock rom. To me anyhow......seems that stock either overwrites ALL the blocks of mem or takes them all over. Sooo this is why its important to flash stock rom.

try SmartLock.. it makes your phone use the default lock when the screen dims (but for some reason won't keep the dim settings if u change it from 10 seconds)

Ahh. did you see my post on the flashing stock rom reza? Just wanted to know your thoughts on the memory issue from nk.exe hacks. I might be wrong but just seems to make sense with how stock rom fixes issues. Just to tough without a PC to test stuff.

only problem i had was after installing skype.... big time laaaagg.. fone become really slow when skype was connected...
soft reset seemed to fix.. but not sure......
also the battery........
its drains too fast.... i have 2 bars left and it was charged yesterday....
no calls nothing.. just connected wifi this morning with skype to test new rom on net....

You have probably installed the "new heb support only"
try to install the earlier version (without the wince.nls)
Then you will get support in this last version of x2
I got the same problem like you but solved it by this way.

You were right. I went back to stock ROM (tmobile 6.1 NL) and then upgraded to V5 again. I think i installed alle the programs again, but i havent had hard reset yet.

I have SPL 3.29 (wich i cannot seem to upgrade) and Radio version 1.70.xxx

Are you following the specific instructions on how to flash an SPL? It does't work like a ROM or Radio Flash. If not please read this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=498320) on how to flash a Secondary Program Loader (SPL).

V5 is running great for me. I have not noticed any bugs so far, save that I can't close messaging windows while in landscape. No biggie, though. I just close it in portrait mode.

I have not tried flashing a different SPL yet, but I just disabled GfxBoost, and that seems to speed things up a bit.

Great ROM, Reza! I will continue to be dedicated to your X2 releases! Hopefully, one of these days I'll have some money to donate.

I just got my Kaiser phone last week and after trying out a few different ROMs have settled on the AMAZING Ultimate X2. This ROM rocks!

I got this phone specifically so I could use cell and VOIP connections. In order to be able to switch back and forth between cell and VOIP, I disabled the TouchFlo plugin from Today, and activated the "Internet Calling" plugin.

I have a problem in that Internet Calling ALWAYS displays "Searching..." even though I have a verified connection. I can make AND receive calls. However, clicking on "Searching..." does alternate between VOIP and cell. I can see the cell strength meter go off and on and the dialler network changes too.

Is there some reason why the status doesn't change to "Available" and "Selected" as it is supposed to? Is this problem specific to U-X2? Or general to Windows Mobile?

If anyone can offer a solution, I'd be very grateful.

I'm sure that if you asked 100 people these questions you would get 100 different answers but for me it is most definitely NOT about latest and greatest. When I look at flashing a ROM to a piece of equipment that I trust my life too, think about it if you had to call 911 (emergency number in the US) would you want an unproven ROM? I want one that is stable, well tested and comes from a Chef that I trust. So, beyond that, my ROM choices are based on perceived device speed, the amount of memory used/free and the Chef's reputation. Is Abu's 6.5 V5 ROM faster than 6.1? That depends entirely on how YOU configure it, if you load up a lot of applications it may not be. For me in a near naked (as flashed) configuration, yes it is much faster. Does GPS lock faster? I have tested it and Yes it does, but again if you use a different radio, SPL or GPS application you may get different results.

The short version of all this is: we can tell you how much better 6.5 is over 6.1 but the reality is only YOU can make the determination for yourself.

I have been flashing, cooking and beta testing ROMs for over 4 years starting back with the Wizard platform, the_Loon and _Alex_ ROMs, WM5.0 and WM6.0. In my experience Abu's Ultimate-X2.V5 is the fastest, most stable ROM I have tested. Does it have bugs? Of course it does, that's our job, to find them and document them here on XDA.

Hope my little monolog helps with your decisions.

Just wanted to say flashing SPL 3.34 then stock orange TYTNII WM6.1 rom which also reverted radio to 1.65, doing a few hard resets and then flashing V5 Ultimate 6.5 seems stable now.

I was going to reflash radio 1.71 but to be honest I'm amazed at the battery life on 1.65 and it's working :-) I had 2 bars on the battery at the start of a day and it made it through the day!

that was with 2 hourly gprs imap checking and 4 hourly google calendar & contacts over gprs and a 5 min phone call.

Now if I could get over the windows mobile / googlemail smtp send issue over gprs / 3g I'd be lauging.

Question: are you syncing notes from your local Outlook or an Exchange server? I want to reproduce your conditions as much as possible.

I have read and read and read, but still can't figure out how to get a weather tab set up via CHome, nor get the weather app to work. I've used the CHome editor to create the tab, but it doesn't show up. I've also attempted to run the weather app, but I get an error related to .NET. Thanx.

No direct sync with Outlook application on my desktop PC.

Abu can you post the .cab file for the QVGA of Opera 9.5 v16627 that you included in V4? I really liked it, but am currently using TPC's 6.5 Rom v6.1, and it doesn't have it :(. If you could post it, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks. V4 was really great for the time I had it, just wanted to try something new.

Hi abu, great roms but i repeatedly face one problem.

When a call arrives, the contact pops up on the screen almost immediately, but it takes around 5 or 6 rings from the callers end for me to hear the ring on my phone.

Eg. You call me and i will see your name on my screen but it will seem for you as if i picked your call only after 6 rings, but only then my phone rings!! HELP me a lot of people are complaining that i am not picking the call immediately due to this...

Just wanted to say flashing SPL 3.34 then stock orange TYTNII WM6.1 rom which also reverted radio to 1.65, doing a few hard resets and then flashing V5 Ultimate 6.5 seems stable now.

So radio 1.65 is the best for battery life? My battery is draining quite fast compared to last time. Use 2 battery pack a day :(

the problem isnt with the rom, its with myphone. myphone is still beta, the last couple of pages of my thread some people posted links from microsoft explaining this....the service is down right now.

I'm sure that if you asked 100 people these questions you would get 100 different answers but for me it is most definitely NOT about latest and greatest. When I look at flashing a ROM to a piece of equipment that I trust my life too, think about it if you had to call 911 (emergency number in the US) would you want an unproven ROM? I want one that is stable, well tested and comes from a Chef that I trust. So, beyond that, my ROM choices are based on perceived device speed, the amount of memory used/free and the Chef's reputation. Is Abu's 6.5 V5 ROM faster than 6.1? That depends entirely on how YOU configure it, if you load up a lot of applications it may not be. For me in a near naked (as flashed) configuration, yes it is much faster. Does GPS lock faster? I have tested it and Yes it does, but again if you use a different radio, SPL or GPS application you may get different results.

The short version of all this is: we can tell you how much better 6.5 is over 6.1 but the reality is only YOU can make the determination for yourself.

I have been flashing, cooking and beta testing ROMs for over 4 years starting back with the Wizard platform, the_Loon and _Alex_ ROMs, WM5.0 and WM6.0. In my experience Abu's Ultimate-X2.V5 is the fastest, most stable ROM I have tested. Does it have bugs? Of course it does, that's our job, to find them and document them here on XDA.

Hope my little monolog helps with your decisions.

Russ, thank you, that certainly helps! I am glad to know that you find this ROM faster than 6.1. I really wanted to know about it ceteris paribus, I know applications will slow it down anyway.
Unfortunately, my GPS seems to function properly only with the 1.27... radio that came with stock WM 6.0, so that I cannot use this ROM yet (it will have no sound with the old radio). I hope I shall somehow, sometime fix my GPS issues so that I may profit from this ROM.

Just wanted to post some useless info. I spent the last few days testing each version. For me V1 is still the fastest and best. V1 also displays the WIFI network you are conected to under the clock. Very usefull to me. It can also handle all the plugins you can throw at it. So please reza dont get caught up in the newest greatest builds. Continue with 1 build and perfect it. Then see what happens......yes i know i have said this before. But never tested build for build like now. So anyhow V1 seems to be the most stable and well rounded of the group. Reminds me of my all time favorite V19. Rock solid no matter what.

Hi sorry for the late reply, kids are sick ...

I do sync notes from my local outlook files, no other server implied in the process.

Strangely, the "notes" section in the options field of Activesync is greyed out and the case related to note in the WMDC (windows 7 RC) auto-switches itself off even if it is on before the synchronisation... ???

I hope this is clear enough ...

Dunno why but it seems I have a problem with lag Outlook Express openning in the v5. It takes rather long for the first open of the OE, then it's fine to open SMS or emails. Is this because I have too many sms and 3 push mail accounts? I HR some times and it still happens. Thanks for advices.

Install "ClearTemp" program and uninstall again, it will solve the problem.

I brick my phone last year and do not remember which hardspl it is.

I used various roms, and my previous rom was Pda Corner V18 Ultimate.

Sorry to ask this question but i read at first page that Radio and Hardspl has to be changed.
I didnt understand it.

What i have to do? I already installed rom but my radio is 1.65, and like i said, i bricked it with hardspl
