hmm, here is an assumption, when activesync is set up automatically it will ask you to put a password thus enabling the lphone lock feature, could the lock be the problem? as before that i did not have lock active nor activesync when it was working.

but when u setup activesync your are requested to make a password for lock.

For what it is worth, iGO 8.3.2.83157 works fine for me, and I have activesync set up.

iGO Amigo 8.4.2.81333 works as well...

For what it is worth, iGO 8.3.2.83157 works fine for me, and I have activesync set up.


...and iGO 8.3.2.93112 and iGO 8.3.2.97313 also work fine for me with activesync.

I had high hopes for X2 v6, and while 6.5 is pretty darn cool, I ran into a lot of bugs. Haven't read this forum except the pages since the v6 release yesterday, so forgive me if I mention something someone already has:

-The BIGGEST issue was that my phone "turned off" or something overnight. My alarm didn't go off, and I woke up to a steady orange LED. The power button wouldn't power it down or power it up. I had to unlock the SIM card and relock it before the thing would power up. I haven't had a ROM lock up over the last several dozen flashes, so this was weird. Anyone else?

-I also had trouble with the Twitter app. After setting it up to check every 5 minutes, I was getting an error screen every 5 minutes. It's missing some kind of file, and I'll report back with the specifics later. (Can anyone recommend a great Twitter app for Windows Mobile?)

-I can also report strange icon troubles in Total Commander, and on chome when I get new e-mail.

I have high hopes for this ROM series, and can't wait to see where it goes! Thanks for the hard, hard work.

Yes, the newest version of skyfire does exactly the same thing for me with this rom.

However, a very slightly older build (1.0.0.11783) works just fine on X2-V6. Don't let it update on first run when it prompts you, or it will just start shutting down once opened again. I have attached this for you :)

did notice that a bluetooth notification is pupping up every time a disconnect my phone from my bluetooth carkit. message is a warning i disconnected... any way to disable this?

Active Sync is working for me just fine.
I got two phones running v6 right now.

So far I changed my keyboard layout to AT&T/Cingular but the ! and the @ are reversed. I checked the registry and everything looks like it's set correctly.

Also in CHome if use the touch screen to get into text messages or email it seams to freeze for awhile before I can do anything.
If I hit my Mail button it's fine. I can immediately move up and down side to side.. etc..

GPS seamed to work fine but when I tried google maps it wouldn't.

This is my first time using CHome so I'm getting used to it.
I noticed there are calendar items but no tasks. I'll have to read up and see if there is an add in to show that.

All in all I am happy.

I need to install Palringo, and I'll hold up on SkyFire and give this new PIE a chance.. But I saw the earlier posts on using an older version. Thanks Hicks!

How do I disable the sickness application from the start up menu or reduce the system checks? I found out the motorscript was killing my idle time.
I have to kill the application manually through task manager every time I restart my phone.

I have already disable the chome screen.

U can use the CHome Editor in the Utilities folder to disable different panels...

I was running TPC 7.1 and i had 3.3. So I am not sure. Just set the Keyboard Layout to custom and you should be good. After a PWR Cycle and maybe reinstall the fix

Easy way is to use the SD card.

1. copy the splxxxxx.nbh to the ROOT of your sd card & rename it to kaisimg.nbh
2. place a copy of the kaisimg.nbh on the ROOT as well
(found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=115207&d=1222120195)
3. with the phone ON (any status), press and hold the camera button then insert stylus until the tricolor boot loader appears then let go and follow the instructions onscreen.

I surely agree with your statement. I also use my kaiser for business and am in need of seeing the items on my calendar on the today page, just like SPB shell.
Is there anyway to get CHOME display the items in your calendar below the clock?

I experienced the same issue. i reflashed the stock rom for the tilt then reflashed. no issues since...replying on the bus from my tilt :)

I ran X2.V6 for the day, and I miss a few of the nice things you cooked into X1.V2... Maybe bugs, maybe features, that's up to the Chef to decide...

1) Volume by hitting the o.k. button... is either missing or not working.
2) When I get a text message notification at the bottom of the screen, hitting reply closes the notification, but doesn't reply
3) When I re-open the notification by hitting the notification icon at the top of the screen, reply opens the messages for a reply, BUT...
4) The focus is not placed on the text box, and I have to manually select it with my finger.

Other than that, it seems to work for me. chome will take some getting used to, and may just swap over to SPBMobileShell... I'm in the 15 day trial, and I like it. Will you have a lite version?

I like your theme, and I REALLY like the boot animation you are using... makes it look like it's actually doing something *hehehehehe*

Yeah. Had the same thing in roms by other cooks. I have more keys out of whack on this one. Kinda annoying....otherwise I love this rom, and plan to keep it for a bit.

2. Run JumpSPL1.56-KAIS.exe from main memory
3. Flash from USB: kaiser_hardSPL_1.0
4. Flash from SD: HSPL 3.34 by DaveShaw
5. Flash from SD: Ultimate-X2.V6.CHome
6. Flash from SD: Radio 1.71.09.01

I did similar and it solved it on V5, V6 has been fine, I followed the FAQ

1) change spl to 3.34

2) battery out, then in & flash stock rom & radio (mine's in one)

3) wait for stock rom to calibrate screen, then hard reset

4) let stock rom boot and go through welcome

5) power off & remove battery

6) flash Cooked Rom, let it go through welcome & hard reset

I flashed from SD card (remember must be fat32 format) as I cannot get the usb to work and it's quicker!

If I disable the windows default tap undersettings today and customise the today screen i get a message from time to time.

Any advice would be greatfully appreciated.

I like this ROM very much!

There's one thing that is really annoying. When I get out of my car and the blue tooth connection is disconnected, I get a notification that the car disconnected and that I should put the phone to my ear......

Is there a way to get rid of this?

I installed the factory ROM then UX2V5. I did not like the WM6.5 user interface so wehnt back to UXV4 which has been great for me.

My only problem is that now I cant get the audio to work when when taking video clips.
I have tried 5 different radios including the one worked before. Audio is enabled when in video mode.

Is there something else I am missing?

I believe he means to flash the official WM 6.1 ROM and then X2.V6. It just wipes the EEPROM of any cooked code, and gets the device back to factory fresh before putting the custom ROM on.

Stock ROM is an OEM ROM so therefore an original branded HTC\AT&T ROM to which can be found in WIKI (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Kaiser_ROMs)

if you see the first post it says there "Link V6: Ultimate-X2.V6.CHome.rar" which means its has CHome and no M2D, also check the screen shots and you will find no M2D shots there either, what does that tell you :)

agreed. This is why I've avoided M2D, and am worried I'll see the same or worse issue with 6.5.

I always disable M2D and just put TodayAgenda on as my main Today item (plus a weather app and message/missed call app). Get all my appts and tasks, right there on the main screen. Been very puzzled that so many of the other Today-screen replacements (M2D, TouchFlo, etc), don't seem to support such a basic (IMO) feature ?!?!

Been sticking with Abu's 6.1 ROM so far, but watching the 6.5 progress.. what's my best option under 6.5 for getting appts/tasks on the main screen.. anyone running TodayAgenda?

This may not be a truly great workaround, but what I do is use S2U2 as a second "homescreen" per se as well as a locking program... It has the ability to show the current date and time, show your appointments (all day and otherwise I think for the next 14 days), gives you the day's weather in a little icon on the lower left hand side (provided that you are using M2D weather or one of the weather programs supported) and will give you notifications on email and text messages (as well as short previews when they come in) as well as missed calls... That way, I have the features of CHome and M2D with the ability to view my appointments that would be otherwise missed both the other two UIs...

S2U2 has come a long way from its original release and I install it on all the ROMs I flash...

Ok so i apologize if this has been asked/resolved. I've scanned through all 100+ pages but i may have missed it.

If the phone locks up randomly (activesync or something else) and I manually restart it (reset button) the phone will completely re-customize itself and wipe out all info (like a hard reset). The connection setup wizard reappaears and the phone is like brand new once completed.

this has happened twice since the flash.

Flashed 3.34hardspl - stripped ATT stock rom - x2.v6

did i miss something - appreciate any response.

4) let stock rom boot and go through welcome
5) power off & remove battery
6) flash Cooked Rom, let it go through welcome & hard reset
I flashed from SD card (remember must be fat32 format) as I cannot get the usb to work and it's quicker!

I am not sure if flashing from SD has anything to do with it, but it was the same process I used... Make sure you don't skip the steps of pulling the battery..

I have been running for about a day and a half with out issue.

Nicely said sphinx88, as a matter of best practice I have made it a habbit to remove and reinsert the battery when ever I am removing and replacing the SIM and SD card for new flash and I don't remember having any problem with any of my flashes.

some people on different ROMs have reporting that their device hard resetting when trying to soft reset and have resolved it by properly following the procedure that you mentioned

I have never had to flash from an SD card but its a very good method to follow when you are having problems with your flash, again people on various threads and ROMs have reported very good results when flashing from SD card

I can't give you a diffinitive answer..
But since WM6.5 it's become more important to go back to a stock ROM so as the Flash is cleaner, the H-SPL has to do with the newer builds so the H-SPL matches the build.
Sorry i can't be more precise some things we just have to do without questioning, especially if we get a better outcome :D

Because most of the newer roms have hacked Nk.exe and or other files that seem to want to stick around in the memory. Causing issues when you flash another rom. Stock roms do better at clearing the memory than the cooked roms. So i guess they are good for something at least lol.

well I agree, only I have to admit that the window layout of 6.5 is looking nice, and Abu has cooked a nice dialer inside x2.v6.

Would be great (IMO) to have a 6.5 rom, without chome or titanium but with M2D and the latest applications cooked in.

but then again, most important: this is the way abu believes he must make his roms and basically: most of his roms are great. If we want something else we have to make a rom our self and share this on xda. Only problem is I not wizz doing this..

For the battery problem u need to run the file in the zip. But u need to have sktools installed(I exported the registry from rom in which this was working).

Startup Items Query:

I've removed Sickness_SP from my Chome and moved the mortscript out of windows\startup

there is another startup mortscript in here called checkstatus, I'm completely noob to all this but the script appears to read some reg keys and is always running, can anyone tell me what I'll lose if I disabled this one too ?

I may have another 2 bugs

1) Voicemail doesn't register on phone - I can't verify this is not an operator issue as I'm on 3 in the uk, can anyone else check if their voicemails show on the phone voicemail counter ?

2) when using total commander and selecting a folder the icon changes but doesn't look right.

ok - i'll give this a go - step by step - i'll follow it and see.

oh btw - this may be way too simple a fix but are you having trouble getting activesync to find the device via usb? have you checked your windows firewall? a few of my friends always complain about the usb/activesync and find that they set 'no exceptions' or dont have activesync allowed through the fw.

just a shot in the dark - off to flash - i'll let you know if this helps

I haven't really messed with CHome yet, but try looking here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3734148&postcount=2) at the bottom two items. CHome editor seems to be the standard, but Titanizer probably has an easier interface. I think I'll try it for myself right now...

The CVolume is only working when press " Vibrate " option , I can't toggle the load or the silent or the normal modes.

you are right, all the registry entries are correct and it should work...we are taking out of our roms for next version because of this. honestly its not a very good app in my opinion anyway, its too hard to plug in your location and all it uses is a webpage radar that you can set in your favs in internet explorer and see just the same with alot less hassle. if you find a radar that you like, all you have to do is right click on the radar pic(cant be in flash) and click on properties. then copy/paste the link for the pic on your faves and you have full page radar on ie, opera, etc. :)

im still poking around on the thread for the answers, but have 2 questions, after cleaning up the chome page more to my liking, i cant figure out how to get my phone to lock? if i use the classic today screen i can add the lock button and it works fine, but not from the chome page, and help would be greatly appreciated

2nd, when i slide the keyboard open and try to use the function keys, all of them seem to be mapped different, example if i do function+d on the keyboard it says i sould be typing in an ':' but instead it types '%', and if i typr function+p the wi-fi turned on instead of giving me the ')'

ive seen in the advanced setting were the keyboard is set to custom, so i swithed it to att/cingular and still got the same results... any ideas?

for you first problem, just hold the end key which would bring up the "quick list" menu, and you can select lock device from there. for your second problem, just search xda for kaiser keyboard fix, there is a cab file out there that will fix the layout.

Can anyone say why Resco Sudoku Touch does not work on Ultimate-X, Ultimate-X2. It is working fine on stock ROM. And on earlier versions of Ultimate.
But not on Ultimate-X or Ultimate-X2.

There's also noticeable lag in Worms, a game I play often. Although the YouTube videos are smoother than on the old Ultimate X ROM I was on, the program is much more flaky and I have to turn the screen on and off to get it to show related videos and such.

In any case... fantastic ROM and I can't wait to see where 6.5 takes us, but I'm back to 6.1 for the forseeable future. Does anyone recommend Xv8?

Same here - I followed everyone's suggestions on carefully flashing 3.34 taking out batteries/sims, reflashing stock roms, taking out batteries, flashing x2v6 - which all works great -

but 2 days in a row - when i woke up - activesync was hung (exchange synchronization), poutlook wouldnt open, when I soft-reset - the entire phone rebuilds itself and i have a clean build again.

Guess there's somethign going on with Activesync/Poutlook if its set for exchange sync. I read that people were having trouble with igo and exchange - but this seems a little different.

the rom looks great, loved the layout, but i cant keep rebuilding my phone every morning. Any other suggestions? i'd hate to hve to leave the rom - it looks like it could really be a keeper

I like V6 a lot but the battery life i'm getting is horrible. 25 min phone call and the battery went from 100% all the way down to 49% :( I've tried a few different radios with the same results. :confused:

There's one thing that is really annoying. When I get out of my car and the blue tooth connection is disconnected, I get a notification that the car disconnected and that I should put the phone to my ear......

Is there a way to get rid of this?

sorry i don't have a bluetooth device to test it, but there's a "dismiss" options you can choose from. my rom has a bluetooth car kit support so these action will be appear everytime you connect/ disconected your car kit.

Which ActiveSync issue are you referring to? I used X2v6 for two days with no trouble with Exchange.

Back to Xv8 for now, but not liking it so much either - but not because of Exchange.

Huh - maybe ActiveSync caused the lockup overnight, but my screen was black and wouldn't wake up, so I have no way of knowing. I too always flash taking all the precautions (stock rom, removing sim/SD, etc.), so I'm wondering if it was a radio issue or something else that kept me from enjoying X2v6... everyone else says "best/fasted ROM ever," which isn't what I experienced.

hello all. this is the first time i have ever used a rom off of the XDA site and let my just say that its absolutly, hands down, light years better then the 6.1 rom i got from ATT/HTC!!!

Anyway, still enjoying the hell out of V6. The more I think about it, I'd still like the option of having M2D, but I think a cab would be the way to go.

Several people in this thread have complained that with this ROM, their Kaiser hard resets when they try to soft reset. It seems that most of us have not experienced this problem at all. We're trying to all use the same SPL and flash stock ROM first, so we have enough in common to make troubleshooting a little easier.

Thanks for the reply. If i use any other SPL other than 3.29, like 3.34, 3.56 etc. the wifi switch in Comm Manager is always grayed out (no on/off function) i can turn wifi on from the advanced settings though. i was wondering if someone else experienced this problem.

I wish I had PhotoShop or something installed right now, but my laptop is kinda slow...

Anyway, I'd say just do something similar to this with a small icon or two overlayed to designate what the folder is. Just use the same little icons that are overlayed on the folders in your current start menu folder icons.

I don't know if this is the sort of idea you were searching for.

Edit: Just noticed my "shading" is off by about 20 degrees. You get the idea, though, I hope. You could overlay a music note on the left side of the folder for "Multimedia," etc.

Not a bad idea. That could do a lot for avoiding confusion, if there won't be any labeling. One suggestion:

Make the brown lighter? Something closer to the color of an actual folder might help to make that connection in people's minds. Make it a little more yellow?

Not sure you can if you are using TPChome. With file explorer look in device my documents personal folder and install default Chome...then your apps will work.

The only thing i would like to suggest reza for newer builds is Your status bar ICONS. They are the best and kinda like your trade mark lol. SO like if you cooked those in and include a .cab for the drab white ones :D

the reason you cant install other apps with my chome is because the cpr name is different than default. also my cpr is pretty complicated with the different sized windows and takes more than just installing an app to get it to look right. we do this(change name of cpr) for a reason, so people can have a choice between my chome and the default for people who dont like it. what app are you trying to add to it? if its one that is compatible i will see about adding it in for future releases :D

Just flashed to version 6 and its awesome. Fixed some of my problems that i was having with ver 5. Changed to Dave Shaw hard spl, I think made all the difference in the fash

I'm having trouble with wifi. I've had the same problem in versions 1 to 4 of Ultimate X2, and several other 6.5 roms out there.

The first image is what I see after soft booting and trying to connect to a wlan. The second and third images are what I see after fixing the problem. The first image is missing the tabs at the bottom.

Here's what I know about this problem.

Everything works correctly for about 24 hours after I do a hard reset. I installed every app that I use, sync'd, and connected to every SSID that I use and it worked correctly all day, and I soft botted about 20 times testing it. The next day (this morning) I soft booted and the problem was back.

I get the tabs to come back by setting a junk static IP address (1.1.1.1) then going back to DHCP.

I've tried clearing all wlan settings but a soft reset repeats the problem

I have tried 5 different radios and they all show the same problem so I don't think it's radio related

I've tried 6 different WM 6.5 roms with cores 21232, 21234, 21814, 21900. All seem to have the same problem.

I've used Task manager to look at running EXEs, Services, and Devices before and after fixing the problem, but I see nothing added or removed.

I've spent several hours trying different search variations on these boards looking for similar problems, but either my search skills suck, or no one is describing the problem with the same terms I'm using.

I figured out that the problem is being caused by Sprite Terminator. After installing terminator my wifi stops working. If I uninstall terminator and do a soft reset, it starts working again.

I'm pretty sure the same will go as abz has said since the Topaz dialer is a new port and it doesn't work with it's own vibrate function so the issue is probably the same.

Can I ask a few questions about WindowsMobile in general but likely specific to this rom

1) Your original 6.5 had voice command / dialing - can I grab the cab as an optional install as I need this whilst driving to make calls :-)

2) With a Bluetooth headset call audio is routed to it but on a WM phone how do you map all audio (i.e. tomtom / mediaplayer) my old nokia s60 did this and it can be handy.

3) Is there anyway to get a view of todays appointments on chome or more importantly on the lock screen as I'm a nightmare at forgetting stuff and I don't want to have to install spb mobile shell again as I like Chome and the slide lock

4) really simple, where should I put ring tones, they work when they're in mydocuments folder but I try a subfolder and they're not shown ?

I am not sure if it is only me or if others have the same problem. The phone somehow start ringing too late and by the time I get to the phone, its already too late. I have tried calling my cell phone myself and I realized it start ringing after the second or third beep. Are you guys have the same problem? Any idea how to fix or improve this?

Well, no. I had that problem in some of Abu 6.1 ROM and not all of them so I think it must be something wrong.


My problem is that phone is to quiet I've "loud" profile and it's not that loud. with my previous 6.5 rom TPC has cab for volume up phone will it work ? or maybe problem is somewhere else

Because abz has no way of testing Video Call and users can install themselves, oh and another reason many users have Tilts that don't have a front Camera ;)

You can do what STYLEZ suggested to me and bump up the DB a bit it works fine nice and load check the post below

Some times thats even just the network or something. I can setup both my tilts the same and one will start to ring after the first ring..and the other after the 4th lol.

You can play around with different radios though and see if one helps.

well the easiest thing to do would be to incease the amount of time your phone rings before it goes to voicemail, just my personal opinion. Usually it's found in the "services" section of the dialer options
