Disable Topaz Startmenu and have the old dropdown startmenu

Does anybody know how to get the old dropdown menu back in de new topaz:confused: is there a working cab to fix this?
i dont like the start program button at all.

I will dump this rom as soon as i can

I like that it goes straight to programs..... Note I am still with my elfin on WM6.5 Rom..... I hope that later we can change the menue setup to look like WM6.5 and not HTC's menu.

One thing I hated was that I did not have my recent programs anymore but I got used to it after I adjusted my most used to the top.

This would completely turn off touch flow though...... Loook I came u with something useful....lol

But tell me if I'm wrong.... It'd have to be cooked into a rom with a different start menu.... correct?

I just thought of something. Not sure if the above post will work exactly but it is a nice find. +1 Wardy.

But my thought was that it probably is just a Registry edit.... I guess.... I'm by no means and expert at any of this. But mebe browse around the registry and see if anything gives a hint as to the start bar. Then try to disable it. It will take time hunting fo it but mebe there is an edit you can do. IDK.

the alternative i use is quickmenu

you can keep the present start menu going to programs immediately pressing the word start.
and you have a drop down menu if you press the flag.

That sounds intrestingly nice. Can you provide a video or screen shots of it? Also a link please?

I could search for Quickmenue but am lazy today. :D


Edit: I found this (http://pocketnow.com/index.php?a=portal_detail&t=news&id=7287) while google searching the TD2 in news. Just install the CAB and the registry hacks will be done for you. Soft reset and go.

Just installed on my Elfin with Onyx 6.5 Rom. I can verify that it definitly works. Hit the flag and you get the old type menue.... Hit the Start and the 6.5 Programs menue is launched.

Only problem I see so far is that the start menu could be larger for finger press but I am a pro at typing on the MS keyoard so no problem for me.

Also my taskbar was replaced by their battery status. Need to find a way to disable that.

Note again that this is on my Elfin. I will be installing when my D2 comes in.

Could somebody try it out and give feedback on thier D2?


EDIT ON MY COMPLAINTS
I disabled quickmenu's battery status and went to settings/system/taskmanager and re-enabled TaskMan in start menu. So an easy fix.

Elfin is the original GSM Touch from HTC.

I now have my TD2.

There were like 2 registry hacks I did to get rid of the HTC start and get the old WM start menue bu I forgot them sadly.

Will post if I remember or try again.

I just disable large start menu programs but.. I want to see the programs bar and I can't see the programs bar ..how to make that in topaz ? I want a cab file or something.. thanks
