This ROM contains the new Manila2 from HTC Rhodium, ported by Xboxmod and his great crew! This ROM has a few more tools from HTC Topaz and Rhodium, but the new Manila2 is still a Beta!!!

Personal known bugs:
- New Manila Start menu can't be used
Solution: install ManilaStartmenu.cab
- Start menu is opening itself while launching an app from programs tab
- Programs tab isn't responding while adding new programs
Solution: restart Manila
- HTC YouTube isn't working, says "Certificate error"
Solution: no one yet, will post a fix when I found one

A hardreset after flashing is highly recommened!

Ich verwende die Version 1.7 und bin sehr begeistert. Allerdings habe ich 2/3 Probleme bemerkt:

- Kontakte können nicht bearbeitet werden (Screen verdunkelt)
- Bilder können nicht zugeschnitten werden beim Zuweisen des Kontaktes
- Menupunkt zum updaten der Facebookdaten ist nicht vorhanden

Wünschenswert wäre die Integration vom Facebook-Upload von Fotos aus dem Album... wäre das möglich?

Running into trouble (error 262) while upgrading to radio 1.11.25.1 atm (using 1.30 OliNex HardSPL). Can't wait to try your rom once this is solved!

Sorry, I couldn't find any info about V1D in your description and the screenshots - so I assumed you chose to stick with V1C...

Just flashed your 2.1 ROM and have a few points I stumbled upon.

nope - this is really not what V1D is supposed to be:
- The programs tab has the very annoying start-menu popup "feature"
- The programs tab exists (it's not supposed to be there in V1D)
- The programs tab does not replace the start menu (as expected from V1D)
- It's missing the HTC Rhodium Album application (by choice? - no requirement though I guess - I don't understand why this thing takes 13MB anyway - that's somewhat insane really)

Apart from that I found various SIP problems:
- In full qwertz I couldn't switch from enabled T9 to disabled T9 (the button had no effect)
- I switched away from full qwertz to compact qwertz - now I can't switch back - I have compact qwertz working nicecly for the moment though - so I'll probably keep the ROM for testing for a couple of days... but a working SIP is kind of a requirement for me ;-)

And then I experienced a problem with the new notification application: part of the notification was invisible since it was hidden south outside the screen. This can easily be fixed by using the HTC notification CAB from the original V1D package as far as I can tell.

NONE of this happened with v1.7 with V1D installed afterwards. Everything worked nicely there - including the new start menu.

On the positive side (after all it's a VERY promising ROM) I have:
- This thing is blazing FAST - the boot time is simply astonishing
- It is really really feature packed
- It has plenty of free space
- Facebook integration from V1D (*nice*)

All in all this ROM is again pretty close to perfect work and I'll try to get things working as expected and report my progress if you're interested.

Okay, I tried flashing it again - and here's some more info:

the original V1D notification CAB is no good as well - part of the notification is outside of the screen.

T9 switching in full qwertz now magically works - or doesn't - sometimes :-)

Installing the Rhodium Album didn't work out nicely for me: the softkeys for choosing the folder were missing. So I guess keeping the WiMo album application as fallback is a good choice right now...

One more thing (I hope the last for today...):

The missing keyboard-popup bug still happens - kind of annoying when you want to type german umlauts. Funny: keeping the key pressed and then moving your finger actually gets you the special characters - but you can't see which one you are picking since the popup is missing.

Ah - and gyrator is missing? Can't find it in the settings menu - and the Manila G-Sensor option doesn't work as well?

I got the new start menu working by installing the (and only the) 3-XBmod_VGA_Rhodium_Manila FIX V1D.cab from the V1D package. Of couse I now have lots of redundant stuff in my Windows directory since most V1D stuff is already integrated in the ROM, but maybe I find the time to check out what's different to make the new start menu work anytime soon.

i noticed two issues:

1. did anyone else noticed that the contact-screen's sms-tab only shows the first three rows of a message?kind of annoying as there's no way to read longer messages :-/

2. changing a contact's picture isn't possible neither in tflo3d nor in the new "edit contact"-screen: in tflo3d the standard picture-chooser opens but when you pick a photograph it's not being used afterwards. in the "edit contact"- screen htc album doesn't open when you click on it.

apart from that: thumbs up!

AlexErm, no! Gyrator is present in Windows folder, you can easily install it afterwards! Many users doesn't want tools like Gyrator, so I desided to exclude it from the AutoRun execution! And switching back to the Diamond Album was neccessary in my opinion, since the Auto rotation feature in combination with the G-Sensor was removed in Album v3 and up!
And another thing: I've integrated the SensorSDK3.3 rather than the SensorSDK4! With SensorSDK4 I've got more problems than it might be usefull!

i just wanted to state that installing manila (and album) over an already existing one shouldn't be considered an elegant solution:)

major issues are the keyboard (popups and missing possibility to reselect full qwertz) and the few manila issues.especially that you can only read three lines of a message.but seems to be in normal v1d,too though.

really looking forward to a bugfixed version.can you replace the phone canvas with the standard white one?or at least its background?doesn't look that good IMHO.

Great rom, but when I have the music tab selected and want to use the right softkey saying "Menü" there is no menu coming up, so no way to set playback mode to shuffle (except make a change in the registry)

And I'd like to see the default dialer in the next version, too :)!

I'm not entirely sure, but I think I remember reading there's works going on for a new dialer required by the new manila? I'm no expert there though...

I'm using 2.1 for a couple of days now and must say that other than those little issues it's by far the best ROM I ever had on my diamond! kudos on a great ROM (again)!

I've just installed you rom and really like it so far.
Since I wanna use Finger Keyboard, I installed SIPchange to make FK my default SIP, but whenever I do a soft reset I get the info "Die Datei "sipchange" kann nicht geöffnet werden. Sie ist entweder nicht mit einem vertrauenswürdigen Zertifikat..." bla, bla bla...

I've never had this problem before. Now my question is:
Can you help me with this? Might this be simply some reg-entry I have to change?
Or should I ask the ppl of Finger Keyboard or SIPchange?

I installed V2.0 that worked fine and meets exaclty my needs. Very very nice work.

Updated this morning to V2.1. becouse I missed the program tab in V2.0. Device starts vibrating and never stopps even with the recomended radio installed separatly. I installed about 5 times. My Hard SPL is 1.93 OliNex.

No 3G or HSDPA... only EDGE available.
The Option to choose the frequency band is missing.

I am using 2.1 - and I don't have any problem using 3G whatsoever. I don't remember if I disabled it myself (I usually use EDGE only) or if it's disabled by default - but enabling 3G in CommManager immediately got me UMTS...

For reference:
DAIM 300
ROM 2.06 anime GER (23.04.2009)
RADIO 1.11.25.01
SPL: OliNex 1.40 unsigned

at first i didn't have the 3G switch in the comm manager.

i looked into advanced config software under "menu->more settings->comm manager" and there i activated the 3G button.

now it works and i can use this cool and fast rom.

I've been using this rom for a few days now and it's really good. Fast and stable.

Seems to be a problem with some Manila-Scripts inside the Manila-files! I don't know if there's a solution but until someone finds out a solution you must live with it or not by deactivating the programs tab!

Is it possible you can't add a contact at all without specifying a birthday in the new manila contacts tab? When I create a new contact and leave the birthday/anniversary fields untouched I only get a message "mm/dd/yyyy" without being able to save the contact...

i updated my phone from the last version of this rom to the current. now the top- and bottombars of the menus to scroll down and up in the menus look very ugly, like there is missing a picture or so...

i thought it could be a problem updating from the last version to the current, so i flashed an original htc rom and after that the current clean black again. same problem :(

anyone with similar problems or a fix for that?!?

habn problem: nachm flashen bleibt das telefon beim boot-screen hängen und zeigt nur die versionen an. soft- sowie hard-reset haben nichts genützt.

Hatte das gleiche Problem. Nach wiederholtem hard-reset hat es geklappt. Das erste Mal booten dauert auch etwas länger. Geduld... :)
Allerdings ist dies ein englisches Forum, also bitte nicht auf deutsch posten.


EDIT: chrischtea said his phone doesn't boot with the latest version. Even after hard-reset. Told him to try a hard-reset again and that it sometimes takes a while to boot for the first time.

There are some little bugs, but not mentionable.
I've got one Problem with every 2.xx ROM, I'm not able to install TomTom 7.910. Does anyone have a clue to get this working?
And I'm missing the integratet rotate funktion, which rotates the screen when you rotate the mobile phone.

You have to install Radio ROM 1.11.25.01 first before upgrading to this rom

Take a look into the Windows folder! You'll find a CAB called Gyrator there and after installing + Softreset, the screen is fliiped automatically if you tilt your device! ;)
I've excluded it from Autorun because not everybody likes this feature!

What HardSPL are you using? Some users reported that it's working with HardSPL 1.40 OliNex!

Did you enter the right connection settings from your Provider? There is no autconfiguration after the first start.

I changed a DLL in the ROM! PLease flash it again and test whatever Radio you want! The 1.11.25.01 isn't necessary any longer! :)
And there's a HTC PhonePad v1.0 VGA floating around the web, try to search for it please!

It might be the radio, I didn't test the radio with my old rom...

and a red fullschreen background if i try to change the manila background image twice.

I can confirm this.

I had another big Problem. Yesterday I wanted to restart my Diamond.
It stucked at the bootloader, where the version codes are shown in red.
I had no chance to get it working again.
I had to hardreset my device and hat to set all my settings again. Now it's running again.

So, I wanted to do a backup in the case of it happens again.
I used SPB-backup which rebootet my device after creating the backup. But it wasn't just a reboot, it looked like a mixture of a hard and a soft-reset.
Some settings were set back, some stayed.

After this I executed my Backupfile and restored it. Now it's fine again...

puhhh... that was a lot of work!

I have one problem. The german layout of the Finger Keyboard have no numberbers on the normal keyboard (yes i know: shift -> and then the "de" key). So i've made a new layout. Now my question: How can i add the new Layout to the keyboard or how can i remove the Finger Keyboard from the system?

Install Advance Config, and than chose Telefon, now you're able to switch the band. Under settings->telephone->band select Auto in both entries. Now the "H" for HSDPA should be visible.

Tried your solution, but didn't get the possiblity to chose band.

Install Advance Config, and than chose Telefon, now you're able to switch the band. Under settings->telephone->band select Auto in both entries. Now the "H" for HSDPA should be visible.

Tried your solution, but didn't get the possiblity to chose band.

Worked for me... With Advance Config Tool 3.3 ZIP-Version (the cab won't install)

After i recovered my backup, I did the steps again, but didn't restart when asked.
Now i can go to the Band tab in Telephone and choose Auto. The H is back again.

Then I did the reastart. Now there was a normal soft-reset

There is no 3G button in the connection manager, and under the settings I checked that HDSPA is activated. any other idea. Anything to do with the installed radio??

another prob which came up for me is, as soon i pres the clock on the home tab, the timezone switches to westafrika and they have no daylight savingtime. i can select berlin rome but it resets all the time back to westafrika
The changing timezone is a known bug and will be only fixed in the next official version by Xboxmod! The only one solution is to use the known work arounds here on XDA Dev! :(


Hi firstly a big "Daumenhoch" ;) for you. A very good Rom.

I have one problem. The german layout of the Finger Keyboard have no numberbers on the normal keyboard (yes i know: shift -> and then the "de" key). So i've made a new layout. Now my question: How can i add the new Layout to the keyboard or how can i remove the Finger Keyboard from the system?

No, you can't remove FingerKeyboard from this ROM but I will release the next version in two variants: one with FingerKeyboard and another one with HTC EzInput 2.0! Hopefully I can prevent a clash on which SIP is better! ;)

Two other issues:
1. no UMTS/G3 only Edge, no matter what settings are choosen.
2. If I add a new shourtcut in "Programme" i can't see the slider anymore, I have to restart touchflo

You can change your band though the CommManager! Simply press the large button of Phone and the band settings wizard will apear! It's a new feature of Topaz/Rhodium CommManager! ;)

My first Problem, that i cant see the Pictures in MMS Messages is fixed himself. Now all works fine. Some other things, that I found

- Callername isnt showed. (already posted before)
- Since last day, if I want to open an SMS Message from Manila, it is restarting. I dont know why. I installed serval applications, like Facebook, Twitter, and added this applications to the Application-Shortcutbar... could this be the Problem?

In case the screen rotation doesn't work:
Try the Jmz Diamond2 G-Sensor.cab which you can find here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=486069) in the first post.

For me it worked. I think you have to soft reset after installing...

I had very big Problems with Version 3.0

Everytime I did a softreset, my phone did a hardreset.
But this wasn't a real hardreset.

Just one problem bugs me: It seems to be unpossible to select/mark any text in textboxes etc.
Simply open the notepad, type in some chars and try to select them using press-hold-drag with the pen... does not work.

You can get the cab (also in german) if you surf to m.google.com/youtube using the Internet Explorer mobile (and only the mobile IE works).

1. If you try to edit a contact within the manila interface, the dialog looks pretty distored (seems like some additional ressource strings are displayed that should not be there). The standard contact edit from the "Programme/Kontakte" application works nice though.

2. The cool Voice Tag ("Stimmkennzeichen") feature seems to be missing. In the orginal Diamond ROM you could record a sound file with the name of a contact. If you then pressed button 1 long on the manila main screen and spoke the name, it was called. At least all the menu items are missing for this feature. Is this by design, or am I blind? ;-)

3. Just a question: I just tried some radio ROMs (the official 1.11. seems to be by far the best with Your ROM so far (E-Plus/Germany), high battery life, good reception, fast an accurate GPS), but these ROMs seem to be dependend on the rilphone.dll in the ROM. What version of the rilphone.dll do You cook? An official one or one of the updated?

The SMS Crashing Bug will be solved in the next ROM! I'm currently testing a lot of new things and I'm planning to release it soon! But it seems the CallerID bug is still there! :(

I don't really know what's the reason for it or why it happened! Some people here on XDA said it might be a provider related issue! :confused:

I found another problem with the TF3D version of clock settings though. The time zone seems to change by itself. from "+1 Berlin, Rome..." e.g. "+1 GMT" which is one hour off (I guess because of daylight savings in germany).
Using the windows standard applets for time only it works though.
Again, great ROM, keep on going...

Picture rotation in the HTC view is not right, it flips the picture upsidedown when i hold the phone landscape style.

The Landscape view is great though, but when you hold the phone in left handed landscape and you open a picture it opens it in right handed landscape.

After using it with memory intensive programs i'm at 71%. Which is great for WM6.5 with TF3D2!

Another bug: The big browser button on the TF3D internet tab does not work. I also installed the latest official Opera browser, no effect. I'd expect the default browser to be started.

If you want the oldstyle start menu (and settings), simply siable the Manila Start Menu:

And if you're activating the settings tab, you can hit "Mehr" and you will be redirected to the classical settings menu of Windows Mobile!

The TouchFLO3D Panel unfortunately did not have an option to disable the keyboard vibration though. :(
But I found the setting now in the registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>Software>OEM>TFLOSettings>ApVibrationOn

Another bug by the way: if you press-and-hold the hard button "pick up phone" on the home screen an error length message is shown. Guess some default problem should have been started (if not the acoustic dialer).
