How To Unlock Your Phone
And Flash A Custom Rom
And Relock Your Vogue

(Following was written by: Detroit_Doug)

First go here (http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=20370) and
READ the hell outta it until you have it step by step.
(BTW use the 2.31 unlocker regardless about the GPS thing)

OK, now that you've read that (happy dance time)
Download the 2.31 Unlocker and NFSFANs WinMO 6.5 ROM.

And make sure to download one of the DCD Carrier cabs here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=3680840#post3680840)
and copy it to your SD card as you may need this after the flashing is done.
(will get back to this tasty morsel later)

OK, now you have an Unlocker and a ROM - now what, hmmmm
Use WinRAR and extract both the files into separate folders,
Press and hold the Power button+Camera Button and Stylus in the reset hole
until the 3 color screen comes up and it says serial,
now plug in your cable and it should change to USB.

Can you taste the rainbow and it is over the land of USB??
Great, now go into the Unlocker folder you created
and doubleclick on the RomUpdateUtility.exe
(going to be called RUU.exe from this point on).

Follow the steps on the desktop monitor.
(You might get some errors about sleep4.exe - dont worry about it)
Just keep hitting enter and it will go away after the 4th or so time.
At some point the program is going to tell you to disconnect the phone,
sounds scary doesn't it, losing the connection and all - dont be,
be a brave little soldier and disconnect it and count to 10,
cant do that, get some help in getting there,
its really that important LOL once you (or your friend)
gets to 10 plug it back in, does it say USB again? good!!
happy dance AFTER you hit a key on the keyboard per the on screen directions.

It's going to eventually reboot, let it and it will be unlocked,
let it start up and do its thing, when its done - go ahead and go back into bootloader mode again
(remember power+camera+stylus twister move you did earlier, its back to that again)
with the cable disconnected and it had better say SERIAL again..
now go ahead and plug in the cable and it should change to USB.

Now go into the ROM folder and double click the RUU.exe here ...
and follow the directions that come up on the screen...

Once its done and the phone reboots, wait...
wait some more..
still keep waiting..
no not yet ...
stop touching it..
it wont help pacing..
just be patient...
oh look an Orange screen,
ok here comes some fun.

Follow the drections to go through the setup,
don't worry about it being too accurate and all as it is about to be erased anyway...
let the autorun happen once windows starts and it will reboot on its own again.
- Yes it really IS a smartphone isn't it. LOL -

OK, as it is booting up again when there is a black screen
- press and hold the red button+green button+stylus in reset hole (known as a Hard reset)
until the screen turns gray - follow the directions again
(save you some time "press the Enter key" thats the big silver button in the center of the buttons LOL)
and when the progress bar moves all the way to the right, press the call key (the green one).

Again, it will restart (told you it was smart) and now go ahead and do the setup
and customizations and do them right this time as your hanging onto them this time
(sounds weird but if you dont hard reset after flashing it,
flying monkeys will swoop in and take your phone and your little dog toto too)

OK, now remember that DCD Carrier Cab, you do, fantastic ..
so to the storage card where you copied it to - you didn't forget that step did you???
good I knew my faith in you would pay off, tap on it and run it.
It will install all the Carrier goodies to make your life easy,
and your sex life better and even improve that certain area of a ..
wait sorry wrong channel again....
just go ahead and tap it, run it and reboot.


**Note from Codybear**
I personally go through the RUU.EXE flash process 2-3 times each time I flash a new rom.
I flash it, and then let customizations run,
and then flash again, let customization run again,
then you guessed it, flash again and customizations run once again.
It's a tad bit lengthy, but due to this process,
I usually don't have any problems that most people do with any roms.
Not sure why it makes a difference, but it does.


**Important**
As pointed out to me by Aaronpoweruser,
I forgot to mention that before flashing this rom,
upgrade your radio to a 3.xx.xx version!!
(It doesn't need to be the latest and greatest version available)

Note on Radio Upgrading By Doug:
"An upgrade is not needed - it can help depending on your carrier,
but its based on a carrier by carrier exceptions.
I'm on Sprint with the 3.42.30 radio with no issues whatsoever
where upgrading to 3.42.50 on some carriers can create problems."

To Get Back To Your Original (Stock) Rom:
It is quite simple.
All you do is go to the htc.com website,
click support,
Click dropdown menu to find your device,
in my case it's: HTC Touch™ (Alltel)
Then click download for the rom upgrade.
and then run the ruu.exe just like you did with the custom rom.

To Flash From MicroSd Card:

Yes it has to be 2GB or less and formatted FAT32
I always find my original 512MB works perfect for flashing from

as to how to get it to your card...

Extract the ROM you want to use
Find the largest *.NBH file and copy it to your desktop
at the desktop rename it to VOGUIMG.NBH (I believe the caps in naming is important)
Copy that file to the root of your formatted FAT32 2GB or less SD Card
enter bootloader mode and it should go from there.

HOW TO FOR VZW USERS

GPS
1. This is assuming you have already done the agps hack
2. Dial *228 and choose option 1
3. Soft reset the phone
4. Open your favorite gps app and you should have a lock within 30 seconds.
(if that does not work make sure
you have location on in the phone settings.
Also make sure that under gps settings you have
the baud rate set to 4800 and the com port set to 4)
If it still does not work check the following reg settings
[HKLM\Software\HTC\SUPL GPS]
\EnableAGPS = 1
\EnableSmartMode = 1
\GPSMode = 4 (should also work as 2)
\NumberFixes = 999999999
\QoSAccuracy = 50
\QoSPerformance = 89
\ServerIP = 195.207.101.126
\ServerPort = 7788
\timeBetweenFixes = 1

MMS
1. Go to connection settings and select "Manage existing connections"
2. edit the only connection there
3. Name it whatever you want ie "vzw"
4. hit next and enter #777 as the number
5. hit next and put "your10digitnumber@vzw3g.com"
and "vzw" as the password
6. hit finish
7. install the attached arcsoft cab
8. do a soft reset.
9. open phmregedit in the start menu
10. navigate to HKLM\Software\Arcsoft\ArcsoftMMS UA\Config\mm1\WspHeader\X-VzW-MDN
and put your 10 digit phone number for the value
11. wait a min or two and do a soft reset
12. go into messaging select menu and then mms options
13. select the server tab
14. select verizon wireless and change connect via to "the internet",
the other settings should be correct.
15. wait a few min and perform a soft reset once more
16. now mms should work!!!

Titanium Weather step by step fix for NFSFANs V10 ROM (Stock Weather Panel)
(This has been reported to work with other versions of Nfsfan's roms,
and some other versions of Weather panel.
No harm to try, you can always reinstall the original panel again.)

- Download the file as offered HERE (http://rapidshare.com/files/244239546/TitaniumWeatherFIXED-for_NFSFAN_S_WM6.5_V10.zip)
- Extract the zip file to desktop
- Copy the TitaniumWeather.mscr file to your phone (storage card or where ever)
- Click on Start Go into settings>today and under the 2nd tab (ITEMS) disable "Windows Default" (6.5 Interface AKA CHome)
- Use Total Commander to copy from location you saved the file to to the root of \Windows - overwrite if needed or if you are having issues coping it over rename the original file(TitaniumWeather.mscr) to titaniumweather.bak and then copy it over
- Go to settings>today and enable Windows Default (6.5 Interface)
- Go to Weather Tab and in lower right click on Setup
- Select 2nd option (Run full update and exit)
- Wait for full update to occur and scroll through pages all icons should have appeared again (although I had to run the full update twice)
May need to start IE or Opera or whatever browser you use to gain an internet connection first to perform update if you already dont have the option to "connect to the internet automatically" set in your options before attempting the update

(Thanks to 4Thought for this) If your in Canada or other locations just enter in your location code directly in this format: NAM|**|**|****** replacing the * with your location in the SETUP options (Setup>Option 3 (Forcast options/setup) > Option 1 (Zip or Location Code)
an example would be NAM|CA|ON|OSHAWA for Oshawa Canada or NAM|CA|AB|EDMONTON for Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

Or if that doesn't work,

Download this file,
Turn Off Titanium (Start>Settings>Today, click Items tab, Uncheck Windows Default, press ok)
Copy file to Windows directory, overwrite if asked.
Turn On Titanium(same steps, just re-check Windows Default)
Then you're good to go.

It will install the files in the right place,
but you will need to go to
windows\program files\taskanium
and click on
"TaskaniumInstall.lnk"
Then soft reset or you will only see Add New Task.

To turn panels on and off, go to: Start > System > Titanium Customizer and highlight the tab you want to disable, and click "disable" on the right hand side.You can also enable tabs that you have disabled by highlighting the name, and clicking "enable." Also, you can reorder the tabs using this program.

"I'm having a problem when i set up active sync to my work exchange server. they require that i have 4 digit pin to unlock the phone. when the phone starts it looks like it is trying to go to the keypad to unlock but only the top bar shows up, the rest of the screen is blank. the only extra thing i install was the touch pal keyboard.

Common fix: "Try not setting up the PIN. Many people have reported problems using a PIN with the new lock screen."
His fix: "It's required by my company in order to set up active sync.
If anyone else is having this issue switching to classic [display] seems to have fixed all the issues.
kind of looks ugly but it works."

Turn GPS On:
(6.1 and 6.5 Compatible)
Go to Start>Settings>Personal>Phone
Click services tab, make sure location setting is highlighted,
click get settings, Check on, press ok.
For google maps,
you'll need to have it open of course,
then go to menu, click use gps.
(it should have a check mark next to option when it's turned on)


NFSFAN Dialers

NFSFAN has 2 different ROM’s available for our Vogues.
1. Windows Mobile 6.1
2. Windows Mobile 6.5

Both of these ROMS use different dialers, these are listed below:

1. WM 6.1 ROMS GSM Dialer

This dialer is one of the newer ones available.
It features slide to anwser/ignore and other features.
To go into this dialer first I have to list the issues
with GSM dialers on CDMA phones.

• 911 and number codes usually do not work
• Data sessions. In most gsm dialers the data is always active. This causes quite a battery drain

NFSFAN has managed to fix these problems to an extent.
911 works, phone codes cannot be directly dialed but are
found in a folder under systems.
The data is NOT always active,
however the data arrows are “broken” or greyed out.

2. WM 6.5 CDMA Dialer

This is basically the same as the stock dialer that came with your phone.
It may not be “as pretty” as the gsm dialer,
but everything works just like stock.
This is the reason that you will no longer find the
phone codes folder in the 6.5 ROM as there is no need for it.

It is possible to skin a dialer and add colour etc.
This changes the appearance of the dialer
without actually installing a different dialer.
Some people have installed newer dialers in the 6.5 ROM as well.
Just remember the issues with gsm when you do.
You may find your battery depletes quickly (data issue)
or 911 doesn’t work (BAD if you figure that out when you need it!!)

Phone codes Walkthrough

• ##778 = ..\Windows\EPST.exe ##778

View/edit phone provisioning (you'll need your phone specific MSL to edit)

Always keep a record of your phone's ESN, MSID, Security, EPST, and M. IP settings in case a flash reprograms your phone.

Run the EPST utility by:

1. Typing ##778 into the dialer Or from the ..\Windows directory you can also directly execute EPST.exe or EPST.lnk
2. If EPST.exe quickly loads and exits, then try a few more times before resetting your phone and trying again.
3. Select VIEW and then record your info. On most versions, the A-Key is blank and will not be displayed. If your phone fails to authenicate with your provider, you will need to call your providers technical support line to get a new A-key. The A-key is not reuseable.

To edit your EPST if you have lost security and data connections:
NOTE: The Verizon MSL is 000000 (six zeros) - you don't need to run getspl.exe for a Verizon phone, skip to step 6.

1. First follow these steps to obtain your phone's MSL unlocking code
2. Obtain getspl.exe
3. execute that on your Titan
4. Type in your ESN(Hex) into the input field
5. Hit go and record your phone's MSL Number (EPST unlock code)
6. Re-run the EPST app and now select Edit and unlock with your MSLNumber
7. Edit the necessary keys
8. Select Done when finished

Field Trial shows your signal strength in dbm and channel info

What the numbers mean:

Signal strength is a number ranging from roughly -50 to -105 (your phone may show as a positive number). Closer to zero means a better signal, i.e. -
50 (roughly full signal) to -105 (roughly no signal.)

Enable or Disable Fast UART mode. Resets device after choosing.

A UART is a serial to parallel data converter. I would assume the Vogue uses this mode for serial connections to a PC (USB ect). Because HTC uses this connector for headphones etc it may also affect these.

For Sprint, there's an extra # at the end instead of pressing Send. (ex. ##778#)

DO NOT affect the phone in any way.
It is just a placebo affect.

There are already some out that are showing alot of potential.
I'm personally going to work on some titanium ones here in the near future.
But have a few other things I want to do before I play with titanium.

Edit:
i have a bunch of themes but have to edit the titanium cpr info within the cabs,
they overwrite the existing cpr's and it erases certain panels.

Connect to a PC (perhaps even the one your asking the question from) and copy it to a folder on your device (say, maybe \my documents\cabs - yes you may have to create the "cabs" folder yourself) and run it

Or if you have opera or skyfire on your phone, connect to XDA-Developers browse to this folder and save onto your phone

I built my rom in the kitchen with the weather cab already in. Then installed the opera 6.5 cab, followed by the fix and a soft reset.

Then copied your two .cpr files to \windows and over wrote the files and went into the customizer to make sure the fav ppl was enabled.

I built my rom in the kitchen with the weather cab already in. Then installed the opera 6.5 cab, followed by the fix and a soft reset.

Then copied your two .cpr files to \windows and over wrote the files and went into the customizer to make sure the fav ppl was enabled.

That's because that's only the cpr info.
It does not have the fav people doesn't show up,
it does not have the other necessary files that we already do in nfsfan's rom.
I will be trying to get that up and running soon though,
but I cannot be on the computer more than another 5 minutes
because my parent's decided to put my niece's crib in the computer room and it's her bedtime in five minutes. :/
It's putting me a whole day behind and it's really pissing me off.
I have a BUNCH of things I wanted to do tonight.

I know which keyboard you're talking about. Its the original small keyboard, but with black 3D texture keys instead of the standard white block keys. Try this:

INSTALLATION:
1. Copy it to your WM phone
2. install the CAB to your device memory
3. soft reset, and... voila ..your done

I am trying to get the GPS setting for MetroPCS to work, but haven't been successful yet. Will let you know the proper settings once I am.

I got my working on Metro with the following settings by editing gps1 with qpst:
Server IP Address = 198.17.1.0
Server Port Number = 3425
PDE Transport = IP
Position Calcultation = Mobile

You will also need to change the registry keys to match the above info:
Server IP Address = 198.17.1.0
Server Port Number = 3425

I get locks in 40 sec or less.

Actually I think I've gotten it figured out. I'll test it out tomorrow myself.

For some reason, I can drop the Calibri.ttf into the \windows folder and have it been detected, but by standard, they must go into the \windows\fonts folder. Since Calibri worked, I guess I just tried to walk through the same steps but failed.

Hmmmm. Not exactly sure,
I haven't really played with the font setting yet.
I'll put that on my to do list for this weekend. ;)

It doesn't matter from whom you are receiving your phone from, just who you are using for service

The ROM is a generic ROM originally, it may, MAY just work right off for you without the need for setup, configs or any extras but your best bet BEFORE you flash is to do a forum search here on XDA as well as over on PPCGeeks for your service provider first and see what issues custom ROMs have had on that one or what settings, files and other things may need to be done after flashing and have those files downloaded and saved to your SD card to facilitate setting the phone up after flashing

How To Unlock Your Phone
And Flash A Custom Rom

First go here (http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=20370) and
READ the hell outta it until you have it step by step.
(BTW use the 2.31 unlocker regardless about the GPS thing)

OK, now that you've read that (happy dance time)
Download the 2.31 Unlocker and NFSFANs WinMO 6.5 ROM.

And make sure to download one of the DCD Carrier cabs here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=3680840#post3680840)
and copy it to your SD card as you may need this after the flashing is done.
(will get back to this tasty morsel later)

OK, now you have an Unlocker and a ROM - now what, hmmmm
Use WinRAR and extract both the files into separate folders,
Press and hold the Power button+Camera Button and Stylus in the reset hole
until the 3 color screen comes up and it says serial,
now plug in your cable and it should change to USB.

Can you taste the rainbow and it is over the land of USB??
Great, now go into the Unlocker folder you created
and doubleclick on the RomUpdateUtility.exe
(going to be called RUU.exe from this point on).

Follow the steps on the desktop monitor.
(You might get some errors about sleep4.exe - dont worry about it)
Just keep hitting enter and it will go away after the 4th or so time.
At some point the program is going to tell you to disconnect the phone,
sounds scary doesn't it, losing the connection and all - dont be,
be a brave little soldier and disconnect it and count to 10,
cant do that, get some help in getting there,
its really that important LOL once you (or your friend)
gets to 10 plug it back in, does it say USB again? good!!
happy dance AFTER you hit a key on the keyboard per the on screen directions.

It's going to eventually reboot, let it and it will be unlocked,
let it start up and do its thing, when its done - go ahead and go back into bootloader mode again
(remember power+camera+stylus twister move you did earlier, its back to that again)
with the cable disconnected and it had better say SERIAL again..
now go ahead and plug in the cable and it should change to USB.

Now go into the ROM folder and double click the RUU.exe here ...
and follow the directions that come up on the screen...

Once its done and the phone reboots, wait...
wait some more..
still keep waiting..
no not yet ...
stop touching it..
it wont help pacing..
just be patient...
oh look an Orange screen,
ok here comes some fun.

Follow the drections to go through the setup,
don't worry about it being too accurate and all as it is about to be erased anyway...
let the autorun happen once windows starts and it will reboot on its own again.
- Yes it really IS a smartphone isn't it. LOL -

OK, as it is booting up again when there is a black screen
- press and hold the red button+green button+stylus in reset hole (known as a Hard reset)
until the screen turns gray - follow the directions again
(save you some time "press the Enter key" thats the big silver button in the center of the buttons LOL)
and when the progress bar moves all the way to the right, press the call key (the green one).

Again, it will restart (told you it was smart) and now go ahead and do the setup
and customizations and do them right this time as your hanging onto them this time
(sounds weird but if you dont hard reset after flashing it,
flying monkeys will swoop in and take your phone and your little dog toto too)

OK, now remember that DCD Carrier Cab, you do, fantastic ..
so to the storage card where you copied it to - you didn't forget that step did you???
good I knew my faith in you would pay off, tap on it and run it.
It will install all the Carrier goodies to make your life easy,
and your sex life better and even improve that certain area of a ..
wait sorry wrong channel again....
just go ahead and tap it, run it and reboot.

I personally go through the RUU.EXE flash process 2-3 times each time I flash a new rom.
I flash it, and then let customizations run,
and then flash again, let customization run again,
then you guessed it, flash again and customizations run once again.
It's a tad bit lengthy, but due to this process,
I usually don't have any problems that most people do with any roms.
Not sure why it makes a difference, but it does.
remember to tell people to upgrade there radio to a 3.xx version

If your on Verizon, its a Verizon thing - read up alot of verizon users are using the ROMs from NFSFAN without calling

Sounds good, when and if I get a chance I can try and get more data regarding radio compatibilities probably when I get back to Las Vegas this weekend though as using my phone and this laptop is a bit - aggravating LOL

and seriously, if your going to give a negative, at least give a reason and let someone be able to fix it rather than just dump a neg a run LOL

yea put 3.xxx cause i was on a 2.xx rom and it wouldnt go past the second splash screen so u could have saved me a hour but luck me my memory final decided to work cause i had to on my mogul

MMS not working after following instructions, followed to the letter.

I get a "Delivery Conformation failed" or "Delivery Notification failed"

MMS
1. Go to connection settings and select "Manage existing connections"
2. edit the only connection there
3. Name it whatever you want ie "vzw"
4. hit next and enter #777 as the number
5. hit next and put "your10digitnumber@vzw3g.com"
and "vzw" as the password
6. hit finish
7. install the attached arcsoft cab
8. do a soft reset.
9. open phmregedit in the start menu
10. navigate to HKLM\Software\Arcsoft\ArcsoftMMS UA\Config\mm1\WspHeader\X-VzW-MDN
and put your 10 digit phone number for the value
11. wait a min or two and do a soft reset
12. go into messaging select menu and then mms options
13. select the server tab
14. select verizon wireless and change connect via to "the internet",
the other settings should be correct.
15. wait a few min and perform a soft reset once more
16. now mms should work!!!

Now NFSFAN offers these instrustions:
* Install the cab provided in the link below, then after install go into the Connections,
and delete everything there. After that is done, open Advanced
Config, press Menu, and press "Import provisioning XML".
Search for mxipupdate_oemoperators_102.provxml, and import it. Soft-reset, and MMS
should work.

i go to Settings > Connections > Connections.....
What am I to delete?
i can certainly import the oemoperators102, but O would like to follow the instruction as written.

i believe my isp is doing this... which sucks... ive been able to download 1 file and have been trying to get titanium tweaks and some of the program .cabs for the last couple days....

today i tryed it and was able to get the tweak to put the opera fav's in the home menu but the rest was to no avail... im gonna keep trying tho :)

Data connection: I usually just leave mine on in the background, but you can just go to pocket ie or opera or something like that, and start that program up, and then it'll start up a internet connection, and you can just close out of the web browser(PIE, Opera, etc) and the data connection should still be there.

I've heard only one person have a problem with dictionary editor, I haven't tried it out yet, but will in the near future and if it doesn't work I'm sure I can find a bunch of more ways to edit the dictionary.

Galarm: I've never used the tilt support, but I believe that is for the g-sensored enabled phones. the htc touch(xv6900, vogue, etc) is older and does not have the g-sensor.
There's someone working on a driver to use the camera as a g-sensor imitator, but from what I've read it is not ready for for anything other than testing for brief moments as it is still in very very very early beta stages.
Meaning it's no where near ready for everyday use.

i can't get my texts to work at all in the 6.5 rom. i can receive them but i can't open or reply at all. i installed the carrier cab and the mms cab for sprint to no avail. my phone works & so does the internet. is there a fix for this? if not ill have to flash another rom this weekend.

are you using a third party texting program(not the stock texting program?).
Is it sms or mms that's the problem?

no third party apps are being used. i just can't open my text messages ( not picture mail ) or send any of them, the window won't even open, it does nothing. i just flashed this rom last weekend and i just noticed the problem today. :(

A lot of issues can be fixed with a hard reset. There has to have been a registry change somewhere with an installed program. Try backing up your contacts using PIM backup, then hard reset. Reload your contacts and go from there.

For those of you that are running Manila 2D and want to get rid of the green highlight in your Task Manager so that it matches your theme, you'll have to do it through registry edits. Here are the keys that you'll have to put in. I'll enclose a link to a hex chart so that you'll be able to input your own values.

You must remember to put the values in backwards!!! Don't ask me why, its just the way Manila 2D reads them.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Taskmanager
New DWORD: ManilaCustomHlUp = FF Hex
New DWORD: ManilaCustomHlDown = 33 Hex

Those values are for my Audi Theme. You have to play with the two to get the correct shading if you want a 3D effect. If not, just keep both values the same. The hex chart can be found here (http://johncfish.com/bggallery/otherchart/hextable.gif). Soft reset after each change to see the effects.

Woops, yeah, it is only vga, wvga compatible right now.
I thought I read someone with qvga got it working, but I guess not. :/
I'm trying to help him out with his development to make it qvga compatible,
I might actually start adjusting the cpr info myself right now. ;)

and thenf lashed to this one and hard reset,like said.
however. the rom did not remove the hideous bell blue screen when booting.

yes, but I don't have the energy to type the process.
I searched for "change splash screen windows mobile" and hundreds of walkthroughs showed up.
but if you want, you can try this program,
you can have it randomly select an image, or select an option(shown in screen shot on that page), it'll keep that image for every startup.

1.-Never had this problem.
It is streaming video, and video does tend to take a little more data than other data.
2-I agree. I don't use the youtube app, I use skyfire mobile browser for youtube.
I haven't used a stock version though.

3-I've been given that stuff by USCC people,
they keep telling me it doesnt work and then rewrite it and i put it in the faq.
so unless someone that has uscc can actually find the right settings
then I'm not changing it anymore.
I might open up the cab of settings for USCC and see what registry settings I need, and then i'd have to wait for a person with a stock USCC rom to export those location so I can make a cab.
But that won't be for a little while before I get time to do that.

I just purchased an HTC Touch Pro from Verizon. I am experienced installing this ROM with my previous VX6900 (Touch). I am trying to run Coke 2.31 (Vogue_unlocker_MFG_2.31) but am hitting a snag. When the DOS prompts tell me to disconnect and re-connect the device during it's initial setup, the phone is rebooted. However, the phone never reboots, it just displays the screen telling me that the phone is restarting. It doesn't get past that point. I have to soft reset the phone, which I can do successfully, in order to use it, but am unable to run the unlocker program.

Sorry I did not write the unlocker.
So I do not know why this is happening.
It would be best to ask this at the ImCokeman's unlocker thread
after searching that thread also.

Okay I have a bit of a problem. I can't get the screenshots, because my digitizer decided to quit completely on me during dinner last night. I re-locked my phone and flashed it back to stock to turn it in for warranty. Problem is, since its Sunday, all of the service centers are closed. :mad:

Post Edited: Here is a new "Copy to Windows" folder. It contains some new graphics, the new bronzeres.dll file as well as my modified Titanium.cpr file. This one keeps all of the original panels, adds the Opera panel, and enlarges your photos, contact pictures, and album covers. Please take a look at it, and you are more than welcome to make changes as you see fit.

THIS IS FOR PORTRAIT ONLY!!! LANDSCAPE IS NOT SUPPORTED!!! I will try to make a landscape version if I can keep my daughter busy for a while.

I am now working on fixing the percentage battery icons and add a few tricks along with them. Stay tuned.

For Alltel Users in areas merged with Verizon.

On this post for the Verizon GPS

GPS
1. This is assuming you have already done the agps hack
2. Dial *228 and choose option 1
3. Soft reset the phone
4. Open your favorite gps app and you should have a lock within 30 seconds.
(if that does not work make sure
you have location on in the phone settings.
Also make sure that under gps settings you have
the baud rate set to 4800 and the com port set to 4)
If it still does not work check the following reg settings
[HKLM\Software\HTC\SUPL GPS]
\EnableAGPS = 1
\EnableSmartMode = 1
\GPSMode = 4 (should also work as 2)
\NumberFixes = 999999999
\QoSAccuracy = 50

As the Alltel cab would not work. and the old Windows 6.1 QPST GPS fix would not work again for me. (windows 6.5 would not let me enter the ##3424 without a dialing error)
Nor could i use the taskmanager to open the DMRouter.exe . I could run the program but vista couldn't find my drivers anymore.
So by trial and error i found a band-aid fix till the real programmers come up with a good fix.

That's strange considering I have alltel.
I always install the MMS and DCD Carrier cab located in post 1,
and it works 100% with Nfsfan's roms.

Well I'm making arrangements to get rid of my vogue.
I was going to keep it, but this girl I was helping,

If you are using my carrier cabs, you are much better off linking to the original source rather than mirroring them on rapidshare. As indicated by the date in the filename, they undergo changes, and without notice.
Thanks for letting me know that though as I didn't quite know that they change frequently.
I was planning on linking to those and getting rid of basically 99% of the stuff I have mirrored.

You have to unlock to flash a custom rom PERIOD.

You can't flash from a 1gb microSD. The maximum is 512mb.

7. Install the attached arcsoft cab
8. Do a soft reset.
9. Open phmregedit in the start menu
10. Navigate to hklm\software\arcsoft\arcsoftmms ua\config\mm1\wspheader\x-vzw-mdn
and put your 10 digit phone number for the value
11. Wait a min or two and do a soft reset
12. Go into messaging select menu and then mms options
13. Select the server tab
14. Select verizon wireless and change connect via to "the internet",
the other settings should be correct.
15. Wait a few min and perform a soft reset once more
16. Now mms should work!!!

Nice faq, but could you please expand on SD card flashing? I.E, you didn't say this, but you n eed to have unlocked with an appropriate coke before flashing, unless it's a stock rom. Also, if you flash to a pre-gps rom after a gps rom, you will brick your phone.

it should have been up in the top part of the unlock section already.
and says if you're flashing via sd, look below.

That pregps rom isn't really a rom, it's the radio. that's what's also stated in the unlock section.


If I ever get time to sit on these sites again, I'll try and rewrite it better.
but can't count on it.

they blocked lastfm themselves.

And pandora works! the pandora in my faq worked on his v12 rom...

OK, now you have an Unlocker and a ROM - now what, hmmmm
Use WinRAR and extract both the files into separate folders,
Press and hold the Power button+Camera Button and Stylus in the reset hole
until the 3 color screen comes up and it says serial,
now plug in your cable and it should change to USB.

Can you taste the rainbow and it is over the land of USB??
Great, now go into the Unlocker folder you created
and doubleclick on the RomUpdateUtility.exe
(going to be called RUU.exe from this point on).

Run the RUU.exe
Don't mess with other files unless you know what you're doing,

I think it's the old mms cabs I have here being messed up by the carrier cabs.
I know some of the newer carrier cabs were having the effect on mms cabs(personally had this happen to me)
Try hard resetting (just to eliminate possible problems, can try once without hard resetting, but if it doesn't work, it could be because of the other carrier cab left something behind)

but hard reset, and then install this carrier cab,
then the mms cab following the instructions...
let me know if it works.

i actually ended up running the DCD carrier and GC VZW Arcsoft MMS 5.0.70.24
re installed everything including the rom and everything is working on the spot now! i had an older carrier cab so im guessing that was messing things up.

Yeah, I have noticed a lot of people were having problems when you load an older carrier cab with the newer MMS cabs.
It's just not good. haha.

**Status update**
Starting my business with this other kid.
So I'm going to be quite busy with that.
But then I'll have my own domain (well sub-domain of the business') to host my website and my FAQS.
Which means that when that happens will be when I will update this one 100% and have it in a really easy format to read.
Hopefully it won't be too much longer, but I'm starting this one right as it will have a few servers around the world and will be the first of it's kind with a pretty big targeted market.
So yeah, that takes a higher precedence than the FAQS and forums; the same goes for my college classes.

I can't wait to redo these though.

Already tried all the fixes recommended for Pandora (Performance|File system filter cache: 131072 sectors|file system cache size: 8 mb|Glyph cache: 32KB (advised) and Network|TCP window size: 98304)

Any fix for this???

One more thing, everytime I sent a SMS I receive a message from System Administrator that says "The message you sent has been delivered". How can I disable it???

I tried following these steps for Verizon MMS and they seem to contradict the steps NFSFan put on his ROM page for wm6.5 v16(e.g. here you don't mention going into Connections -->delete everything and then going into System Tools-->Advanced Configuration and importing the mxipupdate_oemoperators_102.provxml). The steps you have listed here hose up my ICS Connect option so please point users back to the Hotfix NFSFan has here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3526944&postcount=2378). Thanks!

For the sound thing, not quite sure.never heard of di.fm before.
I personally use Last.Fm.
It's an amazing website.

For the Message has been delivered thing try these:
(I'll make a cab later today sometime when I get off work)
This should be the one that you need:

Make the following adjustments to get rid of the "SMS Message Sent" popup that appears after sending a text!
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Inbox
Click on Inbox (make sure the Inbox is highlighted) and select Edit, New Key
Name the New Key as "Settings"
Click on "Settings" (make sure the Settings is highlighted) and select Edit, New String Value
On "Value name:", key in SMSNoSentMsg and in "Value data", key in 1
Soft reset your device and test it with one SMS, and you will notice that the SMS Sent bubble is being disabled.

If you want to shut off the delivery notification, that's this:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Setting s]
"SMSDeliveryNotify"=dword:00000001



look for the above key in the registry.....set the 1 to 0 and reboot ,that should do it.

Any of the two Vogue unlockers whether .40 or 2.31 will work on X64 bit system. You will get a sleep error but just click thru it, it will happen about 6 time. wait 2 secs between them since it is meant for you to wait a timeout period. I went thru the above post installing both unlockers, worked flawlessly. hope that helps anyone having windows 64.

Is there a solution to use HTC Audio Manager for Manilla 2D? It seemed to work in NFSANS ROM, but not in another. Well I'm not sure about the any other part. I'm currently using Barogi44's 23568 ROM and it only loads Windows Media Player followed up with some error. And I tried installing HTC Audio Manager but the phone just started to lag.

To make the Audio Manager work you have to install an older version of HTC Audio Manager and the OX_ Audio Manager cab. After doing both of these soft reset and it should work like a charm.
Note: The Audio Manger will keep searching initially but after about 4-5 minutes just tap the music note on the launcher line and the music should then pop up. Files attatched. good luck and as always enjoy!

I guess the lag comes from the fact that there is a specific order in which to install programs with the older M2D (in fact, Audio Mgr must be installed prior to the main M2D program or else it won't work afaik). I am not certain, but you could try to see if you can do anything with M2DC (reassign the player tab to work with another player (like the internet tab). Good luck.

Nice...about time someone took over the Faq.
I got rid of my Vogue a long time ago and spend all of my time at MobileUnderground.info instead of here or that PPCG place. MU is the place to go for chef stuff.

But just an FYI, what I noticed on your Faq was the battery must be @50% to flash, this is not true. If you put your phone into bootloader and plug in the phone, you're perfectly fine and can flash with 5% if you really wanted too (although not recommended to do on less than 15-20%).

But nonetheless, nice FAQ.

When I made this the newest rom was on #238...try looking at the first page and you may find a link to the newest one...This FAQ is not maintained anymore...Maybe someday, but I highly doubt it...no time to work on this anymore along with my websites..

Anything I do maintain will mainly be at MobileUnderground.info from now on.

do not use the verizon mms instructions from this thread, they do not work.
use the ones from nfsfans rom thread.

i dont know what it is about this rom but i can not get the mms to work with this rom for verizon. ive tried and tried every setting known to man. and nothing works for this damn rom. ive even installed the same exact arcsoft mms composer from ssk rom (which the mms works on that one) and all the settings that are used and still no luck. can someone please point me in the right direction.

I hate to toot my own horn, but this rom is old. Try using XevRev (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=873446). I primarily use Verizon and it seems to work great. No need to use some carrier cab, flash the Verizon version and it should be okay (just dial *228 and make sure your PRL is up-to-date). Just a basic rom, no speed optimizations, and two build flavors. Built to be stable and easy to get up and running.

Yeah I have since moved to android since that post but I still have my touch pro and a relative is looking to buy it so I wanted to hook it up with something a little better looking then winmo 6.1 with touchflo.

Try to connect, BT pairs, buy iPad and phone both say Not connected and won't connect.
