The first rom from me for X7510 is here.
Build 21042 (Topaz), Drivers from X7510 last original ROM, and just everything clean and...and nothing, just let you comment it there ;)
The version is really without anything (it is lighter than 76mb).
If this will be good for you, there will be other rom with WM6.1 & 6.5.
Enjoy.

Hello,

everytime i try to flash the new your rom i recieve the "image file corrupted" error :(

i am working from c:\rom, device is completely reset to factory defaults, tried :

athena unlocker :
flash SPL from image version 3.29.407.1 to Hard-SPL
updating the rom, and it says "error 202 : connection"

then i found your new release for the x7510:

update the rom from: 3.29.407.1
to
R0 Rel MiChY

updating rom, device gets 3 color mode, USB, SPL 3.07.00,ATHE400, IPL2.02. .... show progress bar:1% restart and then "Error 270:update error". the image file is corrupted....

its an unbranded german device no spl done b4.

any help would be appreciated.

have already flashed my device with the new rom and have been testing. amazing work! the only problem till now is that the vueflo doesn't seem to work. internet explorer starts, the little circle of the vueflo is shown on the taskbar, the little point moves following the movement of the device but the content of the web page isn't scrolling. i have of course enabled the vueflo in settings. fast and clean rom indeed. i love the michyprima's touch in settings.

Hello Michy,

is there a way to get "Large Start Menu" running?
I'm currently trying 6.1 Light in 96dpi with HTC Home "Small" - but I'd like to have the large start menu. In your former X7500 ROMs there was under "Settings\Personal" an icon called "Menu setting" to adjust menu size and enable "Large Start Menu". I tried the AP4.0 cab for Large Start Menu - this isn't working.

Any idea ?

enable it in control panel settings-system-gsensor and tick "diamond gsensor service"
they are disabled by default to speedup the system

Thanks for the ROMs. Maybe in future projects...It would be nice to have more ROMs with Real VGA running at 96 dpi too. :) If you can also correct some of the distorted icons and wordings, that would be execellent.

I'm now using this Lite ROM and it is very good!

Free RAM after HR not as much as figure on front page- 61MB as opposed to 70MB but good enough.

Time to reboot to Today screen is an excellent 27secs. Even with MS3, Touchpal and Spb Weather loaded, free RAM is still 50MB

iGO8 loads, runs and exits fine and the map screen is a little more resonsive.

IE6 works much better in this ROM and better than the one on my Diamond, and its great not having Opera in ROM allowing me to use my preferred Netfront 3.5 without Opera muscling its way in!

Has anyone experienced the WiFi coming on by itself with this ROM? I use WiFi with Activesync to access my work MS Exchange server, but I always turn off WiFi afterwards as it eats up the battery in no time. I do email check manually, not at any timed intervals. But I see that the WiFi comes on by itself!

NeilM
4th May 2009, 09:46 AM
Yes- I get the WiFi turning on at intervals though its not a new issue.

I've seen this happen on all my devices since WM6 was released, whether stock or coooked, but it seems a little mre 'aggressive' in more recent ROMs.

This ROM is no worse for me than the stock O2 Flint ROM in that respect.

It seems there needs to be 2 conditions met for it to occur:
1) There is no valid GSM/3G data connection
2) The user has manually done a send/receive using WiFi.

Once 2) has occurred the OS then activates WiFi at intervals to check send/receive.

As far as I know, the only way to stop it once it has started is a soft reset. I agree it is an undesirable trait and there should be an option to defeat it.

Thank you for the great work. Finally the X7510 is as snappy as it should have always been. You put HTC to shame.

I have one small issue with the big HTC Home you created though. I have installed it in this ROM, but the weather only updates directly after a soft reset. After that it says it is unable to update. Any ideas what could cause that?

Just one little problem I have experienced with this ROM: I use Spb Mobile Shell 2.x; I'm not sure if this problem has something to do with it. But the problem is that if the device has been in the Flight mode and I want to de-activate the Flight mode so I can make a phone call, exiting the Comms Manager becomes impossible. It just stays on the screen and partially covers the phone dial pad.
Anyone with this problem?

after installing realvga in 96 dpi dialer doesnt seem to work.it doesnt open at all. even if i switch back to 192 dpi when i press start menu- phone nothing seems to happen. any help?

edit: just unistalled the 96 dpi resources and the dialer now works fine. what could be the cause of this? is there any way to fix it? realvga is a useful and nice hack. has anyone managed to run it without the issue i have?

edit2:tried to install 128 dpi resources and the dialer works. forgot to mention that of course when i change to 96 dpi i check the "disable phone skin" option. but when i switch back to 192 dpi the phone doesnt work at all even though i have unchecked the "disable phone skin" option. so i think that it has something to do with the 96 dpi resources cab file that i install.

hi padanfain. after i posted my problem here and of course i didnt received any answer or help from anybody (everybody says that it is a perfect rom and blah blah blah) i read your post in the michyprima's full version of this rom thread. no i havent figured out how to solve this and after getting no help at all i returned to my previous rom. yes this is a very nice rom and very fast but i dont intent to sacrifice the usability for the speed. also there are a lot of tweaks that i used to make my previous rom as fast as this. if michyprima fixes this in the next version of this rom i will be happy to flash my device with it because i think it would be really good.

hi padanfain. after i posted my problem here and of course i didnt received any answer or help from anybody (everybody says that it is a perfect rom and blah blah blah) ....

Don't have a go at other users not responding; if we have experience we will respond, if we don't have the experience we won't, simple as that.

The number of users of the X7510 is relatively low and the number using RealVGA is significantly lower than that.

I don't use RVGA for a number of reasons and as a consequence find that Michy's ROMs are indeed close to perfect, and am happy to say so.

Hopefully the problem will be sorted in due course!

I hope for the problem to be sorted too man because it is a great disadvantage at least for me not to be able to use realvga with this amazing rom. i agree that there are not so many users of x7510 but i think that the most of them use realvga. but that's not the point. the point is to find a solution and i think only michyprima has the knowledge to help us.

You are not wrong there :)

Maybe we should have a poll as to how many X7510 users also use RealVGA :)

Personally I fond too many of my programs won't work properly with it; also my ageing eyesight finds the standard 192dpi adequate!

The majority of programs I use tend to work just fine and the ones that don't usually have viable alternatives that do support realvga. The screen is so big it seems like a shame to have such a low resolution on it.

I agree with you in all your points, and specially regarding the ageing eyes. I was using RealVGA about 2 years ago or more, on X7500, first on 96 dpi, then 128, but then I've found that best way to use this device is to use it with fingers, instead of the pin. Specially when in the car. Now I have set my interface to be easily operated with fingers, by gestures or touches, and I would never switch to any of those tiny screen devices.

The advantage of Advantage is that it has big screen, yes, but not for 96 dpi. It is for us, lazy users who want to have it big and easy to work with. I use it already for about 3 years, first X7500, now X7510, with stereo BT headset, as my main phone and am happy with big screen and VGA. But VGA I need when am using browser, or showing pictures or video, but not for clogging a screen with many small icons. That is why I do not use TouchFlo3D. Too complicated, and not reliable, regarding fingers operation. The same with SPB MS 3.x. I prefer UL + Resco Command Manager+Agenda. In this ROM (Michy's Clean), works like charm, sharp and clean and easy, even in the car (sport with hard suspension, you know what I mean). In realVGA I would not even be able to push a button, not mentioning this small icon.

This is only my opinion. I have my years already and I work mainly with a computer. Young people have better eyes and are accustomed to operate with those strange, small buttons. They can use RealVGA, but it seams to me that this device is mainly chosen by us, little bit older, so that's way not many questions here about RealVGA, although I was the first to prepare icons for SPB Plus for 128 dpi some years ago.

Well put, Tadeusz, couldnt agree more. I use RealVGA with 128dpi on my 7500 (for browsing) and normal dpi (192) on my 7510 (work) since i cant see sh*t otherwise, simple fact. NeilM, start a poll for how many 7510-users actually use RealVGA! :)

the number doesnt show because you need to disable smartdial.
I will look into it, maybe i forgot some files. i'm sorry for that, but i can't try it right now because my athe is broken.
Does it tell you that there are some files missing when you apply 96 or 128 dpi?

Hello!

Do you have any pictures yet? - I would really like to see what your ROM looks like!

I am looking at installing this ROM onto my device!
I am still a little unsure though! My device is fairly new and still under warranty! If anything does go wrong, then I won't be able to send it back with your ROM on it!
Also is there any clarification as to whether or not the G Sensor/Accelerometer works on the O2 XDA Flint version of the X7510?
Currently with the stock O2 ROM it doesn't work!
Also is there a standard O2 ROM anywhere I can download, just incase I need to revert back??

Many thanks

Alex

Folks, as a newbie, I look at endorsements from others to try to find my way through the cornucopia of ideas for improving HTC products presented on XDA. With my first ROM burning, I can only say that michprima with this ROM and cmonex with HARD-spl for the 7510 have rescued my device from oblivion, so I hope this opinion will help others to take the plunge that I did and fix their devices.

here's what I wrote to both of them:

Dearest michyprima,

You and cmonex have rescued my 7510 from a pounding with a 5kilo sledge! I was SO frustrated with it's stock windoze immobile (Bought it from a Taiwan distributor) that I was really ready to do it in -- and I've been fighting with it since last November! I finally got up the nerve to try my hand at burning a ROM -- you see, I am a total newbie with all issues of of burning ROMs, modding devices, etc -- I come from the much simpler, much more stable world of Palm (only reason I got the Advantage is because my venerable T3 is wearing out). it burns my a$$ that manufacturers release good hardware with such lousy software that they are unusable.

Anyway, thanks to your lite ROM and cmonex's HARD-SPL, I am now on my way to having a device I can live with. I've donated the equivalent of $XX to your beer fund, in hopes that you'll consider this a fair contribution for your hard work - I really have no idea what's considered fair, so hope you'll accept it in the spirit of gratitude (and jealousy at your knowledge of how such things are created).

indebtedly yours,
-avi

Folks I love this ROM, first I ever burned, but need some help with a couple problems:

1. I can not get Windows Media Player to play videos recorded by the internal camera in any of the available formats such as .mp4, .MOV, .3gp . I get the error message:

"The source filter for this file could not be located"

I have verified that the clips are ok both because some of them are from before I burned this ROM to the device, when they did play, and also by copying them to my desktop computer where they play properly in Windows Media Player Classic (and 3gp in QuickTime Player, although mp4s not in QuickTime or RealPLayer) .

The only file that will play on the device is a .wmv file sent to me in email.

2. Likewise, TCPMP 0.72RC1 installs but crashes as soon as I try to run it, generating an error message (in my localized language even though I do everything in English!) and creating a long crash.txt file, so I can't even test it with the videos.

3. Voice recording apps that used to work, such as recorder.exe, give errors as soon as I try to run them:

"The file 'Recorder' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components can not be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file."

I realize these are separate problems, and maybe deserve separate threads, but I think they have several characteristics in common:
A) all occurred after installing this ROM
B) all are media related
C) all appear to be related to some missing or inaccessible component in the OS

For reference, I also tried the solutions in this post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=365381), which wouldn't even install.

You can see I'm a "babe in the woods" with regards to multimedia usage, so please be patient with me ....

The inability to play those video clips is doubly frustrating because some of them are of my father at a family gathering, before he passed away this year, so any help is greatly appreciated!

TIA,
