My boss and I both have Vogues. Both are flashed to NFSfan's 6.5 V7 and the radios have been upgraded to 3.42.5. My GPS locks on fine but my boss's won't. I can use GPOS viewer and will immediately see some Sats but his never does. I have checked all the QPST settings, registry and windows settings and they are identical. The only difference I can see is the PRI and PRL:

Mine
PRL 51284
PRI 1.37.002

His:
PRL 51309
PRI 2.03.002

Could this be causing his GPS not to work? Is there a way to change the versions on his? Thanks for any help. Tim

I just checked my phone and I'm running:

ROM version 2.00.V7.ROM
Radio version 3.42.50
PRL version 51101
PRI version 1.37_002

My gps took a crap about 6 weeks ago. I did the QPST redirection to the Telus IP and server but it still did not work. Then when NFS released 6.5 v7 I was extremely surprised to see tomtom pick up sats without any changes to the registry. So I went back to 1.15 verizon to test it out and I had the same results as before; poor gps locks. So I went back to 6.5 and today I had a solid lock on 12 sats :D Works better now then it ever did. I posted a question under the NFSfan thread but no one responded on why it works now with telus settings and the rom has bell settings.

Thats whats weird,
my GPS is/was working great. That is without doing anything to NFSfan's v7 so I loaded it on his and it still doesn't see anything. The only diffences I see between his and mine are the PRI and PRL. Timmay!!!

Is his phone a replacement? Did he at one time run the verizon gps rom which to my understanding will screw the gps if customizations are allowed to run.

By the way. Did you do the Telus QPST update when verizon went down or are you still using the original ip and server addresses?

He has had his phone around 6 months. I originally did the Valhalla hack to enable the GPS and it worked fine until a couple weeks ago. I updated my phone to radio 3.42.50 and NFSFan's 6.5 V6 which worked great and brought back the GPS. I updated his yesterday to the same and his GPS still doesn't work. I checked and both of us are running the Telus settings within QPST.
Could it be we (You and I) are on the same PRI version? Is there a way to change that?

Thanks for your responses. Timmay!!!

this is completely true, i had a replacement within the last month and i had to flash down to the 1.37 pri in order to get agps to finally work again. (mine was at the 2.03 when i received it). i tried a lot to get it to work with 2.03 but gave up and down flashed.

How does one flash down the pri just in case of phone replacement? Maybe this info can be added to the new 6.5 nfs faq.

CDMoore,
I finally got it to work by taking it down to 1.37_002. There is a post over on PPCGeeks (sorry mods if I am not supposed to mention them). I tried to find it for a link but couldn't. You have to flash to the alltell rom and then the bell rom to update the pri and radio. I am not sure in which order. Someone wrote up a walkthrough, I googled verizon pri 1.37_002 and found the link. Hope this helps, if not, just post back up and I will search for the link more. Timmay!!!

OK, now I must admit to being confused...

I'm running PRI 2.03 and my aGPS works (mostly). If it's not working, I just prime it with Google maps, then it's fine.
