Lots n lots of improvement is required.
Best example is have a look at Onyx latest WM6.5 beta releases...

this latest rom, V76, is brilliant.

Its quite stable
& the honeycomb menu isnt laggy at all (unlike another 6.5 rom i tried)

but i do have a couple of complaints:

When scrolling down the start menu, it stops after 4 rows
it would be much better it if just continued onwards as fast as your flicked it
Otherwise it takes three flicks to get to the bottom of my list.

The other thing is how it always hangs for a moment or two when you lock it.
Because of this, im now using S2U2 like i used to with a 6.1 rom, but if it was a bit quicker, i would be using the built in lock.

Other than these two things, its great
good job

If there is a fix for the "only scrolling down 4 rows" thing, please let me know as it would make this rom truly amazing

That is how Microsoft has developed it. For some reason, the Microsoft guys find it useful this way.

Hehe.. that's the infamous "butter finger" issue ;) You might also see other issues such as dead areas of the screen and programs closing down unexpectedly when you touch the screen. It cannot be completely fixed unless you replace touch.dll and biotouch.dll with an older one. You need to cook them into the ROM, it's not a simple matter of copy and paste into \Windows.

OK I can help you!
You can using follow steps to make "MyShortcut":
_ First you should open CHome Editor and "Add New Panel" with name "MyShortcut" using default cpr
_ Second you download "MyShortcut.rar" (attached), extract and copy folder into "\Storage Card\My Documents"
_ Open folder "My Shortcut" in your ppc and run file "MyShortcut.reg" for import info into registry and run "RefreshToday.exe" for refresh home screen

Customize your shortcut:
_ You can customize your shortcuts by open "MyShortcut.reg" with Notepad and edit info inside, or you can using CHome Editor for customize
_ You can open shortcut with Notepad in MyShortcut folder for edit path of application. Example you can open "HandySwitcher.lnk" for change path.

I can write a application for edit MyShortcut, but I still don't know how to get icon from application and convert to PNG file with transparent.

It even worse if the phone is on lock status, it was 100% miss call and also get phone stucked with phone/contact function, you can not do anything else without soft reset...

also do you found problem on wifi? I experienced the wifi could not be turn on after couple days since flashing rom (even after couple soft reset). Especially if I installed local GPRS service (Rogers). Then I have to delete them and soft reset 2-3 times then wifi can be turned on again...

I found this is kind of common problem on both this Rom and Onyx wm6.5 B35...

So, I went and dwnloaded the V80 from rapidshare. Tried to flash it and it's get stuck at 3% with an error "Update Error [270]". Tried it couple of times with no luck.

Mine is a elfin purchased in India unlocked and now use with AT&T. I had my micro sd and my SIM removed when I tried....

Any help is appreciated.

Hi People,

I have been using the cooked WM 6.1 ROM by PDAVIET. Earlier version. I am a fan of PDAVIET and had followed the earlier veriosn of 6.1 too but did not flash it on my device.

Yesterday, I flashed the new WM 6.5 v80 ROM and here are some obervations .....
1. My ELFIN has become slow ... operation-wise and also when i do a soft reset it takes too much time to come back. Don't know if that is the fault with my device.
2. I have to use my Stylus for scrolling and fingure scrolling is not effective. I have to put some extra pressure on the screen. I did change the figurepressure value to 5000 in the registry .. but still the same. What is the optimal value to be put.
3. The Titanium weather software does not take any settings if try to put in.

Can somone on this thread help me??

Suggest :
- Take out the battery for few minutes and then put it back for restarting
- Check the version of IPL and SPL

I did took off the battery and tryed again.

In fact the screen stays black and the Orage light is blinking very slowly.

I left the phone on AC power all night to be sure the battery is fully charged.

Nothing is different this morning.

Before pdaviet I had the stock Orange rom.
I installed the HardSPL, then flashed with PDAviet rom.

But I have to say that the phone worked for a few hours before dying.

It says to press the "action" button. I assumed that it was the big button in the middle.

It says "formating fat" then "formating done". got the orange logo. And nothing else. The phone switched off.

Do it again, it should work. It sounds that the problem is from the ROM. You can try to flash the ROM again by using the Bootloader mode (3 colours screen)

looks into the sticky thread there is a good tutorial on this.

to enter bootloader mode, your softreset the phone(using the stylus on the little hole next to the usb port) while pressing the camera button, then you get to a three color screen, showing your IPL and SPL version numbers. from this point your better read the tutorial.

With the right IPL/SPL my phone works again..

I can't understand why PDAViet roms worked for a few hours but anyway... now it is solved..

Why is needed SuperCID to Work.
Can we add ID model and CID to adapt the cooked rom to original ?

- date rom: 10/02/07
- Radio: 03.07.90
- protocol version: 4.1.13.51
- ExtRom version 2.20.408.101

I have tried to flash with the wm6.5 rom but when start flashing at the 3% it said corrupted file.

I have to update the radio ? ora what i have to do?
I have unlok sid following the tutorial and i think it's finish well!

PDAViet ROM WM6.5 V78 for HTC ELF & ELFin (Touch1 and Touch2) created by Pham Quang:
- Base on OS: 3.10.710 WWE ROM of ELFin
- Replace OEM from ROM of HTC Jade.
- Removed Manilla 2D.
- Integrated keyboard from HTC Rhodium.
- Using Titanium WM7 and CommManager Tab for Titanium by Ibrythill & Chriscsh (XDA).
- Change XIP and SYS from WM6.5 (Core 21731) from XBETA.
