Many panels disable the taskmanager icons
Same happens when using R2A or any stock ROM: open fish panel and the taskbar dissappears

xtrakt recommends closing all other open apps, maybe that was the problem because I do like it and I ride the bike from time to time

Great ROM gtrab! Really fast, easy to use, and great to look at.

When I first flashed the ROM MXP was working perfectly, detected all my files and album art. When I switched memory cards to reflash my radio, though, all the songs and videos disappeared from MXP when I put back the first memcard. Tried switching memcards again, no change.

Minor, and unreproducible, glitch though, so not really a bug. Using the WMP CHome plugin works just as well.

Unfortunately my X1 task manager is showing 38-50 (avg 45%) ram usage without many programs installed. Is this because of the new WM6.5 GUI or I have done something worng?

@experia1234, what's the problem. I've currently got Clock, CorePlayer, Opera, Pictures & Video, Seven, SMS \ MMS and Total Commander and have only reached 63% of RAM.

On R3AA generic UK, with about 20 application installed, RAM is no more than 28%, when I run TOMTOM it goes to 35%
Doesnt this RAM usuage shorten the battery life?

Msn messenger doesn't seem to connect on wifi or 3g.

When i try to enter my mail and password everything goes when, after syncing contacts it comes up with the error that it cannot sync my personal settings?
And when i press the connect button it says:
"There was a problem signing in to messenger. It may be the service or you may be in a place with bad reception. Please try again later."

Anyone else has this problem?

You can use ANY taskbar icons, but Ethermind's battery driver is required

Start menu works fast and smooth
You could have installed something else, maybe messing it up ??
I'd recommend you to hard-reset -> test
Then start adding your apps and tweaks one by one until identifying the faulty one

Not related to the ROM itself
sounds like one of the plugins screwed your expandabilityxml line in registry
I'd suggest testing plug-ins one by one until the faulty one shows up

what has that got to do with this thread?

if i wanted an iphone look i would have bought an iphone. same for HTC manilla etc. the reason i like this rom so much is that it stays true to the x1 original theme.

if you want an htc/iphone look so much, buy the actual thing :P

dodgy themes for it i has the drimson themes for the titanium and its screwed ... basic titanim works fine... try n put one of the themes on top panels diosapear and u cant get em back with chome editor u got reinstall titanium. got it sorted... eventually.
titanium is a pain in the ass to uninstall as for the plug in when i try to do in setting remove. it jsut says was unable to be completly removed only was i could totally get rid of it was to run the install again which removes it then restarts befor it will let u install again then jsut not reinstall

yeah the alarm is messed up, i was late for work first time i used it. Using my k850 for that atm.
I've just tried it out again..

set alarm - no key lock and pressed power button to put into standby - you get reminder tone then alarm tone. I tried that 3 times, all working fine.

Did same again but locked keys. Then there was a reminder, a very long pause, then another reminder, then pause, then alarm, but the alarm tone is glitchy, stops/starts.
Tried that a few times and it did the same.

Then I left the keys unlocked again, it played the reminder tone over and over but no alarm, prob why i didnt wake up.
It does this every time now, have to uncheck the alarm and press OK then go back in and reenable it to make it work properly again.

Soudns like a problem with your operator configurations
You should ask for support to get the correct MMS config from your carrier
Or you can try the second auto-config @ settings -> connection

What I've found out is that animating arrows in all three lock screens delay and break events and cause all sorts of problems with incoming calls, alarms and whatnot.

There's an easy way of removing animations. Arrows remain, they just don't animate. Get the cpr files listed below out of your xperia somehow (use ActiveSync or the on-device file browser or whatever) and modify them by simply removing all ControlSequence sections - those are animations. Files are:
/Windows/LS_LockScene_480x800.cpr and _800x480.cpr
Removing animations causes your X1 to become responsive a second sooner after being awaken from standby
/Windows/LS_AlarmScene_480x800.cpr and _800x480.cpr
the system alarm may become more reliable and will not skip
/Windows/LS_PhoneAlertScene_480x800.cpr and _800x480.cpr
your X1 will start ringing sooner on an incoming call


Copy modified files back in their place, overwriting originals (first make a backup of originals if you want) and reboot your X1.

all the internet apps work fine only msn didn't connect with wifi or 3g. but i managed to fix this issue by doing an old trick:
Install 10.6.0034.0800 (fixed) - reboot by installer
10.6.39.133 by lazapasi - reboot by installer
Install 10.6.0034.0800 (fixed) again! then softreset and it works.

i still find it a bummer that the built in alarm doesn't go off when the phone is in standby :( come on Microsoft! this has never worked well on WM.

only 2 "issues" that i have found is that sometimes when switching to the panelview sometimes randomly the panels become unresponsive when i want to click them for like 5 seconds and then it works fine again.

and the battery is really draining fast. I use the new lock screen maybe this causes it? example, 08:00 battery full whole day made 1 call for 2 mins, checked my mail over 3g for 2 mins and received 2 sms messages and now it's 19:00 and the battery is at 30%.

overall really good rom and a keeper! keep up the good work! :D

Is present in other 6.5 ROMs too. Not such a big problem I guess. I have too the QuickGPS issue (not start) after I use Internet Sharing. This either is not a big problem. I'm on your 1.01.W4X.23 ROM and getting rid of panels made the phone fast and titanium with all plugins really kick ass!

But, is this an image or "just" software? Can I upgrade to WM 6.5 including all the cool stuff I have been reading about the SEX1 without flashing my phone? And something completely different: Is there an easy way to backup and restore my phone when I flash it? I mean including all applications and stuff? I am using PPCPimBackup but don't know exactly if it works if I just backup the whole phone and restore it afterwards. Wouldn't the restore overwrite some of the updated stuff then?

It's an image... so you would have to flash the OS to get wm6.5.

It's well worth it though, this is an incredible ROM which gives you so much more than the original and is also faster and unlike alot of other ROMs the phone still feels SEXy! :D

As stated on first post, after mflshing this ROM image (*.nbh) your operating system will boot as if it were the first time you turned on your Xperia, but with Windows Mobile 6.5

You can't upgrade to WM6.5 without flashing
(sort of "can I upgrade to windows 7 without formatting windows vista ??")

I am not sure if current backup apps for WM6.1 are WM6.5 compatible...
But most of the current apps are compatible, so you can reinstall the CABs after flashing the new ROM

I have a little trick to keep my contacts and phone call history after a flash or hard-reset:

Copy pim.vol from the device to the SD card
Flash
Rename the new (and empty) pim.vol to pimbak.vol or wahetever, then copy your full pim.vol from your SD card to the device and reboot

This is VERY strange

Opera is in Start menu -> scroll down

Are you sure your download was OK and it flashed OK ??
Maybe the customization process was interrupted ??
Did you restore a WM6.1 backup ??

3. Is there anyway to get autokey lock to come on?

HEY gtrab.... ! great rom.. it's been loving my xperia for close to a month now... and have had very few problems on a day to day basis...

one that is starting to occur more often..and get increasingly frustrating.. is for some reason when coming out of an sms msg back to the sms list it tends to freeze/hang for a good 30-90 seconds still get tactile feedback from the screen and sound from hardware keys.. and yet nothing happens for close to a minute.. sometimes i just set it down and come back to it noticing it's performed the hundred screen clicks and hardware button presses i've done since it froze.... very frustrating... sometimes i feel like i'm back on win 95 for a min...

other than this issue.. and some radio rom issues i've been having tho.. extremly fast rom GREAT WORK!


edit:.. silly me.. or .... i hope anyway.... i deleted a few conversations that i'd had open for approx a month and use on a daily basis...
weird... once they were gone my lag problems went away.. imagine that.... now i just gotta keep my fingers crossed that was Actually the problem and it doesn't return as soon as i'm done editing this post :/


p.s. btw. the new spb 3.01 is lightning fast on this rom... makes having it installed worth while now.. :) cheers!

Aye aye, this is because you passed some 6.1 sms to 6.5 (a backup maybe ??)
When ole 6.1 smss are deleted all works OK

I just needed to confirm that aside from the SIP/ VOIP Solution that was made for Windows 6.5, have you made any solution for Win 6.5. Is there any way of Making a similar kind of SIP tool in Xperia which is available in Nokia E series in which you can also go and enter you Access point settings for wireless network. I was never able to deploy SIP by the tweak to make it run on the GPRS network. Its only use to run on the WI-fi network after trying almost all the different recommended solutions. My connection is 3G/Edge/ HSPD enabled from the service provider.

If someone can help me with this, would really appreciate it.

Perhaps... I have no idea why it's not working. It instantly starts checking when I turn the phone on but it won't check at all while it's in sleep. Is there a registry setting I should be checking?

In most cases, it is related to changing the regional settings

Regarding the email download time, open messages and there is a configuration option there for each account

Regarding QuickGPS... When I turn my X1 on, I too can not start it.

I can fix this by:
getting a Process Manager of some kind
killing QuickGPS.exe


Once I kill it, I can run it again and it starts correctly.

You can do this with the stylus. Just touch the screen and slide over the files you want to select. It works for me. Otherwise you have to search for another program to do this(resco explorer can do multiple select but this is just a file manager)

Should be possible @ start -> settings -> connections
or @ phone config

BUT IMHO the most batt consuming feature is the backlight and WiFi

Enable auto-adjust backlight and auto timeouts and your batt will last longer longer looonger

WiFi consumes more batt than 3G IMHO
(could be wrong, but that's my appreciation)

Whilst WiFi is the biggest drain, if you have a weak 3G signal your phone will try to hang on to it, which would drain the battery faster than on 2G.

I think he didn't flash the ROM, he just added the SEX1 customiztion CAB :p

And thus, he only got the CAB contents (welcomehead etc is backwards compatible)

when the phone is locked and someone is calling me i cannot see who it is .. I only see the number, but not a name (and picture).. is there a way i can fix this? is this a known problem?

I had a similar problem, when I was locking my phone and I had a phone call (and also when I had an alarm), I had the nice new screen to answer/dismiss, which when I pressed either button nothing would happen. Now that I don't use the lock (I'm not that worried) everything is good.

Search the Xperia ROM thread, there should be a thread mentioning issues with several types of SD-cards (Kingston cards always give problems as you described)

You need to replace the stock SPL for Hard-SPL first
Take a look at the first post of the XPERIA LIBRARY, it is very easy

Dude, i just flashed this one an hour ago and i gotta say, this is the quickest and most stable ROM that i found on here. Really good UI, looks great! Really fast with commands and everything just works so smoothly....thans a lot!

Only problem that i have is the battery life, it doesn't even last 1 full day @ full capacity. Without me doing anything for 8 hours today my phone was drained completely. I use the lock screen + titanium wm6.5 panel. No other program running on the background.

Does someone have similar problems?

Gtrab, radio (included in media panel) has bugs.

If doing any settings in radio (for example rds on/off), you can't go back "up" to media panel head menu. The "back" button disappear... :(

And if the phone volume is set to silent or vibrate - you can't hear radio or music from media panel :(

Generally I can last for about 2 days with average use. Using wifi will drain battery quite fast, so does 3G when in an area with low perception.

Haven't experienced that one yet, maybe because I don't use the radio that often:p

No man, no problem there, it might be your phone though.

This ROM is really stable, although i don't recommend the extra packs you ca ndownload for it, themes and stuff are not that important, and the screen ticking sounds are way to annoying, other than that...good ff-ing job man!

First of all thanks for the PUREly awesome rom, everything run very smooth and fast

Second, i have a small problem, i installed the SPB mobile shell 3 (which i like also very much) so i could combine the WM 6.5 interface with the SPB UI, but when i installed it, all the menus turned to normal WM 6.1 (instead of having the nice round edges they have square). Is there a way to fix that? I think it might be a registry value or something that changes that. Please let me know if there is workaround to this.

the "stock" (but hidden !!) scrolling tics can be disabled in settings-> touch flo settings (I enabled the link in control panel to turn scrolling ticks on-off at will)

When at home I use wifi with WPA2 encryption, but never had any problems sending/receiving.

This ROM looks very original, looking at it i see the only missing part is The Silance command befor Answer an incoming call in the original menu.

Secoundry thing but not that important in the mean while, loading new Word takes very long time.

I've got one issue with this ROM aswell with all other WM6.5 roms, ringsignal and more are not sounding through the speaker, just my headset, when headset are plugged in. This is annoying when I need to hear my phone when It rings etc.

let's check if this is "normal behaviour" or WM6.5-dependant, also, let's see if there's a solution for it

I can remember my rings muted when having my headphones on, before flashing a custom ROM, but I could be wrong...

Im not having a pleasant experience with the pure rom. been using it for 2 weeks and the rom is quite problematic if u ask me.

Issues:
- always hang on me. have to turn off/ take battery out to restart the phone
- messaging title shows up when i switch to today screen, but can be close by scrolling the screen
- when receiving incoming call the phone reacts slowly when i press the call button, it takes 1-2 sec then the ringtone stop before i can accept the call
- after watching a video file from SE media panel and switching back to today screen, it hangs
- xpanel mode is real slow, occasionally freezes for about 5-10 secs when initiated

as everyone in this topic been saying how good and stable the rom is, from what im experiencing i think its a bit overrated. But am i the only one having all these issue round here? If im doing anything wrong please kindly advice. This is also my first time flashing winmo rom

Most of these glithces are not WinMo 6.5 bugs, but from Sony R3A 27 BETA PANEL MANAGER and R3A 27 BETA MXP PANEL

That's why I have used the OFFICIAL Sony R3A OEM for the new release, instead of the BETA R3A, which is still buggyish
(don't blame Sony: it comes from a leaked BETA (alpha ??) source, not final, not official, not perfectly developed yet... but was leaked)

I also upgraded WinMo 6.5 CE|OS build from 21500 to 21806 (latest)
Many bugs solved, some persist (it's still beta too), but is a better build by far

Take a look at the new release with the OFFICIAL Sony R3A OEM:

Regarding the problem with caller id not showing on locked screen, I realised that if the power button is not pressed to off the screen, the caller id will show on locked screen. But alarms will not sound will the device is locked, it will only light up but no sound.

Basically,

Lock + Power button = No Caller ID
Lock = Silent Alarm

Is this a WM 6.5 problem? Correct me if I'm wrong. Thank you!

There's a connections setup CAB floating around, can't point exactly where

Hi, really like the rom. Re-ignited my interest in the X1, was starting to find it clunky.

but found a Bug if your interested. If the phone is locked (slide to unlock mode), when an incoming call comes in the answer key responds, but does nothing (does not answer the call).

But gtrab, I have a little question about this and futures ROMs. Previously to install your ROM I installed the radio 1.14.25.55 (extracted from your Xperia Library :p), but I want to confirm with you if the rilphone.dll of your ROM is the corresponding dll for this radio version?

A sorry I have another question, well is a doubt. Your futures ROM will have in any moment the final version of WM6.5?, because I read in a different forum that the beta version will expire (and block the phone, only unblockeable with a hard reset) when the date reach the end of this year.

Your work sounds like it is excellent, I can't wait until you're done testing the new builds >D. I have a question though: it is now known that the Xperia X2 ('Vulcan') will run WM6.5 and Xperia Panels, so once that comes out would it not be very easy to simply port its ROM to the X1? It would be as bugfree as a stock ROM I suppose.

I thought all along that the leaked R3A apps (camera with autoflash, new mxp and panel manager etc etc) were never intended for the X1, but for its successor anyway. But this is Windows Mobile, so happily, all will be shared :D

i have edit my Windows/favorite using my computer... this show da new changes in IE, but how can get the same changes on the default opera borwser n opera mobile in windows 6.5??

I edit opera.ini and opera6.adr
Most commands (and favorites) are stored there
I even have a "backup" CAB with my pim.vol (contacts and call history) and my opera faves (opera6.ini and opera6.adr)

that's the way microsoft configured the icons in recent WM6.5 builds
dunno why :(

but that's the "purity" of it

the start menu layer display can be modified by editing the cpr files

You always need to install hard-SPL first after that you can flash by micro SD method or just RUU(from pc via usb).

I flashed the pure version, I realised that when vibrator is on the sound does come on when alarm sounds and my alarm does sound if the screen is off... My problem only?
My alarm doesn't sound off normal when the events sound in settings is set to on too, they seem to conflict and rush to sound off together causing no sound to come....

Ok, found more similar problems to before, when the power button is pressed to off the screen after locking phone, incoming calls take abt four rings before the phone will sound off.
If the power button is not pressed to off the screen then it will sound off almost in the 1st ring.
Sms doesn't have this problem, they come on pretty fast...

Just my five cents worth, hope its not too just my own problems.... Not seeking a solution but just tot its gd to share...

I will try to see if I can test it right now. Have just started working for the day and my X1 is my only phone at work. ;-)

Edt: Flashing at the moment. Is there anything else then the PIN PAD that needs testing?

The Pin lock is the Xperia one. I will provide a screen shot as soon as I can. Sorry no screen shot, but I can confirm that the PIN-lock uses the Xperia style.

(Still no wifi-status on clockpanel though) ;-)

However, I am about to upgrade to your new ROM but I am lost looking for the pim.vol - where can I find this file?

Everything works just great! I have just one problem with typing... when I press the spacebar, a _ appears for just a second. Only with fast typing the _ stays between the words and a space comes later, just like that.

Does anybody else have this problem? What can I do?? :confused:

I think i just figured out why my battery drained so quickly. I had the 1% battery tool installed. When i removed it, my phones battery was normal again (i could go 2 to 3 days without recharging) before it was empty in 10 hours.

BB is good if u want things your way - i.e your own customizations but i think the other will save you a lot of time for installing loads of stuff but its not for me since the camera application has been removed

And it came from another branch, a BETTER branch IMO
Date is 10 JUN 09 !!!
