[01 JUL] PURE WM6.5 Upgrade + BareBone + XTREME TITANIUM TF3D-KILLER XPERT [SEX1 R3]

I like this ROM, I was using PURE and it has been working fine.
Now I have installed R3.61 BareBone and can not set up Fring.
The User name and Password cells are not active (see attached screen shots).
Is there any solution with this ROM or I have to go back to Pure version? :(

wierd thing is when typing message and it´s longer than 1 sms it says (2 messaggi)

is it jast a joke or did you/MS missed it?

#2 when in keyboard out and entering menu icons is messed up
small, wide, long, tiiiiny and regular, and it´s differend icons on each restart =S
and not at all in regular mode(keyboard in) and it´s in all in the start meny.

and finaly when using smart lock software for auto lock...
when pressing suspend, it seems like the graphix accelerator isn´t in sync.
:in locked mode, screen on, when failing:
all black,but u can se windows logo, network and power in the start menu bar.


is it my phone that´s messed up and time for "accidentaly" drop in water and claim on warranty os it it some drivers that´s missing/not starting correctly sometimes?

Theoretically speaking, it is NOT NECESSARY to hard reset this particular ROM after installation, and I personally never do. IMHO there are just two types of flashes: OK or screwed up (corrupted download, corrupted decompression, corrupted copy to SD card)

When I am approaching a release, I usually test flash 20-40 times in a single day until it works flaswless

Nevertheless, hard-resetting after a flash is a very popular and extended habit, and I will not dis-recommend or dis-credit it

It is one of those SE things.... :) Everytime phone had an update I did a hard reset and it was working flawlessly. That was on K850i, mind you...

Fixed it! jast needed to reinstall .NET CF 3,7 now everything works like charm

Goto Start>Settings>System>Device Information. It should tell you in ROM Version.

Welcome to the club.
Which version have you installed? If it is 3.57 Barebone than Automatic Setup cab is available in Mr. ZeusII's signature.

If it is newer one (3.61) than you should have Automatic setup popped up after customization. If you ahve skipped it for some reason go to: Start>Settings>Connections and the AS should be there. Just run it and off you go!

Very great ROM, or what we say in german "geiles ROM" ^^. Very fast and stable.

TF3D works perfect, but the TF3D Panel will not work, it shows "loading" and nothing happen. Have anyone a solution for this "Problme"?

A very minor issue found. I had to remove the SE Font, becouse it made some of the text in Google maps unreadable.

BUT as emmeborn noticed, the SE font can be confused by some apps, so just delete it from \windows\fonts and you should be OK

@Gtrab I noticed on both 3.57 and 3.61 that alarm is not working properly. Even if Alarm5 is chosen as a ringtone, it will just make weak notification sound once it is activated.

Hey boycott, you can use cabbatch to install programs that are not installed on the rom, this app will call every cab in a certain folder to install. (you still need to select the location though). Handy cab for if you want to install the BB version and your own apps.

yes, every 6.5 rom I have tried seems to be pretty hard on the battery, I never get more than a day out of mine with a 6.5 rom, although I think gtrab's roms are not quite as hard on the battery as some of the others I have tried.

Because you haven't configured it ;)

XPERT is for advanced users:

1- 3 mortscripts run because 3 apps require configuration:
Cweather, Ccomm and CAnalog cock
Once you configure those 3 apps the mortscript dissappears

2- It is very well known that new beta panels vanish the task "X" in the upper corner, and also they show two "contacts" in lower bar - That ain´t no new bug, that's due to the beta nature of the new ActiveX Panel Manager, But I can live with it, and my guess is any Xpert user can :confused:

but being the author, my oppinions could be subjective...

Great ROM! Iam currently using the BB version because it runs much and much better on my X1. I do want to have Fav. people, new Weather, Analog clock and the advanced titanium phone as in xpert versoin.

Is there any way to also upload a content package with the several cabs you provide inside the xpert?! would be really nice, and i think really not such big a work.

guys, please remember to say WHAT VERSION of the rom (pure, barebone, xpert and number) are you using.

btw, 3.61 barebone has NO problems either with SMS receiving or SMS sending. notification works fine.

check the notification settings... maybe they are disabled. do a hard reset and see, maybe you installed some incompatible application that messed them...

Barebone was cooked with official panels in mind
If you really want the new beta panel manager and new beta MXP,
I suggest you to go for the XPERT version, which was intended for that purpose up from the ground

Don't think you can change this as an user. Think it's in the sys files so you need some core files changed. Correct me if i'm wrong

the trick to get a good battery life is to setup gprs connection autodisconnect in advanced setup application.

if not, the connection is always on since first connection and eats the battery.

Yes agree a very nice beta indeed.....I forgot to mention that I did try the reload softkey, but it did not help in this instance, just had the minutes flashing on then blank, and the reload softkey worked in that instance. The workaround i used of turing Analog Clock of then on works so that may help if someone else has this quirk.

gtrab, thanks for feedback. I do not mean any start menu or replacement of icons. I talk about these "items" in AdvancedConfig-Program, normally the distance between two main items was small, now first time with your ROM the distance is huge, means it takes a while to go through the list as the list spreads a lot. It has nothing to do with the porgramm, as it is a global setting. Similar experiences in other system tools that use this style.

How to make the distance as it usually was, also the "+" icon for expand is BIG now.

a fairly simple workaround for the camera shutter sound is to change it in the registry. HML,software,sony ericsson,camera,property-photo-shutter-sound and change the value to 5. it still makes the focus sound but not the shutter sound

Well when im using Garmin, it needs up to 5-10 mins to connect to satelites ... in older versions of gtrab roms GPS connect last for 1-2 minutes ...

download "advanced configuration" and run it.

then MENU>MORE SETTINGS>CONNECTIONS

check "Disconnect after:" and select the time (I have 10 minutes).



also, on main screen of ad.configuration, select DATA CONNECTIONS

and on GPRS DISCONNECT, choose ENABLE BUTTON AND TIMER so you can also control the connection from the status popup



about GPS, for me works perfectly fine.

have a few tricks:

1st: remember to download QuickGPS data from start menu

2nd: for the first time, go to a clear place to get fix (usually the first time is slower)

3rd: some radios don't show "satellite bars" on garmin/tomtom but you get the fix (so don't look at the bars ;))

4rd: if no luck, before hardreset, I recommend running HTC GPS TOOL (found in 1st post) and "OPEN PORT". try to get a fix. if it doesn't get it, select FUNCTION>MODE>COLD START and OPEN PORT again. worked for me the unique time I got no fix at all after flashing a custom rom.

i dunno if anyone posted this problem i couldn't search for it (too many posts)

but with the pure upgrade version (14-jun) sometimes the ringing sound goes and when i go to select a ringing tune an error message telling me that "the ringing tune file is currupted or not available", which makes me soft-reset my X1 several times a day and make me lose some calls...

other that that the rom is better that the previous one specially with RAM consuming, but i had to return back to the previous one because of my problem :(

rilphone.dll (the Radio controller) is optimized for latest radios

custom cooked ROMs update only the operating system (OS) part of the ROM, but not the Radio ROM

other ROM cookers recommend flashing a recent ROM to get th most recent Radio beforehand, but latest Radios can be found around this subforum

Message Issue: Not apear, until appers 4 Messages. Issue reported; "Messagis instead of MEssages". For me NOT ISSUE.
Battery drain: I do not know is a Issue, but today I unplug the phone from the charger at 8:15am and know is 2:08pm and my phone has 55% of battery remaining. In another words in 6 hours it drains 45% of battery power, remember that the 1% dll do not work so well in the higher percentage, in the lower percentage apeers to slow the drain of the battery.For this consider that I allways have connected the data (no 3G, EDGE :S) connection.
AU Key: For me work perfectly.
Lock Issue: In the R2 gtrab versions, I hava that problem, when the phone "week up" and was locked the screen do not showed the unlock slider and I was forced to soft-reset the phone. Whit this ROM the issue was fixed, until the phone "wake ups" from pushing a bottom or a call is received. In resume, the issue is fixed.
CComm, CLaunch & Fav People: I was forced to unistall and install again, because the option in the Today screen were not show. I tried to fix it using Chome Editor, but didn't work, the only solution was to re-install they.
CAnalog Clock: I unistall it, but the reason is that I didn't like it! :P
Mute option (Camera): YEs, this option is not showed.
GPS Problem: Ussing Garmin and Google Maps, it's work.

Personal Issues:
1) The first time I flash, all the Titanium plugins do not work well, or didn't show I re-flahed, and the Canalog start working (but I unistall it, I do not like it, is so big), the rest do not showed and I be forced to re-install it.


For customization I make:
1) Two more Pages in Today Screen, with the Palringo Messenger and a Device Lock option.
2) I Capitalize the Today options using a CAB from Ibrythill. I recomened it, because options like CWeather use Capitalized letter and with this all the options are alike.
3) I Expand the Start menu whit the gtrab No Honeycomb CAB.
4) Some advance Config. Programs
5) Several other licenced programs that I buy (Garmin, Resco Explorer, SKTools, etc.)

And with these the phone is working fine, excelent work Gtrab.

Thank you ZeusII, I have been searching for Advanced Configuration for an hour now, but all I have nanaged to find is one suitable for the Kaiser, Hermies or Trinity? Would these work for the Kovski? i was assuming since it mentioned these specifically that i would need one for the Kovshi, but have not been able to find one.

Also i seem to have quite a problem with the battery life, unplugged the charger at 3am as the battery was full, and by 7am in standby was at 70%. Could it be to do with my phone being an X1a? and my UMTS band being 850?

I think I could do with an updated radio anyway, so i think i may have a go at the R2 version of the Telstra Australia Rom and see if that improves reception, which has never been as good as the Hermies or Kaiser I have has previously. Would obviously want to come back to either Barebones or xpert, as these are beautifully put together, a pleasure to use and an absolute credit to gtrab

One thing I have consistantly noticed now with 3.61 xpert, is when disconecting from USB active sync connection, Wifi turns on and looks to connect? With the short battery life I have needed to connect to my laptop to charge when ever possible, so have been connected quite regularly, and this happens even after a short connection to activesync.

Had my X1 a few months now and tried various ROMs from this site. Must say very impressed!!! Currently trying out the xpert ROM and liking it especially as I also seemed to have the no weather icon problem with the Pure and BB, but this one is absolutely fine.

I've just flashed my ROM and everything went well. Was having a blast with the Touch Flo theme but was then changing some settings and have suddenly LOST the whole Touch Flo Panel.
I've dug around all the settings menus but am unable to restore the Touch Flo panel, all I can get is the standard Today Panel in place of the Touch Flo.

Any ideas as to where I've messed up would be really appreciated.

Oops, ignore me. I've just found out where I've gone wrong.
In Settings -> Today -> Items -> anything other than "Windows Default" will switch off the Touch Flo.
Just in case anyone loses their Touch Flo as well :P

When my phone is locked I am not able to handle incoming calls. Some times there is no call appearance it only rings. Some times i am unable to answer. Most of the times after the call I am not able to see the lock screen. I have to restart ( removing battery )....any help or similar issues while u get call on a screen locked phone ? Please help

this is a problem with the skinned quickgps.

anyways, look closely and you'll see the remaining expiration time (check attach)

Thank you ZeusII, I have been searching for Advanced Configuration for an hour now, but all I have nanaged to find is one suitable for the Kaiser, Hermies or Trinity? Would these work for the Kovski? i was assuming since it mentioned these specifically that i would need one for the Kovshi, but have not been able to find one.

Also i seem to have quite a problem with the battery life, unplugged the charger at 3am as the battery was full, and by 7am in standby was at 70%. Could it be to do with my phone being an X1a? and my UMTS band being 850?

I think I could do with an updated radio anyway, so i think i may have a go at the R2 version of the Telstra Australia Rom and see if that improves reception, which has never been as good as the Hermies or Kaiser I have has previously. Would obviously want to come back to either Barebones or xpert, as these are beautifully put together, a pleasure to use and an absolute credit to gtrab

EvoGlobe, search the threads of each plug in and you can found the solution, always remember that is almost sure that somebody suffer the same problem that you are suffering, :p .But for your help I provided the links to the thread and the number of the post with the solution.

For CWeather, the problem was fixed by giorgosm and basically is that the page of AccuWheater, the internet service of forecasting, changed and you can look for the new file with the correct url in the post # 1077 of this threat http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=481379

And for the CVolume problem, KMFM$ change the CVolume cab to update the motorscrips to work faster and more stable. yes it does help only using it this way for 1 day but don't cexpect too much it still needs to charge every night just don't have to switch battery halfway through the day. i don't have a problem charging when i sleep as some people do just don't like switching the battery unless i'm overusing.

but with the pure upgrade version (14-jun) sometimes the ringing sound goes and when i go to select a ringing tune an error message telling me that "the ringing tune file is currupted or not available", which makes me soft-reset my X1 several times a day and make me lose some calls...

other that that the rom is better that the previous one specially with RAM consuming, but i had to return back to the previous one because of my problem :(

"Installation was unsuccessful. The program or setting cannot be installed because it does not habe sufficient system permission"

The same I got, when I install the "Touch-IT Blackstone Manila Full HD.cab"
I know, TF3D or Manila is sh**, but I love it, to personal my X1 ^^.

I am also experiencing the same battery drain problem as a few others, have had the Pure, BB and Xpert ROMs and find the first 2 give me around 1.5 - 2 days Battery whereas Xpert only gives me 1 day if I am lucky. Also noticed CPU ran at 30 - 40% on Pure and BB but runs nearer to 60% with Xpert. Tried looking to see what was draining but with no solution as yet, removed canalog clock (mainly because I do not like it) with not much joy, think it is something to do with GPS???

I have no problems with windows live over data connection. I use internet profile of vodafone, not the wap one that goes through a proxy.

I have been using BB for about a week. No problems whatsoever. Battery life is perfect. The only issue is that when you scroll contacts in the phone the contact list becomes a mess. But I don't use it anyway...

I had the ff. problems when i first flashed to the eXPERT version:

1. When i press/tap windows device automatically locks then i'm prompted to unlock which i had to turn off my x1
2. When i tried changing themes i was stucked on the status bar of previous theme chosen and only the wallpaper changed
3. APP icons and their names got messed up

When i re-flashed again so far problems were gone and hopefully my device will be stable from now on. Overall great ROM thanks gtrab:)

Removed Clock app, went into system>connections>beam> and deactivated the option to listen for incoming beams.

3. When scrolling through mail - I used to be able to select several items by dragging the sylus over them. This now just scrolls the list up/down. Ideas?

1- WM6.5 is still BET: battery, scrolling thru last calls with hidden keypad in dialer messes the display, new scroll engine can't let multiple select, etc

2- third party pps for TITANIUM are still BETA too (CHome, CWeather, CClock = CBug HAHAHAHA :p)

3- YES Battery drainage can be minimized disabling "listen to incoming beams", also, by disabling "C Analog Clock", so, my suggestion woud be: if you wat more battery life, GO FOR THE BAREBONE !!!

Also, Ethermnind's battery driver has a slight loss of accuracy in the upper range: battery seems to be going down FAST in upper 80-90%'s, but then it seem to last forever when under 30-40%. The last 10% is ETERNAL

I don't care as long as I see 1% increments :D :D

The file ':MSAUTODATACONFIG' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file.

Has anyone got any ideas on how I can correct this and why it is happening?

Experiencing the same problem on PURE. The Messaging bar comes up over the top of TomTom or Memory Map, which is not good. I also wondered whether it was the cooked ROM or a 6.5 issue.

Hi alan,
Just one question: your backup is from a WM6.1 system ?? It won't do over 6.5... imagine backing up your info from Win Vista and tryint to restore such backup over Win 7 !! What a mess, ain't ?? This is the cause of several malfunctions and user problems, sepcially with SMSs and contacts: you are upgrading your OS here, not everything is backwardss compatible...

2 showaco's Titanium Weather 4.2 was causing millions problems... it wass guilty for delaying the XPERT release 2 weeks !!! I couldn't manage to integrate it in a clea way, so I opted for the ole, well tested and working right WVGA version (3.1.2 or 3.1.1 h)

I am sure it will be updated soon by showaco, and thatt's why I made it a CAB to be easily uninstalled and updated when the moment comes

Gtrab, it isn't only with tomtom, tomtom was just an example. It doesn't mater which program, but as soon as messaging starts send/receiving as planned with the schedule. Messaging takes over the phone, it used to be in the background.

Thanks for the replies! No the backup was from one of you earlier WM 6.5 releases (1.23 I think) but was made after I had added serveral mods like the icon pack and the 1% battery meter....

I was wondering wether the sdcerts? had gotten screwed up after the restore cos it didn't happen untill after I did the restore....

only one thing i don't like, is when phone in lock and you turning screen on, lock interface blinking, going to black, and then fading and sliding from the bottom in to top, this taking about a second, but any way, in my opinion it must slide from the bottom, from the beging, and not turn the screen on and then go to black again... i hope you get what am I talking about :o

I have also noticed a few issues,, i've read around but so far there hasnt been a clear answer,, it seems as tho they are wm6.5 bugs and not an actual bug with this particular ROM tho ... but anyways it would be nice if someone could find a suitable fix to it :).

Issues:
1) ringtone delay: the screen lights up and the LEDs start flashing instantly,, but it takes ~ 3 rings from the caller for the vibration & ringtone to start playing ... so its a bit annoying,, altho this only happens when the slide 2 unlock is enabled,, and the phone is locked,, otherwise it rings instantly

2) I had installed the topaz dialer however upon uninstallation I seem to be unable to get it to re-install,, it always says the installation is unsucessfull. Just wondering if there is a workaround since you (gtrab) have experience in this area. < altho this isnt really ROM related

3) when a missed call notification/text message notification is received while the phone is locked,, the notification is displayed over the lock screen, Just wondering if this is happening to anyone else aswell?. after a while it goes away but upon immediate notification, it is displayed on top

4) battery life,, it has been discussed a fair bit tho and just want to confirm that it is related to the OS wm6.5 and not this ROM/any program running in the background

Hello, today I flashed the pure version of the wm 6.5 and loved it, but the phone reception was a lot lower than my r3ao11 rom. I wonder why? Also the phone kept on jumping from the G to the Edge network. Are there any fixes for these problems, especially the reception? Just for experiment's sake, I installed the r3 rom back, and i do get a better reception. Do i need to go into settings and change anything? Otherwise it is a real eye candy:)

Hi Gtrab, I recently confirm a previous issue (sorry not reported in that time).

I think that is WM 6.5 related and not to the ROM, because I suffer this in your previous WM 6.5 ROM, the issue is when you active again the SMS Sent notification bubble (I need it because my provider is not so reliable) and a Confirmation is "poped up" the screen freezes to any reaction and it react like 4 seconds after.

For your knowledge I activated again this pop up using SKTools.

I can live with it, but this is only for your issue record, and continue like this for your excellent contributions.

My only problem with ALL cooked Windows Mobile 6.5 releases that I have tried and also SE's R3AA 6.1 release is that it always says "0 satellites" though it picks them up fine. No other problems found. What problem are you having Gradje? For info, I also use Memory Map 5.1.3 and this does show the sats, and works perfectly.

Having the "Messaging" bar come up on top of programmes - particular pain witth TomTom, But you can touch screen to get TomTom back.

Finally, the phone itself (radio)??? is crap for signal. Most phones on O2 here are full bar, but I normally can't get a signal on the X1.

Hi Gtrab, should have added that the Alarms are also playing the wrong alert tones. I tried to select 3 different ones - they all test play OK - but the original tone from way back when plays everytime - and it is too short and quiet for you to notice it!

I am running the SpB Panel, if that makes any difference.

The previous ROMs I had, had tmail.exe (standard Windows messaging program) already put in exclusive within task manager by them self. This means that as soon as you push to closing button the program would only disappear but still be active in the background. Due to that it wouldn't pop-up as soon as it would start send/receiving as set by the send/receiving schedule.

I solved this to put the program by hand in the exclusive folder of task manager or for example SPB Pocket. What I described with Tomtom was an example and it also solved with this solution.

I'm using an older 6.5 ROM from a few months ago, but the same thing happens to me. What usually fixes it is quitting out of TomTom and going into Google Maps. Once Maps picks up the satellites, you can quit out, launch TomTom again, and it will show the satellite count correctly.

I don't know if it's necessary to quit out of TomTom. You might be able to just background it while running Maps, but I haven't tried that. I don't even bother trying TomTom first anymore -- I just start with Maps to get the location fix before going to TomTom. A bit of a pain, but it seems to be a usable workaround.

I used to have WM 6.1 with the latest radio on my X1. Standby was like 3 days.
Tried your 3.61 xpert without updating the radio again 2 days ago. Now standby is like 7 hours and the battery is empty. I hope it's just me :D

Edit: did some testing today. turned off the radio and still losing about 10% battery per hour in standby

Edit 2: after some softresets it seemed to be back to normal now

Wow I just downloaded the xpert rom and it is unbelievable fast and precise. It has just the tools that I need and use. Just one thing that I'm wondering if anybody, while the phone starts up in the Halo background, is getting a message ".mscr and .mortrun extensions registry. Please run any .mscr1.mortrun file or read manual?"

I've noticed that with the BB ROM you have the option to map four more hardware keys in start>settings>personal>buttons. However, you can't tell which is which button, and it won't let you leave them as the default 'context menu'. Any guidance on this?

Somehow xpert version is very battery thirsty. Try the BARE version and install whatever you need only. Don't install analogclock if you don't need it because it will kill the battery. I hope this help!

What is the SMS bug? I only have the problem, that if I restore my PIM backup I have to open the SMS folder and see the SMS coming after each other, in old builds, they were immediately there...

But nice to hear 6.5 is becoming final soon, let's see if the battery bug is still there, I can't understand why it is there since 1000 builds :D

found a new little issue on the ROM
using the BB one

after some time of use - the "ok" hard key loses it's ability to minimise a program when pressed. resolved after a soft reset.
at first i thought my hardware button was faulty - but worked fine after soft reset, happened 3 times already...

but other than that - i can run the ROM without soft reset for days!

I'm using Barebone with the 1.16 radio, the internet can be connected as well.
Try to connect it manually:
- Start > Settings > Connections > Manage existing connections
- Tap & hold the provider setting in the list & tap connect
