Hi everybody, ive been cooking roms for a couple months now, thought i would share some of my work with ya. This is my first public release rom, im sure there are some bugs...just let me know what they are and ill do my best to try and fix them. Thanks to Joshkoss, Anryl, Ervius, Bepe, Medkid, Utak3r, Abusalza, Mbarvarian, Stylez, and pretty much everybody at XDA for giving me the resources to learn and the tools to use. Dude, niiiice first effort. Flashed great, loaded perfectly. Like the inclusion of stylez' black dialer and his service icon pack. Loaded quick menu and WKtask which I load on all the roms I use, Both work great. Camera and album work. SMS works as well as all my email accounts ( not at first, had to disable proxy )

Customized my M2D with M2DC ( not that your theme isn't cool ) I just like mine.
Just one freeze, had 3 apps running and went to send an SMS, don't think it was your rom, just an app conflict. Not the quickest out there, but decently fast and very usable. Will have no quams about keeping it on for a while, seems to be very dependable.

Again nice effort and welcome to the kaiser chef ranks ( hope to join you soon, am trying to secure a test phone .)

Not to worry , I am not a speed kinda guy. I am more a " lowrider " type get me there with style and full features. I am not a " hotrod " type. It does not make my day to have something work 1 second faster. I search out full featured roms with decent speed, and this rom suits me fine.


EDIT Ok, played a little more with it last night, and had three more random freezes, one while setting the clock, another while moving files with File Explorer and another while setting up something else, I forget exactly.

Other things, are cannot select more than one item at a time in File Explorer. and could not launch I E from the M2D tab or from the browser soft key.

This could all just be a bad flash, I will reflash later on this afternoon and try again.

I'm liking this rom for a variety of reasons including the nice dialer and phone canvas customizations, and the status icons. It's pretty quick and has a nice balance of included apps.

Two issues I could use some help with are:
1) The music tab seems to open wmplayer which gives an error. Is there a version of audio manager that is compatible? I tried the one included in M2D update 20 which is version 2_0_18193326_0. Is it just a registry tweak that's needed or do I need a different version of Audio Manager?

2) Album doesn't seem to have full functionality. If I tap a photo from the photo tab, I see the photo, but I can't rotate, zoom, or go to the next photo. Is there another version of album that will remedy this?

thanks for the report edifish :) i dont use much on my phone besides text, email, and of course the phone lol, so ive not tried the album or wm player. i am going to release a new version soon, and i will address these issues when getting the new version ready. im glad you like the rom!

not much would be the same if it was 6.5 and without m2d lol...but yeah i will make a light version without m2d :D i dont have a 6.5 kitchen yet, im trying to mainly work on this rom for now. new version will be out soon testing now.

update: Audio Manager seems to be working now. Not really sure how or why, but after running clean temp app, it started working.:o

Still looking for a solution to the album issue though. Can't wait to see what the TPC's cooking!:D

Hi everybody, I am a Noob (I guess that stands for Newbee) here and also with these smartphones, but would like to compliment twopumpchump on this great job. I have been playing with is since yesterday, flashed it twice both time the installation went flawlessly and have not experienced any freezes or hic-ups etc. I prefer it over WM 6.5 which I removed to install this because my GPS software “NAV N GO iGO 8” was not working on WM 6.5.

I would like to say a couple of things:
1: I could not find any “Voice speed dial” application on this one as it is very important for a visually impaired person like me, and
2: My “NAV N GO iGO 8” software is not working on this one either. When trying to launch it the disk (pocket PC version of the hour glass) comes up then fades away and nothing happens. I have tried everything imaginable (to me), soft/hard reset, uninstall/reinstall of the software and reflashed the ROM but nothing seems to be working. GPS hardware is working, tested with google maps.

Any suggestions?

Also it would be nice to see some Accessibility options.

1--search forum for msvc or cyberon voice you will find the .cab you need for voice speed dial.



2----what version is your IGO 8? also what version of windows mobile were you using when the IGO 8 did work? what im thinking is that you need a newer version of IGO for it to work with wm 6.1. try searching this issue also i know there are some threads on this as well i checked.

Yea, it seems real fast and stable, I haven't had any issues at all so far. The only things I've noticed are an icon under settings>system that has no title and does nothing when selected, and there are 2 power icons in system folder. They don't affect the ROM so not really an issue. I'll try your loaded version when you release it, it sounds great. :D

Thank you for your ROM. I flashed this ROM. It has some problems as follow:

As far as the keyboard back light goes, do the following. Go to 'Start >Settings >Personal >Buttons', select the tab for backlight and uncheck 'Enable keyboard backlight auto sensor'. Also if you want to increase the time the keyboard backlight is on, use Advanced Config there is an option to set the keyboard backlight to a higher value (I always set mine to 1 minute).

Your other 2 questions I do not have any personal experience with so I don't know. Sorry :confused:

Great ROM, thanks for making and ahring it!!!

1. I can confirm that the keyboard light does not work properly. It indeed turns off after about 30 seconds and does not come back on when I use the keyboard.
-- OOPS, just read the SMSparks comment.... My fault, not an error apparently --
2. Also, when pressing the voice dialing button, it produces a shortcut target error; "error opening the shortcut or locating the target filename".
3. There are 2 'power' shortcuts in the settings menu. They appear to be and do the same

Would be great if things like these can be mended in next release(s), since this promises to be a great ROM-series!!

its not a bad flash, the settings shortcuts are a lil messed up and i will have that fixed by next release....let me know if you have any additional problems will try to fix them too.

Either set up fake server or add to task manager exceptions as it doesn't effect resources or battery.

I installed HTC Home 2.1 but when I rotate screen with HTC Home, It freezs. please help me, I don't like M2D and I prefer HTC Home.

Looks Good. Didn't have time last night to flash Extreme, so flashed this morning, Did you know you have an orphaned icon and two power icons ?:D ( just kidding )

You still didn't add the music tab, don't you like music ?:) No biggie, added it and it sees and plays all my music ( fixed ) Internet tab launches Opera ( fixed )
Everything smooth so far, no freezes.

3g isnt available in my area, so i have always used Opal dialer...search the forum there are lots of 3g dialers out there that should work. as far as losing the task bar icons, try installing your dialer then install this (http://m-s-j.net/TPC/TPC_TASKBAR_ICONS.cab) hopefully that will do the trick!

maybe someone else here can help you with changing the date, dont believe its a rom issue and i am currently flashing new FIXED version so i cant try it on my phone sorry. thanks for the feedback!!!

With both those programs I'm sure it comes down to proper drivers. Unless a chef is planning to support those programs in there cooked ROM you probably won't find many custom ROM's that will work for you. I know that's not the answer you're looking for, but that's my best guess as to why you're having problems. Good luck to you....

ok first off, you need to specify which version of software you are using when asking for help. second, you need to search to see if others have had the same problem and their possible solution before you blame it on a particular rom. if you google "card export" you will see that the older version is not compatable with wm 6.1...you have to have this.

TPC, abusalza had the same issue with Card Expert not working on Ultimate V1 and he fixed it for V2, Im sure that he will share the fix with you.

Being that they are the same build 21068. Why does the naked rom have less program memory than the V1 loaded? I was able to disable touchflo and get more ram from the V1 loaded than the naked.

i learned a new trick after i made naked version :cool: that gave it more memory :) i am going to update both versions either tonight or tomorrow with fixes for the minor problems reported so far and a few other improvements. thanks for trying my rom!

Actually it fairly flew! VERY snappy!! I thought at one point that maybe it was too fast for the bluetooth to get a lock!! LOL

2----what version is your IGO 8? also what version of windows mobile were you using when the IGO 8 did work? what im thinking is that you need a newer version of IGO for it to work with wm 6.1. try searching this issue also i know there are some threads on this as well i checked.

Over all I found your ROMs very stable and pretty fast I would prefer them on the HTC release of WM6.1 or other (non HTC) WM6.5 on my Kaiser.
Today I tried TPCEXTREMEV1LOADED and found it to be even better then your previous releases. I noted above a couple of points that I found and ya I was kind of hoping that you would add “Voice speed dial” but did not find it in the new release, is that a possiblity in the future? As I was unable to find any .cab app for the “Voice speed dial” I am sure they are there somewhere in the threads, its just that I couldn’t find them. What I likes most from what I have seen so far is the way your M2D works and look. I added M2DC and am able to enjoy the full benefits of your M2D (ya :) I have learned quite a lot in the last 5 days thanks to some very smart guys at xda-developers who have taken the time and put efferts to put togather all those vikis and threads). Ya one more thing: the globe on the weather tab is almost over the temprature digits some times making it harder to see them.

i use tomtom7 and it works GREAT with this rom, as well as google maps....and the spl and radio in my sig. im not sure about the igo thing, but must be something to do with that particular software? because i can get gps signal in my living room fast. TPCEXTREMEV1LOADED is my latest release, untill tonight when i release v2 :) all new bluetooth(hope it works), new mp3 trimmer ported from rhodium by wapvirus, M2DC included in Accessories folder, Device Update, etc......and more speed :cool: thanks for telling me about the m2d weather problem, i have been flashing so much i havent even put a city in to test lol...will begin to work on this now. try to search i guess about your igo see if others are having the same problem with particular builds. thanks for testing my rom, if i can find a solution to your problem i will let you know.

i dont think a cab can fix bluetooth because i think the problem is the way i compressed the exe lol....so i just put in new uncompressed bluetooth pkgs cross your fingers :confused: v2 is gonna be soooo much better you guys :D

I flashed this ROM and tested iGO8; Nav-n-Go and it DOES work fine. So I guess you are having other issues with your device. Your issue is not affected by this ROM. Flash an OEM, then flash this ROM and install iGO Nav and you will have it running and very smoothly I might add.

This ROM is very stable. Not the fastest out there but close to it. The two most important things in a ROM are stability and speed. This ROM has both. With some minor tweaks, this ROM will be outstanding.

More speed :) yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, more speed is always good however I totally agree with denco7 and I quote him from his message # 14 of this thread “I am not a speed kinda guy. I am more a " lowrider " type get me there with style and full features……….” (I couldn't have said it better) Speed is good, but speed without features: eeeeeeeaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh. I don’t know.

About iGO what baffles me is that one day it was working with HTC Release WM 6.1 and now when I come back to it after all that flashing and reflashings the application installs but just doesn’t want to launch :(. But don’t worry about it, I will find some solution.

Is it possible to include “Voice speed dial” in your new release? I will really appreciate that. I will also test out the Bluetooth and let you know how it works. I will start playing with the camera and mp3 once I get an additional battery and at least 8GB micro SD, right now I got 4GB and have put lots of my CBTs on them and utilize my commuting time for it.

It just occurred to me that it could be an SPL issue, either it was not flashed properly or creating a software conflict, as now when I think of it my trouble started after I flashed SPL now flashing it with SPL: 3.34 Dave Shaw, something that I should done much earlier. I never though that this ROM was responsible for problem.

I totally agree that this ROM is very good and stable, I didn’t had any freezes and the speed is very good also, and has so many cool features and more coming :) that’s why I prefer it over WM 6.5

thanks asfoor, i value your opinion and i really do appreciate the compliment. so ok, v1 was stable but lacked a lil tweaking and a lil more speed right? here are screenshots of spb benchmark from both v1 and soon released v2...i used 101 RAM on both for testing reasons am testing 107 RAM now :cool: cant wait to let you guys try this out, seems like its gonna be pretty decent ;)

You've got me here, in front of my pc, constantly refreshing the page, eagerly awaiting..... V2!!! Feels a lil like Christmas!!! LOL!!!
Its been a while since I flashed a new rom (was running eos4888 FiRe) but tried a few over the weekend and came across yours. Was totally blown away with how quick and responsive it was, made me look at my ailling kaiser differently!! (May be that planned purchase of a Touch HD can go on hold for a while!!)

But now I know what you've been doing, I want more!! So please, help a guy out, and let him end this obsessive page-refreshing, and lemme know when this baby is due???

OK.. flashed, HR, then started to setup.

Duplicate "Device Information" in Settings\System - both work :)
Bluetooth pairing worked - and after disconnecting, reconnecting, editing and matching the name to the connected device name (and turning off BT and my device and then turning both back on) IT WORKS! Duplicate Car Kit, Timeout and Profiles tabs under Comm Manager, Settings, Bluetooth. (v1 was the same). Tried playing music via M2D Music Tab - SUCCESS! AD2P works!! Used BT Headset (Motorola S9 HD) for AVRP - SUCCESS!! Can move forward and backwards in tracks and pause/play. :) Attempted to use phone - dialing digits come over BT but when call connects it is only on handset. Replaced dialer with DCxI's Iphone Dialer Black and soft reset. After SR, no BT displayed in taskbar but blue LED blinking. Performed Disconnect and Connect - get the busy curser and it never comes back. SR and then turned off my BT headset. After reset, went into Settings\Bluetooth and my device was shown as connected! Deleted device and re paired. Connected right off the bat and channeled sound via BT. Still no BT icon in task bar.... One more SR to test: No beep in headset to show connection. No BT icon in taskbar. Went in to Settings, Bluetooth and click on my headset and click refresh. Went to music tab and hit play - sound coming out of handset. Hit Track up on my headset and wallah! Next track loaded and music transferred to headset!! definitely some BT weirdness here.

Other things: Programs\Connections is empty! Programs\Office Mobile is empty! Data connection good. PIM Backup restoring all my stuff. Everything else looked good. I'll play some more after the restore.

read my post up there about the empty folders, and im just glad that bluetooth is semi-working lol. there is definately something not right with the bluetooth though sounds like so i will start to work on fixed version tomorrow. can you tell much difference in the speed from v1?

To be honest, I think I'm slowing down in my old age... v1 was fast as hell and I know v2 is fast as hell too... to compare them would be like comparing a ferrari with a ducati.. both fast as hell when you're driving it :)

I know I managed to knock out a lot of install/SR/Config stuff really quickly (and managed to get in a few hands of Astraware Solitaire in! LOL)

Good luck on the Bluetooth. I wish I knew more of the internals stuff so I could help... I'm just a guy who loves to tinker (you should see my Linux Servers I build and manage at my job! LOL) Thanks for all your hard work for us poor shleps who are damn lucky we're not sitting at a C:\> on our phones!!! hmmm... then again, that might be fun! :D

yes sorry to say but they all have a bluetooth problem right now :( i dont use earpiece so i didnt know untill i released. am working on fix now.

yeah i made this id back when i first got my kaiser....it was my first pda phone and i wanted to download some apps from here for it. anyways i just made the id for a joke to lurk and get cool stuff for my phone, little did i know i would get hooked on this stuff lol and be doin this. so now you know the story behind my id :D

Your V2 is very good and seems to be working a shade faster then your previous versions, I like it. Definitely a few steps further in the right direction from your previous versions, and I had already mentioned about your previous version that it is better then everything that I have seen and I prefer it over VM 6.5. Congratulations.

I did some checking and here is what I found so far, some of them have already been discussed:
1: Time on the received text messages seems to be 4 hours behind even though the time on my device is set correctly and the sender is also in the same time zone.
2: In media player jogwheel works as a rewind/fast forward button and not as volume controller and also the max volume seems to be lower.
3: 2 icons for “device information” in Settings and both work,
4: “Connections” folder/icon in Programs empty,
5: duplicate “Profile” tabs at the bottom of settings\bluetooth, both work
6: “Screen Writer” in Programs\Accessories does not launch,
7: The globe in the weather tab is still almost over the temperature digits, I added 4 locations and it’s the same with all of them but works fine, updates with my wi-fi pretty swiftly.

And, you know about the Bluetooth, I was able to pair it but doesn’t connect and no sound at all, tried removing and re-adding with soft reset, but couldn’t get any functionality out of it. Also my iGO still not launching, :( don't worry, its my luck, I will have to find some other solution for it. Yesterday I flashed my hard SPL to 3.34 Dave Shaw, that didn't work either.

I will let you know if I find anything else worth reporting. Over all great creation.

you mean in settings menu, there are 2 bluetooth icons? well here (http://m-s-j.net/TPC/TPCALLNEWBT.rar) is all dlls from whole rom that said bluetooth on them replaced and its only listed once in settings menu.....maybe this one will work! cross your fingers

I hate to be the barer of the bad new, but its still the same, the device pairs but does not connect and no sound, never even asked for the security code, I thought that was unusual and may be it was cooked that way, also there is still 2 profile tabs in setting\connections\bluetooth

If you have time, read the thread. It was hell, LOL, I love this phone, but I was inches away from tossing it, what good is a phone if you can't get phone calls. I still don't know why it was only our phones, but it definitely had to do with 6.1 and MSVC.

I had the freeze issues as well. Had them with rezas V3 too. Same with wmp not working. I think its all tied into the ram hack. Havent searched the other threads from the roms using it but seems to be a comon issue so far :confused:

Sorry man, still freezing on me. A couple more times today, once at a very inopportune time.

Also sometimes the phone will not sleep using the side button, I push it and nothing happens, but then the phone will sleep by itself.

+1 for the normal ram version. Same thing reza was saying too :D I think it will be alot more stable without it. For now anyhow. Once they get the bugs worked outta the ram hack it will be good. Just dont think its ready for prime time yet :)

I dont know if this has been brought up or not. But I really likethis ROM. It is def. one of the better one out there. But one problem I have is, that sometimes when I am surfing the web. With the Opra that is on the ROM. Sometimes when I click links my phone will turn off and rest. Do you have any iinput on this?

File transfer works like a charm. No issues on test device as of yet. It seems to be a very good 6.1 rom.

ok i made a kitchen for 6.1 20142(anryls port) and used mbarvarians jade pkgs he posted awhile back....this kitchen will make a stock-like htc rom but will be 21042 build :) add your own pkgs or delete to customize how you want it. also this kitchen uses ltx compression thanks to ivanmj. i will release some kitchens of my roms one day not sure when.

Yea, that's an older version. The current version with those fixes and BT working is the v3 extreme loaded. TPC is going to put out a lite version of it probably tomorrow. :)

Would you consider leaving Opera in? I think it has no incompatibility with Mobile Shell. After all, it seems that the problem with the soft resets and opera are not related with Mobile Shell, but with super ram roms..

hmm...gps worked for me when i tested. try using htc gps tool to get lock first then run google maps, should work then :)

My GPS lock is super fast in this ROM, even indoors! You can see from my Sig. what I use, looks like your using the same Radio, try another Radio. I'll bet you get better results after the switch. :eek:

For the Rhodium menu (The one that pops up from the bottom that generally annoys the hell out of me):

Edit the registry with your fave reg editor (I use Total Commander's built-in)
HKLM\System\GWE\Menu\CUIHandler and change it from a "1" to a "0"

Wait a few minutes and SR... wallah, no more Rhodium.
Oh, and another thing (especially for those that like to replace the top icons) - turn off the full screen volume thing by doing this:
FIRST shut off the System Status screen from Settings/System/TouchFlo (uncheck Show System Status) THEN
Start a Task Manager that shows Services. Find HTCVolume and click the stop button. Then click and hold for a popup menu and select Disable.
Wait a minute or so then SR. wallah, now when you click the speaker you get the standard volume popup instead of the damn full screen thing... now you can install the Prophet Taskbar icons or whatever you use... for some reason that service keeps the icons from going on properly....

Okay, Here is the result for 3.1 Lite.

1. BT, I can able to do the initial setup with my Hands Free device, but I am unable to connect it always getting an error message.

2. M2DC shortcut eventhough the program has been removed on the lite version.

Overall ROM is good and fast

Or since AE Button Plus is included make a link from VoluPOP.exe in the Windows Directory in Start Menu\Programs and map it to a long press "I use internet long but could be any" and hide the VoluPOP.lnk with Total Commander :)
AE Button Plus is an amazing program make use of it as you will hardly ever have to venture into Start Menu ;)

Hi,

I just flashed the TPC Extreme V3.1 Lite(no manilla) version of your rom and i am stunned by the speed. In your startpost you asked us to report any bugs... Well i found a few.. i think...

After clicking around in this version i noticed the following:
1. start\settings\system\File Dialog Changer

tick the "Exchange Standard File Dialog" box an then "Add". The next page has garbled textboxes.

2. Most of the context menus entries show only part of the text. They are cut off by "..." I think there is room for more characters. Maybe not use bold characters?

3. In accessories there is a M2DC link which is not needed.

4. when i do a hard reset i see the PDA Ultimate bootsceen.. I think you deserve your own.. Your rom is great and has potential..
