Grazzie!
Great review!
I wish if only TG01 had a physical keyboard...
But more Tosh devices are announced for the end of the year!:

OMG!!!! This phone has to be insanely huge!!! I mean the HD is pretty big, but the Tosh is soo much bigger than it!!! Sure its slim, but I wouldnt be surprised if it dint fit into my pocket because of its insane wideness and height!

It is indee dhuge - but also MUCh better than the HD, at least CPU power-wise. (See my MWC benchmarks.)

Nice Vid Review!
Hey, can you give us an early idea of how much of an improvement the processor is performancewise?

Quite a lot, at least when it comes to H.264 decoding. See my benchmarks published back in February.

We have tried to install TF3D :

It will need some adjustments but i think it will work if cooked into a ROM :D
But with SPB Shell 3.0 Toshiba fly :)

Personally, I'm waiting for the TG02 - it'll be equipped with capacitive screen. (Currently, I only browse the Web on the iPhone 3G and have completely dumped Windows Mobile in this respect because of the capacitive screen.)

I agree with you having had an iPhone some time ago.

Hmm, i thought the K01 was the one with a capacitive screen . . . and the TG02 was the one with a water resistant design . . . I may be wrong though.

According to prelim specs on PDAdb.net, the TG02 & KL01 are transflective TFT LCD...

Hi,
Excellent Vids. Thanks.
Compared to the HD, it looks huge. But looking at the figures, its like a very slim XDA Universal (and I used to carry that in my pocket).
Can you reach/tap all the screen areas just one handed ?
Would be great if you have a chance to do more testing of camera (inc. video). this looks like the main week point to me (and size). I'm sure they could have got away with fitting an LED with that camera...
Also, how about some pocketable tests. Slip into trouser pocket/Jeans Pocket, Shirt Pocket etc.
Some shots of rear with cover off and battery including hpw slim would be great (easy to carry a spare in the wallet?)
Finally, how useable is the touch screen. Some videos show it very unresponsive. Is that just because they are using the fingerpads rather than finger tips or is there a sensitivity issue with the screen ?
Thanks again (even if you can't answer all the questions...)
By the way, I found the iPhone screen resolution too limited for web browsing.

Sorry but i had to give it back in short time :(
With one hand is very difficult to manage it.
The camera is enough good, above all the photos, videos aren't too bad.
In my back pocket jeans it juts for a 1 cm.
Touchscreen is normal but we have to remember thet it was a prototype and it will surely improve.

Thanks for the feedback. Would not dream of putting it in back pocket...
I think I'll probably settle on getting the TG01. Subject to:
Good final reviews
Assurance of WinMo 6.5 upgrade upgrade route
Comes out (actually able to buy in the officially in UK) by End June.
Priced well (£ Exchange rate is recovering a little, so may help).
I should be able to live with:
The 'OK' camera
Large form factor.
The only other phone that is seriously tempting me is the Omnia HD.
Pros:
Amazing Camera (HD recording)
Capacitive Touch Screen (better sensitivity, more durable, but not all Pros. e.g. less precise, no gloves)
Smaller Package
OLED screen
Cons:
OS is not as 'customisable' or strongly supported (on Samsung at least).
Not intended to be hacked etc. the way WinMo is. I like Symbian, but not as much fun for a techie (if that makes sense)
Screen Res only 640 x 360 (still better than IPhone).
If they could just combine best of both...In fact, Samsung probably could (on either OS). Not sure why they didn't.
The other wild card I guess would be iPhone v3 (hardware not just OS). But that's probably several months away after actual announcement. And then probably locked to contract etc.
**What did you make of the screen?**
Compared to say Omnia HD (OLED) or iPhone in terms of screen toughness and colour/brightness etc. This Regza thing, is it marketing or does it really make the screen 'stand out'.
Thanks,
Zuber

OmniaHD is really impressing  but i like too much WM, i cannot stay 1 week without changing ROM or interface :D
For photos and videos i've my Panasonic Lumix :D

Yeah, I'm stuck between the HD and the TG01, it will all come down to the price and the release date, I am going to the UK in mid-June and leaving July 15, hope both are out by then!

Looks like the Omnia HD is expected to be available from around 15th/18th May.
I've been watching some youtubes on both the Toshiba and the Samsung. Though I love the Photo/Video capability of the Samsung, it's not getting me excited for some reason.
Bought the wife a Nokia 5800. It's a great phone and fantastic value. But don't think having the same screen res on a much bigger screen will do it for me.
Unless the Toshiba launch drags out, costs too much or it has some flaws in the final version (screen sensitivity, brightness etc.) I think I'm firmly in the TG01 camp, at least till the TG02.
Would love it if they could actually make it water resistant rather than just splash proof and put a decent flash on it. A good qulity 3.2 MegaPix lense is fine if you have enough lighting. Would like VGA video recording though.
