iPhone Killer Splashscreen


i created a Splashscreen for my diamond so i thought id share it with you guys :)

All credit goes to Lucchini for creating the original image, i just edited it slightly and made it in to a flashable file!!

Note: This is a replacement for the initial splahscreen when you switch on your handset not the HtC animation or the windows loading screen, Just flash the .nbh file with the custom ruu in the zip :)

Hi long time reader and not many posts.

Im a bit unsure of this i clicked on the RUU installer and all I get is a grey screen with a percent bar on it that doesnt move. Is this normal and how do I stop it? I realise that Im a bit green on this as I thought it would be as easy as installing a CAB file.

Ok it shot up a error after about 5 mins and I was able to get it back.

yes its possible .
the best way is rename the gif to animated.gif and put it in your windows folder with total commander, when it ask you to overwrite ...do it and it should work now.
when total commander not ask to overwrite go to step 2 and install the tweak program advanced configuration, start it go to HTC animation/Startup Gif file rename to \Windows\animated.gif.
done.

For all the people that have pm'd me askin how to make your own spash here you go :)


Instructions:


1) take any image 480x640 and covert it to a 24bit .bmp image, you can do this easy by opening it in ms paint & going to save as, just pick 24bit bmp from the list.

2) now right click on the image and cut & past it in the splash tools folder

3) open the folder calledSplash-RSB Converter and run the program called rsbbmp, click on add files and pick the .bmp you just copied to the spash tools folder, click on convert, this will create a .rsb file.

4) now in thast same folder Splash-RSB Converter run the program called Splash-RSB Converter, choose the option that says vga, in the next box choose the rsb file you crated b4, click ok and then choose a filename, this will create a .nb file

5) now you need to patch the nb file, copy the nb file you just created into the patch splash folder, open a command prompt, and use the cd command to navigate to patchsplash folder and use the following command to patch the splash

eg:

pactchspash.exe D splash.nb splash2.nb

so you always type in patchsplash.exe D, The 2nd 2 commands are the name of the spash you just coppied to the folder and what you want the file to be called after it is patched!!

6) now copy the patched nb file (in our case this would be called splash2.nb) into the folder called NBHUTIL, and run the program called NBHUtil, now in the target device box choose diamond, another box now pops up on the right, click on the box next to spash and pick the nb file you just copied to this folder, then just click build NBH, a command prompt should open for a sec then create a nbh file!!

thats it just use a custom ruu to flash the splash to your handset :)

no a hard reset wont restore the original spash! it will only replace the animation, sound and windows loading screen, just find the original htc spash and flash it back if u need to return your handset :cool:

Im back on xp everything works nicely with that :D ive not tried that one, im using makk's new rom its quite impressive :D

hi made some cabs, not tested them but should work.
can be uninstalled.
edit: animated not working for me cos i aint got 1,
so if you have a animated gif already these should work.
edit2: the two with 2 on the end are for people with no animated gifs.
tested working but loads slower........
wish i didnt add splash..........:(

Not that I go around fishing for copmliments or anything (ok, maybe a bit), but it bugs me a little that credit for the iphone killer image goes to somebody else...

It's quite alright mate, honest mistake I'm sure. Just found out it's been miscredited a lot of other places too. Goes to show I made something people actually like!
