This file has a .nbh extension. How do I use this? With previous roms, they run like an .exe.

This file has a .nbh extension. How do I use this? With previous roms, they run like an .exe.

Two ways

Sd method : Easy Way
Place the nbh file on the root of the sd card.
Rename that file to TITAIMG.nbh
Enter bootloader. (power, camera and reset)
When grey screen comes up follow directions.

Ruu method
Place the nbh file in a Ruu folder
Rename that file to RUU_signed.nbh
Establish active sync with pc
Run the rom update utility in the RUU folder

Here is a RUU IF you need one http://www.4shared.com/file/104207184/29b82dd4/BuildOS_RUU.html

Hard Reset after both methods.

Best 6.5 ROM package for the Titan yet! Well done! One question, though. Am I the only fool to disable Titanium? I was wondering if removing certain startup files for Titanium will free up memory...

The wifi in clock panel has been fixed, also rearranged stuff a bit on that panel. The task manager issue brought up earlier is not an issue; it's all about disabling that same function in QuickMenu options. You have to turn off X-button of screen setting AND "ok" key to close program.

1. Were you running in high memory mode?
2. Did you make sure no programs were running and not being shut down completely under task manager.
With those two done I float around 18 -19 mb.

Also for those out there that are avid camera users. The 6.5 roms are not for you.

Am going back to 6.1 as well not just because of memory, but also the lag of response from the phone.

(first let me say I'm not trying to thread hijack Justpctech here)

Am going back to 6.1 as well not just because of memory, but also the lag of response from the phone.

Thats got to be wrong (for the previous post with only 8-10meg free on 6.5. Not sure if a app you have is leaking but mine on a fresh boot has 28340 KB Free memory.

Granting over time it will leak down but once I close everything and run Oxios Hibernate it bounces back up to ~20MB free.

As far as what I'm running I built my own ROM via the kitchen from PPCKitchen.org

I tried to keep it minimal so I can add/remove things down the road without having to recook the whole thing.

Some things I did include were basically:
Music ID
The MSN Widgets (Money, Weather)
Office Mobile
Omnia D3D driver
Nuekernal (currently running in High mem mode with camera disabled with 4MB page pool)
PocketRAR
Oxios memory tool
Total Commander
TV Guide
and Opera (I think that was part of my base anyways)

Anyways just saying if you haven't try getting the kitchen and cooking your own. You might be able to getting it running better than you think :)

That is exactly right. This low memory that everyone is talking about "I don't understand" It is not the roms fault. I have never had that issue with this rom or any of the roms that I cooked myself.
It has to be an app. that was installed, not shutting down programs properly, not running in high memory mode, and not using oxios.
I have heard this same thing on some of the other roms out there and have tried them all. No memory problem like that which is stated. One of the builds over at ppcgeeks that bbsandkm has (a 21222 build) I had 26mb free.

Try adding apps one at a time to see if one of them is causing the issue. And if it is then post it so that we will know. The others are easy to check.
THis rom does have a little less than available then most of the other 6.5, but the others are more bare bones.

With this rom after doing the things mentioned I am up to about 19mb free.
I hope this helps. :)

First post has been updated with a link to a 21222 build. If you had memory issues in 21501 then you will definetly have them in 21222.

On this 21501 build I am now getting 22.5mb
On this 21222 build I am getting 16mb working on getting more.

These are after running oxios.

Some things that I have done to get more memory.
Disable music plugin(chome editor)
Disable picture plugin(chome editor)
diable voice command

THat is all on 21501 although plugins did not release a whole lot but some.

How do you guys run it in low memory mode? I don't always use the camera and wouldn't mind the extra ram. Currently when I boot it says high memory mode camera enabled. Just wondering if I'm missing out on pressing something or not. Also I haven't used the kitchen. I installed this at work and wanted more time to tinker with the kitchen at home. Thanks a mill guys!

When It boots it either says high memory mode camera disabled or Low memory mode camera enabled.

Goto start\settings\system\kernel
Under the kernel you will have an option to select high or low mode.

Select high to diable camera and have more mem. It should reboot after you close.

Provided that you have unlocked your phone. Look at post #4 in this thread.

If you have not unlocked your phone then you need to read this.

When you read the tutorials you will find how to flash via sd card. 8gig will not work. The bootloader will not recognize.

It must be 2gigs or less. I use a 512mb just for flashing. It is all in the links that I gave you. And that card must be formatted FAT32.

Edit: I misread your post. Yes it can be installed from pc. That is the Ruu method.

I installed 6.5 but messaging kept locking up anytime I went to it. I could type out a few letters then it would lock up in threaded viewing mode. I also tried just sending a message like when it kinda looks like an email. this let me type the entire msg but locked up when I hit send but the msg never made it out. I thought it might be from "my phoine" syncing all my past msgs but I hard reset and it was still locking up. Although I did manage to send one right after I first installed. Also the titanium today screen scroll thing would get all stretched out in landscape mode. So i went back to 6.1 dcd 4.1.2

What were the extra cabs? I am on sprint also and I will flash my second phone this evening. I have had no msg issues so it might be one of the cabs.
Also were you in high memory mode? Post your steps and I will try and duplicate. Will be working most of the day so I will do this in the evening.
In the mean time try again, but don't install the extra cabs and see what happens. YOu can always add them cabs later. They are in extended rom and on sd card anyway.

Hi MattSM,

Saw you recommended this rom and have flashed it and after some tweaking, and finally sussing the weather tab, i'm starting to really enjoy the rom! Nice compilation by JustPCTech.

This was my first foray into 6.5 and it's a great one at that too.

Will keep your thread handy along with JustPCTech's on PPCKitchen.org.

Thanks Damager,
I have been running since release and very happy with the build.
Well organized rom as well.

I have had my first problem yesterday. The problem was not with the rom, it was in the weather panel. It was working great, the radar and all.
I made the mistake of reseting phone while weather was doing its update on the radar, and it has effected the radar part of the weather panel. Radar gives error now (I have exhausted my efforts) . I know where to go from here.

Great, unbelievable rom! 2 Questions: 1. If I flash from memory card, can I select which programs I want to install? 2. Since installing I have not been able to get GPS working, I have the stock radio 3.37.75 VZW. I was able to get locks with both reg GPS and aGPS with MR1 ROM and Valhalla and Telus gps fix. Anyone else with this setup able to get locks, or will I need to upgrade my radio?

1. Not sure if you are talking about tier autoinstall(can not remember if it was included)
If it was included then tier allows selection of cabs from extended rom or sd card on initial flash of ruu method or sd method or on a hard reset,
but you should know the answer according to question #2(since installing)

2.I would think it should still work, but I would upgrade radio to the latest.
Any verizon users may want to reply on any gps issues.

Regarding question 1, I used the RUU method, but I saw some posts about issues with memory. Some replies to that were to pick certain cabs to install to figure out what is causing memory drain. So I am just trying to find out how I can pick what cabs to install when flashing the device without using a kitchen.

No 4mb free memory is not normal. Have you read this whole thread about memory issues?

I had quickly, but had to leave for a couple days when I posted that. I just changed it to high mem mode and disabled two chrome panels. At boot I now have 17.71 MB free. That's much better. I'll pay attention and see if it leaks t all.

Also kind of wierd and I didn't see this mentioned, but the first night I went to bed with ~90% battery charge and by morning the phone had turned itself off when it got all the way down to ~6%. There was nothing running that I could see besides ActiveSync & Outlook in the background. It only did it that once so far, I'll keep an eye out for it again.

Also goto start\settings\personal\voice command and uncheck enable voice command (since it does not work well anyway)

Also goto start\settings\system\kernel and under the pagepool tab select custom with a 4mb

There will be even more memory available.

Some of these have the tier autoinstall and some don't. I do know that the one I am running (Sprint 21501) does not. So this is what was being talked about on selecting cabs to install.
Without tier all you can do is install cabs independately.<is that spelled right?

Thanks for the tip. Interestingly it won't let me go lower than 6MB on the pagepool. I can go higher, but won't allow lower. With turning off voice command and not yet turning down the pagepool it got me to 20.87MB free at boot. : )

Has anyone else had this problem? I'm running the rom on Verizon XV6800. Great rom overall in spite the memory problems everyone is complaining about. When I first flashed the rom, it was perfect, pressing the windows button on the phone brought up that nifty hexagonal menu with the icons you could scroll through with your finger. All of a sudden, it stopped doing that, and pressing the windows button brings up the little hard to read menu that pops down from the top. Hard Resetting, brought the hexagonal menu back, but a few days later it disappeared again. Did I inadvertently change some setting? is there a way to bring it back?

That menu that pops down is the quick menu. If you hit the windows hard button it is designed to open that unless you exit quick menu. Also tapping on the icon in the top left will act just like the windows hard button. But with the quick menu enabled, you can tap on the word start in the top bar and it will open the menu you are looking for.
Now if you exit quick menu but you use the newmenu (that is a soft key while in clock panel) you have just enabled it again. But if you do not use the newmenu then the top bar icon as well as the windows hard button will open the menu you are looking for.

Let me know if this is what you are talking about.

yes, but if you want the windows hard key to open the hex menu then:
goto quick menu options and uncheck "register win key of device"
Then when you hit window hard button it will only open the hex start menu. But hitting the icon in top bar will open quick menu.

You can use anything in new menu without enabling quick menu, except hibernate(which is needed).

I just installed build 21725. Is there a cab available for the connection manager found in this rom? The rom I'm using for build 21725 appears to be missing it. Also, how can I disable/uninstall the honeycomb Start Menu? I also need the cab to improve the sensitivity of the touchscreen but I can hunt that one down myself.

Thanks.

Anyone else having this problem?: If you make a call in the call status view, then switch to the keypad view (for things like bridge lines, voicemail where you have to dial something after you call), then switch back to the status view, it locks up. The call stays connected, but no buttons work so you can't hang up, exit out, etc without soft resetting.

Also seems to do it if you try to go from landscape mode to portrait while in the call status view.

I'm using the 21501 rom on Sprint.

Just tried all of your senarios and could not duplicate. I am running the sprint 21501 as well.

I am running a different dialer. So you might want to try this one and see if it still does it.
