Hi Chanvi, I can't see the versions with IE8 in the supplied address: http://www.4shared.com/dir/14855064/fac9aaac/Trinity-Kitchen4All.html
Did you remove them. Another question, does 21222 support 2-way recording ?
Thanks, all the best..
chanvi93
9th May 2009, 09:25 AM
Hi
These 5 versions are only in kitchen by cooking yourself , i have only made 2 versions for test .
Havn't test yet with 2-way recording .
As i said , i shared my kitchen because i am tired to provide 16 or 20 versions by build in 2 language and 2 devices .

Hi
Thanks for the Kitchen and the packages.
I tried the 8IEMANTIT package and it work ok but I am having issues with the TouchFlo 3D. In the Advance configuration tool you can get in to the TouchFLO setting but when I select I get a error saying "An error occurred while loading TouchFLO 3D configuration.
What I am trying to do is take some of the tabs out. Can I do that?

Great work Chanvi + Oggi. Thank you for keeping the Trinity forum so alive.
I've just flashed your "ROM_WWE_21222_IE6_UltraLite+Lockscreen" and all seems well so far. I have to admit, the responsivity speed of Spb Mobile Shell 3.0 is slightly slower than that of a 6.1 light ROM (e.g. moving from screen to screen, icons appearing) but the stability seems fine.
Spb Colour Theme
You may all know this by now, but for those who don't...
If you choose to install Spb Mobile Shell (I recommend version 3.0.1 Beta 1), and want to use the Spb colour themes , you will need to find and copy one of the old "black.tsk" or "pure_black.tsk" onto your device and then activate it within Settings / Today. For some reason, the .tsk's cooked into 6.5 ROMS do not allow Spb Theme to change colour.

Thanks for sharing. I have tried 6IE+TIT+FOOT and it is extra fast and stable.
I have only one bug discovered until now. It is about BT file transfer and I think that obex service is missing or not running, Anyway this *.cab below is solwing that problem. Can you tell me how to include that cab in the future ROMs or you have some other solution for this problem.

So far, I have been able to transfer files via Bluetooth, but only if I choose "My Device / My Documents" as the save location. When I go into connection settings and alter the save location to anywhere else, e.g. on the storage card, it doesn't seem to save there. Eventually, my device becomes unrecognised and I have to switch BT back off and reasign the default save location. I may be wrong, so do let me know if anyone does manage to successfully save a file sent via BT to the SD.

John, thank for information. I made same ROM 215202IE6UL with HTC ALbum and HTC Gestures and some other things (Java, YouTube, AudioManager, AdobeReader, RSSHub).
In my case QuickGPS does start.
Chanvi, thaks for great kitchen!!! It's realy fantastic the job you do.
215202IE6UL with 3G disabled I have 27MB free!!! :D:D:D
After some calls and using different applications it reduced to ~22MB free Ram. Using cleanRAM Level3 in combination with hibernate it goes back to 26-27MB free RAM and my iGO8 is happy:D:D:D Fantastic.
I have had one problem:
after Lockscreen "Windows default" I could no more unlock it. A softreset did not solve the problem only a hard reset. I tried to flash again but same problem. With 21222IE6UL it was ok. It's not a problem for me because I only use the classic one and I hope to remeber to not change...

Let me try Rom 21502 this eve. :-)

We have already talk about this in old threat , after a sync with your PC , QuickGps is already launched and updated , can't launch again until a softreset or kill it by Task manager . To prevent you can uncheck "Update by sync" in Quickgps options , but normaly this tool work fine by cooking and i never check or launch to see , each time i sync the update is done .

Probabely i have moved all shortcut in folder and it don't take png in Base_96 , try this :
In OEM-Trinity-0409-OEM_Lang_0409 , open initflashfiles.dat with NotePad and search example :
Directory("\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Utility"):-File("Calendar.lnk","\Windows\calendar.lnk")
Remove "\Utilility" , so you will have :
Directory("\Windows\Start Menu\Programs"):-File("Calendar.lnk","\Windows\calendar.lnk")

if you please can you share the kitchen for WM6.1 - build 21014? i like very much that rom, i can't use with 6.5 ...yet.
Hi
I don't know why you can't use wm6.5 yet , Oggi is working in a wm 6.1 build 21042 , we need a lot of time you know to prepare a kitchen for you , we don't use this to work in protxip and sys and test before , this great Ervius+Bepe kitchen tool is ideal for final users , but before we must do many things .

Probabely i have moved all shortcut in folder and it don't take png in Base_96 , try this :
In OEM-Trinity-0409-OEM_Lang_0409 , open initflashfiles.dat with NotePad and search example :
Directory("\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Utility"):-File("Calendar.lnk","\Windows\calendar.lnk")
Remove "\Utilility" , so you will have :
Directory("\Windows\Start Menu\Programs"):-File("Calendar.lnk","\Windows\calendar.lnk")
Tell me if it's OK or not .
Ok my friend. I can see now that this is not so simple job to do. I have tried with your suggestion and Im not sure what happened. If you can help on the real example:
Files Explorer has an old style icon and we need to make it to be with the icon from the SYS\21502\DPI_96\COMMON\Base_DPI_96\Start_Icon_Fil eExp.png

Have some questions:
================
1. how can change the size of icons in start menu ?
2. What is the difference between packages that we should put in OEM & EXT?
3. Still have problem setting=> connections>wireless lan the 2 buttons are reversed (i.e advanced opens search for wlan & turn on wifi opens advanced settings. how should i reverse them? through editing mui file?
4. Sould'nt Activesync connect to the internet through usb or blutooth? used to do that in older roms but now not working anymore.

Hi All,
I've locked my Trinity using the WM6.5 locking mechanism, but I did not have the CHOME components installed,so I don't see the slider on the screen. I do have file access through Activesync and/or Totalcommander. Is there an easy way to unlock the screen, without reflashing or hard-reset?

Ok, I just managed to solve it. I have overwritten lockscreen.dll in the \windows directory with a dummy file (with the same name). Now it starts without locking the screen, pff...

1. You can change valure in Start Menu-Grid scene.cpr , make a search in this site , some threat talk about this .
2. OEM is for our device driver , take in first by the kitchen , EXT = packages , we can use EXT to create Languages - Versions as my kitchen .
3. I haven't pb with this in french versions , "Advanced" open a new page with 5 tabs + Turn on WLan , Wifi open new page with 2 tabs and can launch wifi by Menu .
4. When i connect Activsync my QuickGPS update automaticaly with PC internet connection and i can update weather from M2D , CHome or SPB Mobile .

Hello chanvi
You are doing an excellent job and we can´t thank you enough...
I just made my ROM but didn't change anything.
I made the IE8+Titanium with success. Everything works great and I'm happy with it.
But I didn't change anything, I just followed the steps in 1st post and didn't add or remove anything, because I'm not sure what to delete and where to add...
For example, I would like to add topbar and the the htcAddicts cleanRAM but where do I put it? What directory?
And to remove something, for instance how can I remove the Large system bar when I click on the volume or network? Where is the directory where I can remove what I don't want?
I'm sorry to ask this, but I know you did a perfect job, because I "made" and flashed the ROM perfectly because of the way you prepared things... I just need to understand this part.
Thank you so much, I owe you a lot.

From what I've seen so far in battery, I think it's not SPB MS3, I tried it in the previous ROM, but I didn't installed now and I think there is no difference.

Hi Chanvi,
I have been playing with your kitchen and tried all 3 roms you posted. I have learned I am not really in a need, personally, of a kitchen and created a full rom without changing anything.
What I was missing, however, is few words from you regarding the differences between the roms. I understand the different builds from MS that you use, but looking at the existing ones on the net (there are few with higher numbers available) do you have a clue what is the difference? Is there any other change you make besides using a 'newer' build?
I am not sure there is a change log from MS, but if you do notice differences, can you let us know in brief?
Another interesting fact - using you kitchens+rom seems to create a zero page pool , or at least so it seems using the page pool changer. Is it because it does not handle right the WM6.5 environment?
I am impressed by the performance of the last two roms. Available memory is satisfactory and phone is very fast. Not sure how you do it, but as long as it stay like it, I am a happy camper..

Hi BigE
As i wrote all 212... is from HTC : CR50AKU1 tree ; all 215... is from MS : CR50SAM1 true .
May be you don't know , HTC don't use exactly all MS OS , they modify the architectural , so if you use 21502 XIP with 21321 SYS , it will don't boot .
Since one month each new build is a bit better but realy imperceptible in general , you use SKTool to mesure and you will see .
With new Ervius Visual Bepe kitchen , you can't see Pagepool , its all are 0 , but the real Pagapool is 4 MB , you can change it to 3 by Pagepool tool .
Sometime i don't release some new build when i find the difference is too minime .

Hi D@vide
Actualy only wwe and CHS (Chinese) are existed with wm 6.5 "official BETA", if you want to translate all mui files in SYS , you can use Restorator 2007 as i do with French language .
Or if you find in another section a Italian wm 6.5 rom kitchen , you can use the sys mui files .
Don't use wm 6.1 SYS mui files , its missing many ressources and don't boot after build rom .

I just cooked a working ROM that first boot was 83.65MB Free Storage, and 27.32MB Free Memory. Too cool. nbh file is only 39MB
But, I have to admit, this is not Truly Cooking. This is more like taking a box out of the freezer and putting it in the Microwave, and 3 Min's later, TaDa! A fully cooked ROM without all the headache and mess.
My hats are still off to the "REAL" chefs & programmers that put this all together for us average people.

I completely agree with butterbeanmash. Don't be discouraged chanvi. I think when more people try it, they will tell others, and your downloads will rise.
If a person wanted 2 different versions of a ROM, they would save download time and effort by trying this kitchen instead. You only download one time and you can create 4 different preconfigured ROMS immediately without any extra effort. It truly is easy, just try it. If you have questions, first look back and see if they were answered, and if not, then ask them here. People are happy to help.

Good to hear. I totally understand you not wanting to make 20 different builds. I'm sure putting this kitchen together takes a LOT of time, and I know we ALL appreciate it, even if it's not being said by everyone.
I am DEFINATELY a beginner, so anything I build will not be perfect, but I will be happy to share what I come up with as I get them. But keep in mind, I will probably not be able to fix any problems. I don't know that much yet.
I only have two so far, but I will place them here when I do them:

Hi my friend
There are at least two reasons why people want finished rom rather than kitchen:
- to small knowledge (or rather laziness in reading instruction how to cook)
- not enough free time (that is something which I don't have lately :()
As I see you had decided to use older 21042 build. This build work as good as newer 21046 IMO :)

IE6 with 21042 WM 6.1 ?
Please precise what build and version you have cooked , wm 6.1 hasn't IE6 or 8 , only IE .
Sorry for the confusion.
I'm using:
Kitchen_21042_WM 6.1
and inside i choose:
1 - fullmanila
WWE
I made a hardreset and the bugs are (with nothing installed, just clean)
Backlight not working at all
Keypad missing, it just dont appear.
Impossible to change Alarm sound
All home itens are gone agter using M2D, even when configured in 3 places (manila2dsettings,today items and in normal home)
Unfortunatly i will have to put another version, because the keypad missing makes the phone impossible to handle.
About the IE, it was my confusion, thought this was IE6, my bad.
Please try to fiz this because this rom is perfect
More than 28Mb of RAM
Ps - why does it has hibernate and cleanRAM if they do +- the same? (witch one is better?)
At last, is it possible to remove the games and excel ?
Thanks

Hello
I haven't all these bugs , may be your kitchen is corrupted .
Delete all , ans re-unzippe the .raar file or re-Download , try to make a rom without changing anything .
Hibernate work in complement with cleanRAM , launch cleanRAM before and Hibernate just after , you will have +2 or 3 MB by cleanRAM and +1 MB by Hibernate with Manila running .
As i said in first post , in SYS you can remove 2 folders without risk : Entertainment ( Game) and Windows Live + Windows IM .

Oh may be this is first time you use my rom , "Connection Setup" is not present in kitchen , DL "WWE-PostInstall" and install "Configuration-Network.cab" , because this software is using only one time and the height is 2.6 MO , so after use ( settings your operator values) you can unsinstall it .

Don't remove packages with only a .dsm file , it contain certificate necessary for software : manila, Footprint, agps , quickgps etc...
Its don't take space in your rom.
Also "mxip_performance" is VERY IMPORTANT , Supersport this's my secret as you said .

Since one month each new build is a bit better but realy imperceptible in general , you use SKTool to measure and you will see .
With new Ervius Visual Bepe kitchen , you can't see Pagepool , its all are 0 , but the real Pagapool is 4 MB , you can change it to 3 by Pagepool tool .
Sometime i don't release some new build when i find the difference is too minime .
Thanks Chanvi, I did not know the differences between HTC and MS. So are they in sync regarding the numbering system at least? I hope they are..
I set the page pool to 2M and get 53M RAM, and with the help of SuperSport, his cooked Ultra Light version, combined with 2M page pool give a 29.5M free RAM initially. I then use SKTOOLS to maintain clear RAM and set it to be memory conscious (not performance, as your ROM, with even 2M page pool is fast enough for my needs)
After sync with two servers, I keep 26M free RAM most of the time. I use Home2 and it eats 10M of memory currently 9until they come up with a version that will not have graphics sit in RAM) but it is good enough for me. I have a quick PLUGIN off if I run iGO. 26M means iGO runs great and will calculate a rout from the west coast (Los Angeles) to the East coast (NYC) without 'out of memory' messege, even if high resolution and 3D are on.
You certainely have made thr trinity survive a year or so over its life expectancy. Poor HTC folks, now they will have to wait more time before i buy my next phone. Hope to skip the current generation and buy a phone after the release of WM7... :p

Hi Tommy my friend
I know but i think you (or Nosedive) have WWE Rom project with this build and i'm a bit surprise that Trinity section user prefer working rom and no cook themself .
Usely i have btw 800 at 1200 DL after one week with finished rom , only 280 after 6 days with 21502 kitchen .
With 3 clicks , 3 mn in waiting and flash ; is perhap not enough easy .
Normaly i would like to propose you a multilang kitchen with you in PLK but now i think this's not a good idea .
Regards
Hi Chanvi and Oggi,
Your Kitchen is perfect for me. :)
I have all a few home-baked Rooms WM6.5 (IE6 and IE8) and installed. Everything works well and easy. This is a new way of the update for Trinity and everything is new in the beginning was watched with caution. Therefore I am not surprised that less downloader programs per week that you are. I have great confidence that this new way of offering ROM is its rapid time very popular. Please , take your time…;)I now bake me Rooms with Windows Vista without any problems and in time of 3 - 4 minutes.
PS. How do you slide WM6.5 device lock automatically set, for example, that he himself is concerned, and after 35 seconds without password - only by finger slide open word again ;just like same same as S2U2-v1.62 ?

My english isn't very good so I apologize if my sentences seem rough.
I have create my IE8 WWE rom with 21231 kitchen but after flash I'm not able to see difference between IE8 and IE6 ... in previous release there was a cab to modify the registry ("21501 _IE8_Reg_WWE.cab") but it doesn't work with these release.
I also report you that Pocket Rar is in Franch.
In my previous superficial test the interface of IE8 is better than IE6 .. but i read that many people prefer to instal IE6 ... why in your opinion? ... is it faster than IE8?

Config.txt is for Kitchen (ROM) and SDConfig.txt is for SD Card using UC Compliant , these are 2 different things .
All is already correct in kitchen or WWEPostInstall . The only thing you can and only you to change is SDConfig.txt to remove or add .cab you want , open with NotePad and write exactly with the same space line by line .

1. 4M PP per Chanvi.
2. No. it's better for the following reasons: Dynamic clean (no need to run it manually, and optimize registers to be more memory or performance oriented.
3. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=414443 . You can set two screens. One has home2, the other has nothing. Set mToday to a button and with a flick of a finger you can turn plug ins off and gain RAM.

Chanvi, can you elaborate what is 'better' or what can you notice is different between 21231 and 21232? I have flashed my phone 6-7 times playing with your kitchen over the weekend, and then again with SuperSports Ultra Light. Does it worth doing it again?
SuperSport - Any plans to cook a new superUltraLiite ?

faster , ram also less ( a little) with CHome and Manila , but Shym tell me it's also better with Shell Mobile 3
Take your time , i publish new build when it's realy better but 21231 is already excellent .

Can Somebody explain to me what SQL is for on our phones? Is it a necessary item for running programs? Or is it used for Exchange?
Thanks, still trying to slim down the SuperUltraLite I'm working on.
I never make a rom without SQL , Exchange sure , may be MMS also .
take care with the rom size , if too small it will don't boot by standard flash , by SD card ok if too small size .

From what i know (MS site) SQL Server Compact is embedded database engine that lets developers build Windows Desktop and mobile applications that run on all Windows platforms including Windows XP, Vista, Pocket PC, and Smartphone.
Frankly- i never had one reason to have SQL run even once in the past 4 yeasr I am on MS mobile OS... Not really applicable on mobile phone. i do use SQl services on my desktop, and lots of it, but never had it on my mobile phone. IMO it may have the code to run on WM but it will probably crash the CPU or die from lack of RAM on our phone...
I would say it is a well calculated risk to remove it from the UltraLite version..

From what is being told about work well with pagepool2Mb, are you planing to release your ultralite version with 2 or 4Mb?
thanks
@all
Is there the same to do a post install compared to a ROMbased install? (more stable or something)
for example, i love some things in a full version, like youtube player, quick gps, etc but there are other i don't want to and i cant unistall them.
So i dont know if its better to have a ultra lite and then install by myself or to have a full one.

Thank you for this info. I ALWAYS flash from SD now, so I have not had any trouble with the small nbh files. I hope others are not having trouble as my last SuperUltraLight was only 39.1MB nbh.
Thanks again Chanvi Oggi, you both are awesome for answering all these questions. Edit: Also, this is the FIRST kitchen that I can somewhat understand. This is fun, sometimes a little frustrating, but fun.

So far, I have NO idea how to change the pagepool. But I will look into it. I think on the SuperUltraLite, I might try the 2MB if I figure out how.
Edit: WOW, that was easy. Took about 45 seconds to search, download and use the Pagepool changer tool. When I release the 21232 SuperUltraLite, it will be 2MB Pagepool.

Ok, it appears that people are either afraid of, or not comfortable with, the kitchen. When you first open it, it looks really intimidating, but it's really not, (at least for Basic Cooking). :o
I thought I'd post a brief YouTube Video Tutorial showing how to Cook a Built-In ROM from the Kitchen. There are 5 ROMS already done by Chanvi & Oggi, all you have to do is choose one of them. ;)
I don't do tutorials, so I apologize in advance. It's REALLY home made looking, and also, when the audio gets garbled I'm just saying that you will need to wait about 2-5 minutes, depending on your computer speed, for the kitchen to finish.
I hope this helps someone. Enjoy! :D

Things i'm missing (just for a review)
1 - quick task (upper right conner)
2 - why it has 1 game? (should be any)
3 - quickGPS (and why has GPS viewer?)
Now, what is missing for me:
1 - youtube
2 - remove hibernate and clean and then post install sktools
3 - netsharing
4 - operamini
5 - powerpoint (only)
6 - adv config
7 - PIMbackup (huge miss - post install)
8 - total commander
9 - wm5storage
10 - sip selector
Thats all!
I will try to find standalone apps for this, like foxit reader, i just have the exe in the MMC and that way i will have a pdf reader all the time,no matter what ROM i'm using.
I think PIMbackup can also function as standalone.
Thanks

Config.txt is for Kitchen (ROM) and SDConfig.txt is for SD Card using UC Compliant , these are 2 different things .
All is already correct in kitchen or WWEPostInstall . The only thing you can and only you to change is SDConfig.txt to remove or add .cab you want , open with NotePad and write exactly with the same space line by line .
oh, I get it now. There are two different config-files. If I understand this correct, the PostInstall is not required to get the rom to work? And the config.txt is allready set up correctly?
thanks.

I think Chanvi has answered it long ago... It is actually depending on what you run on the device.. For me, using heavily emails, SMS and GPS (and I don't browse with the phone, nor play music/video) I think there is no app that requiers more than 2M. Chanvi recommended 3M and has the generic ROM at 4M. Chanvi himself, if i may quote, stated he is going with 4M to satisfy the most of us with so many different things we do. I personally think that if one is making it super ultra lite than 2M is the right amount of PP.
If there was one person teaching me how to open this device, replace a part to 128M RAM instead of 64M , I wouldn't be spending so much time trying to save more RAM for memory hungry apps like iGO. It's a pain having only 64M..:(

Have you noticed on 21231 with 2M PP the RAM has 53M RAM, and on 21232 only 51M RAM? I could get 29M free RAM with 2M PP and SKTOOLS on 21231 but only 27M on 21232..
However, from about 15 minutes of work, I have a feeling the 21232 is a bit faster.. I can't really compare, having only one phone, but this is a feeling.

Honestly, I don't know the differences. Chanvi mentioned better memory, and of course, a newer build. I know it's running very reliably on my phone, but so did 21231. I think you can stay with your rom for now until something major changes, or when there's a cooked version that fits you better.
I found I was having trouble using Windows Mobile Device Center on the SuperUltraLite version, so I'm now on a more loaded version. I'm not sure yet what package caused the problem, or if it was just a temporary glitch, but I need Sync Ability, so I dropped the SUL for now on my phone. I do miss the 26MB free though.

I did not try 0 in WM6.5 but with WM6.1 it wasn't as good as a static PP. It changed from 18M to 4M free RAM (well, this is what dynamic means) and ran me nuts. Yes, the over all result is a blazing fast phone, but since the phone is pretty responsive as is, this was not a great comfort over crashing iGO because of lack of memory, so at least for me, 0 PP was not the answer. Here is another funny behavior- Now I can get 29M free RAM and technically operate iGO with HD resolution , 3D, and TTS. But the map refresh is behind at all times, so it seems I need a bigger PP. If I give up TTS (which is a big memory hog) my phone is perfect..
Considering all Hispanic and European road names on the maps I am on, the TTS anyways is nothing much to write home about, or at least for my tin ears I rather not use it on trinity. So- I'll stick with 2M PP, but it would be interesting to know how it works for you, and if you tried iGO with it..

Ok, I'm now home. I took the Pre-Built IE6 UltraLite that Chanvi & Oggi made and the only change I made was to the pagepool by changing it to 0.
I then installed ONLY these:
SPB Mobile Shell 3
TomTom
iGO8
Network Connections
I ran around today with the phone and all seemed to operate properly. I was able to plan a trip from Los Angeles to New York and the Demo ran seemingly perfectly. Only ran it for about a hundred miles on High Speed, and a few miles on normal speed.
WITH SPBMS3 running (NOT Closed), I have a constant 20.56MB Memory free. It is plenty to run the above described iGO8 demo without TTS turned on, but all other features on High, 3D, etc... When I shut down SPBMS3, I get 23.52MB Free Memory.
I may try it again with a 2MB Pagepool and see what happens. I'll see if it's any quicker, although it appears to run like normal this way.
PS: I know that in TomTom, if you have too many POI's showing on the map, it will make the map lag. Not sure about iGO8, but you might check.
I'm VERY impressed with this Kitchen that it's WM6.5 on a Trinity, and to me, it seems more responsive than 6.1

Well, I didn't have the old 21502 kitchen, but I can get this module from my kitchen, it's not a problem.
On the other hand, I'm working on new 0C0A MUI files. But this work is quite large. But, yes, after that, I'll share with you.

I am , too, impressed with the WM6.5 kitchen. However, just to see how it is, I created a WM6.1 Ultra lite from Chanvi's kitchen. I can get 31M free RAM which is VERY impressive, however, after getting used to the WM6.5 look and feel, the GUI in WM6.1 is not finger friendly , so I am going to do just what you did. I am going to create an Ultra lite WM6.5 and set PP to zero ad see how it works. However, I am going to use 21231 and not 21232 because it has 2M more free RAM, and I am not convinced I have any improvement using it. 'better' is not a measurable value (I am an engineer.. I know how to compare values, not opinions)

Hi aceituna
The best way is: Extracting from the ROM, the files: Titanium_240x320.cpr and Titanium_320x240.cpr
Now, open TitaniumWeather.CAB, extract from there the same files and check them. Look for 'Weather' into the files and copy this part, on the original files. Finaly insert the modified files into the CAB and install it.

Certainely,
Supersport has published on this thread his super ultra lite version. I used it for a while, but eventually went back to Chanvi's kitchen and used his Ultralite. Both are about the same, but Supersport ripped off Chanvi's some more parts to make the storage area bigger. it has no difference as far as RAM usage , i would say. So you will have to go back few pages and find it, as both are posted.. ;)
Technically speaking, SPB 3.0 isn't a memory hog after all. From what SuperSport reports, it is a 5-6M memory usage. a bit more than M2D but way less than home2 I am using.

Ok, I took the Pre-Built IE6 UltraLite that Chanvi & Oggi made and the only change I made was to the pagepool by changing it to 0.
I did the same and looked into what is really does, compared to a 2M PP. I took 21232 IE6Ultralite as the basics for comparison. So after creating NBH without making any changes, there are 55M RAM available. With zero PP the 55M are all available but the taken part is 37M and only 18M free. with 2M PP there is only 53M available (2M are PP, da) , however there are now 28M free (only 25M in use). What is seems to me is when PP is set to zero on our phones, using WM6.5 is not that it is dynamic PP as one may think, but a static 12M PP hidden as part of the OS. That makes the phone fast and stable, but on the expense of running heavy apps. Does iGO run as you described? yes, and no..
If you have no today plugin at all, and have no active sync activities it may work most of the time. If you tried using it long enough you would have gotten to 'out of memory' messages from iGO when AS is on, because on top of the hidden 12M PP AS takes its fair share of memory. Keep in mind AS killer really does absolutely nothing in WM6.5.
I am back to 2M PP. Most definably slower and less responsive than with 12M PP (or 'zero' if you like). But I don't have to soft reset for days. I do have to use shadow services by SKTOOLS, and I do clear RAM manually before running iGO, but other than that, I completly agree with Chanvi. The 2M to 4M PP is the right range for our phone for 90% of the apps.
Again- if only we had 128M RAM phones it would have been one of the most amazing phones I have seen lately (ignoring the blows and whistles of WVGA screens). My daughter owns the latest 3G i Phone and as much as the ergonomics goes , yes it beats up my trinity, but for a business phone, mine rocks compared. I have recently 'hosted' two laptops in the middle of nowhere as a wifi router over 3G . We were the only two in 50 miles radius that could connect to the internet, check mail, and surf to our website for a presentation in a G*d forsaken motel on the way.. Show me another phone that can do that (I mean non WM phone). With WM6.5 on it, our trinity is a little neat device, and compared to its age- still a strong going.

Thank you BigE for all your input. I think it is good input and should be considered when cooking a rom. You've done actual testing, something I did not have time to do. A BIGe help.
And @ herpez, I was wondering the same thing. I think I can set it to 3MB, but I don't know if it would benifit the system or not. I say try it and see what you think. Possibly, it would depend again on what you plan to do with your phone.

Hello Chanvi
I tested the UL WM6.5 and 6.1 ROM's
For me it seems that the 6.5 are more responsive and the 6.1 has more free Ram.
I use frequently iGO so the free RAM is importand for me.
With your 6.1 I can run also Navigon MN7 together with POIWarner!!!
On 6.5 it was not possible because after a few second/minutes POIWarner was closing by itself.
Now I have aproblem on the 6.1UL.
The music is skiping all few second with BT headset (SE HBH-SD220).
The music skips with MediaPlayer, S2P and AudioManager.
On your 6.5 I didn't have this problem. Do you have any suggestions?
I want to stay with 6.1 because of the possibility to run MN7 with POIWarner.
Thanks for your great kitchen!

How to do it.

Ok. I already solved that mystery so I'll try to help you. Folder icons in the Start menu are taken usually from *.dll files containing them.
There is Icon.lnk file in every folder and it is leading to chaninja.dll which is Chanvi's resource for the folder icons. You will have plain windows folder icons after remuving them.
If you want other icons instead, you will need to build your own dll or to call Icons from the registry like the Games icon for example. Icon.lnk has a priority over the registry value. So if you delete Icon.link from the Games folder, after reset you will have original WM6.5 Games folder Icon taken from the Start_Icon_Games.png in the windows folder.
I hope I helped:)
Now I have a question for our friend Chanvi. Where is the resource for the Icons organization in the start/settings (Control Panel)?
I noticed that you are using your Icons organization for all your roms 6.1 and 6.5. The folder and the icons organization from the start is defined in the initflashfiles.dat and *.provxml files in the OEM\Trinity\0409\OEM_Lang_0409 and package folders. That is clear to me.
BUT:cool: where is written where and what icons to put in settings(control panel)
Whay I need this?
Because if we want all the icons to be original ,WM6.5 applets need to be at the right place. In your roms for example Sounds and Notifications Icon is placed in Settings/Personal but it should be in root Settings, also Settings/Personal/Today should be in root Settings.
I hope you can understand what I want to say:o It is a problem in ALL WWE roms from you.
Thanks in advance!

Hello,
I am glad to hear that:D Please also take a look on File explorer.lnk in wwe version it is Files explorer.lnk and cant call the right icon from registry. There are two registry entries for file explorer too.
I think that Mycpl has some kind of influence on the control panel icons organization, because i have removed the entry from the registry and got some improvements. Also I got the Power icon back in the Settings/System by removing Redirect key for Mycpl. What is that Mycpl thing:confused:

Can you please say free RAM and storage @ 1st boot?

Depending of what you choose, of course.. I can't really answer it because I have done some changes (that's the essence in having a kitchen). My base is Chanvi's IE6Ultralite version. I then change page pool to 2M (after creating the nbh file), I also use LZX compression to get as much storage as possible. So I can give you numbers , but they are actually my personal experience based of what I 'cooked' myself (and I do not consider myself a cook really- it's like after boiling an egg calling yourself a chef.. )
I made myself a super ultra lite rom with 28M RAM and close to 80M storage. I don't think it has value of sharing because a) it is good for me, but maybe not for others and b) it really takes minutes to prepare your own. Watch the movie by Supersport, it is so simple really. The only down side is it may take trial and error until one gets the rom that works for him. By sending out mine it is just one in several dozens of options. Try the kitchen- don't touch the system files, but you can turn off anything you know for sure you will not use.
Chanvi- one small comment though - I turned off WMstorage as there is ver 1.9 out there. Also it is redundant anyways to USB to PC in the rom anyhow. But regardless- I managed (with SKTOOLS) to get to decent free RAM that serves me well. I can't thank you enough (and oggi and ervius and bepe and...) for this. It is also your fault for me not sleeping enough... I can't stop playing with the kitchen and try to get to 30M free RAM . Somehow it seems 21231 has 2M more RAM than the next ones you released. Can you figure out why, and how can we gain it again? Note that 21231 seem to have 55M RAM and 21232-4 only 53M RAM. Is it the XIP that takes more?

Yes i know , i use these 2 because WM5torage is faster when copy from device and USB to PC is better when from PC .
Regarding 21231 and 21232 Total RAM , It's the same as the choice of your option . 21232 then 21234 has the better lock phone system and use in background 1.8 MB of ram to maintain the system .

Hello Andych
You mean 21234 ?
It's a bit complicate because i have changed OEM and EXT structure , will find time to update your kitchen and in the futur only one kitchen for 2 devices , what do you think guys ?
In P3600 i you are only 10 at 20 guys to interest to cook yourself and since i publish your kitchen , only one report so i don't know at all what happened . I spent 2 nights to prepare "P 3600 i" kitchen (after port xip and sys for Trinity) without possibility to try .

I can't speak for the others....I love the idea of being able to "personalise" my own Rom....I certainly appreciate the work you put in....my biggest problem right now is free time to play around and find what works and doesn't work....
I am also having to do a bit of research on what can be added / removed so I keep coming back to this thread for more info.
I can certainly understand your reluctance to put in the time and effort to convert things for just 2 people....it just doesn't make any sense......
I will leave it at that...and keep abreast of developments in here....

You are always welcome in this forum , my obsession with "P3600 i" is the crash after a few days of use , so your kitchen is not at all optimized and still as exactly the original official wm 6.0 ( with xip ported to wm 6.5) , i'm sure can optimize it as Trinity kitchen but i need users test and tell me what happen .

Hehehe
My wife has accused me of having an affair with my phone... :p
That's why I don't sleep. i wait until everyone else is in bed to have the trials...
Old joke: a single man gets home at evening, go to the kitchen, see what's there, and goes to bed. A married one gets home, go to bed, see what's there, and go to the kitchen.
So now my 'kitchen' is Chanvi's... :) and in case my wife read it, i love you... (I am married for 18 years and hope to keep it much more, but with posts like this one, i take some risks. hehe)

You don't change it in the Kitchen, you change the finished *.NBH file directly using the tool found at this link:

Good Luck! :D

thank you very much.
i know how to change pagepool in wm6.1, but i find the data structure is different between wm6.1 and wm6.5, so i doubt that tool can change it correctly, i also don't know how to create NBH file using Erviuskitchen.

This is my first try in cooking a ROM. Please forgive me if foolish questions is raised.
1. donwloaded the kitchen 21234
2. create rom - successful
3. flash the rom - successful
Now come the problem, after finished flashing the new rom (flash from SD), reset the phone and there isn't anything like the 21501 where it will start installing some stuff and also run the SDconfig. It start without installing anything at all, not even starting the SDconfig.txt.
Secondly, i could not run install anything from the file manager, when i click on the cab file nothing happen.
Have i done something wrong? please help
