I'm interested in an HTC Touch HD (T8285), i.e. the Australian version with 850MHz 3G. Please either post here or PM me your offers.

Edit: Will settle for a T8282 in excellent or new condition depending on price. PM me offers.

Best,

Hi,
My name is Kevin and the company in Aus I bought this from sent me 2 by mistake yet also charged me for 2 not good. Being it is a hassle to return one back to Australia when I get it barring custom's delays on Wednesday if your intersted it will be the Telstra Version and never opened, brand new. I am only asking to get my money back and as you know these units, hard to come by, are far more expensive than the UK Version. Price is $800.00 plus shipping. Thanks, Kevin 651-324-1177 if interested.

Now that I have fully swapped to AT&T from Sprint, I am once again interested in this. Please send me a PM with offers.

Yeah I have seen those though that's honestly a bit too much.

I am willing to live without the 3G on the T8282, if someone has a nice offer please feel free to PM.

Sorry to hijack this thread but hopefully someone can explain to me the pricing on this T8285... Were there not many made? I mean the UK version is WAY cheaper. Why? It's the same device with different bands. That's it.

My only assumption is that there aren't many T8285's around. Supply and demand. Since the people in the U.S. can theoretically use this on ATT the demand goes up, but the supply is down?

Why can't HTC pump out more T8285's?

Also I think once ATT releases it's version of the TP2 the price will go down as people on ATT in the U.S. will FINALLY have a large screen WinMo option on 3G. The Advantage doesn't count IMHO. It doesn't have an earpiece, hence isn't really a "cellphone".

I believe the T8282 can be obtained by vendors directly through HTC. It's not a carrier branded device.

The T8285 is branded by Telstra, and HTC only makes a certain amount for use on Telstra's network. It just happens that Telstra's "Next G" network uses the 850MHz band, which AT&T also uses in quite a few areas in the US.

I don't think it's really as simple as "HTC should pump out some more T8285s" - these really aren't meant for people to be purchasing unlocked and using on any network. They are meant for use on Telstra's network. If Telstra needs more devices, then they will purchase more through HTC.

At least that's my understanding of the whole thing.

I'm still looking, and could potentially settle for a T8282. Please PM me your offers.
