I have downgraded my Tomal 8.9 to Tomal 8.5 due the "Dosbox" Program.

I Use Arcsoft MMS 5.0.29 Tomal Version which can be download from vidmes.com/xda/ or maybe in thread #523. And my MMS working just great in Tomal 8.9 regular.

The difference is, of course, RAM size. Original size is 64Mb, unless upgraded with additional BGA chip to bring it to 128Mb.

you can copy to uni via active sync (file explorer) or via an SD card
or simply use MyMobiler and drag/drop onto window!

No 6 or 6.1 ROM´s have videocall 100% working, if you need it you have to go back to ugly 5
For mms do a search please!

Honestly I´m not exactly sure why not works, but I understand that is a matter of tastes, and not too much people are interested in having it(including most of our great Chefs), as I said I´m not sure...

G'Day Mate well i usually don't do DOC formatting.. just flash the ROM and it flashes successfully:D:D:D.... so ... and i think it erases the partition and and other stuff to flash the ROM...:confused::confused::confused:

I generally use Mtty in cases of dire emergency, when ROMs start to behave funny, even though everything went well and nobody else reported the same problem, for example. Some ROMs have different partition structure, so it is advised. Other than that, I use it very seldomly.

I suggest trying Hard Reset first, if still problematic - re-flash. I never encountered that type of problem on Tomal ROMs, theoretically possible on Beta versions, but not on release, so would think it's just a bad flash.

I´m quite happy to have this counter for real since I bought my Uni on Aug 05, and not having in 00 every time I reflash, but I´m sure should be a way to erase it, wich I just find usefull in case you want to sell your Uni

Thanksfor this ROM. I love it! The only problem I am having is with the Star Alliance software (http://www.staralliance.com/en/travellers/tools_services/downloadable_timetable.html#apl3). I need to use this app. It shoud allow me to look up flights and then sync them with my Outlook calendar. It should, once downloaded and installed, allow me to check flights offline (No network connection) but this ROM seems to want online access. I have tried either of the available options under Pocket PC and no joy. Anyboby else able to get this working? I don't seem to be able to change dates in the application, then can't check and select options. Thanks, Clive

As far as I know not any chef or dev is actually working on VC for 6.1....so do not expect too much
VC is only working in wm5

I had no problem connecting my headset and using it to listen to my music. I also had no trouble at all connecting to other BT devices. Didn't try it with GPS though. Can't claim it's inoperable though.

I have a bluetooth GPS it's working flawlessly (I use it on a daily basis), at the same time with a bluetooth headset (which always connect automatically).

Maybe try to reflash (DOC flash as well), make sure that your bluetooth device is working on an other phone or ROM.

This may sound somewhat dumb, but I trust you good people will forgive me. It is about the DOC format procedure. See these lines from the Wiki:

Try 1.18, 1.15 and 1.17 wich most of us are using, but the final answer will be given by your own experience.

have a look on Universal Wiki, there is a section of battery problems and some fixes are sugested, they worked for me.
but it is always good to have a newer battery, member dukenukem sells the original ones and he´s trustable.

could you show me a procedure to fix it ? :(


install this Bluetooth_FTP_Test.CAB file and then go to Settings>Connections>Bluetooth>FTP>Enable File Sharing

after months of testing this ROM, i recently encountered a strange behavior of tcmp program. it keeps on running on its own after coming from standby state. Anyone wit possible solution on this will be highly appreciated. many thanks in advance..:) regards

Using wktask manager set up TCPMP to go into a background - This way it is there but I had problems with TOTOM killing TCPMP when it launched and you couldn't use both programs. Click on the icon and the Settings for TCMPMP Then click both options - Dont close with x button and also hide when inactive. This way it goes into background process and is always available quickly and you can leave it playing music. I also configure camera button as hardware launch to get it back quickly.

1st of all thanks for the great rom.
I can play Flash videos direct from the website like (Youtube etc.)

But I have some flash video files in my memory card. I can't play these files because I cant find TCPMP Player Icon in Programs.

Can you give me any idea how to play these flash files.

First, I wanna thank you for your great job..

Really it very nice, fast and stable, but I faced a broblem with multilangage system.. where when I tried to install the file the device tells me that the insatllation was unsuccessful.

I like this ROM a lot.
One thing I don't like is Adobe Flash in IE. It really slows down IE a lot and often runs out of memory. Is there a way to disable the flash lite implementation?

*I know I could switch to a vanilla ROM, but I am looking for a way to disable or deactivate the current flash lite implementation in my current ROM

You can search this thread for 'Zaxxman' shouldn't come up with too many matches.
Also you can read wiki to find out about converting 64/128MB ROM's. The only thing you need to change is PagePool. If you can't find it, it's here (http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=UniPagePool)

Also I have been seeing on this thread that some people had some issues with bluetooth regarding this ROM. I had this problem too where I couldn't receive anything from any device although I could send files and connect to activesync, PAN over bluetooth.


Settings --> Connections --> Beam and make sure that 'Receive all incoming beams is ticked'
Settings --> Connections --> Bluetooth and switch on bt radio and discovery
open the registry editor (included inside this ROM) and navigate to HKLM\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\Obex
At the bottom of the screen (the variables associated to the obex folder) make sure that IsEnabled key has a value of 1 (type hexadecimal)
Soft reset
Pair the HTC Universal with another device and that should do it :D

I hope I'm not re reporting a problem

The problem is:

When I connect my bluetooth s9-hd headphones, it works well, after I disconnect, and reconnect it automatically has problems (stuttering constantly for no reason). The only way to fix this is the soft reset the device. Am I the only one with this problem?


Also, I can't run linux on this ROM don't know if it is a linux problem or a ROm conflict\

Lastly, I can't send files using bluetooth, I can receive files but can't send (yes, I changed the reg file to 1 and turned on beam already)

I tried the lite just for fun, and is it slower...for some reason I think it is slower, I installed the exact same things with the exact same tweaks in the advance config tool

Hello to all, I need some help regarding of my device...

First I tried to upgrade my unit and as You can imagine things didn't go so well as expected..
After upgrading ROM when screen popups which say's "press 0 for clear or X to continue" it does not matter what I press device reboots and turn on red light.
I have to take out battery and restart unit again.
Unfortunately I can't connect to my uni trough usb since bootloader is not accessible,
and to make things even worse my reset button simply does not work.
I have here few questions...

Is it possible to somehow connect to uni trough USB ? (mtty does not work since usb port is not initialized)?

Can I somehow avoid using reset button in upgrade procedure?
Is there some method such is on android phones to put some file on sd card (update.zip) or PB99.zip which will be read automatically on device start and do the upgrade?

two annoying bugs:

1. the tml theme does not work, and i can't delete it ( in rom) same with tml settin.lnk (shows up everytime in sk tools as bad shortcut, can't delete it, in rom)

2. The device freezes if it sees a big exe file, or even the shortcut of it (any exe file above 4mb) it takes up to 1 min for it to load one shortcut from a big exe file (game or software, if there is a exe file above 4mb, it freezes)

Another thing: How to remove TODAY SoftKey Buttons at the bottom. I hate them too. I tried to, but DCINOBAR.EXE not working in 8.9. Was workin perfect in TML 7.7.

SRS WOW not working...We still can't avail the full features & experience of our Full-duplex uni sound card.
But in TML 7.7 SRS is working perfectly! then what happened in 8.9?

For Tomtom 7, Tomal 8.9 lite or Zaxxman seems to be the only way to go.

It didn't work for me on the regular version.

On the lite version it's working like a charm.
I haven't tried Zaxxman version but I heard it works too.

This rom is rly one of the best WM rom I have ever seen. I tryed a lot of roms on a lot of device (TyTN, TyTn2, Qtek S200, Touch pro, Touch HD...) and this rom is one of the fastest/stable.

They are only the 64MB versions because if I had 128MB RAM I would go for different rom with WM 6.5.

I haven't tried the "lite" or "zaxxmann" version and I don't have any screenshots anyway, but accoarding to the first post the only differences are in applications included. So "lite" has least applications and "zaxxmann" is somewhat specially equipped.
