downloaded from the above, by entering a serial number. the location ASIA seems to be a incomplete download, only 35mb. I downloaded from europe and it came to be a 130mb file.

just flashed it. seems to be the upgraded radio version now.. took me barely 10 mins

Unfortunately it does if you are trying to flash a ROM from a different region... even though it's WWE.

I've been running the originally posted Asia ROM 1.40.707.1 with older radio 3.43.25.19 for 2 weeks but it needed a cmonex Goldcard to flash as you can't flash WWE from another region. My original was 1.39.405.2 WWE.

Yup, its 6.1.
I did some comparison before and after flashing. Everything seems the same, ROM version, touchflo version, opera etc..

So it seems like this is only an update to the radio code as what was mentioned in the description.

I have no problem. But that's because I'm using an asia WWE set.
As christonge mentioned, probably HTC has tailored (or locked) their ROM to specific regions.

I lived in Asia...

Bought the D2, it only able to scan thru 3 radio channel in my room and the reception bar is quite low. Something is lower volume and sometime higher volume I need to open up the full length of the handfree to capture more channel and much better volume due to better reception.

After flashing the new ROM, auto search able to pick up all the 11 channels and have good reception in my room.

I updated my Diamond2 from UK ROM to latest ASIA ROM. It's Ok.
- Voice Recorder included.
- TF3D already setup the ASIA country information

No, This Rom is not incllude the chinese input. You have to install more Chinese keyboard.

I really hope people in this Forum will not post any ROM link from HTC and do advertising unless they are Newbie. If their ROM's are perfect, lot less people need this forum.

HTC is an official site. 1. They require registration. 2. You have to have a proper S/N in order to download.

Most people come to these forums looking for solution because they have a phone which they need another version of ROM or different language or more features for their phone or update to their phones they bought from other countries.

It is very easy to upload any piece of software into the forum.

Why tease forum members and show-off the newest ROM and thinking they've never heard of HTC.com?

I got TD2 bought in Asia, it flashed without problems. Didn't notice any differences, since it's a radio update

I upgraded from 1.39 to 1.40.707.1
New radio version does not seems to have any improvement.

In fact, I have not discovered any noticeable improvement yet other than I have to re-install all my applications.
It will take a long time.

Somehow, Sprite backup does not work well with Topaz.

Anyone has a good way to upgrade phone OS without reinstall all applications?

Finaly managed to flash my set (Eastern European WWE) but was flashed to WM6.5 Simplified Chinese ROM from XDA-China. I flashed it back to the Eastern Euproean WWE then to the new Asian WWE ROM using Goldcard created by RonenB. (Thanks RonenB).

Reason for going to the Asian WWE was for the new Radio. Unforunately, like you, I did not see any improvements.

In fact, I think the WM6.5 ROM was far suuperior in terms of mem used and battery life.

Yes, I think it got worse. The Eastern European WWE ROM that I flashed has the capability to auto-config to telcom in China. I think I will flash it back, instead of the Asian ROM.
