I've realised that I've never done a windows update on my HTC Touch (I must've had it about 18 months or more), and I'm on WM6.

I selected Windows Update on the phone, but it said no updates were available. I'm sure there must be a newer version of WM by now?

I don't believe Vodafone ever released an actual update for their HTC Touch. Either way, your best option would be CID unlocking the phone and loading one of the user cooked roms from here.

My response stays the same, definitely check out the cooked roms by the users on this forum, they'll be a lot quicker/newer/reliable than any 'official' release.

By CID unlocking, I don't believe Lokosis means to network unlock the device, which would render it "SIM-free". CID unlocking is removing certain limitations on the phone which will let you overwrite the current version of the operating system (or ROM) with a new one, which you can find here on the forums.

Personally I recommand the latest WM6.1 Onyx ROM, it's fantastic.
