I flashed this ROM earlier today. Hadn't flashed since an old Dutty ROM a couple years ago. Tried a 6.5 ROM for a day and hated it. So far, this ROM looks like the one this Tilt will spend the rest of its days running.

Only problems I've had have been addressed. The new beta Opera is NOT resetting the phone though. I use iGO 2006 and it works, only when TouchFlo is turned off and the phone soft reset. Other than that, fast stable ROM.

It wasn't crashing for me either but then it started again.

I've even had Internet Explorer make it restart on me.

Youtube doesnt restart so it got to be some kind of ram overload thing.

I doubt theres a fix for this. MB is this fixed in version 4?

So sorry to hear about that man, we feel your pain. Been there a number of times myself.

If you haven't reformatted yet, might I suggest booting into a linux live cd and mounting your hard disk, then using dd or just a good old file copy to save some of your data. dd can be made to help you mirror the drive even if it's physically damaged. I don't expect you to start work on v4, but I'm sure cooking files weren't the only thing of value on your rig. Thanks for all of your hard work mb!

Some people will be upset but we all appreciate what you did for us out of your spare time and for me at least you changed what I have come to expect from phones in general.

For those of you who were waiting on v4 and are not afraid to try a 6.5 rom, I've been on TPC Elite V11 for about a week now and it's very fast and stable (for a 6.5 rom) and finger-friendly to boot. I'd like to recommend it.

I just want to aks about youtube application: it won't rotate when phone is in landscape mode but I guess the app was ripped from some non-sliding model. Also, the verry nice purple background color has dissapeared, how can I take it back? And about the Weather app, I can't select city that is outside USA. Can I change it somehow?

I sure wish it was a prank or april foools day:D but it's not.... I hate to think this would be the end of Solace - maybe in the future if you try the suggestion about recovering ur files with linux might work..

I just installed this ROM last week, and it's wonderful. Hadn't flashed since Solace 1.5b, and 3.1 is AMAZING. This ROM and Android will carry my phone til its end, WM 6.5 is just too weird for me with its diagonal icons. Best of luck recovering your data! If you ever start cooking again you will have plenty of fans :)

I tried installing MS Voice Command twice today.

Thank god for SPB Backup because after installing, all my settings options basically dissapeared. Hitting start/settings froze the phone. Settings under SPB Mobile Shell retained the three normal settings folders, but only had a couple of SPB icons in them.

I'm running the no-manila version.

Has anybody successfully installed MSVC or is it just me?

If I have to choose one or the other, Solace 3.1 wins, but I'd sure like to figure out how to have both.

Edit: I had only read the 1st half of this thread and spent the last few hours reading the rest. I see that a couple of others have reported the same problem. One person indicated that v1.6.19209 works, but mine must be different. I've also realized that I suffer from the call wating call drop bug. Off to flash some radios (or just disable call waiting)

Agreed, the restarts with IE & iGo are the only thing holding 3.1 back. Very sorry to hear about v4 being lost, but is there anyway to resolve the reboot issue?

I was quite irritated when I wrote this post, so I am editing it to save face. I thank Mbvarian for the work he put into his Solace ROM, and find it a great disappointment that we will never see v4. I suppose it's time to look for a replacement working ROM that doesn't reset so often ;)

I just flashed this Rom. Seems to be working fine. However, I can't use the camera. I can see the camera functions and everything but the screen is black. when I press the camera button it says ''unable to capture photo. Unable to get frame data from camera device''. Does anyone else have the same problem?

I am using TILT ATT. Also how do I find my radio version?

there is a pretty nice youtube app in this rom but if you still want to be able to play the videos from pie, you can install this. i took it from the htc home customizer temp folder and installed it on my TyTN2 with this rom and it works fine.

siemensfun1 there is a fix for the text notification in like the 3rd post. its a small cab file. the weather for me was a pain in the butt. im usin this rom with att so after the network settings is all set, go to the connections and uncheck "this network uses a proxy server to connect to the internet". also edit the xml file (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=3890275&highlight=M2D+Weather+Patch#post3890275) to add your city in the manner of the others. i just used notepad to do it and total comander on the phone to copy and paste it to the windows folder. hope this helps. good luck.

anyone else seem to keep having small problems arise the longer they have this on their phone?? its happening to me and i am starting to regret changing my phone to this version...


really wishing i hadn't done this update and wouldn't recommend it to anyone...

battery life always shows 4 bars, and when i look at the actual % it will be around 40.. and shortly cut out afterwards..
if i am in the middle of a call and recieve an incoming call it will cut off both conversations
multiple text msg issues that make it very annoying to have a conversation via msging...

I hate to be the one to tell you guys this but there will not be an update. He lost all his files some time back and posted that he was done. I would try some other roms. There are still many great chefs here.

Yea much clearer, wow that does sound like a unique problem, It sounds like hardware, but you said it works with hyperdragon, so maybe you should try switching radios or the hard spl Also there may be something in the wiki in the FAQ section so you could check there if you want check this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=569261&highlight=sim+card

Yes, you should be fine. Just make sure that you have hardspl your phone.

Absolutely love this news! last couple of weeks I was kinda sad that your awesome ROM shouldn´t have a continuation. And even worse- all these people lazy to read or search to know what´s going on, asking answered questions and ordering new ROM with easily add on features to be built in, like in a restaurant. I just flashed v3.1 and everything goes well,the screen is very smooth ,and runs very fast,but i hve one question :when i run google map ,it says "this program requires data connection please contact your carrier ..." im using radio,1.71.09.01,i cant renew the weather either ,maybe for the same reason,but i can suffer the internet just by WAP ,i think the mobile cant change the data connection automaticly,any solutions?have i made myself understood?

I've had this problem once on multiple flashings of this ROM. I had a lot of issues because I just kept re-flashing the ROM without flashing back to a stock ROM. I know there's some debate about whether or not that's necessary on the Kaiser but it seems to help. I'd like to add that the issue did not appear initially, not until after flashing Solace on top of itself multiple times did the issue appear and it disappeared as soon as I did my next flash, which was to stock and then to Solace. One experience isn't a great sample size so as always, YMMV. But it's something to try if you haven't been.

@mbavarian I'd be more than happy to test some builds for you if need be. If it cooks my Kaiser I'll have a reason to upgrade beyond "I want to."

it really helps to flash a stock rom ,once i flash a 6.1 custom rom but it comes along with some issues that others don't have ,so i flash back to a stock rom then flash the custom rom ,problem solved .so i think if u flash many custom roms ,it is necessary to flash a stock rom .

Thought I'd try this as well since I've had this rom for near 6 months and I've had plenty of ups and downs with it. Due to the numerous bugs that are new users have to sort through (110 pages worth, even with the search function, it takes a lot of motivation to not just find a better working rom) I've only held out this long because I have faith Mbarvian will get us out a solid release soon enough and I've managed to give up mobile browsing for the mean time.

Anyways, enough blabbering, as per disabling gfxboost, I did and tested using Opera Mobile, browsed to a website and it immediately reset on me. The reset problem is far and wide the worst side effect of this Rom...hardly makes the rom itself useful if you are a heavy mobile internet user (and I have gone through every page in this forum months ago when trying to fix the multitude of problems associated with the rom). The resets occur on a couple other occasions as well, such as in the windows media player; after starting a song to play it sometimes resets the phone.

I don't mean to sound rude either, I actually really like this Rom despite it's many flaws, so when it's fully functional and working properly I'm sure we will all be bowing our heads in thanks. In the least it is still better than the bloatware the phone was shipped with! From the sounds of it Mbarvian has been making some good headway with v4 though so we can only cross our fingers, hope, and wait.

Yes, mine started resetting again. Dang it. It did take longer for me to rest, sometimes much longer, but it still happend.

I can use Skyfire with it without any noticed problems, but some other programs must have grabbed data via the non-working method and would crash (facebook stuff and weather)

Till v4 comes out, I switched to Stylez black rom. Solace 3.1 is faster and uses better inputs - but the reseting can be embarrasing, esp when you are lookiing up something for your boss and your phone stops working.

I've had this problem once on multiple flashings of this ROM. I had a lot of issues because I just kept re-flashing the ROM without flashing back to a stock ROM. I know there's some debate about whether or not that's necessary on the Kaiser but it seems to help. I'd like to add that the issue did not appear initially, not until after flashing Solace on top of itself multiple times did the issue appear and it disappeared as soon as I did my next flash, which was to stock and then to Solace. One experience isn't a great sample size so as always, YMMV. But it's something to try if you haven't been.

@mbavarian I'd be more than happy to test some builds for you if need be. If it cooks my Kaiser I'll have a reason to upgrade beyond "I want to."

Hi! I flashed Radio 1.71.09.01, same behavior. Flashed Solace 3.1 again, same behavior. Tried to flash Stock ROM (from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=335568 - HTC ROM [http://rapidshare.com/files/57816419/RUU_Kaiser_HTC_WWE_1.56.405.5_radio_sign_22.45.88. 07_1.27.12.11_Ship.rar.html]) and it got stucked at 16%...

Could you, or someone else, please advise a stock rom?

For fixing the weather just install the attached cab and you should find all of the cities you are looking for.

The mail works fine for me (using yahoo) and the email is working fine for me= sending or receiving messages normally.

hello, i have 3 problems with this rom.

First i must to commend this very fast and very good rom, but I can not adjust the volume, I can not adjust the volume - when I click on the speaker icon to adjust the volume on the Today screen will pop up with information about the connection, battery ... I can not find the volume setting, the only place where I could adjust the volume during a call.

The second problem is the camera. Autofocus not working. What to do?

The third thing is just a little thing .... You can set or remodel clocks today, to be animated like the Touch Pro II or TF3D?

Yes "you will want Tilt keyboard Fix" can be found via search & it has threaded messages it's defacto in 6.1.

Make sure you hard-spl'd before trying any custom ROMs.

ok cool got the ROM loaded and so far i dig it....couple of issues that someone around here might be able to help me with

1. EDIT: FIXED WIFI

2. When i slide out the keyboard the home screen only covers about 2/3 of the screen.

3. Any way to change the date format and can the big digital clock be removed somehow? I would be fine with the clock in the title bar instead.

This rom is most stable, fastest I've ever seen.I want to use it. Unfortunately, there are several serious complications:

When I start Opera 10 beta 2, download the page and Kaiser restarts.

Run I GO 8 and after a while to reboot.

What to do?

Kaiser got the most part mainly because of these programs - and the internet navigation.

I'm using X2.V11 at the moment and though I like the ROM I have to move on because of frequent hard resets. The Solace 3.1 looks good. One quick question, I plan to install SPB mobile shell so which version do I download (http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=4561bdd61a2251e1d5a101cf914073b474c3c2c7 aaf90c5b)and flash? Solacev3.1-NoManila.zip or Solacev3.1.zip. I'm not too sure what Manila is.

not sure if I understood you correctly but first of all, you need to rename "ruu_signed.nbh" to "kaisimg.nbh"
second of all, by Hard reset, you will not flash anything, you have to enter the bootloader
last but not least I expect you already know and did these three things: the memory card needs to be formated to the fat32 format, you need to place the kaisimg.nbh into the root folder of the microSD and you have to have hardspl!

If you have done all of the above I don´t see a reason why this (or any other) ROM wouldn´t flash.
If you still have the problem, please be more specific.

I flashed this rom yesterday and it looks really good. The best thing I like about it is it has Sashimi pre-installed and automatically installed all my apps. The only thing I'm struggling with at the moment is the fact that I don't have the settings for my current provider (O2). In X2.V11, after a hard reset it would ask me if I wanted to get settings for O2 and internet, mms etc all worked fine after that. However with this ROM I can't figure it out at the moment. Even if I click on O2 in the programs menu and click on 'Get settings' it comes back with a message saying 'Unfortunately we had problems dealing with your request for settings. Please contact customer service'

Is there any app that was installed in X2.V11 that used to do this? If so, I can always install that app

It's more than likely due to the fact the Kaiser does not have the required driver since it normally takes additional sofware card export to make disk drive mode work.. Can't vouch 100% but thats the general issue, the usb to pc pop up was ported from a device with the function...

No you can only flash ROMs specifically for you device or you will have an expensive paperweight ;)

Cheers for this, it works fine on my HTC Kaiser. Got Throttle Launcher on there, but its default theme because I don't know how to change the theme :S But no, the ROM works really well, it's fast and lightweight, thank you very much for making this :)

it is one of the best rom i have tried..
but i have one problem
evrything was going fine.. but 1day after restarting the phone
my "manila 2d" didnt gt launch .. it was just saying "launching touch flo".. but it didnt launched..
i tried by restarting phone again but the problem remains..
then i again install the same rom and the .."""manila works""..
but when i "restore" my backup message through "pim backup".. again the same problem starts..
i dont know this all happens because of restoring message or nt..but it happens only after restoring message..

plz help me i love this rom very much & thus doesnt want to delete it..
plz any suggestion on how to run my manila.
