BenQ E72 wm6.1 ROM (unreleased)

Hello all,

I have cooked an wm6.1 ROM (thanks to Luby at www.e72.pl for the ROMbase) for the BenQ e72 and have been using it for a couple of weeks and it appears to be very stable and snappy. I have sent an email to the administrators to see if we can get a subforum for the BenQ e72 smartphone because the support for this device is very minimal!!

Here are a few characteristics of this ROM (this was originally created in a Chinese font and base):
--storage space 50mb+
--Segoe Condensed fonts throughout for clearer reading (as can be seen by screenshots)
--over 60+ record key options (short press and long press, all in settings menu)
--over 20+ added tweaks (for end user adjusting)
--section of UI tweaks (see screenshots)
--Cyberon Voice tag added and functioning
--dynamic icons in start menu (accessories has non-dynamic icons) this is to mirror original OEM
--lighter theme schemes added in due to e72's dark screen (allows to be better seen in light), other schemes taken out to provide more space (they can always be added in via cab)
--HTC file manager added in (amongst many other small execs to allow more functionality)
--and many more

This is just a glimpse of this ROM. If you want this ROM please reply, the more people that reply the better it will look and hopefully the administrators will see the demand for a subforum for the BenQ E72.

I will post a link to the download and the tools for flashing when I hear back from the administrators, IF I SEE A DEMAND FOR THIS ROM.

Below are some screenshots of the ROM and some of the features added, now some of the apps in the screenshots in the applications menu are not added in the ROM because they are purchased apps (ie AEBPlus, Battery Pack Pro, CalcOne, Total Commander, Jbed, and Opera Mini...all these can be added via cab).

IF THERE IS NOT A DEMAND THERE IS NO NEED TO POST THE ROM.

EDIT UPDATE (May 25, 2009): Unfortunately I will not be releasing this ROM, I didn't receive enough response from users to justify releasing and supporting this ROM (those users who responded will get the ROM); additionally I have given the administrators enough time to respond and set up a subforum and I have yet to hear back from the multiple emails I have sent. I am pretty surprised at the lack of response from this thread, I thought this phone was in more demand. Just an FYI, I won't be following this thread any longer.
Reasoning behind not releasing this ROM: without a subforum it would be too hard to track for support.

and yea i think that a dedicated subsection in the smartphone forum would be great.. it could be a good "centralized" pace to discuss and develope stuff for this little big device

so far i've downloaded it but notice that the link on rapidshare is no longer functional due to a max of 10 downloads limit. i' tried yesterday but on the step after run button is pressed something is not recognized on the phone.... i must mention that after installing the neptune drivers i have not rebooted the computer maybe that influenciated this behaviour. now i'm ready to give it a second try let's see what happens next....
by the way .... does this ROM has office mobile 2007 preinstalled? i use that a lot!!! and my wm6 kyocera e4000 has it!!

what have i done wrong.... this was the third try ... the first and secnd gave me some error msg "Connect Fail, Get DT Version Fail" "get flash information fail" and stopped.... the cellphone is still fully functional btw.

as i wrote on the polish web i have already done as said on instructions.... every step.... and the drivers even recognize my kyocera as a benq.... i mean they say it is compatible .... but when the process starts well.... it comes to that error....

and if it is of help i've already uploaded the vjgrace ROM again to mediafire and made a spanish translation of the instructions.... if you want it just tellme and i'll post the link..... I DID NOT CHANGED ANYTHING FROM THE ROM IT IS AS I DOWNLOADED IT FROM THE ORIGINAL LINK (NOW DEAD)
