I have a HTC Touch Diamond, and have played around with it for a while but have never really dabbled as scared of bricking my shiny new phone. I have however just dug out my good old P3300, and I am wanting to try some stuff on that.

I am a complete noob when it comes to flashing ROMs and would really appreciate some help/advice, I have searched the forums for hours and not found anything that seemed to work fully or easy to install (ish).

I would love to have a linux based OS on my phone but a lot of them seem to still be a WIP, is this the case?

The phone at the moment is locked to T-mobile as it is a MDA Compact III, so ideally whether I get linux based or WM based I would like to unlock the phone too as I am now with Orange.

If Linux is not an option could anybody point me in the right direction of a fast stable WM based ROM with good battery life (apps/functions not massively important)

I know this has been a long message, but only after a lot of searching I still feel I have a lot of questions and best to post it in one thread instead of dotted all over the site.

If anybody could help I would massively appreciate it.

As far as I know HTC devices work with Windows Mobile operating systems (except few with Google's Android o.s.) and all the custom ROMs you can find here are WM. Since our beloved Artemis is a complete but not so powerful device I suggest to look for a light ROM, with no useless "cubes" or graphic complications..there are many of them..You may also want to upgrade your radio (not FM:D)..All this can be done AFTER CID unlocking...it's all in the Wki section linked by ark666. Custom ROMs are never "perfect" but they are far better than the original ones
