Identify Prophet

Hi All,

I am new to prophet. I wanted to flash one of the new 6.5 Rom on my phone. Its an Imate Jamin phone. But I am confused as to whether is my phone a G3 Phone or G4 phone. How do you differenciate / understand what phone you have?

Also what is the difference between G3 and G4?

Thanks a lot for the information link that you provided me. This has helped me a lot.

I am also facing another issue. When I try to run the Hard SPL on my PC to install it on the phone --> it will go all the way till the time the phone screen turns into 3 colors and the moment it does that there is an error in the RUU stating this MFC application has performed an illegal operations. Windows will now close this operation and I get a msg box saying send information or don't

Please help.

1. what Operating system are you using? XP or Vista?

2. While in bootloader mode <3 color screen> does it show USB on the lower left corner of your phone screen? and does it show RUU on upper right corner of the same screen?

3. If there are errors still and theres a code given like Error code 345 < example only > define it here.. file attached

4.Btw, did you hardSpl'ed your device without knowing if its G3 or G4???? :((

5. if youre using Vista as OS on your PC and got about with g3 and g4 prob read this...

Thanks a lot for the link that you provided. I have windows 7 as by OS and that could be the reason for the error.

Will try it and let you know. Thanks anyways for the help.

Another think. I used my other Windows XP machine for updating the rom but after installation of the rom - computer screens shows finish but on handset restart it still has window 5. What could be the reason for this. Can you help.

have you tried hardspl?? provide me the ipl and spl youre getting the moment you boot up your device...


heres how you can get your IPL/SPL
soft reset your device... and while its booting up look at the upper right corner of your screen there you will see your ipl and spl ... iuf you have SPL like
2.g3.4pda < for g3 models > 2.g4.4pda <for g4 models ... hope im right for g4 coz i have g3>. if you dont have this spl you need to hardspl your device first before trying to flash a new rom for example WM6.1 or more...

follow closely and MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE RIGHT MODEL ON YOUR DEVICE... ex. make sure if your G3 or G4 btw read the link its provides the proper way...
