It's probably easiest to flash 1.83 and then upgrade. But you can try going through the automatic process as if you're going to flash 1.83, (until you get to tricolour screen that says SSPL) then cancel that RUU and open a CustomRUU with the 2.51 nbh from update_to_251.zip.

Either way, you'll need CustomRUU (the one you linked worked for me) and the RUU_Signed.nbh from update_to_251.zip. Put them in a folder together and double-click the CustomRUU .exe file. You can do that after you've flash 1.83 and gotten to its tricolour screen, or you can try halfway through the process as I described.

Hope this helps, feel free to ask for clarifications. :)

1.83 was installed alongwith Dutty R9. I received my repaired phone after a gap of about 7 months and started using again. Thought I must upgrade to eclipse v7. While flashing.. loading screen came and then the phone went back to tri color screen..
now i am:
- unable to flash to dutty r9
- unable to flash eclipse.
- unable to hard spl to 2.51
the phone detects the .nbh file.. says loading..goes back to tri color screen..

ok the screen looks fine. perhaps it just doesn't like your SD card. if you don't have another SD card, have you tried flashing via USB cable instead?

just use the romupdateutility (RUU).. you dont have to have activesync to flash a ROM update.

this is very basic stuff...well ok, for ruu just use customruu, one version is here : http://hpcmonex.net/htc/topaz/TopazCustomRuu.zip

extract & put this in an empty folder on your pc, and also put the nbh file in that folder, connect the device to pc via usb cable (in tricolour screen saying OliNex right?) then flash by clicking the customruu exe.

Hi guys,

I've just flashed HSPL, 1.83OliNex, then flashed a new stocked WM 6.5 ROM, then tried to relock.
So I used Relocker.exe to 1.33, but now stuck at 1.33, and can't boot, and can't change to 1.83 (the screen flies away, says no image on my SD)
Any help out there?

So I've gotten around the image issue, but the screen gets stuck on "Loading..."

no need for internet, you can just place it on fat32 SD card and flash, the Hard-SPL was designed by me to allow easy updates to newer Hard-SPL :)

When I made reset phone was swithing on and after 1-2 sec. off... again and again... Next reset, and its swithing into tree colour panel with sign Upgrade ROM code error. Well, after that I was trying to flash it again, and also I was trying to flash few new ROMs (tess prime F, eclipse 7) its not working (by USB and SD card) when I trying to install by windows its starting, but is for all the time at 0% and after few minutes nothing is changing.
Do You have any sugestions how to fix it? or should I start to look for new phone?

Just try flashing a stock ROM whilst in this screen...
If that doesn't work, Get a copy of MTTY.exe and then do a "set 16 0" command. Details can be found in this wiki page for the Kaiser, instructions are the same for both devices.

if you want to undo Hard-SPL, then you can take the SPL relocker files from 1st/2nd posts of this thread.

you only need to undo Hard-SPL for warranty issues but in case the new owner of the device is too clueless about these things, it's a good idea to revert the SPL to stock (that is it will have a valid warranty without the new owner having to do anything)

I didn't post a 2.16 stock spl but you could flash another stock spl (1.33 or 1.83) and then flash a full 2.16 rom on top of that if you have one for your device CID. if not, then I can make 2.16 stock spl for you if you give me a link to a 2.16 RUU

nothing different, just reflash with Hard-SPL program.

I may be mistaken as I have never reverted but you may have to revert your HSPL to 1.83 from 2.51 in order to flash a WM 6.1 ROM.

I can't do hardspl olinex, I have a Vodafone Topaz hardspl 33.00 and after tricolor displays are always left to 0% (displays are white).
I tried rapinex.cab, jumpspl1_56.exe, 93, 94, ... car hard, hard manual ... all useless.

Try refalshing HSPL in bootloader mode, either from your SD card, or try the RUU or .exe method once you are connected to your PC.

Hi all, i just try to install HSPL but allways wrong. My Diamond 2 stay at 0% about 10 minutes and than recovery. My current SPL version is 2.16.162.3 Vodafone.
I just try with "Topaz-HardSPL_V5_09R6_CRT_183HSPL.zip" but in automatic or manual mode is allways failed.
Can anyone help me with this.

You should disable your antivirus for the moment and after extract and flash you can re-enable that. This is also described in instruction section of first thread.

You should try opening a ticket explaining your situation here (http://support.htc-unlocks.com/open.php). Also, there is an option on http://topaz.htc-unlocks.com/ to pay by Google Checkout -- might that help?

It looks like you don't have HardSPL. It should say something like SPL-2.51.OliNex on the second line if you do.

Where and when did you see these 202,204,262 errors? I haven't heard of this before, but I would guess they're coming from the RUU flasher on your PC or shown on the phone's screen in tri-colour mode?



If it's telling you it detected commercial usage, then you'll either have to donate or file a ticket.


Sorry, still new to this stuff, didn't know I wouldn't get a notification when someone replied. I got those errors when trying to Hard SPL. It was on computer screen.

Not sure why it detected commercial use considering it was my first attempt. Olinex eventually got back to me and it went through.

However, this was my last Pure. The phone was ungodly horrible. I had 5 glitch/fail on me in 11 months and AT&T replaced it for free for me.

Long story short, now with Sprint and thoroughly enjoying my new Evo 3D.

Contact the person who created it. Explain it's your first time. I experienced the same problem. Give the information they need, then the program will work.

Not far off. You can open a ticket to request a license at http://support.htc-unlocks.com/open.php , but that is checked manually and sometimes slowly. Paying gets an automatic unlock.

You're not the first to be annoyed by this. I haven't heard as many complaints recently, so either nobody is using it anymore or they're getting free unlocks quickly.

On e-bay I bought a Vodafone branded Touch Diamond 2. In order to flash another ROM I tried to flash HardSPL. I already unlocked my other T-Mobile TD2 successfully.

With this one I only have trouble.

The automatic mode says that I already unlocked a device and the manual mode stucks at 0%.

How do I flash Topaz with WM 6.1? Which SPL is needed for that. Tried combinations of HSPL 1.83, HSPL 2.51 and SPL 1.33 with custom and official6.1 ROMs. None of the booted. All leading to cycled reboots. I was surprised wehn even official 6.1 + official SPL 1.33 resulted a cycling reboot. Maybe there is a way to flash HSPL 1.33?

i accidentally ran Mega-Touch2-HardSPL-Kit-by-jocky2001 on my topaz and now its not even going into bootloader can i bring it back to life please. i am pretty sure i damaged the hardspl how can i recover from that. th program created a file called spl-backup.bin (512kb) if this helps.

I'm trying to flash a new rom on my phone I just bought but with every update utiliy it stays at 0%.
I bought it 2nd handed so I dont know if they flashed it before, it came with win 6.1 and I flashed it to 6.5 with the original htc rom, that worked fine.

The hard spl wont flash, but when I enter the tri colour screen it does say spl 2.51.0000, does that mean the hard spl is unlocked?

Then why cant I flash any roms?
I tried the enablerabi.cab too.

No, spl would show 2.51.000.olinex if it worked.
You can flash stock ROMs w/o HSPL.

All you can do is try to flash back to a stock ROM and hope it restores your bootloader partition

why would you want to do that for? spl is spl and it hasn't changed much with this device.

It's telling me that i already unlocked device, but i hadn't unlocked any device. Then it says if something is wrong just skip it - but i get error. Please tell me if it's possible to do something? Because with AT&T firmware EDGE is not working normally in my country.
