there is a 30% speed upgrade for the TG01... not bad!
BUT who needs it :confused::p

Wow!
That is good to know
Lets hope that HTC uses same processor in their new models!
Thanks for sharing

Sweet. Shrunk it to 45nm which reduced power consumption and allowed a clock speed bump! Nice! Now its a full 6.5x faster than my dying phone!

I think your ok to go for a TP2, you got a few days left ;)
Qualcomm QSD8650A chipset is said to become available for sampling before the end of 2009, so the first devices running it should appear somewhere in 2010.
I suspect this Tosh will go the way of the Imates, rumour, conjecture, prediction, frenzy, "i want! i want! i want!" and then never materialise - at least the good ones didn't. The ones that did were so late, they were crap.

It's better not to compare the two companies - Tosh has always been an innovator (unlike HTC, HP and a lot of other manufacturers). Remember the e800? It was released a year before the other manfacturers' VGA devices.
iMate is exactly the opposite...

I bet they won't be using it for at least another half a year. HTC and innovation and cutting-edge technology... bah...

So to be absloutely clear. There wil no longer be a TG01 at running at 1Ghz appearing in the next month or 2 ?
Thanks,

No, the TG01 will still be using a 1Ghz processor, the thread title is misleading, basically a device running the new chip will be 30% faster than the TG01 and use 30% less power.

indeed, having reread it I got it wrong. They mention the TG01 but not in the same breath. Sorry for being misleading.

Why announce an upgraded chipset a few weeks before the phone is released? At least, here in the UK. I dunno when it's getting a release elsewhere, but Orange are looking at a late June/early July release. Though I'm still staggered they chose to go with WM 6.1 instead of 6.5...
