First of all, congrats again on the very nice work you have done, I'm using R4 for 2 days now and have no issues at all...

About the dialer and the upcoming R4.1 release with Tachi, I'd prefer to have a video-capable dialer instead of that. I know that some people are having issues, and it's normal with a Beta dialer, but IMO the advantages are much more than it's disadvantages.

You can video call,
You can conf-call easily
Incall screens (including the slider) works for me nearly all the time.

The only drawback is the weird behaviour of the dialer in the first incoming call after boot, but is it that much unbearable?

I hope you'd give us the topaz/rhodium dialer option with the upcoming releases. (Well, I know it can be installed with a cab, but 5-10mb is not a small space for a Diamond, right?)

i install Laser Inc. Shellres.192.cab. Then reset. Still getting the old waiting cursor. I checked /windows directory, it has the updated shellres.192.dll (1.1MB). Just it won't show the Win 7 waiting cursor.

I don't agree.
You (Yozgatg) have always tried to make your ROMs as stable as possible.
Part of your strategy was to include as little beta versions of apps/parts as possible.
This is what I admire in you:
You want only the best for your ROMs, communicate with the community about your plans and allways do what you've promised us to do.

I was actually surprised to see that the R4 release contains the Rhodium dialer which is by far in a more beta phase than the Tachi dialer you used in R3. On the other hand I know progress on the perfect ported dialer (phonecanvas) seems (!) a little slow sometimes, so you don't wanne be last to use the ported rhodium dialer.

I think you've made a great decision in reverting back to the stable Tachi dialer in R4.1. This way you provide us a great stable ROM and people who want to experiment with a newer beta dialer are free to do so.

Last note: take your time to dazzle us with your new/updated ROM. Expectations are high, but (like I said) the way you keep us informed about the progress you're making and the work that needs to be done is just great.

I'd say: go with the new bar, as long as it's stable ;)
Battery polling doesn't really seem to be that accurate anyway...
(In my opinion anyway...)

I found another strange issue with the R4.
I always use my phone in Vibrate mode. No sound, just vibration.

As soon as I get a phone call, and I miss it... I got suddenly a sms vibration! (of course, no new sms in inbox).

Don't know why.
Of course I revert my dialer to Tachi One, using the MikeNop cab.

I prefer by far this Rhodium dialer of R4. It's much better than the one in R3. I haven't got any trouble with this R4 ROM so far.
Except the GPS that 2 days ago didn't fix any satellite and i was driving my car and it was trying to fix for about 2 hours and then the battery died... Today i opened TomTom and in 10 seconds i had a perfect fix..! And yes QuickGPS was updated even 2 days ago.

About the new notification manager, if the 10% issue only affects the notification screen, then whats the problem? As far as the battery indicator on the taskbar remains in 1% increments then its ok.

Since yesterday my volume keys don't work anymore. Pushing the up or down button brings me to the volume settings, but pushing it again brings me back to the home screen and either the clock or the first appointment is suddenly highlighted. Tried the volume fix cab from the start post, but it doesn't help.

Maybe these are the reason why I don't complain much...
I haven't had any need to mute a conversation, for now. And as I said, had no issues with the new dialer being not %100 VGA...

And, I hate the lock slider that pops up during call! The screen goes blank already, and to do something you'd first turn on the screen, try to slide down the curtain (it's not always easy) and try to find the button...
So, actually, that "-" can be a definite PLUS for some people (like me) :))))

Anyways, I HOPE you get better (or at least good enough) results with Rhodium dialer, as I love to have conferencing and video call support. Those were actually the main driving force for going from R3 to R4...

Mute button is not important. When press VOL DOWN button, ringing is quiet. This is not problem.

To make this ROM perfect for me I really think you should include a couple more apps:
nodata, a reset app, unlock the locked programs on the start screen and include decent taskbar icons.

When i make appointments, lets say i sync'd the appointments to GMT+9, then next week i go to GMT+10, all my appointments are shifted 1hr forward.

Any fixes that will prevent that from happening? i just want to schedule my appointment Via 1 timeline regardless of timezone.

i think this is a "feature" of windows mobile

it keeps your appointments relative to your timezone

you need to set your correct timezone BEFORE you sync

if you set an appointment to phone somebody at 10am at +9GMT, then you move to +10GMT....you will be phoning them at the wrong time. They will be expecting your call at 19:00GMT (10am + 9h) but you will phone at 20:00GMT(10am+10h) So it shifts your appointments to make sure everything happens at the correct time when you set it.

In an enterprise scenario this totally makes sense and is the correct behaviour....nothing to fix.

if i know my client is expecting a call/email at 5pm i need my PDA to remind me of the correct time to do that irrespective of where in the world i am.

if you need reminders to shift WITH your timezone you need to set alarms rather than appointments

some people disagree with this behaviour...personally it's caught me out when flashing a rom from another region (i've reset the timezone AFTER flashing and all my appointments, birthdays etc got shifted) but i still think it's the correct behaviour in the long run and i dont think there is a fix for it.

It's a cabbed version of the GPSTool in R3, I don't know if it will work when installed to Internal Storage. I would advice to install to device as it takes up almost no space. It's just an executable and some registry entries so it will show up on the settings page.

flashed 4.1b minutes ago. got 2 problems:

1. the pin input only shows up 2-3 seconds then disappears because of TF3D starting so i can not enter the sim pin without disableing und reanableing the phone mode.

2. when using TOMTOM v7.915.9196 and pressing the volume buttons, the volumcontrol only shows up 0,5cm on the left screen side and BEHIND the TOMTOM window so no volume change possible without leaving tomtom.

Edit: Marketplace in GER Version is not working.

I've tried another rom to be sure it wasn't my phone and indeed it's a software problem.

I don't know if it has already been mentionned but since R4 my volume button doesn't work anymore.

I've tried another rom to be sure it wasn't my phone and indeed it's a software problem.


Another remark, since R4 my phone is suffering from some slowdowns that force me to restart it.

It has been mentioned by at least one other user, but it seems to be a rare problem. I don't experience this problem for instance, volume buttons are working just fine.
This, together with te slowdowns make me think you either suffering from a bad flash or some malfunctioning third-party app.

only two little bugs found at the moment:
- Wifi-Router is grey. No possibility to activate it.
- If you choose a Soundfile(Mp3) via File-Manager and use the option "use it at Ringsound", nothing happen!
In the preview version it function.

If have some Problems after flashing these roms.

If i use the 4.1A Rom everytime windows starts the buetooth connection is enabled. The second thin ist also when i use the 4.1B Rom that after the Automatic SIM Card provider connection (however it is called) will configure the device the keypad for the Phone-Pin flashes for half a second up on boot of windows, but it disappears very fast so i can´t type in the PIN.

With the R3 Rom these Problems doesn´t appear!

Anaybody got the same issues?

Hi - superb ROM, by far the best looking and most responsive I've tried, thanks!

Only issue is the clock on home screen of TF3D: when ever the phone is restarted, either soft reset or simple off/on the clock will stick on the time that the phone turned on. I need to reset TF3D to sort it, is there any way round this?

Also - can anyone recommend a decent RAM cleaner to sort out Windows typically useless memory management?!

That happens when i charge it if i disconnect the crager everything works fine and i get asked for the pin!

You can also de/activate the dataconnection with Advanced Config :)
Advanced Config > Menu (right softkey) > More settings > Connections ;)

I did find out what screwed up the Weather menu.

He wasn't talking about WIFI, but the grayed-out Mobile WIFI-router. But you are right in general you have to press only the ON/OFF in the COmmManager to switch.

In my case, it became selectable in the CommManager after I activated the program first:
START> All (left softbutton)> scroll down to Mobile Wifi Router > start programm by tapping it.

In that case I will use AC to disable data ;) . I installed Modaco no GPRS on the Dutch version (for my kid) and when I start the application I get an application error. Only thing I can do is watch the details or close it. But its no issue. I will simply use AC to make sure she doesn't use any data connection exept WiFi and BT.

This NEVER worked for me (tested it 5 minutes ago as well), the only thing that works for me is restarting manilla (changing anything at settings and then customize tabs), then it works until next reset).

So conclusion:
Manilla time refreshing bug occurs when using exchange setup including security policies that force the windows lock screen (confirmed multiple users)
Some people also have bug with G-alarm.

Any people have an idea what is causing the bug??
If so then maybe Yogatz can finally get rid of this bug...

Have used since first R2 release. Remote Desktop for WM6 isnt compitable with your latest release, Im using the 4.1b (Rhodium Dialer) NLD one.
It installs fine, and after a soft reset I can run it aswell, but all it shows is one big box with Options on top of it. Cant scroll or connect to anything.

Just flashed my Diamond with R4.1A...Excellent ROM, fast and much less memory. After sync my contacts, e-mails, calendars, tasks, etc...install all the applications I need, the memory shows 59% in used which with R3 or older and other ROM I tried usually shows between 63%-65%.

So far everything is perfect, no issue yet....Thanks master Yoz

I like wwe roms instead of Brazilian Portuguese but It is a must for me since it will answer automatically in my car under the BT hands free.

I had the clock freeze with each update of this rom. I think it has something to do with the mods I installed because this time I only installed BG4AllTabs and I never had a clock freeze again. Before I installed a clear clock, no curtains, blue highlights, transparent slider etc.

Maybe one of these components or a combination of some of these cause the freeze? Just a thought.

Just to give you an advice, install BSB Ram Sweeper because it´s a good ram cleaner and it restarts TF3D2.1 so if you´ve clock issues and start it by reboot you won´t get any freeze.

Same Problem to me with v4.1B GER Version.

plus the other problems i reported:

pin code menu only shows 2-3s, then disappears when tf3d starts.
volume control only shows up 0,5cm in the left side when using TomTom.

any solutions?

I've tried Gen.Y_D2_R4.1A_WWE but I found this strange behaviour (maybe bugs?

1) Even setting the option "Single Volume" off, it looks like it is still on, in fact the volume of the Incoming call is equivalent to the lower of the two volumes "Ring" and "System"

2) In the menu Settings\All Settings\(Personal\)Input\Touch Input\Options
even untick the option "Vibrate when keys are pressed" when I tap any icon from the of the principal menu or the number of the phone keyboard (when you dial a number) the phone vibrate

Have just upgraded to R4.1a and can't get the GPS working on tomtom. I have tried HTC gps tool and that doesn't work either. Anyone else having this problem or know of a solution. It won't pick up any satellites at all.
Using the recomended radio (1.13 something) as well which worked fine with R3.

Install Touch Incall Screen Tweak and Diamond Tweak (see attached cabs).

For Diamond Tweak:
1. Call
1.1 Fast Sleep: Disabled
1.2 Sleep: Disabled
1.3 Light Sensor: Disabled

For Touch Incall Screen Tweak:
Phone Tab
Ignore Light Sensor: checked
Ignore First Screen Off: checked
Use APM (see help): unchecked

Opions Tab
Always On: checked
rest: unchecked

As for a black skinned tachi dialer, check out this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=3922010 If you have the nasty GPS icon in your dialer, after installing a skin you should extract statusico.zip (attached) and copy the bmp file to the windows folder on your device (overwrite when prompted).

ok, GPS finally started working after a long time 10mins+, looks like quickGPS isn't working. Is this related to the ROM? never happened on any other ROM and I've tried a few WM6.1 & 6.5 ROM's. Could it be a sign that I need to do MTTY?

Also where can I get the colour TF3D icons that I saw on the R4 preview posted a while back before it came out or will it affect pereformance?

I Love this ROM, finally a stable and very smooth reliable rom! the only one that's as stable as this is dia duit's but this rom is better! :) anyway i just encounterd a bug with the facebook contact integration, In some contacts when i press the facebook button it doesn't do a thing and in other contacts I can't log-in, even if i type the right password and all... is there a fix for this? or maybe an app?

It's fast, stable and use less memory!

Only one function I miss, the "Agenda" button in the Manila Calendar!
Before I use 4.1A I tried the Beta3-Manila2.5 Rom and there is in the Manila-Calendar the function agenda
(show all appointment for the next week).
Is there a possibility to add this function in this perfect ROM? (via cab or example regedit)?

Same Problem to me with v4.1B GER Version.

plus the other problems i reported:

pin code menu only shows 2-3s, then disappears when tf3d starts.
volume control only shows up 0,5cm in the left side when using TomTom.

I can't be fast enough to type in my pincode after i turn on the phone.
So after tf3d start i alwalys have to go to the comm tab en restart the phone icon.
Somebody have a sollution.

- the clock freezes quite often (tried to untick the Automatically change time zone setting)
- sometimes when i pull the stylus, the calls tab opens
- the softbutton phone sometimes it does not work


i have noted these bugs after a rom upgrade and after the hard reset

hope to see these bugs fixed on the next rom upgrade and a cup of coffee will be offered :p

all things concidered this is the best rom i have used and even with those bugs I will keep it

i just did the plain flash from internal storage

I flashed with v4.1A yesterday and I had the same little issues as the previous ones : opera & streaming media don't work. But it's not a problem because I re-installed Opera + streaming media and all is fine now :)
The rom is fast, stable, and battery life is good : you rock Yozgatg !!! (as usual ^^)

And, remember (or, look at that country flag up there) that English is NOT my native language, we speak Turkish here, in Turkey...

But, it's a sad fact that English is much more common. So, I do use WWE. I suggest you to use Gen.Y WWE ROM if you can, it's nice as you know. But, it's of course your choice. (I was just trying to help. Asking is of course ok, asking with a thousand "Pleaaaaaaseeeeeeeeee"s a thousand and more times... Dunno!)

Try looking for "Softkey Manager"; Search this thread or the forums, and you can change the softkey for Windows & TF3D.

I'm not an expert, but you should probably check whether you set your appointments using different time zone or probably you haven't unchecked the automatic time zone in your phone setting. I have the same issue, I use diamond tweak to set the phone on wakeup on new messages and it solved the problem.

io ho installato la rom gen.y D2R3 ita e come interfaccia ho installato l'spb mobile shell 3.5 ma ho un problema con la visualizzazione degli sms in 3d;in pratica la barra che c'è in fondo alla pagina mi si duplica sull' sms che sto visualizzando.Da qualche parte ho letto che mobile shell 3.5 nn è compatibile con i driver ATI che sono presenti nella rom che uso.
qualcuno mi sa dire come posso risolvere il problema???

I started using it last night and I completely love it.

One thing I have noticed that is missing from other ROMs is the uploader for uploading photos straight to facebook from inside the album.

While I'd really like this to be included in future versions, is there a standalone .cab I can get to include that functionality?

probably this is not the right section for this subject, but I don't know where to go.
I have installed the rom gen.y D2R3 ita and as interface I installed the spb mobile shell 3.5 but I've a problem with the display of text messages in 3d, in practice the bar at the bottom of the page is duplicated on the sms i'm showing.Somewhere I read that mobile shell 3.5 isn't compatible with ATI drivers that are present in the rom that I use.
someone tell me how can I fix this??

I had exactly the same problem!

I used SKbackup and SPB Backup before.. now I use MyPhone from microsoft, and anything is okay. (dont restore anything with sk or spb (both restore the database(I know you can untick the Restore Database in spb)))

It seams that something in the Database is messed up.. if you have sktools installed, you can open it, and go to "Database" there you find some entries with "fldr" look inside them and I bet you find your missing sms! (for me it was fldr2300032)

what programs do you use that could have effect to the sms?
The only two programs I use that have anything to do with sms are alarmPal and SMSDRFixWM5.cab

After using CleanRam level 3 Rhodium Dialer doesn't work properly. It's no more VGA ported. After Soft Reset it works again. Anyone else?

I had exactly the same problem!

I used SKbackup and SPB Backup before.. now I use MyPhone from microsoft, and anything is okay. (dont restore anything with sk or spb (both restore the database(I know you can untick the Restore Database in spb)))

Only program I used for backing up my SMS messages is PIM Backup. Maybe the database is messed up, I will try to find this out this evening. I have to find a version of SKTools that is not a demo so I can find the correct folders in the Database.
What if I find the missing SMS? Is there any option to fix the database or something? :)

I couldn't fix the database.. I dropped every sms/contact/appointment/everything (over 4000sms :( ) and started completely clear.. just with the MyPhone as a backup :)

so:

- sync with MyPhone :)
- hardreset your phone
- resync with MyPhone
- reinstall your programs

THIS was the only way for me to get rid of this problem. (I had this problem for over 6 weeks.. (lost around 60sms because of this "bug")

with sktools you can export them and read them (if you have the same problem like me)

I am in India and the sevice provider logo "Airtel" in my case is showing twice, like Airtel AIRTEL on top left corner of home screen. However, if I change the rom like switched back to HTC original rom the logo shows only one time.

I love the R4 but this is irritating, I tried manaul network selection etc but of no help.

Any help would be appreciated.

You could try this. Add the phcanvga.exe from amarullz phone canvas to the exclusion list of cleanRAM. This executable is triggered by a shortcut in \Windows\Startup. I don't know for sure if this will fix the problem. To test this you could also run cleanRAM level 3, and then click the shortcut to see if the porting works again. If this is the case, then just add phcanvga.exe to the exclusion list.

just wanted to know if anyone seems to get this? and if so, how are you handling it?

I had also this behaviour. After some days of usage - also with some softrestes inbetween - the D shows me "out of data memory". Taskbar shows 69% left (109MB available, 100MB used, 9MB free).

Is MTTY a methode to wipe the phone storage without cleaning the 4GB internal memory?

I've solved instead with BSB RAM sweeper putting phcanvga.exe in the exclusion list. (I know that it would be the same, but with CleanRAM it doesn't work :eek:)

Just follow the MTTY Guide (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=540290), and your internal storage (4Gb) will be untouched :)

i have installed this rom and since the contacts are synchronized with my facebook-contacts, there is a green "exclamation mark"-symbol next to the contact-picture at only one person. only 1 of more then 500 contacts!!!
can anybody tell me what this symbol could mean?

i don´t feel that way ... sounds like you are not using mtty!

i´ve just upgraded rev.3 to the 4.1A ger. as far as i can tell everything runs smooth - but i need some more testing time. i´m happy that the cleanstartmenu.cab is already installed and i love the new icon´s throughout the rom

i think it has been mentioned before, but there is a small line on the screen when you run the connection wizzard (i believe this is not supposed to be there). same thing when you try to add a place for the weather tab (the lines go throuh the letters on the right).


hey guys, maybe someone can explain: why is onenote back in the rom? i hardly know anyone using that program, since you have the note taking app and m$word ... so for what use is onenote? - seriously never used that.

and another question how do i use location based settings ... this is greyed out on my phone. is it supported in germany?

Well, I could read it in SKTools. I could not move it or copy it into my inbox or something else.

Only question I still have, how is it possible that the TD moves the SMS to this apparently invisble folder? It is not possible to the delete the folder and it is always the same folder where the SMS is placed. It is occuring again, it worked fine for about 3 messages yesterday/today.. lol.

Foldername is btw fldr32000023. I can find something with google but it is not much. Maybe I open a new topic about this issue, but it didnt appear with the stock ROM...

Try looking for "Softkey Manager"; Search this thread or the forums, and you can change the softkey for Windows & TF3D.
Thanks, didn't know that was compatible. I'm used to changing those via the registry actually, but don't really need that. TF3D start menu is nice and enough for me, for now at least.

Can't agree... Luckily, I don't have any problems with the ROM, aside from the fact that each new TF3D version uses more RAM and our Diamonds are not very rich on that side. But, all looks and works OK for me on R4.1...
